They gave me a reasonable quote and they work in conjunction with Social Moving Group until I scheduled the move. After all of my stuff was loaded on their truck, they advised that now I am charged for them walking from the elevator to my storage unit, tape, a box and several other ridiculous fees. Once my items were delivered, the photos speak for themselves. The delivery men who were outside contractors and had purchased my freight from US relocation/Social Moving group. I am a single, professional woman who moved from Georgia to Texas. I hired this company for packing, moving and unpacking services. They provided me with an over-the-phone quote of $3800. On my moving day, the movers packed my things into the truck and then demanded that the fee be $5700 which included a rate increase of $1.00 per cubic foot. When I attempted to inquire about the increase, Ben, the owner responded to me harshly and threateningly. The moving process was difficult and ever changing with this company. The unpacking process was unbelievable--despite paying an extra $500 for these services. First of all, the movers continued to ask that I deliver them lunch (even though I was out of state), and later they demanded that I wire them a tip for unpacking. As for the quality of the unpacking, a large portion of boxes were still taped shut in my living room--no attempt to unpack had been made. In addition, unpacked items were not placed in the proper rooms (as promised), and the movers did an unacceptable job placing items respectfully (my jewelry was in the floor of my closet, hanging clothes were wadded up in baskets, the guest closet looked like an episode of "the Hoarders," etc.). Also, a 3 foot scratch now marks my living room hardwood floors. My house had been professionally cleaned prior to the movers but was covered in empty gatorade bottles, grass and dirt when they finished. Lastly, the movers left my house with the garage door up, all the doors unlocked and the front door ajar. I regret having an over-the-phone quote and for selecting this company for hire. We hired them to move me ten miles up the road from my old place. Once we arrived at my new place one of the guys comes in and starts filling out paperwork. He then asks me when my mother will be there so she can pay them. Not a single box has been brought in yet. Unprofessional. The next day my daughter discovered a box containing most of her clothes was missing. We searched the house and even the old apartment and didn't find it. Obviously it had been left on their truck. I hate to write reviews, and it's very rare that I do in fact; however, I've been waiting on my furniture since August 10th when I moved out of Atlanta, GA to New Jersey. I had an agreement that I would ONLY be able to receive my stuff on the weekend due to my work schedule at the time. US Express asked if they could deliver my stuff to New Jersey the following Wednesday after they were 'completing a job in Virginia', I subsequently responded saying that I can only do Saturday/Sunday and they mentioned that it will be unlikely because they were doing a job in Vermont during that time. A few weeks had gone by and I still hadn't heard from US Express, so I decided to call them and ask if I can change my address to my apartment in New York (this was August 29th) since the only reason I wanted my stuff delivered to New Jersey was so that it can be held in storage until moving into my apartment on September 1st. After calling one of the "delivery guys" named Sean, he said that he was busy and would return my call afterwards. It was Tuesday September 3rd and I hadn't heard from him since Thursday August 29th, and I've been getting the complete run around. Currently my valuables (e.g., clothing, bed set, books, etc.) are being held hostage - they wanted to charge me an additional $800 to change my address from Millburn, NJ to my place in Manhattan (roughly 35 mins away) to cover storage, which is absolutely baffling as they were the one's who couldn't deliver my stuff due to their schedule. The unprofessionalism I've experienced using their service has been absolutely egregious and I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. They've had my stuff since August 10th and I'm currently sleeping on the floor because I have no furniture nor any other belongings. I asked Jessica, one of the workers who answered over the phone, to email me the paperwork and receipt that I had signed on August 10th, and she mentioned that she doesn't have it and that she would reach out the delivery guys who packed my stuff since they have it, which is another sign that this place operates with an unmatched level of disorganization and unprofessionalism. Lastly, they wanted a $200 deposit the form of a credit card payment, the first half of the payment in cash, or a 10% extra fee for using credit (obviously this disincentives one to pay with card), and the last half could ONLY be paid in cash once the delivery is completed (huge red flag!!). Update: I received my stuff after paying the balance on the receipt following at 2 hours of arguing with the delivery