Looks small from outside but plenty of seating inside and then outdoor patio that large (windy the day we were there so stayed inside). Looks like garage doors open up to let in fresh air during summer. Large bar seating. We had 3 meals - Turkey Club, Chicken Truffle sandwich and Birria Melt. All were excellent. Spring for the $3 fries. Very good and a sizable portion. Server was quick and friendly. Would definitely come here again! Updating review from brunch (about three years ago). We sat on the patio tonight and it was very well shaded with the trees and the umbrellas. Our server was quick and helpful. We ordered a side of fries for the table. Must get the ranch. While the same owners run George's and Patton's, I have to say the fries were better at Patton's. I had the Greek flatbread and it was delicious. The base was like a creamed spinach with toppings of feta, banana peppers, tomatoes, and Kalamata olives. I would order it again. I also had a Hugo Spritz which was amazing. The only hitch in the evening was that they only had one bartender so drinks were a little slow. This is a great place to have dinner and relax. read more

It was RAGBRAI and yes that is a crazy influx but not a surprise. 1 hour 23 minutes for our appetizer and 4 changes to what we ordered as we would order they would come back and have run out and that occurred 3 more times. The staff and kitchen were trying for sure. The owner or manager just kept walking around ( not helping!) and telling staff to get moving. Interesting to watch and cringe this behavior for quite some time. Good when it arrived was ok. Let me be clear my husband & son has been there 3 hours before for a drink & app at the bar and liked it so much the wanted me to experience dinner there ... same day just a few hours and they were not keeping up and kept seating tables even when they should have held a bit. read more

My husband and I go here pretty much 1 x a week when the weather gets warmer. The food is always great, the servers are always on spot and management listens and wants to correct any mishaps. Our dog loves it., she gets to lay out on the patio and they always ask if we want water for her. I feel like I'm on vacation here which is one of the reason I like to go. We had an igloo for my stepdaughter's birthday and it was absolutely delightful. We went for a Saturday morning brunch time. The breakfast pizza is amazing. Honestly, if I could give this restaurant more stars, I think I would. I love the ambience of every aspect of this restaurant. The bar, the decor and interior seating, the absolute beautiful patio with festoon lighting and an outdoor bar. It is all perfectly Instagram worthy. Equally as impressive was the food. My favorite was the tuna tots, but these chicken tacos were delicious in their own right. I only wish they weren't as messy. I really wanted to like this restaurant and based on the other reviews gave it a shot for their Sunday morning brunch. Great ambiance. The music selection is really good and not played too loud. The wait for our food was ridiculous. At almost thirty-five minutes I happened to look at my watch wondering when we were going to get our food. Our waitress must have seen me looking at my watch and came over to the table. She explained the kitchen was backed up and we were the next ticket. Ten minutes later we finally had our food. Food was average at best and for the wait I would have thought it would have come out hotter. In addition to how long it took to get our food getting refills was slow and instead of it being offered we had to flag down our waitress to request more. Maybe this was just an off day, but not sure if I would recommend it to a friend. read more

We went here with a group of ten friends. I called the day before and they were incredibly accommodating and willing to reserve a table for us. As an appetizer, we ordered the fried cheese curds. They were amazing and probably the best I've ever had. Light and fluffy breading; "like eating a baby angel," my son said. So of course we ordered two more baskets to share with our group! For entrees, I ordered the Yakitori chicken fried rice, and it was flavorful. My husband got the chicken tender basket. They had a nice selection of sauces to choose from to go with it. Friends at the table ordered the Beast Burger and said it was amazing. They would come back for it another time, they said. Really fun ambience, friendly servers...I highly recommend! Do check your bill before you go. There's a $2.50 service fee for using a credit card. They don't tell you about it, so you have to discover it. The overall atmosphere and service has been great every time I've been to George's Local (probably between 5-10 times now). They have a nice outdoor setting, especially in the summertime. My friend and I came today on a whim. The place was very busy but our servers were super attentive and sweet. Taylor almost also won the stein holding contest! The food was AMAZING! We were here with friends and everyone else enjoyed their meaty meals I think. I ordered the couscous salad and was sorely disappointed as it was just arugula, cold couscous and a few sprinkles of goat cheese. It had a whole list of toppings that were missing like spring peas, asparagus, tomatoes, golden raisins and nuts. When I asked about this the very nice manager said my sever should have mentioned that it would be missing those as they are getting ready to take this off the menu. As much as I love the atmosphere at George's and the friendly service, they are severley lacking in their menu. They do not offer a single vegan option besides the salads which can be made vegan upon request. This was frustrating and disappointing. I expect more from an establishment that pride's itself on serving locally sourced cuisine. They do not even offer a plant-based burger substitute. At the end of the day, if you go out to eat, the food is paramount, and if you're vegan, George's has very little to offer you. read more

I'm going to give this place a second try because I really wanted to love it. I went for brunch and ordered huevos. It looked gorgeous at first... perfect sunny eggs. When I cut into the dish it had tator tot rounds in it...a whole bunch. Basically all tator tots. I expected a lot more craft in the food than frozen deep fried tator tots. I will go back and try something else...but I would not recommend the huevos. read more
