We live out of state and called in an order for a flower lei for my daughter's graduation. They charged me $125 for it. Stopped on the way to graduation to pick it and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. It came in a wrist corsage box, not a lei box. I pulled it out to look at it and was shocked!! Really cute place! I had no idea it was there, squeezed on the other side of cherrydale hardware and the yoga studio. I first heard of it when I asked about the beautiful flower arrangements at Casals in Clarendon (where I get my hair done). They have a fantastic, loose and organic looking arrangement that looks real at first glance. My stylist filled me in that it came from Company Flowers and while "not cheap" it was the best. I stopped by on a weekend morning and it was pretty empty. After wandering around for a couple minutes, a friendly clerk came by to see if I wanted any help and she helped me pick some silk hydrangeous and a vase. They cut the silk flowers down to the right height for my case for me and wrapped it up beautifully. I wouldn't say that the prices were crazy, $12 per stem for silk hydrangea that will last me forever and the vase was a great price. The cash register seemed to cause some confusion and it took a while to check out, but I wasn't in a rush and everyone was sweet. read more

They canceled my online order because the delivery zone was out of range but it never said anything when I made my order. This order was for my daughters birthday and i never got a notification! I had to call them to find out what happened and by then it was too late to order from anywhere else, i requested a email of the rejected order to make sure I wasn't charged. They wouldn't send it, i had to come in to retrieve it! And the woman i spoke to had a horrible additude and no sympathy and she was the owner! Don't buy flowers here they are rediculously overpriced and while i paid it initially thinking I'd be paying for better service, obviously i was mistaken! Response to comment: I'm really sorry to hear about your recent loss but this interaction was actually before, over half a year ago. The fact that you didn't realize that makes me think this is not actually the first or even last time you've had these malfunctions. Needed two single flowers to place in Arlington Cemetery Columbarium. Staff were super friendly. Gave me suggestions on what to choose. Gave me the little plastic water-holder things that go on the end of the stem. And added some greenery to fill out the look- to make it more of a little bouquet than just a single flower. I hesitate to give it two stars because their arrangements are gorgeous and very garden-y and un-standard-FTD. HOWEVER, a recent experience ordering online left me very annoyed. The website states: "Free local delivery is available for local online orders only. For orders being sent outside of our local delivery zone, a delivery fee based on the recipient's address will be calculated during checkout." The recipient of the flowers I sent lives just 2.8 miles away from this shop, and it never crossed my mind that THAT address would not be considered local! But because the address is in the 22205 zip code (the shop is located in 22207), it is considered "out of the local delivery zone" and I was charged a whopping $12.50 for delivery (seriously they could have walked them over!) First of all, there are locations within 22207 that are way further away than 2.8 miles. Secondly, they should state on their website clearly just WHAT their local delivery zone consists of so the buyer will know immediately if they qualify. It never occurred to me that being so close to the shop wouldn't - I assumed "out of local delivery area" meant, like, Crystal City. Nowhere on the website does it state what their delivery area consists of. This smacks of a bait-and-switch (the "free delivery" is even in their title on google) kind of like all those "free" things on the internet that you then have to pay a subscription fee for ("oh we just meant it was free to click onto our website. After that you have to pay.") Update: But wait, it gets better! I got a call today saying that they have a minimum and that my floral arrangement didn't meet their minimum. The floral arrangement that I ordered ON THEIR WEBSITE - huh? I will say here that the woman I spoke with was very nice, and explained it was a brand new website and is connected with another company who posted arrangements with prices that Company Flowers didn't know about. (Um, ok but...not my problem). She also offered to waive the delivery fee. Considering I just had to go up $25 in my order that was the least they could do! Seriously - again, their flowers are gorgeous - but they need to get it together with this website!! (And in addition to waiving the delivery fee for the reasons stated above, they should also have honored the $40 considering that I ordered that off their website!!!!) read more