guy. There's no way I was paying an additional arbitrarily determined amount of $800 on top of my ~$600 balance. I received my belongings and they had broken my bed frame (the wood was split) and my dresser mirror was shattered! You get what you pay for, the reviews don't like. Where do I begin.. Needed my goods moved from Atlanta to New York. Got a call from John who seems like a pretty nice guy. I sent a rough idea of the stuff I had to move since they were in storage but I did add a few extra items on my inventory sheet just in case. I got my quote and I said that sounds good I will book you. Got my day that I wanted my goods delivered as well. Ladies and gentlemen. Oh boy. The movers arrived the day of pick up. There were two young guys who came in. They started packing up my stuff. First off all I had glasses and stuff in bins etc that needed to be wrapped. I saw one of the guys just putting stuff in bins without wrapping so I asked if he could go get wrapping paper. He said sure. 10 minutes he comes back we don't have wrapping paper will have to make a note and wrap it at the warehouse. I said ok. When they were done they handed me a paper which I was charged an extra $600 for. I understood that I had items that I did not mention in the inventory. I called Ben who was the guy in charge and told him I was not paying there is no way my stuff can come up to an extra $600. He went into detail about cubic square or whatever it's called. He agreed to weight the items and then I'll get my exact price. I was fine with that. Guess what? It sure was not an extra $600 extra, it was half the price. A week later which is suppose to be my deliver date, I call Ben to see what time the movers were expected to be here so I can plan out my day. The response was" your stuff is now being loaded on the truck". I was livid. And he went on saying how my paperwork should say that I should have my items 3 to 7 days from pick up. Ok you all picked up my items on a Saturday and I wanted it the following Saturday. He went on to say that my stuff should be here in the next 3 days I said ok. I have work so I can organize with the movers to let them know what time I get off. First off all the weekday was an inconvenience to me. Ben said "can not just leave work for an hour just to meet the movers and go back to work?" First off all I was already upset with my stuff not being here. Secondly, because of where I live in NY and having to take the LIRR to get home it would have been more than an hour. Day of delivery arrived. I paid my balance. Stuff is being unloaded. I noticed one of my tables that was wrapped at the warehouse was unwrapped and the legs looked like they had been ripped off. I start going through my stuff and noticed I was also missing stuff. I called Ben the next day. He said he was out the office to send him an email and he will get back to me. I did said an email. It has been 5 days and still no respond in regards to my missing items and broken items received. This is just ridiculous. I was reassured by John that I would have been taken care of and I wasn't. US Express Relocation was able to move me across state for the best price as part of a DIY military move. I priced 5 companies and theirs was the lowest price per lb. Them and 4 other companies all estimated the same weight and volume based on the packing list. I decided to go with US Express Relocation because they were the best price and were able to say "We will pick up on this day" rather than a set of 3 days so my father (pick up location) wouldn't missed extra work. They arrived on time and went to work. They were loaded quickly and provided the final weight ticket and honored the price/lb (even though my dad added a few boxes I didn't account for or tell them about!). It went to the warehouse for 2 nights then was delivered 2 days later. The delivery guys- Noel and Daniel were awesome! Everything was wrapped in blankets thoroughly! The guys were very careful with our new walls and set up our furniture beautifully. When we couldn't find the finials (pieces at top of posts of headboards) they looked everywhere for them and even called the guys who packed us up. The ones who packed us that they were wrapped in blankets and secured separately to protect them and said exactly where they were. The guys weren't going to leave until they were located, even know I know they had places to be. They wanted us to be happy and in the end we were more than happy with their hard work! Lastly, Ben, the owner, has been more than helpful as I need special things for filling out the military paperwork. When a scan wasn't clear enough for the approving person, he went back in his records, pulled the file and sent me photos. NIGHTMARE!!! They made our cross-country move from Georgia to California a very stressful and unpleasant experience. We went to their office to meet Ben (owner) in person just to make sure everything was in order. He was all smiles, shook our hands, looked us in the eye, and promised everything would be just fine - "trust me," he said. Our stuff ended up being delivered DAYS ahead of schedule. Once we