Been tracking two packages, one which has been "delivered" for a week now, the other is "delivered" today. I waited in line, asked the teller if she could check the back for me, she told me that "delivered" means it is simply in the building and that I should come back at a later time.. My tracking says for one, delivered to AV Post Office, and the second is "delivered" Now, "delivered" means it's ready for pickup in my mind. She couldn't clear up whatever misunderstanding there might be but shooed me away instead. Doesn't apply to all employees at this post office, but some are simply unprofessional. read more

This post office is not great. Hesperia office is so much better. I will drive to Hesperia any time I need anything from the counter. Today at my office our mail person left an entire set of cluster boxes open after he put the mail in. All the mail is there for the taking. I called the number listed for them and it just rings and rings and then makes a fax noise. So I guess there is nothing we can do about our mail being totally exposed. I cannot even believe what I have been through trying to get a certified letter from the IRS. They left a pink slip informing me that they could not reach me although I was home ALL DAY and NO ONE even tried to ring the doorbell, and could not leave it in my box. So I signed the paper, put it back in the box and it's 3 days later now and it's still there. I went online 2 days ago and rescheduled the letter to be delivered and it was all set for today, Friday, February 2nd, and I got not one, but 2 confirmation emails to that affect, and go to get the mail just now and NO LETTER FROM IRS. Worst post office North American Bar none. I will straight up avoid ordering specific products if I see they are sending through USPS. There's so much talk about saving the postal service but all it takes is ONE mediocre post office to make you hate them all. This one will make you want to vote out the entire USPS department. Aside from the obvious lack of customer service skills and courteousness. These guys just straight up DONT do their jobs. If your supposed to receive a package too large for your mailbox, forget. You won't see it. It's always held at the post office, they won't leave the vehicle to walk a package past any gates. They don't attempt to make ANY REDELIVERIES and even getting your package yourself is a nightmare. I had to show 2 different forms of ID and my social security card and a credit card to retrieve a package they almost returned to sender. I'm just done with this office, I would rather pay 2x as much more FedEx or UPS for half the service and i would still be getting away with murder. The USPS here is literally just a scam. When you pay people to do something and they just flat out don't do it and subsequently lie and attempt to cover up their efforts it's no longer negligence it's just fraud. I have serious concerns about the activities of the supervisors and their employees at this location. There is no other excuse or reason for such horrible productivity. Our current female carrier (name starts with K) on the Tussing Ranch area route is a heavy smoker. She stops and smokes near the boxes and I can smell smoke in my box when I grab my mail. What is sad is that she has issues with everyone on the route. I tried to be nice and she has an attitude and it is everyone else's fault and everyone on the route is "trying to threaten her". I have a brother with mental illness. She reminds me of my brother. Her mistakes are never her fault and the attitude at the post office is not one of Customer Service, but one of a lackadaisical demeanor. I miss my retired carrier on this route named Frank. How often does one come across a preteen who is asking for a Bible??? I was visiting my mom in Apple Valley and could have waited to mail The Action Bible upon my return to the South Bay. However, in a flurry of to-do's, I made a last-minute decision to send it earlier. The postal worker who assisted me was very patient as he calmly explained the different packaging options, bubble wrap, and methods of sealing & securing the box. He was kind and really made an impression on my boyfriend and me so, when I was made aware that I could share my experience, I made sure to save the receipt so I could leave a positive review about the swift yet smooth process I had at this particular post office. The postal worker's name is Robert and the receipt indicates a "Clerk #4" on it. This USPS has to be the worst one. And that's not terribly hard to be since the USPS is a great example of a horribly run government agency. But it seems like they don't even try or care at this location. If you have mail with an important document that clearly says DO NOT BEND, it will still get stuffed in your mailbox. FOLDED IN HALF. Need your mail forwarded? Maybe some will get to your new address. Don't count on all of it though. I even know many businesses who go out of their way to use the Victorville Post Office, so they can avoid AV altogether. Sad. read more

They have often lost our mail, today they dropped off my mail in my mailbox but didn't pick up the stuff I had going out. Not sure why the mail carrier would do that. I find myself coming here more often now. Mainly because the mail box provided by them has been getting broken into and they keep mickey mousing it trying to fix it, when it really needs to be replaced. This is the fourth time this year and now it has been more then two months and still no replacement. At least half of our neighbors have bought their own box now and well so have I, just need to install. Is very frustrating that they have taken so long to even do anything about it. I can't believe the unprofessional way this location is run!!! They deserve 0 stars! First off, it took me forever to find a direct number for the Apple Valley post office that works, but if anyone else wants it here it is: 760-247-8511 or 760-247-4841. Bottom line is they will lie to cover up their mistakes. They don't do what they say they will do. They don't care, they don't try, and they obviously do not have the skills or professionalism to be trusted to do the job they are tasked to do. They are like a bunch of disrespectful and dishonest kids that need a good parent to hold them accountable and lay out some consequences. Here is how I have learned this.... 6 months ago, my key stopped working on my mailbox. I kept calling in and was told there must be too much mail inside for the lock to turn. I didn't want to break the key so they said they would have the mail carrier check it. They said they would call back, they never did. When I called back to follow up, they would put me on hold for up to 45 minutes or until I hung up. Then they said they needed to talk directly to the mail carrier when she came in, and somehow every time I called she "just left the building", even when I called at the exact time they told me to, somehow I always "Just missed her". I couldn't understand why they