They were also very helpful for us finding a place that took dogs as we travel with our dog all the time. The condo was perfect for us and my In-Laws. The place was well appointed and had almost everything we needed for our stay. It was close to the beach and downtown. But one of the nicest things was it was very quiet. You could barely hear anyone outside. The bedrooms had very comfortable beds and they even provided some shampoo and soap. We will be renting from them again next year when we come up.

See through curtains in the living room, no curtains in the family room or kitchen. No screen doors to let the cool air in, no AC. Both bathrooms are lacking in luxury. The mstrbdrm bath has a large shower but the water pressure is non-existent. The hallway bathroom with the bathtub is difficult to get into with the toilet right next to it. No grab bars. BeachBum~Shell Beach is all about the $$$. Greed at it's finest! They weren't upfront about anything, unless you asked. Even at that it was a crap shoot whether you'd get an answer. Would I use BeachBum again? No!!!

Our room was clean, spacious and perfect and it had a small Juliette Balcony which had a view of Morro Rock, room #202. It was also very quiet, except for the usual sounds of folks walking by, but generally very quiet. Our room's AC worked well too. Adrian greeted us when we arrived and told us our room would be ready soon, so we walked up to The Siren, one block away for a drink. Adrian was so nice and remembered our names and greeted us everytime she was working the front desk! The breakfast is adequate. I had hot oatmeal one morning with coffee and an orange juice. There is fruit , hard boiled egges and pastries and a waffle maker, but we just wanted coffee and something quick so we didn't stay to make our own waffles. Our room had a tub/shower which was nice! The tub is a standard size. The hot water from the shower was nice a hot too. Located near the Embarcadero where shops and restaurants are located and a couple blocks from town where there are more shops and restaurants. I will definitely return to La Serena Inn! Thank you!

The beds were comfy and like that the input ports for the TV were on a panel beneath the TV for easy access. Lots of surface area to put your stuff and the little corner table was perfect for eating. The folks at the front desk were friendly and the cookies in the afternoon were great. Rooms come with a coffee maker (Good coffee provided), microwave and decent size fridge. I would stay again but would get an upstairs unit with its own balcony. The down stairs rooms open up into a shared patio area. There are partitions but you have to get use to folks walking by you.

The desk clerk acknowledged our request and made no mention whatsoever of an additional charge. Then, only 15 minutes after the normal 11:00 checkout time, we received a call from the front desk telling us we would be charged $50 if we stayed late. We ended up scrambling to pack everything and get out of the room to avoid the charge. Had we been told upfront that there would be a $50 fee, that would have been one thing--but springing it on us after our request had already been acknowledged was really disappointing. The room itself was perfectly fine for the money, but the way the late checkout was handled was not cool and definitely put a damper on the experience.

My sister had a comfortable stay here on our one night stay. There was, however, a huge headache…read moreregarding check in. I was supposed to receive a text or email with check in instructions and also a door code for the room. I received a call on the day of check in regarding this. I told the person on the phone that I had not received either and she assured me that I would receive one before the 3 pm check in. I did not receive the text. When we arrived to the property at the 3 pm check in, we tried to check in at the office but there was no one there. We found the manager cleaning a room. She informed us that she was the one that had called me. So apparently she runs the office and also serves as housekeeping. We went back and forth trying to reset the door code, and during this time, she was also was stressing about cleaning the vacated rooms on time. At the end of everything, she ended up offering us physical keys after all. Physical keys would have prevented the whole 30 min delay! Also, my ID was never checked, and I never had to sign anything regarding incidentals or policies which is usually the norm when you check in to a hotel. My word was just taken for my identity. Now to the room itself. It was perfectly clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a tub/shower combo and small sink. No storage space so be aware of that. There was a fridge, coffee machine and coffee, creamer and sugar provided. There was a TV and fireplace. It was a really cute space. This Inn is also super close to the Embarcadero, restaurants, beaches, etc.

Excellent property management company assistance The house I…read morerented was in a very convenient location in the town of Cambria and centered between Morro Bay and Ragged Point allowing for tons of beautiful area to explore. Due to a circumstance beyond the property managements (Scenic Coast Property Management) control I needed to be relocated. Valerie was in touch with me immediately and not only gave me four different homes to choose from, but she actually took the time to speak to me about each individual house and made sure I picked the right one for rest of my vacation needs. The house they moved me into was an upgrade as well and I was not charged extra for it. It's nice to know that I can depend on someone like Valerie and SCPM to be there if needed. I will definitely be using their services whenever I visit the central coast.

For $350+ a night, I expected a little more. The room looked…read moredecent enough at first, but the strong musty smell and stained carpet quickly changed that impression. We were also tucked way in the back in a dark corner of the property, which wasn't exactly inviting. Then the little things started adding up. The shower curtain rod was pulling out of the wall, the wallpaper around the shower was loose from moisture, and the ice bucket still had trash from the previous guest in it. At that point, it starts to feel less like an older coastal hotel and more like nobody is really checking the rooms. The pool was half empty with green water sitting at the bottom. Maybe it was under repair, but it definitely wasn't usable. Housekeeping is another strange setup. If you want your room cleaned, you have to request it the day before, and then repeat that request every day. You can't just ask for service for your whole stay. At check-in we were told they used to offer complimentary breakfast, but the new company stopped. The alternative was to walk down the street to another hotel and pay about $20. The next morning my wife went for hot water for tea and they were out. The suggestion was to use the coffee maker in the room. That works, I suppose, if you like your tea with a little coffee flavor. The guy at the front desk wasn't rude, but his attitude was very much, "it is what it is." And to be fair, I've stayed in worse places. The difference is, those places usually charged a lot less. For $350+ a night, FogCatcher is asking you to overlook quite a bit.

WARNING!!!!!!! When you check in with a reservation, the staff will try to make you put down a TWO…read moreHUNDRED DOLLAR DEPOSIT IN CASH! I have only ever done hotel deposits via credit card- who carries cash? And why did they expect everyone showing up to check in to have $200 cash with them? We asked what proof/receipt is offered if we went to get cash- they answered: "We put a STICKY NOTE on your paperwork saying you paid and leave it in the back room." Gee how comforting! Anyone who has traveled before knows these are major red flags- I pushed back immediately and asked to speak with the manager on the phone. The manager went off on a rant that someone's credit card didn't work and they broke their tv. How is that my fault? I was there with my mom to visit family and in bed by 9 every night. I was not changing my mind and the manager said they would waive the cash deposit. The front desk employee said he would call me to find an alternative solution- guess what? They never called. Housekeeping services door sign was put up at 8:45 AM on Thursday. We got home close to 830 PM and it wasn't done! We had to go to the front to get more towels. When they actually did service the room a day later, they didn't replace cups, tissues, or toilet paper. They never checked/filled the conditioner in the shower (as my frugal mom uses hotel-provided stuff ha ha) Seriously what kind of place is this? We just chose it because it was cheap and had decent reviews on here- never again. CASH DEPOSITS? WHAT YEAR IS THIS