stopped allowing Ben to just tell us to trust him and that everything would be fine, he became EXTREMELY inflexible, unhelpful, angry and condescending. We had to organize our friends and landlord to open our house, receive our things, and pay the drivers (in cash!) from THE MIDDLE OF THE ARIZONA DESERT!! We went with the cheapest movers we found, and this was the experience we had. Ben is horrible. The driver who delivered out stuff was horrible. Moved from Alpharetta, GA to Houston, TX. I was given one quote amount for 3 bedrooms and living room furniture and then was charged twice as much for less stuff mentioned. The movers then had to bring another truck because they filled the first one with our stuff and other people stuff. The second truck of items never showed up so we have table with no legs, furniture pieces, and undelivered items that are stated to still be setting in their facility. I booked through US Express Relocations and asked specifically if they were a third party and agent, Jessica said no. On moving day, I had to call twice to figure out when they were coming and when they finally showed up the paperwork said Social Moving Group. I questioned this, and Ben said they were a sister company. Sounded kind of sketch, but proceeded with the process. My items were picked up 12/29 and explained to Jessica I was flexible and wanted the items to get there around 1/6. She said that should not be a problem. I did not get my furniture until 1/12 and it was with another company David and Goliath. I had just started a new job and had to take the second day off. Four guys showed up and it took them almost 6 hours and I really did not have that much stuff. They were complaining the entire time. Their truck broke down in my apartment complex and is currently still parked here. I reported the company to BBB and received a text from Ben "thanks for the complaint". I had my belongings stored in a storage unit in another state; of course this would be considered a long distance move. Well, my move in date to my new apartment wasn't going to be until two weeks after my first phone call. Well, the "salesperson" I worked with, was in a hurry to get the key to my storage unit. I was confused as to why they needed it so soon. Well, I found out too late. They take your belongings and store them in a separate storage facility. Now before this happens they require a 200 dollar deposit (you pay using your credit card), and you receive "your estimate." Well, once they get your belongings, you receive a "new contract." I hardly think that I need to write a review as there are so many negative reviews already on line but here goes. We sold our home fully furnished in North Georgia and wanted to move my wife's beloved Baby Grand piano to our new home in Utah. I contracted with US Express Relocation to do the move and paid them an initial $300.00 deposit. In few days I received a call from the owner that if I would express mail to him a bank check for the additional amount due to him of $800.00 then he would have the piano on a truck the very next day. More then 2 months passed and numerous calls to the owner almost every week. He continually used Covid as an excuse that no trucks were heading West. This was BS of course as the trucking industy did not shut down. Finally, I contacted another mover who said that they could pick up my piano from his warehouse right after the the New Year holiday. I notified Ben that I had made these arrangement and I wanted my deposit back. THEN A MIRACLE HAPPENED. He called me and said that he could get my piano shipped the very next day. It arrived at our home in Utah in 4 days and when it was unpacked and set up 1/3 of the keys were jammed together and inoperable. We contacted a piano repairman who was able to do the repair and told us that the packaging was faulty. he said that flexible foam should have been used to stabilize the keys during the storage and shipping process and none was used which caused the damage. Save your time and your money. This company loves hidden fees! I was quoted 1600 for a move from Nashville to Dallas. Upon pick up they charged me an extra $75 as a warehouse fee to hold my items. The driver even told me "Well it is a hidden fee it is in the contract in this little print." He was right! Then before delivery the movers wanted to charge me extra for a stair fee that I already paid. After I text the movers the copy of my contract with the fee on it already paid then they agreed to move me. Upon entry to my residence the movers then said I needed to pay an additional $150 stair fee. I got one stair fee free, paid for one and had to pay for two more flights because I'm on the third floor. Apparently a flight of stairs is 8 steps. I called John the manager at US Express and he proceeded to argue with me and then hung up in my face when I said I will report them to the Better Business Bureau. What a bunch of crooks. read more

