I am disgusted with this company. I ordered Sympathy flowers for my aunt because my uncle died. It took over a week for my droopy, half dead flowers to arrive. I complained immediately and they offered to expedite an upgraded sympathy bouquet. Two days later, another droopy lifeless arrangement arrived. Not to mention, neither bouquet looked like the picture on the website. This company packs up beautiful blooms in a box without any cool packs or water source, loads them into a hot truck and let's them travel that way for days!!! This is despicable...and then charges a fortune for them. They ought to be ashamed. No one should support this business. If you noticed on their website, they do not have a feedback section. They don't allow reviews on their website. If I had googled reviews ahead of time I would never have used them. There are countless complaints just like this!! read more

If I can give them zero start I would. Ordered flowers for my mom's birthday weeks in advance, spend over $150 and they never delivered them, when I called customer service a dude who barely speaks English said its the government's fault ( no idea why USA government is involved in flower delivery, but OK). Im out of $150, my moms birthday is ruined. I hope this review saves other their hard earn dollars. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM, its a scam. read more

Received wilted bouquets- roses with creased drying petals and squished pressed buds. The senders trust that these will be top of the line bouquets and fork out a tidy sum, they have little indication of the sorry state of bouquets delivered. The one stars here bear out, you mistakenly believe that whoever you send to by spending much is all swooning over your flowers while the reality is they are shirking from them. Their 'Happiness Team' only offered a credit to make it right despite asking for a refund a couple of times, they finally refunded after they saw the pictures. Granted the execution may be out of the control of the business given the perishability of the commodity but that is the very core of the business, deliver sentiments flawlessly, there can't be any iffiness about it. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. What I received looked nothing like what was advertised online. Online photos show a big beautiful bouquet, what was received is nothing of the sort. For the price paid I could have bought 5 bouquets from my local supermarket. read more

I've been using UrbanStems for a couple of years with good results, flowers are consistently good and delivery is on time. Last week I had my first issue, when flowers arrived wilted due to summer heat. I snapped a photo and sent to their customer care team, Czarina S. on that team immediately offered several options to make it right, with no hassles at all. Will definitely keep using UrbanStems. read more

My mother sent me a picture of the flowers the day she received them - the roses looked wilted & brown around the edges, & the whole bouquet was a mish-mash of colors that looked nothing like the shades of pink shown in the product picture on the website. I paid $120 for this bouquet!! I was so upset. I only rated my experience with your company 2 stars because at least the flowers were delivered on the day that I requested. I will not be ordering from Urban Stems again. read more

I received flowers on Mother's Day as a gift from my children. The box was left on the side porch for an hour as I wasn't home. Of course as soon as I "found" them I cut and put them in water. Some of the flowers didn't make it to the vase as they had already lost petals or were broken. Now, two days later and more than half the bouquets flower heads have drooped. As I mentioned, this is a gift that apparently is a subscription. I will update this review next month if things are better. I realize Mother's Day can be a nightmare! To be continued... ***update*** Their customer service is phenomenal. I'm sure it was such an issue because of Mother's Day. They have contacted me and are working on a solution. Greatly appreciate the effort! read more

Flowers delivered hot and wilted. Nothing in there for moisture. If I'm spending good money on flowers, I expect them to be better than Walmart. Called and to get a refund but they wanted to give me a gift card instead. As if I'm going to buy more flowers from there. Got a full refund though. read more

I would give zero stars, if possible. I have used this company many times and highly recommended them to friends and online. However, I sent my stepmom flowers that were to arrive May 7th, prior to Mother's Day, and UrbanStems never sent them, never notified me they did not, and, when I contacted them, did nothing to resolve the situation. Had I not specifically asked my mom if she received them, I would have never known and been out about $100. After 3 emails and a 19 minute phone call where I was repeatedly told they would place an order to be delivered on the 14th, I was finally told they had no inventory until the 18th of May. Eleven days AFTER my order was to be delivered. If they can't fill orders, they should not accept them. If they accept an order and cannot follow through, they should contact the customer. Super disappointed in this whole ordeal and now I have to go order from a local florist. Save your time, money, and patience and order locally. read more

I ordered flowers on 1/28 for delivery on 2/14/23 (Valentines day). The delivery was "Guarenteed" for delivery on valentines day when I placed the order. I checed the tracking today and they created a label on saturday, but didnt pick up the flowers till monday. As of Tuesday morning (1am) they are currently sitting in a warehouse in New Jersey (I live in Chicago). Its now 5:30 pm and they STILL have not left NJ. Urban Stems has removed the chat with a live person from their website (it was there this morning when I talked to someone) and now you can only call or email. Calling is obviously not working as this appears to be a WIDE SPREAD issue for them. I asked for a refund this morning when it was obvious they were not going to be delivered on time / today. They said they could ONLY give me credit. Why would I want a credit to the place that cant do the one thing they are supposed to do (deliver flowers on time)? I said I wanted a refund and they said I would have to chat them back up AFTER it was past the delivery window. Now that option is no longer on the site when its past the delivery window. What a mess, thanks for ruining Valentines day and making me look like an idiot. read more

