This man and office do not deserve your business. In 2014 he performed a complex surgery using old…read moretechniques that left me bed ridden for a month where I lost 25% of my body weight and have still not recovered muscle mass. He then kept billing my parents over $300 a month for followups that he told me where covered on the surgery/etc billing. He was happy to take my parents money while I spent 2+ hours per visit in his waiting room, long my lunch and hours at a job I needed. Then of course the 'required' monthly follow ups he was billing weren't needed for his 1-2 month trip to Spain or whatever in August. Turns out the same $25k+ surgery can have a recovery time under 2 days. And when I had to repeat the surgery due to James poor work and old technique, another $25k, there was minimal need for followup monthly to have my sinuses cleaned out because THEY WERE ACTUALLY CLEAR. This man cost me a massive amount of physical capacity, billed my parents for thousands of dollars he said wasn't required, wastes patient time by ignoring appointment scheduling, is happy to leave you for months to vacation abroad, and needs to get with the times. His practices are dated and his knowledge behind the times. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT start with this office. Visit one with multiple ENTs who can stay up to date on practices and medications. I'm now seeing a doctor who actually can hell me instead of bulking my medical condition to pay for his Spanish villa. And if James would like to ask me about it I'd like to secretly bill his wife for my time. My parents cared and he took them for a ride.

We searched for different options, and are so happy that we landed at the Willamette Valley Cancer Center. First, the front desk including Shirley, Jada, and others is so welcoming, kind, gracious and compassionate. Shirley went out of her way to get us into see Dr. Wells as soon as possible. Jada welcomes each patient, and whoever is with them with a big smile, enthusiastic greeting, and constant warmth and kindness. This process is so daunting, but right from the time you walk in the door- you feel you are in the best of hands. Dr. Wells, his nurses and staff have been wonderful. Dr. Wells treats my dad each time like he is the most important patient in the world. He listens, and explains things thoroughly in a language that my father and our family can understand. When my dad had to go to radiation therapy, the staff there was outstanding. Robby made my dad as comfortable as possible for each and every treatment. Taking an interest in his personal life, and hearing him brag about his grandkids on each visit. Once the immunotherapy treatment began, they continued to treat my father with great grace and kindness. Denise has been super each time. She is kind and patient, without fail. If you are reading this, I'm very sorry. I know you are in a tough spot, and I hope you can have the same success my father is having. I strongly recommend WVCI as a place that will treat you well and care deeply for you in your fight. Good Luck. Bob Hammitt

What happened at Willamette Valley Cancer Center is they gave my dad radiation. They overshot the…read moreradiation on his shoulder and destroyed his lungs. When he had his visit they told him that the cancer had spread to his lungs, which was NOT true. He then received world class cancer treatment out of state and that's where we learned this horrible truth. The cancer itself (skin cancer) could have been treated but the damage on his lungs made it too difficult for him to fight and he did not survive. He went to WVC for help. He trusted them and felt comfortable letting them treat him. And in return they were careless and killed an otherwise very healthy and active man. It was shocking and incredibly painful. WVC, there is nothing to discuss. Please do not ask me to reach out to you. We are devastated.

This appointment was on behalf of my elderly father. Twice, I called during business hours and had to leave a message (no live person answered the phone). Once, I called just after business hours, spoke with the answering service, and left a message. The result all three times: crickets. Not one call back. On my first attempt to call a crosstown competitor, I received a friendly voice who booked my father into the next available appointment and gave me complete instructions on what to expect during his visit. I had also tried to book my dad with a PHMG primary care provider several months ago. That also took three calls, but I was successful on the third attempt. PeaceHealth has long rested on its laurels as the biggest fish in the pond, and as a result, their customer service has steadily declined over the years. They should be waking up soon to find their competition, big and small, far ahead and leaving them in the dust.