First, the reason I went with this company is because they promised to have my things delivered by a certain day just to gain agreement and failed to execute on their agreement. I contacted Ben of Social Moving Group (SMG), Norcross, GA, AKA: US Express Relocation, regarding a move from Carson, California to West Palm Beach, Florida. I contacted him because I had previously used this company to move my son from Atlanta, GA to California. During that move Ben came to my son's residence in Atlanta, surveyed the goods, and provided a price estimate. The move went as planned and the price never changed. My son's goods were delivered without any damage.That led me to trust Ben and the company. Upon my move to Florida, Ben analyzed my goods by telephone. I went from room to room and told him what furniture I wanted to be moved. Ben provided an estimate of $3,900, which included the furniture and up to 75 boxes. I agreed and provided a $500 deposit. Pick up date was scheduled for February 25, 2017. Unbeknownst to me, Ben acted as a broker and subcontracted the job. He never informed me about this. I thought that SMG was picking up and delivering my goods. On moving day, February 25, another moving company (United Moving & Storage) came to my residence in California, accessed my goods, and said the cost would be $8,000. Words cannot explain the anguish and betrayal I felt. I told the representative from United that I could not afford to pay $8,000. The United rep told me than Ben had charged me an high rate at $7.00 per square cubic feet, and that my goods would require twice the space provided in the estimate. The United rep and Ben were on the phone on and off for about an hour before the United rep indicated that $6,000 was the final price. I initially said no, but eventually agreed because everything had been packed and my plane to Florida was leaving in just a few days. I didn't have time to find another company. I had to pay one half of the balance at that time. I called Ben. I was livid. He basically told me that I could have found another company. He said that the United rep indicated I had big furniture. I expressed to him how unfair this was: for a customer to have to experience such a shock on moving day. I questioned him about big furniture as opposed to medium or small furniture, since he never asked me about the size of my furniture. I told him an estimate should never be $2,000 more than a quote. I expressed how unprofessional and deceptive this is. My goods arrived on March 10th by a company called Honest and True Moving. I have no idea how many times my goods have been transferred from one location to another. Much of my furniture is heirlooms of high value. My furniture arrived on March 10th. My furniture was damaged to a degree where some of it had to be trashed. The movers from United wrapped tape on my antique leather sofa and chair. The color came off when the movers from Honest and True Moving removed the tape. The movers indicated that the furniture was poorly packed and should have been wrapped in plastic, and not taped. The leather on my furniture was aged as if it had been outdoors in extreme weather for an extended period of time. The box spring of my king sized mattress was so filthy until I had to trash it. A leg was broken and the frame was cracked on my antique chair. A leg was broken on my metal table. A leg was broken on my nightstand table and the marble top was also broken. Two antique mirrors were broken. A decorative tree was destroyed. A vintage floor lamp was broken beyond repair. My brand new lamp shades were destroyed. Additionally, I didn't receive a couple of boxes, and didn't realize it until I had completely unpacked. I would never recommend this company to anyone. My advice to anyone moving, especially across county, is to hire a full service moving company that will come out and physically access your goods. Inquire into if they will contract the job or do it themselves. I honestly thought that SMG was that type of company, but it is far from it. SMG is an unprofessional and dishonest company. They should have told me that the job was being subcontracted and I would have never used them. read more

So, here's my story. I was moving from Woodstock GA to Philadelphia area. I usually go with Allies our one of the larger moving companies. I had misplaced the # for the previous company I had used and submitted a request. I got a call from someone at US Express and when I called back, I got someone named John. He told me he was the owner, he isn't, he is a salesman. He told me, they weren't a broker, they are. He told me they have a fleet of trucks going up and down the coast, they don't. I wish I had known this before. Day of the move, the guys showed up when they said they would. All good. Ben called to check in, I again asked if the faye of delivery was still the faye agreed to before I put down the deposit with John and again when they called to confirm the pick up. All was good. Then on a lark the next day, I called to see how my move was going. They said it was good, still good for delivery that week. Cool I thought. The day before I was to move up to Philly, I called to see the time and faye of delivery. After much running around, they told me my stuff hasn't left Atlanta yet! Say what? Then