i placed an order (my 1st) w Urban Stems yesterday- The Dalloway, a beautiful centerpiece for my daughter's baby shower. When I received the order confirmation, I noticed an email for 20% off my 1st order. I immediately emailed them to explain I hadn't seen the offer and asked if they would/ could possibly apply the discount now. Extremely disappointing. I ordered a nice sunflower arrangement for my friend. When they arrived he sent me a photo. A single sunflower was still hanging on; the rest had rotted and fallen off. I was pretty embarrassed. I called urbanstems and was given a replacement which arrived the following week. The flowers were decent but the card was not my card...the nice message I had written my friend was gone and instead a stranger's card was included. This service is a mess. I sent flowers to my daughter for her birthday and didn't 'sign' the message. When my daughter reached out to UrbanStems to ask who had sent the flowers - she was told the team would reach out to the sender (me) and ask that I confirm that I had sent the flowers. Imelda B sent me a very thoughtful note - mentioning how seriously they take all customer privacy - and my daughter now knows the flowers came from me. This translates to a great customer experience for me - and for my daughter too - so thank you Imelda B. and UrbanStems. The boy has been sending me flowers for years now so I am pretty familiar with a lot of the flower delivery services in the DC Metropolitan area. I'll often bring a bouquet home and Rob is always a bit surprised to see that he bouquet does not look anything like the flowers he chose online. Enter UrbanStems, a new DC based company that takes all the hassle of flower delivery without the high price. To be transparent, UrbanStems sent me a complimentary bouquet so I would be able to see the high quality blooms up close and personal but I am already a believer. Here are the facts: + Same day delivery via bike courier in the DC and Arlington area + Bouquets start at $35 and they will even add a box of Olivia Macarons to the order if you're trying to score extra brownie points + Bouquets do not come with a vase but they are wrapped in burlap and ribbon and a letterpress card so it feels extra homegrown and special (Shabby Chic gals like myslef will go gaga over them!) My flowers were delivered to my apt front desk in the morning and I was unable to pick them up till late that night. When I received them, the stems were still crisp, cool and super fresh. Nary a dent or fallen petal was in sight. Even my door lady commented on how beautiful they were! And the best part was....a giant succulent was hiding among all of the wildflowers! Like most girls, I am succulent crazy so I was super excited about this. Succulent filled delivery bouquets usually run in the hundreds so this was a special surprise. Highly recommended! Send some Urbanstems and make someone's day! read more

Every girl loves to receive flowers at work so when my receptionist called me down to pick up a delivery, I got a little excited. I was surprised to see this box with "UrbanStems" on the outside. I'd never heard of them, but man, what an introduction! When I've received flowers from their national competitors, I have to open the box, unwrap a ton (a ton!) of plastic, find a vase, cut the stems, pluck some dead petals because the flowers don't seem that fresh. You can tell the flowers traveled a long way and that isn't exactly personable. Don't get me wrong, I'm appreciative and because I LOVE flowers, I'll do the work, but it is a little bit more of a hassle. Today, I received a dozen pink roses in a carrying case and the flowers were wrapped in a little bit of plastic and a couple of rubber bands, nicely tucked into a vase. I didn't have to do anything but take the plastic off and pour water into them. They also came with a nice card with my private message typed in handwriting font. I hear this is a local DC company and I plan to use them in the future. I'm quite impressed. read more

I'm not the type to ever write reviews, good or bad, but this company is fucking trash. Either that or they use a trash delivery service. Urban Stems is the WORST. Every single time we've ordered from them there has been an issue. From dead/wilted flowers, not meeting the promised delivery date, to most recently a broken vase. I'm not sure what seems to be the issue but clearly their quality controls need a serious overhaul. We definitely will not be ordering from them in the future. read more

UrbanStems is like the other online "fresh" flower delivery services. Overall, although they provide a solid service, I have experienced delayed shipments many times. With flowers, you can't really afford to have delayed services or not received by your recipient, but that is the chance you take with online services. This time, for Valentines, I asked for flowers to be delivered on Saturday 2/11. Urbanstems has not delivered the package to FedEx yet unfortunately and there is no sign when the flowers will be delivered. Their customer care is good, willing to discount/credit back these issues, but buyer beware. There is nothing like calling your local florist and having confidence your flowers will arrive as requested. read more

I found UrbanStems via a Facebook ad. Note: They deliver to all parts of DC and selected parts of Arlington. I often buy fresh flowers to decorate at Whole Foods, but I figured I would give this delivery service a try. As I ordered, I was telling my fiancé about all the beautiful arrangements they had online. Little did I know, he too was placing an order to be delivered the same day! My flowers were delivered between the time frame I selected. I think it's so great that they send you a picture for proof of delivery. I quick went downstairs and picked up my bouquet and the one my fiancé sent from the front desk. The flowers came packaged in a cute carrying box that I tore right through when I got to my apartment. Two beautifully arranged bouquets! I was in love! From roses to sunflowers, accent pieces and a succulent! I was a happy girl! My only complaint is that I was not given flower food and I didn't get the burlap wrap & ribbon everyone has raved about. I could overlook the burlap situation, but having to go buy flower food in addition to having already paid was a bit of a pain. Overall, my flowers were beautiful! When my fiancé arrived and saw them, he was pleasantly surprised as well. I'll definitely be ordering from UrbanStems again in the near future. read more