This is the second time that I have had Company Flowers prepare flowers for a big event, and they did the most amazing job (again). I had 5 centerpiece arrangements and one larger one for the dinner buffet. The flowers were fresh, utterly gorgeous, and so unique and eye-catching without being too quirky. They are also EXACTLY what I envisioned and had described in very general terms. For the buffet arrangement, I took in a silver tea server and they used that instead of a more anonymous vase, creating a stunning focal point for the buffet. Not only did we get many compliments from guests, but the cost of these floral works of art was less than at some Georgetown competitors. Wow! A great place to get your special someone a gift! A quant family run store that knows what it's doing. Like most guys, I waited last minute to get my girlfriend an anniversary gift.i frantically searched for florists in the Arlington area and came across Company Flowers and Gifts. When I called, the woman was nice and attentive. She assured me that they could get me a custom set of flowers in a few minutes. At first, I was skeptical but when I went in after work, the lady at the front desk helped me right away as we put together a bouquet of flowers. Never again! If I could give no stars I would. I placed an order for a same-day Saturday delivery. I called and spoke with a woman who ensured me the flowers would be delivered same day because I had placed the order in enough time. The flowers were not delivered. The company is closed on Sunday, which basically means that my order was two days late. When I called, the guy who I spoke with said he "knew nothing about the extra delivery costs" and had the order there for Monday delivery. A liar. And quite condescending, too. At least he tried to be. I went with this shop because I read great review. I'm am so disappointed in the experience. I was not compensated for services not rendered as promised. If I may refresh your memory...you and your fiancée came into the shop and spent quite a bit of time in the cooler carefully picking the particular colors and flowers you wanted us to use. We put them aside for you, as requested, and on the designated day incorporated them into the simple bridal bouquet you requested. You yourself picked them up and seem to be very happy with the bouquet. So we are puzzled as to why you would wait to write a nasty review of us, not identifying yourself by name, only initials, when you could have complained on the spot if you taste in flowers had changed in a couple of days. I stopped in to Company Flowers and while purchasing a few gifts, asked if they happened to know of any florists in California-- my parents just moved there and I wanted to send my mom flowers for Mother's Day. One of the associates said they could actually take an order and use a florist with whom they contract in California. GREAT!!! I thought- so the sales associate asked what I wanted and didn't want: I wanted 4 things specific flowers (lilacs, cottage roses, peonies, tulips) and didn't want 3 other flowers (gerber daises, carnations, alstromeria). I then asked the associate if these 4 flowers were in season in California and I was reassured, that "Yes, absolutely. We get our flowers from California- they shouldn't have any problem." I pay and leave happy. THEN-- i get a call from my mom re: the flowers, and sends me a pic....what do I see? Gerber Daisies & Carnations. NO lilacs, david austen (cottage) roses, or peonies. Yes, the arrangement was pretty and my mom liked it BUT IT WASN"T WHAT I ORDERED and WHAT THEY PROMISED. Needless to say, after speaking to both Company Flowers and the California florist, it turns out that Company Flowers incorrectly assured me the other florist would have flowers they didn't have, wrote down random flowers I never even mentioned to my "dislike" list, and then used an abbreviation the other company didn't understand. Company Flowers DID give me my money back when I asked, so I am appreciative they took my concern seriously. My issue is they promised one thing, wrote down the wrong information about my floral requests/dislikes, and then delivered another. I have to agree with the other reviews about this place being overpriced for what you get. I went there to get some flowers for a friend's mother who was having my boyfriend and I over for dinner. I had been to Whole Foods and Harris Teeter and couldn't find many arrangements I liked that had lots of blues and purples. So looked up on mobile yelp a local florist near where I was and came across Company Flowers. They did approach me to see if I needed help and I described what I was looking for and my price range. The end bouquet was nice, but honestly for the amount it cost I just expected to be a bit fuller and even have longer stems. Kind of looked like a bridal bouquet - well at least that's what someone asked me when I got in the elevator of my apartment complex. So they get two stars right now because of my disappointment of what I got for my money and well my boyfriend agreed, but of course the true test will be my friend's mothers reaction tonight. I was put in touch with Company Flowers at the recommendation of a friend. I live in New York and my daughter's wedding was to be in DC. There was no time to scout out florists. My job was to provide bouquets and a boutonniere. I had very specific flower requirements, part was to take a piece of of my wedding veil with which to tie the stalks. I have lived in Arlington for about 40 years. Company Flowers , our neighborhood florist and gift shop- has always provides a selection of flowers that are unique, fresh and inspired. Last weekend, I hosted my soon to be Daughter in law's bridal shower and stopped by to buy flowers for a special vase I wanted to use. First off, they had the Peonies I needed - to compliment the theme of shower- and were helpful in selecting flowers that complimented each other in the bouquet. No bland or boring FTD arrangements here ! The talented designer Jane, not only helped me choose but suggested I bring in the vase and let them work magic...! I did.. and they DID! The arrangement was so stunning and was the talk of the party .. (.. .. along with custom Cookies by Pizzaro and a yummy Buttercream Cake)! Now 4 days later and the flowers are still gorgeous. I went here on a last minute mission to get flowers for my wife. I described what I wanted and set a budget. They were able to make the arrangement while I waited. When it appears, it was nothing like I described. I said so. They asked again what I was looking for. I described again (and more forcefully) what I wanted. They made another arrangement matching my expectations except that it was too small for the budget I had given them. I accepted it anyway since I was pressed for time and they had already remade it once. Two days later we are already losing flowers despite adding water twice a day. In summary, this place is overpriced for what you get both in quantity and quality. I will not go back. read more

SPECTACULAR ! Have you ever walked by a store a thousand times and never noticed it was there ? I walked in this flower shop and asked if they had candles, my store smelled like granny's attic. The sales lady said sure we do and came to my rescue. One lovely candle and a milk glass flower arrangement saved my day. I asked " did you just open ? " and the lovely store owner answered : " Yes...30 years ago". Customer service , quality and a lady with a kick ass hairstyle named Jane makes this my favorite flower and gift store in this world. I've visited Company Flowers several times over the last few years and they always come through with beautiful arrangements. I was reminded of this last week and felt compelled to yelp about it. I went in for a last minute (i.e. Christmas Eve) arrangement for a family member. Since I was picking out flowers a la carte, I wasn't sure which ones would combine for a great bouquet. One of the sales associates asked me a few questions about color, likes and dislikes and then said to give her a few minutes. I had a chance to look around the shop for stocking stuffers and pat the in-house dog (sweet and low-key; don't worry about bringing small kids) that sometimes hangs out in the shop. In about 20 minutes they'd crafted an affordable, beautiful and unique arrangement. It was the easiest shopping experience of my holiday season and the sales people are so helpful!