the delivery mgr said it could take up to 3 weeks before I would get my stuff. That's when I lost it and said, that wasn't the agreed terms. He said I could pick up my stuff if I didn't like it. I bit the bullet and tried to plead to their better selves. He said call the next day and he would get me more info, I called and he said try again the next day. I called John and said he had led to me and taken me for a ride. John didn't care. Finally on Friday, I got a call that my stuff would be delivered the next day. But the next day turned out to be Sunday. Thank goodness, I had enough money in the bank to pay those guys. They wanted more money to move the stuff to the 2 nd floor. I told them the money I have them was all I had. They reluctantly moved what needed to be moved. Here's my tip: Go with someone else. The only reason they are getting 2 stars and not half of 1 star, is because of the delivery mgr and Ben for working diligently to get me my stuff. read more

But after using US express relocation, I think all the 5 stars reviews were fake. I think they were trying to bring up their rating by posting fake positive reviews to lure more customers. This is my story. I moved from Birmingham, AL to Oklahoma City. They were scheduled to pick up my stuff on August 13, 2016. I didn't get a phone call from them updating me on what time they would arrive. I waited until the day before and they still didn't call me so I called them and was told that they were going to arrive around 12:00 pm. I never got a phone call in the morning so I had to call them again asking for an update. Again, they told me they were going to be late and would arrive at 4:00 pm. I feared this was going to be a recurrence and I was right. They kept pushing the pick-up time back until they said they wouldn't arrive until the next morning (Aug 14), not really giving me a reason why they were late. Meanwhile, I lost $100 on a hotel I reserved and could have cancelled but I foolishly believed their promises and went past the cancel time limit. I put my desired delivery date as August 17. They did NOT come until September 12. After my desired date passed, I called them a few times a week asking for an update as I never once received a phone call from them. Most of the time, they wouldn't pick up my phone call so I had to call them multiple times. Every time I called, they would give me attitude giving me excuses and saying they are trying their best. They finally arrived with my stuff almost a month after the pick up date and luckily I did not lose anything but some of my stuff was damaged. Please do not use US Express Relocation. I should have done my research, as simple as coming here and reading the ones left by other reviewers. I am kicking myself to have made the decision of going with them. Its been more than 2 months and I am still waiting for my goods arrived. They left Alabama in June and Yesterday the crooks who delivered my goods in June and they were loaded, unloaded probably 3 times. Last night was the worst the crooks who were to deliver arrived a grand 7 hours late, with less than 24hrs notice, in the end they did not deliver because I did not have the $75 cash on hand on top of what was initially decided on the phone. The delivery guys were the least aholes in this whole ongoing saga, BEN, JOHN and whoever the local delivery guys they choose to contract out for the last minute delivery will screw you and hold your belongings as ransom. The US Express Relocation team arrived on time, and the 3 team members had the boxes and furniture from my my 1-bedroom apartment on the moving truck in under an hour. The team was friendly and efficient, leaving no damage on my apartment walls. All furniture items were wrapped in plastic sheets or moving blankets for protection. I found additional items to pack this morning and they were able to adjust the agreement within minutes. Great work. read more

HORRIBLE. DO NOT USE. Compared to everyone else, they gave me the best estimate. Because of my tight budget, I went with it, knowing most estimates went up. By the time I finished with their added costs, mine went up $1000. I moved from Georgia to San Francisco, CA. I spoke with John of US Express Relocation Services, who assured me I would not be working with Ben of Social Moving Group. John seemed trustworthy. Unfortunately, once the deposit was paid, the documents I received said Social Moving Group on them. No matter what anyone tells you, US Express Relocation Services = Social Moving Group. They are difficult to communicate with and unprofessional. They damaged a lot of expensive items, like furniture, rendering them not usable. I am filing a claim and that process was made difficult because they wouldn't return phone calls or emails to explain how to do it. John is the best to deal with and actually seems like he cares about his business. Ben will never call you back or email you back, unless he is asking for money. I had purchased a number of tough rubbermaid and sterilite boxes, the extra strong kind made for garage and outdoor storage. They crushed these. They were so deformed from