Thai bowl - delicious but watch out for the spicy dressing!
    Vivian H.

I didn't know what to expect when I wandered in here around 1:30pm on a weekend and was ready to have some lunch, and was pleasantly surprised at how good the food is! The place was pretty empty with maybe 2 tables inside and one person eating outside. The location can't be beat with plenty of outdoor seating to soak up the sun. I ordered the Thai bowl and initially I wasnt too interested in grilled shrimp and steak, and asked for tofu, but they didnt have it. The lady ringing me up was baffled initially when I said I didnt want shrimp or steak. In the end, I decided to follow the rules and went with the grilled shrimp. You order at the register, take a number and food brought out to you. I sat outside and about 10min later, my lunch arrived. Thanks goodness I always ask for any kind of dressing on the side because this dressing while very tasty was also very spicy. I wish it was just a tad less spicy as my mouth was on fire and I only poured in about a quarter of what was given. The vegetables were fresh and tasty, rice was very moist and you can taste the coconut too. Grill shrimp was fresh and perfect. Overall, an excellent lunch! Prices are higher than I would like to spend for casual lunch but not much I can do about that. Parking lot has plenty of space and you can also do some grocery shopping here with Vons and TJs in the same plaza. Id definitely come back and want to try some of their other items like their all vegetable platter!

We came on a monday for late lunch so it wasn't too busy. You order & pay first then seat yourself which is nice. The pesto pasta was decent; good sauce & pasta cooked well but the chicken was a bit dry for me. The california bowl was pretty much as you might expect it to be. The salmon was cooked nicely, not overdone. The butternut squash was not too mushy nor too hard. Overall the bowl was a nice balance of color, flavor, and textures in every bite.

Overall it was a good experience. The food was good but bland, the Pozole was not my cup of tea. Tastes like something your by in a can from a grocery store. The bbq chicken and steak are delicious. The salad and mashed potatoes always hit. The mint lemonade was a favorite of ours. The service was friendly, and the restaurant was clean and pleasant.

I absolutely LOOOOVE Tender Greens! If you come at a good time- I come during the week between 2-3PM, it's not busy at all and the food tastes really fresh. If you come during dinner rush- food can be cold and not fresh. They have TONS of online orders and delivery drivers running in and out of the place. Honestly they should have a separate area for that because it gets chaotic. I LOVE the tender burger plate and the steak plate. My go-tos! I will say I was not a fan of the roasted potatoes- way too much oil but the fries are good. Their meat is excellent- it's very well seasoned and very well cooked and that's honestly one of the main reasons I come. The first time I came and got the steak plate the mashed potatoes were dry, but that was evening time. When I got the steak plate mid-day with mash potatoes- it tasted better. Also the bread they give you with the dinner plate SUCKS! It's inedible and dry and they use it for the croutons and it's so bad! Overall I like tender greens but it really depends on what time you come in and I find that in the middle of the day is the best time. They could improve the bread and store layout as far as the chaos of all their delivery orders but the food is delicious!

I get verbally love Tender Greens....this was my first time at this location in Liberty Station. I usually get the same thing because it's BOMB - the Mediterranean Steak Salad but this was the first time I didn't love it. It had way way too much dressing which was overpowering the other flavors. I'm not sure if the lettuce was wilted or if it was the dressing that made it so soft. I have not had this issue at any other location so I would be willing to come back and try again and am only knocking one star because I don't think that experience was the norm. When we walked in, there was an advertisement for a hamburger they were offering, so my dad ordered that. It was a little small and didn't come with any sides, but he was satisfied with it. It wasn't busy when I came so we ordered very quickly and easily. The young lady working was very nice and the place was clean and comfortable. Parking is plentiful at Liberty Station and there are so many places nearby if you wanted to do some shopping or squeeze a little walk in after your meal so the location is fantastic.

We were visiting Liberty Station at Point Loma and decided to eat in the area! We looked around and checked Yelp. We decided to check out Tender Greens!! We both decided on a salad with a protein. The first salad was grilled steak, seasonal vegetables, romaine lettuce. The second salad was grilled steak, seasonal vegetables, and baby arugula. My salad was FANTASTIC! The baby arugula was tossed with a Parmesan cheese lemon vinaigrette. My friend ate most of her salad. She left quite a bit of lettuce mixture on her plate. I asked if she was full. She said she was finish. She said, you can have the rest! I tried a bite and she laughed! It was very WATERY! It was like they never drained the water and no dressing! I couldn't eat it either! :( Their seasonal vegetables were delicious!! It had green beans, baby bell pepper, zucchini, and yellow squash. If you're a Yelper, you get a free watermelon agua Fresca drink! Overall, a nice healthier option for lunch or dinner. The employees were very helpful and cordial. The tables were clean. You can eat inside or outside. Clean bathrooms. Nice decor.

