My heroes! My boiler broke down during the weeks of 20 degree weather. They answered my call on a Saturday, came out within an hour, diagnosed the issue AND had the part and fixed it. And were even prepared to loan me space heaters if they couldn't fix it immediately. Reasonable prices too, especially for an emergency on a weekend. Highly recommend! read more

Owner responded back stating there was a misunderstanding between him and the employee. He didn't mention that I was there when the call was made to the owner. The employee stated clearly the issue and didn't believe I should have been charged. However, I heard the owner over the phone say to charge us. In respond to being contacted. Interesting that he remembers this after almost 2 years. He remembers calling, texting, coming to my home? If he had offered the refund, why would I not take it? Since, he stated he made a mistake and should not have charged me, the right thing to do is mail me my check of $234 if indeed he is an honest person. Based on his response, this is another reason why I will only give him 1 star. read more

Rich Hoffman and his team did an amazing job rerouting our kitchen sink. Their work was fast, clean and no holes for me to patch up. I was so impressed by their expertise and professionalism. I will always recommend them for all Plumming needs. read more

Stay away from Rich Hoffman. His anger management issues aside, I contracted him to clear the main sewer drain. His team came immediately and used a snake, which appeared to resolve the problem. However, 6 days later the drain was clogged again and overflowed into our basement. I called him to return and he told me that I needed a Jetter instead, which he didn't have. Had he used a camera to diagnose the problem, he would have known that a snake wouldn't have fixed it. Had he used a camera after the job to confirm the the drain was clear, he would have known that it wasn't. He never stood by his job. When I called him to discuss a partial refund, his anger management issues, bad attitude and overall rudeness were in full display. Who needs to deal with an angry plumber who doesn't guarantee the work? I had to pay for another plumber to come. He first diagnosed the problem with a camera and then told me that it needed a jetter (not a snake). When he was done, he used the camera again to make sure it was clear. He fixed it, guaranteed it for 60 days, and one week later, he hasn't yet asked for payment to make sure all is good. Reliable, trustworthy and guarantees the work. If you are interested, see my review for his company. read more

We had an oil to gas conversion done by Rich and his crew. Apparently this is not a desirable job for plumbers. I called many plumbers who never returned my calls or flat out just said, "I don't do that." Fortunately, I left a message with Rich and he soon called me back. This was taking place in early September. We both knew colder weather was coming soon so we got right to it. Rich walked me through the steps and we made a plan together. Determining BTUs of new gas boiler, existing BTU consumption, and determining if we actually had enough gas supply. Next he helped with the permit process. His guidance was on the money. A few days later we were in possession of the required permits. Rich and his crew started quickly by removing our old oil tank and scrapping it. Our town required that we have a receipt indicating that the tank was properly disposed of. He returned the receipt to us. Next up he removed the oil boiler and got the gas unit into place. Hooked up all the pipes, replaced the automatic water feed, and hooked up the electric. Next he replaced a steam radiator. That afternoon, we had the heat rolling! A month later Rich returned to service the new gas boiler and just make sure everything it still functioning as it should. Rich and his guys are super friendly. They posses a great work ethic and are tidy while they are working. The do CLEAN work. My wife really appreciated the time he took to explain things to her. It was comforting knowing all the information since it was a big job. The pricing was fair and in line with what one would expect to pay for a job of this nature. I highly recommend Rich Hoffman for your plumbing needs. Definitely give him a call and get an estimate. read more

I needed to get a plumber to my moms house right away. After several attempts with local plumbers no one was contacting us back! Grant it with COVID going on at least a return call would be appreciated. I was referred to Rich Hoffman through a family member and spoke to him immediately. In turn he understood the severity of the problem and came out immediately. After visiting and diagnosing the problem along with his assistant Phil they went to work immediately and repaired what needed to get done immediately. My 90 year old mother was impressed how meticulous they we're on repairing the problem and they cleaned up the areas wear they worked as if nothing had been done at all! Rich and his crew were very pleasant, honest, no nonsense, punctual, knowledgeable, respectful and charge a fair price. I had a plumbing emergency recently. I contacted Rich and explained the situation. He quoted me a basic price and agreed to come over ASAP. He arrived an hour later and took care of the dirty situation. Rich and his helper were a pure pleasure to deal with. After all was said and done, Rich kept to his original quote. I highly recommend Rich and his company for any of your plumbing needs! read more

Rich did a great job replacing an outside faucet in a not so easy place to get to. Price was more than fair and he's a very easy going guy.

We developed a leak in the 1/2 bath in our basement. I called Rich and texted our problem and told him it was a secondary toilet and not an emergency. Even though he and his employees were tied up with a great many frozen pipe problems, he sent Paul the next morning. Paul fixed the problem and the bill was very reasonable. Definitely a good experience. read more

Great job by Rich. Easy to get in touch with and quick with responses. Would use him again when needed.

