We recently hired Home Insulation Experts for a major insulation project at our home, and the…read moreentire experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. It is rare to find a contractor that combines professionalism, responsiveness, technical expertise, and outstanding customer service as well as this company does. From the very beginning, John demonstrated an exceptional commitment to customer satisfaction. After visiting our home to assess the project, he delivered a detailed proposal in less than 12 hours. More importantly, he took the time to thoroughly answer all of our questions during the site visit and continued to provide guidance afterward, even making himself available for a phone call outside normal business hours. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution, John carefully listened to our concerns and customized the project to meet our home's specific needs. His dedication and attention to detail gave us complete confidence in moving forward. Once the project was awarded, the office staff continued to impress us. They expertly guided us through the process of obtaining the Whole Home Energy Solutions rebate and financing offered through our utility company. Every email and phone call was answered promptly, and they consistently kept us informed, ensuring the project remained on schedule and stress-free. The installation itself was equally impressive. Jamal and his team were on-site throughout the project and consistently went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of the work met the highest standards. Jamal patiently answered my many questions and took the time to explain each phase of the process in detail. His professionalism, knowledge, and commitment to quality workmanship were evident. Part of the project also involved Shawn and his team, who upheld the same exceptional standards. Shawn was an absolute gentleman, and his team's professionalism, courtesy, and attention to detail further reinforced the culture of excellence that clearly exists throughout the company. What impressed us most was the consistency of the experience. From the initial consultation to project completion, every member of the Home Insulation Experts team demonstrated integrity, responsiveness, expertise, and a genuine commitment to customer satisfaction. It is clear that this company takes great pride in both its work and its customers. We give Home Insulation Experts our highest possible recommendation without hesitation. If you are considering an insulation project, you can feel confident that you are hiring a company that truly delivers on its promises and goes above and beyond at every stage. We look forward to working with them again in the future and will certainly consider them for HVAC services as well.

I had work done by Home Insulation Experts just before Summer of 2023. The sales pitch by John was great. He explained exactly how he was going to try to improve my cape cod style house's insulation, specifically in the attic area. Here is the scope of work, word for word from the paid invoice: "Make an opening in the attic peak/ceiling, Air seal and blow in 790 sq/f of R49 cellulose insulation in the peak floor and slopes (once done close the opening with sheet rock and rough spackle only, no paint). Install 410 sq/f of R13 faced fiberglass batt insulation on the 4 crawl space knee walls (2 we will need to make openings). Drill holes into the 4 crawl space floors and blow in 400 sq/f cellulose insulation, once done seal the holes with wood plugs. Install a 2X3 frame in both sliding crawl spaces doors and fix inside 2" foam board insulation." After the work was done there was ABSOLUTELY NO NOTICEABLE IMPROVEMENT in the Summer or the Winter. I decided to give the insulation idea another shot, but this time I went with another contractor. The new contractor I started working with in early May 2024, when he began the job, explained to me that the knees walls were not sealed and that no cellulose had been blown into the crawl space floors (basically he told me that almost all the work that was done by Home Insulation Experts was providing no value). The insulation was basically sitting on top of the floor in the crawl spaces which provided no insulation help. He also showed me that 3 of my AC ducts were completely disconnected, which was something I suspected occurred while they were doing the job, but wasn't able to prove until the crawl spaces were re-opened. The contractor who just performed the work for me before the Summer of 2024, and did the job the right way by sealing the knee walls and drilling and spraying in cellulose below the floor board cost about the same out of pocket for me (About $4000) as home insulation experts BUT THIS TIME THE IMPROVEMENTS WERE INCREDIBLE. My AC no longer struggles to keep up with the rising temperatures (as proven during the recent heat wave this June). This was something that was a constant source of stress. Also, based on my smart meter usage, my energy usage (based on the same temperatures last year vs. this year as measured so far this summer vs. last summer) are down 25% during the mid 90 degree temperatures. Basically I did an apples to apples comparison based on temperature. Last thing I want to mention. I did reach out to John to see if he could do the right thing and at least compensate me for the work that I was contracted with him for not getting done, but he basically said this is off the table. He said "I will come and fix the job." My response was "You didn't do it right the first time, so why would I just repeat that experience again." He wanted me to drop my current contractor and let him fix the issues instead. WHY DIDN'T ANYONE CHECK THE WORK WHEN IT WAS DONE LAST SUMMER? I saw that as an insincere gesture after I had caught his company in a lie (To John's defense, he never showed up again so he wouldn't know if the job was done right or wrong). I hope this helps anyone looking to do a similar project. My suggestion is, hire a company where the person making promises (be it the sales person or owner) shows up when the real work begins. The owner of the recent company I used was actively involved and serious about quality. Make sure you make this a priority.