couldn't just call her, leave her a note, an email, or anything! Then they changed the story to say she was a separate contractor and that is why they couldn't get any communication to her. Unbelievable!!! So after being strung along for a long time by Eddie, I asked to talk to a Supervisor. First they were never available either, but finally I spoke to James who was just as bad. Weeks turned into months. They kept telling me they were doing something to get my mailbox fixed, only I would later find out that they never did. Eventually I spoke to another supervisor named Raphael who finally admitted that they had made a mistake and given my mailbox to someone else!!!! What?!?! And that is why my key didn't work!!!!! I couldn't believe that they had been intentionally lying to me this whole time!!!!!!! They should fire everyone in there who is so completely incompetent and hire people who have some sense of decency, honesty and accountability! Finally Raphael promised that he would get the locksmith to change the key on another mailbox that was not being used so I could get this other one. We agreed on a day and time for me to meet him at the post office so I could pick up this new key. I was out of town at the time but decided I really wanted to get this finally resolved so I drove there from 2 hours away only to find out that Raphael didn't bother to go to work that day. Neither did the postmaster. So when the locksmith came it, there was no note or instructions to fix the lock and get me a key, so he left!!! Nobody bothered to call and let me know. I wasted over 4 hours on the road just to be basically stood up. I was done being polite at this point. I spoke to Eddie that day and demanded to have the number of some sort of management over their location. He said he didn't know any names or numbers or contact information of anyone above him, nor did he know where to find it. I know this is impossible. I asked him "so if your building was on fire, who higher up would you call? He showed his true lack of decency when he smugly replied, "I would call a fireman". Finally he gave me the name of the area Manager, Frank Lemus, but wouldn't give me any way to contact him, and said he would be too busy to talk to me anyway because he oversees 30 - 35 locations. Mr. Lemus, if you see this, please get in contact with me. You need to know what is happening at the Apple Valley Post office. If this is the way a government agency is run with our tax dollars, it is past time to fire everyone there and hire new people who know to run a real business. So at this point, it has been 6 months. My mailbox that was given away has not been returned to me, nor do I have a new one. I have spent countless hours on the phone trying to get this resolved and all I have gotten in return is extreme frustration. Rafael and James both have promised me that they would give me a replacement mailbox but today they stood me up AGAIN! When I call, they let the phones just ring and ring. I have contacted the Consumer Affairs Department that oversees the post office to let them know of this situation. If it helps anyone else, here is their phone number: (858) 674-2670. My advice is to avoid this post office at all costs. (the one in Lucerne at 6054 E. One word: INCOMPETENT. I was supposed to receive a package from oldnavy on Sunday Oct. 30. The tracking states that a delivery was attempted and then forwarded. I have no forwarding address. I spoke with a local usps manager Nov. 1 at 12pm, who said she would speak with the carrier to find out what happened. Now the tracking says my package was returned to sender on Nov. 1 at 4:47pm, after I spoke with the manager. The items are now out of stock on oldnavy. Spoke with USPS chat, who stated "Says it was forwarded in error by the carrier and ultimately returned because there is no forwarding order on file for you. I'm literally writing this review as I wait for this place to find my package. I'm 100% positive I am here every other day picking up packages due to the simple fact that USPS refuses to drive down my street to deliver packages to my gate. So damn lazy. I have had several problems with this location, every time I come it's an issue. When I initially moved here my DL obviously didn't have my new address but they would always give me my packages because who the heck else has my complicated ass first name. Any who, several times the Hispanic lady who ALWAYS gave me my packages decided to some days give me a hard time for my last name not matching nor my address. Cool understandable but don't give me my packages some day with no headache and then the very next day harass me. So fast forward to today. I come in with two slips for missed packages. They have a completely separate line for non cash transactions. I was the only customer in that line. I stood there for a solid 5 min before the girl pages anyone to help me. 15 min go by and finally someone comes out. He takes my slips and brings back ONE package. Dude I gave you two separate slips. First he tells me he can't find it, then asks me for the tracking number. Isn't that your job? Shouldn't you know where my package is and the tracking? They need some serious help here!!! I am CONSTANTLY getting other people's mail in my PO Box, and not just similar or close by numbers... but sometimes WAY off.. like how TF does that happen? I cringe when a family member says they've sent a card with cash or a check in it. If you have packages delivered, you sometimes either get a slip in your mailbox or a key to one of the lockers that they'll place your package in. Well that system is also flawed!!! I've had lost packages, packages delivered to the wrong box. Packages that show delivered but never were. And the best part about it... the staff could give a fu@k!!! THEY DON'T CARE you're out the money, they don't care that Christmas gift you ordered for your kid got given to someone else by mistake... they just don't effing care. The post master once wrote me a letter saying they "lost my package" so I could give it to the eBay seller I purchased an item from in order for that seller to send me out another item, you know what that eBay seller said??? While our regular mail delivery person is quite fantastic, during the holidays they seem to employ temporary carriers. Who don't deliver packages (even when you are home!), don't leave notices (thank goodness for mobile tracking updates), and when you have to come in to pick up a package? Forget it. This location up here is filled with the most inefficient employees ever. Unorganized, understaffed, and untrained. Which considering it seems the same employees have worked here for 4+ years, they would have their job down. I only come here when I have to, I.E., to retrieve a package that they refuse to deliver. If I need proper postal services I either use the CPU at Rancho Drugs, print from home and drop off, or go to the Victorville location. Waiting 30 minutes to pick up a package is ridiculous!!!!