being mishandled that they cannot be reused because the lids no longer fit. All of my wardrobe boxes were crushed open. That means I'll be doing a lot of laundry and dry cleaning.. something I didn't factor in since I took care to pack my things nicely for easy unpacking. All I can say is that even if they are the only ones that fit in your budget, don't use them. Their estimated price is way off your actual price. Then, your stuff will be damaged and missing and you'll spend more time and money because of that. Though they picked up my stuff on July 30, they did not deliver it until Aug 17. I asked for a delivery and set up a move appointment with my HOA and they were still late. That is ample time to move from Georgia to CA, especially since it only took 4 days to ship my car. This was the first time I didn't move myself with a Uhaul or move with a pod. I severely regret that decision. Made my move more stressful than it should have been. I don't know what they did in between loading and loading my stuff, but they were disrespectful and have no regard for the property of others. This review may change your mind on Using US Express Relocation. Below are the facts (no emotion, just facts) My summary is that Us Express Relocation is: 1. Not reliable (2 days instead of 1) 2. Incompetent ($8046 wrong in their on-site estimate) 3. Dishonest (never got the $750 discount) The only positive I can say, is that the actual people picking up the boxes were great. The rest....not so much 1. Incompetent: John and Ben visited my house. John came twice. Original quote $12227.05. After loading the truck on day 1, they increased the quote by $8046. So, although they visited onsite, told me they were experienced in quoting, they were wrong by $8046 (65%). And waited to tell me once the truck was 92% full. 2. Incompetent: they said this would be a 1 day pack. It took two days. 3. Not Reliable. John said they would be there between 8-9. Ben told me 9-12. Actual arrival just before 1pm. ZERO curtesy call about being late. The truck only arrive after 1:30pm 4. Not Reliance: at destination, told they would deliver July 12. Actual July 13. 5. Dishonest. Meritt (apparently CFO) indicated before packing second truck on second day that he would provide $750 discount if volume was 1400 CF. He said "I am looking you in the eye. I will take care of you". Never received discount. 6. Dishonest. John said "we will have to packed even if I have to come pack myself". Only to find out later, that he was actually driving to the Carolinas. Most annoying aspect. This is my 4th interstate move.. US Express Relocation was the worst moving company expreience. The most annoying aspect, is they kept saying "I know moving can be stressful". If I could leave a -5 star I would. Do not use this company. WARNING!!! My pickup date in Atl was 6/13/18, I'm relocating to LA. My items were held in their possession until 6/23/18, that's 10 days. On the 10th day my items were shipped. I explained that I would have access to my new residence on 6/15, and that I want my delivery the following week. I actually said I want my items delivered by 6/22/18 at the latest. I called the 1-888 number and spoke to Jennifer who has told me there is never a guarantee when delivering furniture. Well after numerous calls of me calling them, I still don't have my furniture as of 6/28. I was able to talk to the delivery driver today 6/28, and he said he wouldn't be in the LA area until July 2nd or 3rd....! The driver also said that that's not for sure because he needs a permit to deliver my furniture because of the size of the street)2way street, and that he'd have to contact the police to get the ok to deliver... Are you serious??? Before I gave my deposit to the rep, I explained to John that my items are for work and if you can't deliver the following week, please let me know and I'd find another company. John said that definitely wouldn't be a problem. Well it's been nothing but problems and a big headache since 6/13/2018. This is a severe WARNING, not to even call this company for a quote... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY . 07/01/2018, just received a call from the delivery driver, demanding that I pay an additional $300, $75 dollars in cash directly to him. He claims that he cannot access my 2 way street due to the location. I explained to him that they are building a large apartment complex directly across the street and there are large trailers here all of the time. Ben was on the line too and he told the delivery driver to take my items and dump them in storage. Just to let you know that I have 3 contracts with 3 different amounts hat this company has changed, after we have agreed to the original. US EXPRESS RELOCATION, still cannot explain why they kept my furniture in their possession for 10 days. I got a sudden promotion at work and had ro move my 4 bedroom house in a matter of months. With the added stress of preparing for a new position in my company, US Express was a life saver. And Jessica kept me on the right side of sanity. I opted to have them pack aswell as transport my belongings.