Atticare - Our wallington NJ team

Atticare

(95 reviews)

Heads up -- this is a detailed and honest review…read more I reached out to Atticare after PSE&G completed a home energy assessment on my hundred‑plus‑year‑old home. The assessment wasn't bad, but they did recommend re‑insulating my attic due to the age of the existing insulation. When I contacted Atticare for an estimate, I learned they partner directly with PSE&G on home energy‑efficiency projects, which immediately made the process smoother. Stephen (Inspection & Sales) - Stephen arrived exactly at the scheduled time and was friendly from the moment he walked in. He inspected my attic, measured the square footage, and walked me through all available insulation options. No upselling...just available options. Based on our conversation about my high winter heating bills, he also suggested that my outer walls likely needed insulation. Before giving me any pricing, he made sure I understood that Atticare would secure the best possible PSE&G rebate. They ultimately obtained a sizable rebate (free money!) and a 0% loan for 72 months billed as part of my monthly utilities bill, which allowed me to insulate all three floors of outer walls in addition to the attic. Nick & Crew (Attic Insulation) - Nick and his team also arrived right on time. He explained the scope of work clearly and determined the most efficient way to complete it. His crew worked quickly and had the entire attic insulated in under a day. Victor & Crew (Outer Wall Insulation) - Like Stephen and Nick, Victor and his team were punctual and professional. Because my home's exterior is stucco, he explained the indoor insulation process in detail. His team moved furniture away from the outer walls, covered everything with plastic sheeting, and got to work. I will note that dust mitigation could be improved for walls and furnishings -- not a dealbreaker, but tightening that up would elevate the experience even further. The outer wall insulation work took a bit longer than expected due to the number of holes that needed to be drilled, patched, and painted, but the team handled it diligently. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the services provided and am genuinely looking forward to seeing a decrease in my heating and cooling bills. Not only would I recommend Atticare -- I already have.

It was a complete mess, had signs of rodents, and something was leaking through to our bedroom ceiling below Bob was an absolute delight. In a couple days, he came and took a look, assured me it could be cleaned out, sealed to prevent rodents and energy loss, and even though they don't typically do wall work, could put a temporary seal in place A couples day later, the team was here. In under 3 hours, the space looked completely restored. I could even use it for additional storage space now if I wanted too. So in case it wasn't clear, I would absolutely recommend Atticare NJ and would use them again. The professionalism, timeliness, and attention detail are just a few of the reasons

I had to put in window units upstairs even though I have central air conditioning, because it was always hot in summers. Ralph came by, looked at the crawl space, and suggested that it was my attic that needed more insulating. I didn't even know I had an attic because the home inspection report said a previous addition upstairs was the attic itself. Ralph was right. He gave me a quote, didn't try to upsell me, and answered other heating and cooling questions I then had. The crew, led by Francisco, were three hardworking and polite guys who neatly cut a small hole in my upstairs ceiling, blew in fiberglass, went into the crawl space, vacuumed it entirely, cleaned the transfer grille that was located at the top of the staircase (bad location), and closed everything back up. If you have uneven temperatures or think you need a new unit, get your attic insulation looked at, even if it's inaccessible to you. Not a DIY job. Let these guys do it, it's all they do and they know their stuff.
