    Burrata & Mortadella
    Jalina R.

Came here to grab a couple of sandwiches for a little picnic in the grass outside. Got to be patient, it took a long time to get our sandwich after we ordered them. I would say we waited at least 30 mins. What we ordered: Burrata & Mortadella - was yummy. I liked it. Messy sandwich. I think it was the basil dressing Pastrami Parisian - bf loved the sandwich. Sandwiches were pretty big. Good size if you are really hungry. We both got chips with our sandwiches. You had a choice of chips or salad.

Staff was incredibly nice and helpful when we wanted information on the cheeses. We got the European Platter with 5 different cheeses for 10 dollars. All were amazing and honestly it's a great deal for the price. We will be back to try more!

Soo good. Mediterranean Delight is my fav. All their sandwiches are worth trying. My go to sandwhich spot.

I have been on the hunt to find San Diego's own "La Paradiso" sandwich. I think I found it! I ordered the burrata & mortadella sandwich which set me back $16 and it was heavenly. The focaccia tasted freshly made, creamy burrata was oozing out, it had a nice crunch from the pistachios, there was a good portion of mortadella, and the addition of basil was chefs kiss. I had everyone in my group try a bite and all of them said "wow, that's good." Get it, thank me later. 10/10 The service was polite and prompt and the ambiance was just like the rest of the vendors nestled within Liberty Station.

The prosciutto di Parma is incredible! We were craving this is exact sandwich and were so thrilled that it was so close to us. Very kind staff. Quick service, but quality!

Had a quick picnic with the dogs and ordered a couple sandwich's from here. Both sandwiches were delicious. Took a star off because they forgot my wife's side salad she ordered. Service was fast, staff were friendly.

Was at liberty station with the pups and we got hungry so I grabbed a few sandwiches as we were out in the grassy area. I ordered the Cubano and the chx San Diego. For sides I got a bag of chips and a salad. Unfortunately, I didn't get the salad but I did get the lays chips. Both sandwiches were yummy. The cubano was a bit greasy but very flavorful. The chx sandwich was very fresh and hand a great spread with a little kick. They were both nice sized as well. I would def grab sandwiches from them again.

Liberty Public Market is chock full of food options but on this particular day, yours truly was feeling something a wee bit lighter than the normal fried fare and numerous foods atop rice in a paper bowl. Bistro Europa offers up a mix of salads, sandwiches and cheese boards. I opted for a Manchego and Spanish ham sandwich on gluten-free bread. It came with a nice little arugula side salad with a fresh lemon vinaigrette and feta. Delish. The sandwich itself came with a nice portion of ham and a couple slices of Manchego. The bread was nice and soft (particularly for a GF bread). They apply olive oil directly to the bread which I don't hate per se but it could get dicey if you don't eat it right away. I did but even mine was starting to get a tiny bit soggy. Friendly service and relatively quick for the busy atmosphere and small size of the place. I'd go back.

Bistro Europa is the latest sandwich vendor to operate out of this suite at the Liberty Public Market. The left menu screen listed seven appetizers and four types of salad. The right menu screen was dedicated to European-imported meat sandwiches, California-sourced sandwiches, and house special sandwiches which included two vegan varieties. Meats and cheeses were also available for sale by weight. For drinks, there were fruit-flavored waters on refrigerated display in addition to pre-bottled beverages. From the sandwiches with imported meats, I picked the '3 Italian in NY' which was made up of ham, mortadella, and spicy salami served on focaccia bread. The other ingredients were provolone cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, oil, and vinegar. I asked for no mayo on my sandwich. It was ready in about five minutes and cut diagonally before being placed in a cardboard takeout box. Chips or a small salad came with the order. I selected a bag of Better Made potato chips. Maybe I have been spoiled by East Coast-style delicatessens, but I had hoped the meats would be stacked high between the bread. It was just one layer of each meat and was pretty ordinary for a $16 price tag. I guess the import factor added a premium to the cost. My experience at Bistro Europa was at a three star level.

