I've been twice now since they've opened. Visit #1 - lunch visit with 7 coworkers. We went at about 12:30, everyone got good parkting, and we found the table one of our coworkers was holding for us. It was a 6 person table so we stole some chairs from the bar to fit :) Everyone liked the atmosphere, the menus, etc. We decided to get 7 different pizzas (8 total) and split them so everyone could try a variety. Loved our pizzas! On visit #1 we had great service. I can' tell you our waitress' name but she was a drink-ninja. Everyone got refills multiple times, without asking. We took a long lunch so the place cleared out a bit by the time we finished and the owner/manager was walking around greeting customers. We chatted with him for awhile. Friendly guy! Visit #2 - After the success of visit #1, I decided to bring my folks here to try the BBQ pizza (that I LOVED). Visit #2 was less successful. Pizza was still amazing but we felt the service kinks that several others have reported. We sat for quite a long time waiting for the waitress to pick up our orders, watched her walk around with our number for about 20 minutes before she brought it over, and didn't get refills until we'd finished our pizza and asked for the check. At that point, she went to get me a refill and forgot to come back. When she came back to pick up our payment, she realized she left my drink on the bar and went and got me a new one. They were very, very busy so that was probably part of it. I got the feeling she hadn't been waitressing for very long herself. I'm giving it a 3-star rating just because the service wasn't good on visit #2. I'm not writing this place off yet, I plan on visiting again sometime and seeing if they can't increase their rating with me :) read more

Lived in C.V. for almost 50 years. Except for 6 year Bachelor's program in I.C. Saltiest food I have ever had. Not just pizza: Food. I didn't have the heart to complain to my server bc so far she has been the most pleasant caucasian Gen Z-er I've come across in the C.V. I can not see how someone that doesn't smoke three packs of filter-less Pal Malls a day could stand the saltiness. Crust seemed very undercooked unless supposed to be that way. Insanely limp though. 10" pizza. I had to hold on to it w/both hands so the piece wouldn't flop down at the juncture between outer rim of crust and the sauce/cheese part. read more

Having had a bad experience at another fast-fired pizza place, I was reluctant to try out Urban Pie. Some Yelp reviews convinced me to give it a go, and I'm glad we did. Good selection on tap, and they made my husband a solid Dirty Martini. My Veghead pizza was a great combination, well done, and husband's Supreme was also agreeably devoured. Son found the balsamic on his Margherita a little overwhelming. Service was expeditious and attentive, and it was great to get the pizzas so quickly. read more

Meh- uninspired. Reminded me of frozen pizza. We ate the whole thing because we were hungry, but all three pizza's were not very flavorful.

I'm going to begin by saying that I am a chef and give the industry people credit most of the time for there hard work and long hours. Having said that we tried out urban pie last night expecting a new fresh place to get a decent pizza in cedar falls. We were verryyy wrong. We walked in and nobody helped us out or welcomed us. Not such a good start to our visit. Next we ordered a basic margarita pizza. They took our order and gave us a number for our to go food. We waited for 45 minutes. I understand that it was busy but nobody said it will be right out or can we offer you something while you wait. Nothing!!! I watched the kitchen mess up a few pizzas that were to small then the oven operator came over and said they could "reuse" the messed up pizza. Just so happens that's the pizza we were given after 45 minutes of waiting. Better yet it got so chaotic in the kitchen we watched the owner walk on back and start operating the pizza oven. He knowingly cooked our pizza that was well below quality and no bigger than 5.5inches big. They state you get a 10inch pizza. Not the case. He rushed our order into a Togo box and handed it to us. This was a terrible thing for the owner to do. He should have re fired the pizza and started with a better quality version and apologized to us but he didn't. That was just while we waited for our pizza. When we finally got the pizza we looked at it and New it wasn't up to par with size and shape. Next we tried the pizza. It was terrible. Tasted like canned sauce and cheap ingredients. We could have gone to Tony's a few doors down and got a better pizza and that place is not so good either. We finally had to toss the rest of the pizza after a few bites and call it quits. We just moved to Cedar falls a few months ago and have come to expect less than stellar food quality but this had to be our worst experience yet. All the owner had to do was not sell us that terrible, extra small poor quality pizza and apologize to us and re fire the order. The only reason I'm giving you a 1 star rating is because a kind female server came up to us after we had been waiting for over 30 minutes and asked us if we had been helped. I've been here a few times and the service is always slow. Nice staff, but slow. Today my food came out after we waited a long time and everything was cold which was a bummer because I love the margherita pizza. First time at Urban Pie and wow...I will return! Good spot for kids (also eat free on Wednesday's!), food was amazing with a great selection, it was extremely clean and staff was very courteous. I had a build your own pizza as did my wife. I had a couple wings (pay per wing) and she had a side salad for an appetizer. Side salad nothing special but those wings were amazing! Only down fall is beer is around $6 each. read more

Went with my family of 4 & we were pleased. Staff was friendly & helpful, and took the time to give us instructions. The order sheets gave good descriptions (prices were listed) and pizza was delicious! I'm not sure if they forgot to charge us for sodas or if they were included in price. We also ordered wings that are sourced from a local butcher & they were amazing. I don't even usually like wings! My only reason for 4 vs 5 stars is that prices were a little on the high side and I wish there were size options. We'll be back! read more

