This is a barber shop that knows what they are doing. Everybody is social and friendly. The prices are reasonable and the haircuts always turn out exactly how you asked. I've been going there for 15 years and will continue to do so. You aren't going to find a better place in Catonsville than this read more

Having grown up working in my uncle's 12-chair hair salon in Towson, I learned early on what separates a good hairstylist from a truly great one. My uncle taught me exactly what to look for--precision, consistency, and that innate sense of style that can't be faked. I've been going to US Barbers for over 25 years now, and from day one, I approached it the way I was taught: I observed every barber in the shop before making my choice. It didn't take long to see that this place was full of skilled, talented professionals. Once I found my barber, I never looked back--I've been completely satisfied ever since. The level of service and expertise at US Barbers rivals any high-end salon, but at a fraction of the price. To me, a haircut is a personal service that deserves appreciation, which is why I always tip $5. It's my way of recognizing the craftsmanship and care that go into every cut. US Barbers isn't just a neighborhood shop--it's a hidden gem full of genuine talent. read more

Incredible business! Run by immigrants who love America more than anyone! Always welcoming and the owner even baked goods to give you at the end of the haircut. Very reasonable pricing. Can't recommend them enough. read more

5 star quality haircut for the best price in the city. $15 men's haircuts. Absolutely worth every cent. Located right off Frederick road in the plaza by State Fare. Got the best high fade of my life in under $20 minutes. Family owned top tier barber. read more

Service is reliable, quick, and personable. I am always welcomed by name. I feel as if and know that I have a personal barber.

This is nice as a good job cutting people's hair for a fair price! Ask for a guy named Kevin and he can tell you all the different prices that they have and he's been around for at least 10 years I think! Tell Gary that Stephen M. Wolfe recommended you very highly! I go there as often as I can because the atmosphere is very present and you can watch TV as you are waiting for your turn to for your hair to be cut! read more

I take my son here for haircut . People are very nice and do a great job . They are very virtuous and remember your style, and name . Great place read more

US Barber - Barbers Near Me - Catonsville, Maryland

I've been going there for years. Never had a disappointing haircut. Now my son comes with me every month to get his cut by Mr Kevin. Less expensive than most places around to boot. read more

This is my place. I'm in the military so I get my hair cut about every two weeks. I've always been completely satisfied with my cut at US Barber, no matter who's chair I end up in. But more importantly, everyone there is super friendly, and they make me feel like family when I walk in the door. I find it somewhat laughable that a couple of the reviews criticize the shop for the decor or for the barbers snoozing in their chairs. The shop is like a second home to them. I don't care what the decor looks like - I'm there to get a hair cut, and it's THEIR shop - they can decorate how they want to. And the reason that the barbers are snoozing is that sometimes it gets slow. However, they don't send people home - they hang around so that you don't have to wait long for a cut. I think the LONGEST I've ever waited to get in the chair (been going for about four years) is 7-8 minutes. BOTTOM LINE: Super friendly (like family) and a great cut every time, usually with no wait. read more

Always a great experience. Kevin is very personable, always greets me by name. Always a great haircut and beard trim. I wish I could give them 10 stars! read more

I needed a haircut. Bad. I have been spoiled in the past, getting haircuts from my Mom. No, I'm not that guy who has their Mom shave their head with the Wal-Mart clippers. She's actually a hairdresser. Since I no longer live in the same city (let alone state), I had to find a new barber. I got lucky. US Barber had no line, which is great because because I can barely sit still through a whole haircut, let alone wait for it. Kevin sat me down and had me in and out in about 15 minutes. Not only that, but without much guidance (I never know what to say to a barber) he gave me one of the best haircuts of my life. I'm super happy with it and will definitely be returning. read more

Caveat: I'm a mostly bald old guy. The folks at US Barber are very friendly and soon after I moved to the area knew my name, and remember me each time I walk in. They are quick and always give me exactly what I want. Not much more needs to be said. read more

This is a family-oriented/run shop. The asian decor is a clear giveaway, as are the "resting" arrangements for staff and family. It's a friendly place. No appointments, just walk-ins. I really don't know any barber can earn a living wage, but they seem to do so. Going low-budget is one of the ways to do so. I've been having my hair cut there exclusively for 15+ years, and pretty quickly settled into having my hair cut only by Kevin. The other barbers seem to do a fine job, but Kevin "knows my head", and there's nothing I need to say other than "yes" to his "the regular?", "as usual?" or whatever. His accent is pretty thick, and my hearing getting poorer doesn't help, but he's quite conversational (and about interesting topics), unlike the quiet of most of the rest of the staff. Kevin's conversational style is not annoying at all. If you're not talkative any day, he gets it. I really like this shop, but I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because not everyone will like this place. I go to a barber to get my hair cut, and it gets done well, pleasantly and at a reasonable price. End of story. read more

Just got my haircut at this local Catonsville barbershop. Really enjoyed the quick service and the quality job they did. My barber was Hal and he was very personable and I was done in about 7 minutes. It looks like they do pedicures as well read more

