The ordering process was super easy and standard delivery was free. I was emailed the next morning when the delivery was on the way and less than 15 minutes later the doorbell rang and I was greeted by a friendly driver with my wife's orchid. Terrible service, tried calling and the phone message said to email them. Emailed them about my order and asked why it hadn't been delivered that I paid $200 for? They explained because I chose the soonest delivery option (Which they don't do) they couldn't deliver the flowers I ordered. I asked them for soonest possible and they couldn't do that either. What the heck's going on at Send Smiles?! Sadly, things appear to be going dramatically downhill at that company, as this is my second negative review in less than a year. For my mother's 80th birthday on Oct. 24th, I bought her a $100 arrangement that didn't even last a full day. Moreover, she apparently found the box of flowers thrown or tossed off to the side of her front porch when she came home from work that day. A few years ago, when I first started using S.S., every single person I sent flowers to raved about their 'white glove' delivery and the longevity of the flowers. Now, recipients are lucky if their pricey arrangements last an entire day. Worst of all, though, is the fact that I contacted Send Smiles after my mother's poor experience and they never called me back to apologize or even get more details. So very disappointing. I was ordering flowers for a coworker who (I thought) lived in the DC area. Seeing all the great reviews (and the discount code for Yelpers!) I decided to give this place a try. The flowers were super affordable and looked lovely on the site. Same day delivery was available, and I got a message that the flowers were delivered before the end of the workday, only hours after I ordered. Navigating the web ordering system was a breeze. Unfortunately, I learned a whole four days later that my colleague had actually moved. I called up to see if the flowers had been returned or if there was anything we could do, and the beyond suburb customer care manager Kaitlyn (sp?) offered to send another arrangement to the new address on the house. She was so sweet and helpful on the phone, and I was really blown away by this service. I didn't take her up on the offer because as it turns out, my coworker moved to a different state. Whoops! I imagine there would be nothing they could do besides a refund, and since it was our mistake I let it go. (Hope whoever does live in that apartment complex now enjoyed the flowers at least!) Regardless, I wanted to give a shout out to how amazing this shop was. If I ever have to order flowers in DC again this will absolutely be my first pick. I've had to call other shops in other parts of the country and nobody was as great and accommodating. This business deserves support for all the support they give. Used this service for years, now severely disappointed. Confirmed advance order of a large bouquet, paying for delivery yesterday on 9/21 (a day in advance of our family dinner). Now, "Order Confirmation" & FedEx tracking says the arrangement is sitting in a Baltimore "sort facility" - scheduled for delivery next week on 9/23-24. There is no Call Center service; SendSmiles VM directs you to email them. And I am embarrassed that my arrangement will not only arrive several days AFTER the family event, but also several days old!