Lunch with coworkers on Tuesday afternoon a little after 12ish. You walk up to the counter and order your meal and they give you a number to place on your table. 8-9 tables inside but plenty of seating outside on their patio. They have large picnic tables for large groups and 5-6. Liberty StaStation is right by the runway for the airport so the planes taking off pass by every 3-4 minutes which can be annoying if your not use to them. Grabbed our utensils, salt and pepper shaker (both in one shaker/grinder), napkins, and tapatio and headed outside. Food came out quickly and the portions are large. Could have easily eaten half and taken the rest for dinner. Steak was cooked to order and very tender, seasoned well. Everyone was very pleased with their meal. Will definitely have lunch here again after shopping in Liberty Station.

This is what I wanted... THIS IS WHAT I GOT And the person taking my order was lowk rude so I was just defeated when I saw this. Am I tripping like this looks bad right? ALSO it looks like someone just squeezed and clawed their way to peel the egg

Solid choice if you're looking for a healthy meal! I got a plate with salmon, seasonal veggies, and roasted potatoes and it was light, fresh, and tasty. I loved the salmon, although a little heavy on oil, and the other sides were straight forward. I got some hot sauce on the side because it needs a little something. Would definitely come back!

    Tuna nicoise
    Michele T.

Stopped by seeking a light lunch. Ordered the nicoise ($17.45) and it was brought to me in about 15 mins. Nice presentation but way too much dressing. Definetly needed a knife to eat this salad as the greens were not cut and/or not cut to bite size and the tuna was a bit stringy. The potatoes were also underdone. Disappointing.

Came for a late lunch after our Sunday church and a walk along the esplanade at liberty Station, so we were mighty hungry. I couldn't make up my mind what to order so I went with my standard favorite of the tune on Nissan salad and it was as wonderful as usual and the tuna was in good quantity and cooked perfectly, and I felt quite satisfied with the quantity afterwards my husband ordered the steak plate with salad and mashed potatoes, and I couldn't get a picture of it because he was so hungry that it was almost done by the time I started my meal and took pictures of our food. He is rarely full after he finishes a meal here, even though he liked his meal. I inquired of our server what the most filling meal was for my husband and she suggested he tried the longevity bowl with the Seabass next time because that is quite filling or the longevity bowl with Katsu chicken. We will definitely take that under advisement for the future. I only gave it four stars because of the lack of quantity for the plated meal, but the service was great and the quality of the food was also wonderful no complaints there. We spent $38 for the two of us and you could decide whether or not that is reasonable. I will be coming back because I like the freshness of the ingredients as compared to other restaurants.

You would think one could get the salad served in a regular bowl if eating there - nope, they only have the "to go" plastic containers, even though their website shows salads served in an ACTUAL BOWL. So, great, I get to waste plastic, between the "to go" bowl, plastic fork, plastic cup for water, and plastic small cup for dressing. Second, they don't have ice?! WTF? We would like to have our Diet Coke with a cup of ice but they just....don't have any ice. Ok..... Next, let's talk about price. $16 for a salad isn't cheap, but then another $6 just to add some cubes of chicken? Really? For $22 I could go to an actual restaurant and not eat at one of these "fast casual" places. Over and over again we the public are told to "eat and spend local", but this is exactly why these places are going under. For $22 I get attitude from the 19 year old working the register, get to drink out of a can, get tons of plastic to dispose of, and get to sit in a bland, white cinder block eating area which has a beautiful view of the CVS parking lot. Learned my lesson - next time I'll go to an actual sit-down restaurant that charges the same price and is a much better experience.

The food has that made-from-scratch feel to it, and is always fresh and high quality. I've had breakfast and lunch here and haven't left a crumb behind either time. I loved the waffle with berries for breakfast, and the veggie sandwich at lunch time. I also LOVED the drink menu-- had the best matcha latte with housemade syrup (passionfruit I think?) and a really delicious old fashioned caramel latte. Some people might consider the downside of a place like this to be the small kitchen, as it can impact wait times and the kitchen's ability to accommodate specific requests. However!! I think this just makes the experience more special-- having to slow down and savor a dining experience instead of rushing from place to place is truly a treat. Although not always speedy necessarily, I've had amazing service every time I've visited here. On one occasion we had longer wait times for our food and were treated with a delicious cake at the end of our meal. On another, we had a very minor snafu happen where a server was adjusting an umbrella and accidentally knocked something over on the table next to us-- the staff comped all of our meals out of consideration which was just so generous and understanding. Overall I can't recommend this place enough! They have so many fun menus and specials. I can't wait to try their Peasant night in a few weeks. Grateful to have this spot in the neighborhood!