    Burrata& Mortadella

I've been on the hunt for great Italian sandwiches in San Diego and stumbled on this hidden gem inside Liberty Public Market. Tried the Burrata & Mortadella sandwich...absolutely delicious! The burrata was creamy, the mortadella perfectly salty, and the bread had that ideal crisp-soft balance. Every bite tasted fresh and authentically Italian. Definitely a must-try if you're craving a real Italian-style sandwich in SD.

You would think one could get the salad served in a regular bowl if eating there - nope, they only have the "to go" plastic containers, even though their website shows salads served in an ACTUAL BOWL. So, great, I get to waste plastic, between the "to go" bowl, plastic fork, plastic cup for water, and plastic small cup for dressing. Second, they don't have ice?! WTF? We would like to have our Diet Coke with a cup of ice but they just....don't have any ice. Ok..... Next, let's talk about price. $16 for a salad isn't cheap, but then another $6 just to add some cubes of chicken? Really? For $22 I could go to an actual restaurant and not eat at one of these "fast casual" places. Over and over again we the public are told to "eat and spend local", but this is exactly why these places are going under. For $22 I get attitude from the 19 year old working the register, get to drink out of a can, get tons of plastic to dispose of, and get to sit in a bland, white cinder block eating area which has a beautiful view of the CVS parking lot. Learned my lesson - next time I'll go to an actual sit-down restaurant that charges the same price and is a much better experience.

This is located in Ocean beach, a neighborhood in San Diego that doesn't have too many options so this will be the best next thing to getting chipotle and cava. I think if I lived here I would come quite often but not worth it in my opinion to drive all the way here.

Although teeny tiny, there is magic crammed into every crevice of this special place. Fresh flowers…read morealways adorn the place settings, and cozy indoor tables and vibrant outdoor seating make this feel like you're stepping into someone's home or patio. The food has that made-from-scratch feel to it, and is always fresh and high quality. I've had breakfast and lunch here and haven't left a crumb behind either time. I loved the waffle with berries for breakfast, and the veggie sandwich at lunch time. I also LOVED the drink menu-- had the best matcha latte with housemade syrup (passionfruit I think?) and a really delicious old fashioned caramel latte. Some people might consider the downside of a place like this to be the small kitchen, as it can impact wait times and the kitchen's ability to accommodate specific requests. However!! I think this just makes the experience more special-- having to slow down and savor a dining experience instead of rushing from place to place is truly a treat. Although not always speedy necessarily, I've had amazing service every time I've visited here. On one occasion we had longer wait times for our food and were treated with a delicious cake at the end of our meal. On another, we had a very minor snafu happen where a server was adjusting an umbrella and accidentally knocked something over on the table next to us-- the staff comped all of our meals out of consideration which was just so generous and understanding. Overall I can't recommend this place enough! They have so many fun menus and specials. I can't wait to try their Peasant night in a few weeks. Grateful to have this spot in the neighborhood!

Went a few times for coffee and once for breakfast as we were staying at the inn at sunset cliffs…read more Location was very convenient obviously and it's a cozy small cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Coffee and lemonade were delicious. Service was hit or miss - good when we got things to go but lacking when we ate in. Definitely on the slower side and honestly not very pleasant. Food was okay. We got a relish tray to go which was good (hard to mess up pickled veggies though) but seemed like a small portion for the cost. For breakfast I got the breakfast tacos - they're more like tostadas though since the tortilla is fried. It was good, not phenomenal. My friend got the avocado toast. It was toasted slices of baguette with avocado on them, rather than one or two larger pieces of toasted bread. Toppings looked good but the toast was about 20 seconds from being actually burnt - very hard without anything close to a soft inside (my friend said it cut up her mouth - she couldn't even finish the last piece). Maybe some of their other dishes are better or maybe dinner would have been a better choice. I'd probably go again for convenience sake, but I wouldn't recommend making a special trip out to try it if you're not already in the area. TLDR; coffee is good, food is okay, service hot or miss. Go if convenient, otherwise likely isn't worth a special trip.