These guys at Hoffman Plumbing have saved me now - TWICE. I live in a wooded area where roots get into my pipes. The first time it happened time I called AJ Perri using their $99 pipe-clearing guarantee. The guy from AJ Perri spent 1/2 a day here and opened the pipe to a trickle and considered that meeting the 'guarantee'. He wanted to set up a "camera appointment" for which their office does a hard sell (check their reviews for lots of detail on THAT). Anyway, I then got a referral to Rich from a friend, and he responded right away and completely cleared the pipe after a much shorter period. Fast forward 1 1/2 years and here I am with a major backup from the upstairs bathroom to the kitchen to the laundry room. Rich returned my call within 3 MINUTES and sent a crew first thing in the morning. His crew, Paul and Dan, were efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. It did take a few hours, but they got the job done and the price was fair and reasonable. I can't give these guys a good enough recommendation. Tere are a lot of scammers out there and we constantly have to be on the lookout. Rich Hoffman and his crew live by the credo of a great service for reasonable pay and as a result they deserve their excellent reputation. If you need plumbing or HVAC work, you cannot go wrong with these guys. read more

We had a great experience with Rich and Paul. Before they came over they diagnosed the problem over the phone. Once we had an appointment time, they kept us posted on delays and gave us a heads up before they arrived. While here they were quick, professional, and respectful. They cleaned everything up before they left and did a great job. Will definitely use them again. read more

The reviewers don't lie! A real stand up outfit. Rich could not be any more gracious and helpful. His primary concern is fixing your plumbing issue. It's almost as if the business end comes second and the human aspect is first, he just wants your problem fixed and you satisfied. It's strange, I hope to never need him again, but I can't wait to be able to utilize his expertise *if* another problem arises in the future. read more

Rich at Hoffman Plumbing was extremely responsive and attentive. I called around 230 PM on a Friday and he was able to come to my home by 4 PM! After trying to fix a clog with Drano in my kitchen sink (something Rich explained never to do...), he was able to identify and fix the problem with little effort. I am so happy I called Hoffman Plumbing, as I would have continued to use Drano.. and made the situation much worse. Rich is a local guy with a local business, and I appreciate that level of service even more. I will definitely be calling Rich if I have any problems in the future! read more

We had a gas furnace issue at my mothers house that needed to get resolved. I called 5 different plumbing firms to provide service. The only one to respond was Rich Hoffman. He called back within a day and also texted me. Fortunately another person was able to show us how to resolve the plumbing issue and we contacted RIch to tell him we didn't need his services. I am writing this review because when you have a plumbing emergency you need to have a reliable resource to help you. Rich Hoffman was the only one to respond to our need. We still have not heard from any other of the plumbing firms we contacted. I only rated him 4 stars because he didn't get the chance to further impress us with his work. read more

Rich came to my house because my steam pipe for my boiler had rusted a whole and was leaking in several spot. He was not feeling well and in fact left the hospital and came right over. I hired Hoffman Plumbing to do some plumbing work for my salon. I needed two hair washing sinks installed, a washer/dryer hookup and a new hot water heater installed. Rich responded quickly via phone and text. He was easy to do business with. When we first met he came with a worker, I forget her name (sorry), but she was great. She was super friendly and complimentary of the new space that looked a mess at the time. But she saw my vision and I appreciated her enthusiasm. (Sometimes opening a business can be overwhelming and I needed the encouragement) Throughout the entire process I met a few different workers and they were all polite and friendly. And did a good job. The price was fair and I appreciated that. My first complaint was I wish the "floor sinks" (for hair washing sinks) would have been explained to me a little more. I don't particularly love them, would of liked to hear a different option. 2nd complaint, when it was crunch time and the inspectors were coming I did have to follow up more often to push the process along. I was afraid it wouldn't be done in time for inspection, he had it all under control the whole time. But I wish he would have explained that so that I wouldn't have been worrying. Overall, I would definitely use him again and would recommend using him to others. read more

On the Sunday between Christmas and New Years our main house drain became plugged. We unable to use any water in the house because of this. I called Hoffman Plumbing (based on Yelp reviews) and left a message. Rich Hoffman returned my call within the hour. He needed to contact his co-worker to join him on the job. Rich kept in touch with me via text, several times, to keep me informed of their arrival status. They came mid-afternoon, assessed the problem and fixed it. It was a difficult repair but they had it resolved within a few hours. The price was fair. I hIghly recommend Hoffman Plumbing as I was impressed with both his quick response and good service. read more

Finding a good plumber is like finding a good barber; you have to suffer through a bunch of bad haircuts (or bad plumbing jobs) before you find one you can stick with. Rich is a plumber you can trust in and one who will give you an honest assessment. Going on strong reviews on yelp and google, I called to ask for help on water meter coupling replacement. He actually first declined the work saying that it should be the water company's responsibility which I agreed with and I went back and forth with the water company. Eventually, it turned out to be the homeowner's responsibility, so I called him back and he did the work in about an hour on a couple days' notice. He responds directly to texts on his phone and comes on time. Most importantly, there was no outrageous service fee to just take a look at the issue, just like it used to be. Call these guys and don't suffer through anymore bad haircuts. read more

I called Hoffman Plumbing as his name was given to me by a friend who gave him some rave reviews. I hired him to come to unclog my drain. After a week the sink began to back up again. I called him twice left messages message and he NEVER up to today has not returned my calls. Meanwhile I called another plumber who charged me $50. less than Hoffman and he cleaned the main pipe leading to the clogged sink. I told the plumber that Hoffman said that he snaked 35 feet. His reply was if he did do that he would have been out to the sewer. It has been a month now and my sink works perfectly. The clog was in the main sink pipe on the lower level all he did was clean the sink pipe. He did not have the courtesy t return my calls nor did he stand by his work. He charged enough for nothing!!