The perfect neighborhood restaurant. Love coming here because it's easy, people are friendly and the pizza is awesome. Try the margherita pizza but add pepperoni and garlic (life changing). The bar has a great atmosphere and I can't wait for the patio to open. This place takes cedar falls up a notch. read more

Underwhelming food, but not bad. On a positive note, the service is good and the options are endless. But if you are looking for great pizza and wings, this really isn't a first choice. The Goat Herder pizza is amazing! Absolutely love the spicy marinara sauce on the pizza. The pizzas are reasonably priced. The wings are expensive, but the Garlic Parmesan wings are the best wings I have ever had. The service has been on the slower side every time I've been here and the waitress/waiters forget to check on refills. The food is great though! read more

This was our first time at Urban Pie and it was a hit! The service was great! The pizza was the best we've had in town and it was the perfect size! I even asked if they carry gluten free crust, and they do! They to me just to make sure that the server knew about any allergies, so that they can take extra care! New pizza place in downtown Cedar Falls. From what I'd heard it was along the trend of Neopolitan pies with thin soft crust and rapid bake at high temperature. The pizza was not bad but fell short of the mark. It was too thick and doughy to be Neapolitan but not crusty enough on the outside to be New York Style. Also the toppings were not fully cooked into the cheese and sauce. I had the Goatherder , but I could not taste any goat cheese whatsoever. Service was OK, setting was comfortable and casual. I think with time, they will eventually get things right and would be willing to try again. One suggestion- it was not clear to me as a newcomer if I was supposed to write my menu choice on the clipboard and go to the counter to order or wait for a waitress, so I would recommend making this clear on the sign at the entrance ( to sit and wait for the waitstaff) read more

We ordered in the store. After about 15 minutes my friend's two pizzas were the only ones in the oven. I had order right after they did. I looked and saw three pizzas ready to go into the oven, but none was the supreme I ordered. I said something and they quickly made one and put it in to cook. I don't know how you can say your pizzas are fast fried when it took at least 20 minutes to get my pizza. I can go to any place in town that that makes pizzas and order and be served faster than my one and only experience at Urban Pie.. read more

DELICIOUS!!! Took daughter at UNI out for a quick bite while in Cedar Falls. We each had a 10 inch pizza, split some wings, and had Carmel apple pie dessert pizza to top things off. I'm not sure which we enjoyed the most. The naked wings were unexpectedly yummy with the sweet thai chili dipping sauce. Really liked the thin crust on the pizzas. Very reasonable prices. read more

Nice atmosphere with modern/industrial design. We sat ourselves and were quickly greeted by a waitress. She was wonderful and polite, explained how the menu ordering sheets worked. We chose to create our own pizzas which were absolutely delicious. We will certainly be back again. read more

The pizza is pretty good and reasonably priced. If you're really hungry, it may not be enough food. My complaint is that there always seems to be a bunch of college kids there talking (cursing) very loudly. I'm not a prude or anything, but if I'm eating dinner with my wife, I'd rather not here a bunch of 20 year olds cackling and cursing and farting and being inappropriate with waitresses. Go to Tony's for better environment and Mulligan's for better pizza. read more

Finally tried this place out last night. They had live music on their patio which was really good and made for a fun atmosphere. Ordered some pizzas and cheese bread to go and had a beer while we waited. Took about 15 mins. The supreme was super salty (and we like salty foods), chicken cordon blue pizza was really tasty. The cheesebread was just meh, nothing special, came with marinara. It's not knock your socks off great but it's not a horrible place to grab a beer and get a quick bite to eat. There is better pizza places around but if we're in the area we have no reason to not give it a second try! read more

The worst pizza ... a half step above Red Baron. I am giving it 2 stars because the atmosphere is fun, the service friendly, the cocktail / beer selection is very good, and Steege's smoked chicken wings are excellent. However the main attraction is terrible. I had the Carne Asada pizza - there was a claim of pico de gallo and cilantro. A couple of flecks of green and no jalapeno in the pico de gallo. Blech. So go for a cocktail and the chicken wings and seek pizza elsewhere. read more

Went on a Friday night, and it was really busy. Found a spot and sat down and had a nice waitress. The meal took longer than I had thought but once again they were busy so what do you expect, esp for good pizza it typically takes a lil longer. The flavor was good and I like the crust. my friend and i decided to go try this place out on the first day, it was very busy because it was the first day of its opening. when we went in there, we waited a couple of minutes for the instructions, they were busy so it was understandable. anyway, there are no prices on the sheets (menu?) which was okay in a way, but would be nice if there were. the place was pretty, and the service was good. the cashier helped me decide whether to get a take out or dine in since our time was limited. so then we decided to get a take out and get vegetarian and street taco pizzas, both were said to be 10 inches and they were overall, $20. it was somewhat expensive, but i totally get that it was a new place and the pizzas may be a little fancier. so we waited 20-30 minutes for our pizzas and when we got it, we were very disappointed. the pizzas were actually way smaller than my hands (and my hands are pretty small). they got one of the orders wrong, which was street taco that was supposed to come with steak (and other veggies ?), but it only came with a little bit of onions and tomatoes. it was already too late to let them know at this point because we were hurrying to go to a protest rally. so we left but was looking forward to taste the pizzas. unfortunately, they were both basically the same thing with different toppings. they were dull, the crust was thin and tasted like burnt toasts, while the pizza itself was undercooked. the sauce was mediocre. it doesn't worth $20 at all. but overall, i do hope they improve, but as of now, i'd rather go to marcos. read more