I've practically been to every barber and salon in the Catonsville area and all were either grungy (that's being generous), overpriced, or you had to adhere to an appointment set weeks in advance while still waiting in line for your seat to open up. Total opposite here. I never know when I'm ready for a haircut so having the ability to walk right in and be done in 15 minutes is great. On top of that, the owners and staff are very friendly. I've gone to Kevin a few times and my haircut looks exactly what I asked for. I'm not sure why it's so hard for some places to cut a standard male haircut. Supporting a local small business is always a plus too. I would highly recommend U.S. Barber before going anywhere else. read more

I've tried a bunch of places in Catonsville. This place was the best: fast, friendly, and inexpensive. Kevin and Chau were very nice, made a point to know my name, and I don't think either talked too much (as other people wrote on these reviews). Only complaint - Kevin nicked me a few times during my shave. And the place is CASH ONLY. So keep that in mind. read more

I am very particular about my hair, and I have a couple of difficult cowlick spots. Hau and the rest of the staff do a great job. They are thorough and professional. I've never had a complaint with the job done by any of them. Great prices, and there is rarely a wait. read more

We took my mobility challenged 74-year old Dad there for a hair cut and beard trim and they were awesome! Super accommodating, grood hair cut, great beard clean up and eyebrow maintenance! Really treated my Dad well. Mom and I were thrilled and Dad will be back! read more

I went in here and had my children's (2 and 4) haircut. They were patient, kind, and did a great job. We'll be back.

Well I was considering getting my haircut here... Until I was about to walk in and saw a woman sleeping in the back of the shop through the window. I thought that's odd but whatever. Then I looked in the right side and saw another woman sleeping in one of the barber chairs right in the front. Is this how you run your business? Good luck! read more

Kevin and Chau are very nice and they and their staff do a great job. Never a long wait and the prices are very reasonable. I have brought my family there since their first haircuts and they always come out looking good. Good neighborhood barber. read more

Avoid, got there and the guy was sleeping, he completely ruined my hair. Made a hard part that's wider than an inch completely unprofessional read more

Worst place ever!!!!!!!! I took my young son to get a haircut and we will never come back.. When we walked in I noticed the "interesting" decor but it didn't bother me too much, just looked unprofessional.. We waited for our turn until an older man (never told me his name) was available.. I asked for a bald fade starting at the ears.. Granted my son doesn't like the sound on clippers, it makes him nervous, but he has gotten this hairstyle before at other places after the stylist would take the time to show him the clippers are safe and he calmed down. This man however didn't speak to us at all and was quickly frustrated which made my son more nervous.. I told him multiple times he was being aggressive and rushing while cutting my sons hair and I told him he took the fade up to high but he continued.. When he said he was finished my son had a high and tight cut, he didn't shape up the edges, the bald fade was somehow uneven, and my son had nicks and baby cuts all over his head!!! I told the man I wasn't happy and HE SHRUGS HIS SHOULDERS!! We walked out without paying and took him to a barbar around the corner who fixed it for us.. I would give negative stars if I could read more

Well, it's probably the fastest haircut I've ever had. Very good prices and very fast. It's not the place to go for a salon cut, and there are only about ten choices, which are so similar it's really more like three. For kids, there's basically one cut. But man, they're super, super fast, didn't get any scrapes or scratches, and for a good price too! read more

When I'm on the west side of town I stop at U.S. Barber for a good haircut at a decent price. The barbers working there are personable, particularly the owner, Kevin. The shop is popular, so occasionally there is a wait for the barber you want. But that really isn't a big deal since there are magazines, newspapers and a television to occupy the time before you get your haircut. The prices for a haircut are reasonable and there are special prices for kids and seniors. At Christmas one year, Kevin gave out presents, (mostly beverages as I recall), to his regular customers. It was a very nice gesture, but not surprising given the friendliness of folks who run the business. If you're on the west side, and looking to get a good haircut at an affordable price, US Barber should be your stop. read more

The guy Kevin talks way too much. It was my second time there and this guy Kevin asks where I am from and before I could answer his question..he goes Africa and starts laughing with this other employee in the shop. It was so weird. Haircut he gave me isn't great. read more

Very disappointed with my past few visits. The barber rushes, and does not need do a complete job.

I had been looking for an old school barbershop for a long time. I asked a a LEO that I met where he got his hair cut and he told me about this place. It's about 30 miles from my house, but on the way to the office, so I stop there on the way to or from; and for the most part, you are in a out. Hated dealing with the unisex salons and don't even like that way that sounds... this is a real barbershop. I was raised to believe in vagrancy law, so if someone shakes me down for the cash in my pocket before I leave home, the first place I go is an ATM... think the haircut is $12 and I round that up to 15 and holidays to 20. This barber shop is the only place I go. read more

Worst hair cut in the past ten years. A mid-aged woman did the haircut. She nicked me badly during shave. After the cut, my hair looked terrible. I would never go back to this place. Maybe other hair dressers in the shop would be different. But I would not risk trying again. Worst hair cut period! read more
