So Cal Sandwich
Jack M.

I had a So Cal Sandwich which came with avocado, pepper jack cheese, roasted chicken, greens, a chipotle aioli, and a tomatillo salsa for $12.25 plus tax. The sandwich was pretty good, but I was disappointed that they used a guacamole in lieu of freshly sliced avocado. It would have made a huge difference in a good way. If I would have known, I would have ordered something else. The menu should say smashed avocado, not just avocado. Any-who, the roasted chicken was good, but a little hard to distinguish, because they went a little heavy on the tomatillo sauce. The bread was good as usual. The hospitality was friendly and the service good. The only thing is they need to stay on top of cleaning their tables off. I had to clean my own table before seating. It was not a big deal, I can handle it but just an observation. 3.5 Stars.

Stopped in here for dinner, and it was surprisingly good! Highly recommend the salmon plate, the drizzle is reallly good!!

So happy Urbane has a location in Point Loma. My go to for years has been the Pesto and sun-dried tomato sandwich. Sometimes if I'm feeling wild, I'll add avocados or artichoke. I love dipping my sandwich in the balsamic vinegar salad dressing. The cookies are so good. I like the chocolate chip or the triple chocolate and the added bonus is you get them hot! I never get a drink but at this location I wandered over the drink fountain and saw they had fountain Shirley Temple. Ugggh it was soooo good. Shirley Temple is my absolute favorite soda and I've never seen it as a fountain drink. Service is always great here. The place is super bright and clean. I'll definitely be coming back.

Wow. So good. I found this place out by a friend and i got the steak sandwich with salad. So yummy. I highly recommend. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes!

I loved this place! The spot they have is super bright and has nice high ceilings. The food is healthy and tasty! They have a fun array of craft soda drinks to try and lemonade/limade/agua Fresca. In terms of the food, I tried the pesto and sun dried tomato chicken sandwich. The bread was tasty and fluffy and the sandwich was super flavorful. I loved the sun dried tomato sauce and pesto sauce combined together, and there was a good amount of chicken added in too! The cookies are kept warm and fresh at the front. We tried the triple chocolate cookie which was very tasty! The chocolate was gooey and the edge was crispy! Will definitely be coming back to try the rest of their menu!

Urbane Cafe on W Point Loma Bl in the Midway area opened over a month ago but it was my first time here and ever in any Urbane Cafes, as there are other locations throughout SD. Plenty of free parking in the lot. There's outdoor and since the interior dining appeared to be clean, so I decided to dine in and sat in a booth with a view of a sunny SD day. You can place your order with a cashier or via tablet. The cashier wasn't friendly and I felt rushed during my ordering process. In fact, the male customer ahead of me felt rushed and pressured to hurry he let me order ahead of him. It was a good thing I already knew what I wanted or I would feel rushed and pressured too...not a good start. I suggest ordering and using the tablet so you're not pressured but the grumpy cashier who needs more customer service training. The salmon bowl I ordered: no rice, extra edamame, kale, sweet potato and focaccia bread with dressing on the side. It was presented in a ceramic bowl which was the perfect size, plenty of room, and the food doesn't fall off the bowl. For utensils only plastic forks :( eww! Just when I thought it was going ok, the PLASTIC fork ruined it for me....I have to say, the 'Bane of my Existence.' If they can serve with ceramic bowls, they can serve with silverware forks! The salmon bowl was just okay, next time I would skip on the sweet potatoes, it was too much, would rather have more of the kale, edamame or other ingredients. Most of the selections on the menu are on the healthy side options. In this area of fast food places, this cafe is a great addition. Needs improvement with customer service and add silverware, otherwise Urbane is the Bane to My Existence.' Reluctantly Recommend

Tyra S.

Urbane Cafe was amazingly delicious! I got the Salmon Bowl with Wild Rice, Sweet Potatoes and Kale. I ordered extra bread on the side with dipping sauce. My Hubby got Chimichurri Steak Sandwich with side salad as well as a chocolate chip cookie. Everything was Fresh and so Fulfilling! I really enjoyed every bite. This was my first time going there and I definitely want to go back. The service was wonderful and everyone was nice. Plenty of seating from booths to regular table and high tops. A little something for everyone's preference. A great place to get a healthy meal.

Crunchy Peanut Salad with peanut dressing 2026 $12.95
Leanne C.

Urbane cafe hired the right employees as everyone was friendly and polite tonight. It really makes a difference with a server who smiles vs someone who is very nonchalant and very flat effect. (I know it seems like I'm asking for too much from the world ‍) First time coming into Urbane Cafe and I am definitely pleased and I will return. I ordered a Chicken Spaetzle and I thought it tasted great. It has gnocchi Instead of noodles. I can't speak for the crunchy peanut salad since I haven't ate it yet but serving seems to be great for the price of $12.95 I was given a choice to get a cook since they were almost closing. I chose the White chocolate cranberry raised cookie and it was given fresh and gooey. 10/10 recommend! Thanks Elizabeth for the great service!

Cobb Salad + chicken

Have been CRAVING a robust delicious and filling Cobb salad for so long. Found this spot on Yelp today and had an absolute satisfying experience. The staff today were so friendly too! The salad was not enormous like typical Cobbs but it was filling! I was full and satisfied half way.