Very disappointing! I ordered the autumnal palette ($170 plus shipping and handling), expecting to receive the beautiful arrangement as shown online and ended up receiving a very underwhelming bouquet. Incredibly small in comparison to photo advertised, wilted flowers. To top things off, the vase has sharp edges, making it painful to pick up and even cutting you if you are not too careful. I will not be ordering from them again. I will post two photos.. what was advertised and what I received. Only positive thing was that it arrived on scheduled date and package was wrapped well. read more

Ordered flowers 2 weeks before Valentine's Day to be delivered on 2/11. I called on 2/11 and they said there was a delay and they would be delivered on 2/14. This was the WORST experenience ever ordering flowers. The order was supposed to arrive the Friday before Valentine's Day and is now expected to arrive 2/15 but still has not arrived yet. When I contacted customer service to determine a resolution to the matter, the representative claimed that I would receive an email shortly thereafter with some sort of resoluton. That email never arrived. I have used UrbanStems before with positive results BUT this was the absolutely WORST experience ever. I will NEVER use this company again. I cannot rely on this company to provide the paid for product on time and then to cancel the order after they did not deliver on time. Companies like this exist in order to deliver flowers or gifts for special occasions. I have ZERO TRUST that this company can indeed deliver. read more

My boyfriend ordered me a bouquet from Urban Stems for my birthday. On the website, it says that the flowers are hand delivered. FedEx actually delivered them, and when I received it, the flowers were dried up and shriveled. The stems had not been immersed in water for a long time, probably two days, and therefore were brown at the tips and already well into the dying phase, unable to be resuscitated. When my boyfriend called Urban Stems to ask why FedEx delivered, Urban Stems said that the flowers were shipped directly from the growers, and blamed the growers for the dying flowers. See photo for the dried and browning tips of the flowers. Sad that my birthday bouquet arrived in such horrendous condition. DO NOT BUY FLOWERS FROM URBAN STEMS. read more

I'm late to the party on UrbanStems, but I've never been excited about a flower delivery service so I'll chime in anyway: it's about time the flower delivery business got an updated model! Usually, sending flowers is a thoroughly underwhelming experience at best - you pick from pretty bouquet photos and try to decide if a small bouquet looks too cheap, knowing that the add-ons, shipping charges, and other fees will just about double the cost. The actual bouquet is never as nice as it looks online, and bad service may get you a discount on your next order - you know, the same discount you get every week from the spam email that you never signed up for. The last straw for me was after a flower delivery service that shall remain unnamed (ok, it was Teleflora) flat out didn't deliver my Mother's Day bouquet to my mother-in-law. I searched for an alternative (I believe I might have actually Googled "flower delivery that doesn't suck") and found UrbanStems. I'll echo the same pros noted in other reviews: chic, modern bouquets that actually match the photo; no filler blossoms; same day delivery for no extra charge; all fees included up front in the bouquet price; fantastic customer service. The only con I can think of is that bouquets often sell out quickly. On my first order, the bouquet I ordered ran out and UrbanStems automatically upgraded to the next best bouquet. I then received email updates and even a photo of the courier holding the bouquet in front of the destination address. No more missed bouquets here! read more

I just wanted to (belatedly!) update my review that Urban Stems resolved this issue to my satisfaction and definitely cared about my orders.

I am extremely disappointed... I was really looking forward to sending my sister beautiful bouquets after giving birth to her first born.... flowers arrived at the hospital 2 days late. They were already discharged by that time....Flowers arrived totally wilted! Who wants to receive wilted and partially dead flowers as a gift?! It was in awful condition and hardly looked anything like the online photo. How embarrassing! You'd think spending $150, you would get some top notch flowers! Nope. I definitely should've checked out the other yelp reviews first. Very upset about this experience. read more

Horrible service. Ordered flowers for Mother's Day delivery (they offered) agreed to either Saturday the 13th or Sunday the 14th delivery. Flowers were received May 23rd. 10 days late....? When I called Monday morning to see what happened... UrbanStems repeatedly blamed the shipping company over and over, stating that they emailed me.... They emailed me at MIDNIGHT on MOTHERS DAY. I live in Florida, she lives in Connecticut.... How would I make alternative arrangements day of? If I were able to bring her gift, I would not have needed to order from this group of incompetents. When I called... I was given the run around... can't get a manager on the phone, or to respond to my email. FINALLY my order is delivered. I was promised a double order since they messed up so badly.... Yet another broken promise.....(They also offered to write a hand written note taking the blame for the error) the email shows a double order of all products.... Yet she received only one order. I would have ordered from this company over and over again.... It's a shame... I really wanted to like this place. read more

I ordered two Mother's Day bouquets to be delivered the day prior. Both arrived in ROUGH shape. All of the roses and filler florals were already wilting and one of the larger flowers on one bouquet was actually squished in the shipping box edge.