Coffee and lemonade were delicious. Service was hit or miss - good when we got things to go but lacking when we ate in. Definitely on the slower side and honestly not very pleasant. Food was okay. We got a relish tray to go which was good (hard to mess up pickled veggies though) but seemed like a small portion for the cost. For breakfast I got the breakfast tacos - they're more like tostadas though since the tortilla is fried. It was good, not phenomenal. My friend got the avocado toast. It was toasted slices of baguette with avocado on them, rather than one or two larger pieces of toasted bread. Toppings looked good but the toast was about 20 seconds from being actually burnt - very hard without anything close to a soft inside (my friend said it cut up her mouth - she couldn't even finish the last piece). Maybe some of their other dishes are better or maybe dinner would have been a better choice. I'd probably go again for convenience sake, but I wouldn't recommend making a special trip out to try it if you're not already in the area. TLDR; coffee is good, food is okay, service hot or miss. Go if convenient, otherwise likely isn't worth a special trip.

I'll have to knock down the rating 1 star just because compared to CAVA and chipotle the options here are quite limited (chicken being the only protein) which is completely fine if you just want chicken. Also I think $17 is quite the hefty price for one bowl HOWEVER, they do really give bigger portions here so at least that makes me feel better about spending almost $20 on a bowl. This is located in Ocean beach, a neighborhood in San Diego that doesn't have too many options so this will be the best next thing to getting chipotle and cava. I look forward to presenting this issue to Sarela (Store General Manager) as well as the Board of Directors. The NCG has also been contacted and a formal investigation into the incident has been requested. Laura should be fired but at the very least be written up.

What a nice restaurant to enjoy a really lovely dinner at in Ocean Beach! Walking up with my…read moredaughter and my doodle , we asked if there was room on their patio and there was a lovely table with umbrella on the corner. It had turf underneath all tables along the street side and was shaded well for both hoomans and dog! The server quickly wiped the table and was friendly in asking about drinks , while we immersed in the menu - much inspired by New Zealand. She was great the entire time we were there. She came by just enough to check in to get the "nodding yes with our our heads as mouths full " affirmation she needed that all was well. So- I had the Blazin' Ahi and it was absolutely delicious! The ahi , a fave of mine anyway but with the seared with panko covering it and the wasabi mayo and peas and cucumbers? Chef's kiss! Will go next time we are there in late summer and highly recommend!

M. ordered the Wagyu burger with matchstick fries & I got the New Zealand Classic breakfast with chicken sausage. Waters were brought out quickly for us, including Cali. I later ordered a mimosa & it came out quickly as well. There's a special on mimosas on Saturday & Sunday from 10-2. They start at $1 at 10am and the price goes up incrementally until 2pm when they're $9. (My mimosa was $6.) The food took a bit longer, about twenty minutes, to be delivered. I liked my breakfast very much. Everything was tasty & I enjoyed having little bits of different things to nosh on. M. said his burger was very good, he only wished that it was a bit bigger for the price. Service was fine & friendly. Overall, this was a pleasant experience. Great people watching and great weather helped to enhance this brunch even more. Peace.

I had what I can confidently call the best pastrami sandwich of my life -- perfectly made and incredibly generous in size. The potato salad was also excellent. Prices are on the higher side, but the portions are so substantial that my sandwich easily covered both lunch and dinner. Honestly, great value when you look at it that way. Highly recommend!

The #12 barely had any pastrami...like 3 small pieces on the entire sandwich, the pepperoncinis were so old & dry and you couldn't even chew them - both of us had to spit them out, pretty gnarly. Thought the menu sounded great, and we'd rather give this place our business than a big chain...but unf we won't be back. $16 each for sandwiches that were mostly shredded lettuce and bread! I'm so sad to leave this review! But also mad that we paid $30+ when we could have made these sandwiches better ourselves. I feel ripped off. The pics here on yelp make the sandwiches look packed with ingredients, and very fresh - that's not actually what you get! Save your money and go somewhere else.