New restaurant in Point Loma District! The restaurant has tons of windows and very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Booths are comfortable and staff are friendly. High ceilings and lots of space between seats. Food came out quickly and was plated beautifully. Took about 10 minutes to get our order. Peanut salad was crunchy, tangy delish with lots of arugula, and served with a very light peanut dressing. The salmon bowl, I'm told, was yummy! They serve craft soda and juices. Both entrees came with a large piece of very soft focaccia bread. And it was topped off with a warm churro cookie! We will be back!

Stopped here after landing in San Diego. You order at the on monitor, grab a number and they bring you the food. It's a casual restaurant. The staff was great. I recommend

So excited that Urbane Cafe is open in our neighborhood! Fresh, delicious sandwiches and salads -- and the cookies are yummy too! Personal favorite is the cilantro chicken salad. My husband loves the Japanese chili dressing that he even requests it for sandwiches.

Pastrami tri tip

I had the pastrami tri tip and I really happy with the sandwich. Good size and it's hard to mess up pastrami. I also had a cookie which was tasted like it was freshly baked. Definitely a good place to check out.

Peace Pies is an absolute gem!…read more If you're looking for fresh, completely gluten-free food that actually tastes incredible, Peace Pies delivers on every level. Everything is raw, thoughtfully prepared, and you can truly taste the quality of the ingredients. The chef is hands-down amazing and somehow manages to turn healthy food into works of art. I ordered the buffalo wrap, which came with kale chips on the side. It definitely has a kick to it, but it's balanced by an entire rainbow of vegetables packed into the wrap. Every bite feels nourishing, full of vibrant ingredients that feed your body with different vitamins, minerals, and enzymes. I also ventured out and tried the freeze-dried durian. The texture immediately reminded me of a Lucky Charms marshmallow, although it's much less sweet. The flavor is incredibly difficult to describe--mild and subtle at first, with a fleeting savory note that quickly transforms into something almost tropical, like guava crossed with a nutty vanilla cream. It's unique, delicate, and unlike anything I've tasted before. For dessert, I sampled the Butterfinger and Twix. The Butterfinger filling has a green hue, which might surprise you at first, but don't let that fool you. The chef has somehow recreated the classic Butterfinger flavor in a raw, healthy version. It's not quite as sweet or crunchy as the original, but the flavor and texture are remarkably close and absolutely delicious, this is definitely a must try! The Twix was my personal favorite. The layers of caramel, cookie crunch, and chocolate come together perfectly. The balance of flavors is simply incredible. I've tried several items from Peace Pies over the years, and this place has never disappointed. The menu is creative, fun, and proof that healthy, raw, gluten-free food can be absolutely delicious. Highly recommend! Once in a while the workers are busy working in the back, prepping food and creating recipes- so you may have to get their attention... If they hear you come in, you're greeted immediately with helpful guidance to the menu. I came on prior occasions with my best friend who has many allergies and is of dark melanin- I state this because of a prior ill review regarding preferential treatment based on skin color. That has not been our experience. And I hope that review doesn't deter anyone from trying out this place.

This is a review for the Ocean Beach location…read more Let's start with the positives first : the salad was pretty good. Now - let's get to the negatives - of which there are many. You would think one could get the salad served in a regular bowl if eating there - nope, they only have the "to go" plastic containers, even though their website shows salads served in an ACTUAL BOWL. So, great, I get to waste plastic, between the "to go" bowl, plastic fork, plastic cup for water, and plastic small cup for dressing. Second, they don't have ice?! WTF? We would like to have our Diet Coke with a cup of ice but they just....don't have any ice. Ok..... Next, let's talk about price. $16 for a salad isn't cheap, but then another $6 just to add some cubes of chicken? Really? For $22 I could go to an actual restaurant and not eat at one of these "fast casual" places. Over and over again we the public are told to "eat and spend local", but this is exactly why these places are going under. For $22 I get attitude from the 19 year old working the register, get to drink out of a can, get tons of plastic to dispose of, and get to sit in a bland, white cinder block eating area which has a beautiful view of the CVS parking lot. Learned my lesson - next time I'll go to an actual sit-down restaurant that charges the same price and is a much better experience.

The food has that made-from-scratch feel to it, and is always fresh and high quality. I've had breakfast and lunch here and haven't left a crumb behind either time. I loved the waffle with berries for breakfast, and the veggie sandwich at lunch time. I also LOVED the drink menu-- had the best matcha latte with housemade syrup (passionfruit I think?) and a really delicious old fashioned caramel latte. Some people might consider the downside of a place like this to be the small kitchen, as it can impact wait times and the kitchen's ability to accommodate specific requests. However!! I think this just makes the experience more special-- having to slow down and savor a dining experience instead of rushing from place to place is truly a treat. Although not always speedy necessarily, I've had amazing service every time I've visited here. On one occasion we had longer wait times for our food and were treated with a delicious cake at the end of our meal. On another, we had a very minor snafu happen where a server was adjusting an umbrella and accidentally knocked something over on the table next to us-- the staff comped all of our meals out of consideration which was just so generous and understanding. Came with two sauces, avocado, lettuce, and bacon. The bun was decadent, but definitely needed some more salt. The sauce is also needed a little bit of seasoning to just bring them together. There can be really long weights on the weekends and it is only street parking in OB. But overall, the service gives it an extra star.
