This week, I found a transistor radio made in 1988, that was in an unopen package! Works great! Today: friendly pleasant staff Bathrooms: available, must ask staff for unlocking I did find a lot of items with stains (more noticeable in light color sleeveless section) or holes (sweaters). Maybe a side rack available to place damaged items? Or I'll ask someone next time in case they want to remove them. Decent selection despite this, found occasional designer merch like Hugo Boss. Just depends on the donations. Observed a lady repeatedly trying to sneak merch into the bathroom to try on despite repeated friendly reminders by staff not to do so. This is one of the reasons they keep bathrooms monitored. There are no changing rooms but several mirrors available on the racks. I was a little worried after the initial search but I came away with several items to boost my fall and office wardrobe. Thank you!

I really like to browse the home goods as not all Goodwills have as big of a selection. I've gotten several picture frames at heavily discounted prices as well as some small ceramics for decor. The pricing is reasonable especially if the item has some wear and tear. Pictured is a set of 4 white frames I bought at this location that I used to display some riso prints. For item donations, drive to the rear of the plaza and locate the back of the store front. There are workers that will accept the donated items and provide you with a receipt if wanted.

As I was checking out, I was informed by the cashier that Goodwill has a no tag, no sale policy. They wouldn't be able to sell it to me as the object would need to be repriced. I wasn't aware of that and gently pushed back, saying that I really needed a napkin holder for my apartment. The cashier was sweet and actually called a manager over for me. Mind you, the manager was on-site. He immediately turns down any idea of repricing that item. What's the point of being a manager? Also, it still stinks like a cloying, artificial laundry scent. They still haven't fixed that. Needless to say, this is the last time I will be shopping at any Goodwill.

The jeans and pants section is also fairly ok. Sometimes you can find some gems. The only thing that stinks is how the items are priced some weeks ESPECIALLY electronics. Some of the old DVD/CD players are listed at insane prices. I saw a 90s Pioneer 5 disc player without wires and controller with some significant scratches priced at 89.99! Don't know where that pricing came from but that's just ridiculous. Other than that it's a cool store to shop at every once in a while. The younger cashiers in the afternoons are very helpful.

What I found as I rummaged through the racks was clothes unfit to be re-sold. I found a few clothing with paints stains, rips, and what looked like grease marks. The prices here are ridiculous. I managed to find 1 beige top that I liked and it was by the cheap brand SHEIN. I don't own anything SHEIN but it's well known for being a retailer that sales fast fashions for very cheap. The top had no price on it and when I asked the girl at check out they went to the back to check with someone and they told me it'd be $7.99 I left it and went online to see what it goes for in SHEINS website and I found it for $7.29 There were other items I found that definitely seemed marked up. What a rip off! People willingly donate their items for free and these companies make a profit from it. The whole purpose of thrifting is to buy gently used items at affordable prices, but many thrift stores are forgetting to make things affordable and charging prices that are ridiculous when they were given to them for FREE. I'll stick with Assistance League thrift stores, they are truly affordable and are operated by elderly volunteers that are kind and helpful. Truly recommend if you're a thrifter to check out Assistance Leagues, some of the best clothing & deals I have gotten have been with them. I bought a nice pair of Levi's for $4, you won't find prices like that for name brand items at Goodwill anymore. Sad

Volunteer Experience…read more I was a new volunteer, and unfortunately, I did not have a positive experience. While I was processing donations in the back, the woman in charge grabbed my hand and thrust it aside. It was because I reached for a pile she was working on. I found the physical contact upsetting and inappropriate. I did not know her and was new to the organization. She apologized afterward, which I acknowledge, but the incident still has affected me negatively. I was new and made some mistakes, and I understand that this may have been frustrating. However, I found that multiple times she spoke to me to be quite stern. She eventually softened her tone, but I still felt very uncomfortable about the interactions. I contacted the volunteers responsible for training and scheduling to let them know what happened. They apologized and told me that volunteering at Charity's Closet was probably not a good fit for me. I appreciated appreciated their response, but I was disappointed, because I was not told whether the incident would be addressed with the volunteer involved. I am sharing this, because I hope volunteers are treated with patience and respect, particularly those who are new. I hope an experience like mine does not happen to anyone else.
