They are so grateful to see you and serve and it shows here. The cheese curds to start were amazing especially when paired with their special buffalo/ranch sauce. And it is a sports bar so there is a tv at every booth. I am slightly sad that their gluten free menu is under construction at the moment and no one could help me out because I wanted to try something new. But I have been here before so I just had to ask a few questions to the waitor. Joey was very helpful but seemed slightly overwhelmed when I started asking questions based on food allergies. It was also quite busy considering we walked in a little before 8pm on Saturday so maybe that was part of it. If you have never been upstairs I highly reccomend doing so. It is slightly quieter then the main floor and they do have a billard table if you enjoy that. I was however frustrated that the 2nd floor bathrooms were locked and I could not get help to get the bathroom unlocked. They have a seperate fryer, gf buns, and gf chicken wings. I love being able to find a place that has so many options. My sister and I had the chicken philly sandwich on a gluten free bun, no cheese or aioli because we are allergic to gluten and dairy. We both ordered our sandwiches with a side of fries. The bun was very dry, more so then usual. Normally it is flavorful and soft. It almost felt like they had left it out when they should not of.

We did sit upstairs where it was a bit quieter. Our server seemed baffled by our beer orders and didn't know what was on tap. We waited a length of time to have her come and take our food orders and even longer for it to arrive. When it came, everything was either luke warm or cold. It did, however, taste just fine. The server that brought our food didn't smile or speak loud enough to be heard. It wasn't like it was bad....it just wasn't great.

It's a great atmosphere, pretty decent beer menu (found on a chalkboard up on the east wall), and some good eats. Our absolute favorite part is that they play old rock music videos from the '60-90s. We LOVE that. It's the perfect place to bring parents. I had the bacon cheeseburger, which is good, but I'd love to see more bacon on my bacon cheeseburger. It just had two sad, little slices of bacon on it. And I do dislike when restaurants offer chips and make you pay more for fries. But their beer-battered fries are quite delicious. My only complaint is that the craft beers come out in frosted mugs, which makes the beer too cold to properly taste. I'd love to see some different unfrosted glasses coming out and keeping those frosted glasses for the Budweisers and Coors of the world. When I'm craving a pub burger and fries, this is our spot. And yes, one of these times my parents come to town, we are taking them out for dinner. Who knows, maybe my stepdad will break out his air guitar if AC/DC comes on. :)

They often have food trucks stop by, including La Calle, which is always delicious. There is live music on the weekends (including some metal shows, which my husband loves). The flatbread is huge--at least two meals' worth--as are the salads. Beer's available in full pours, half pours, and flights, so it's easy to sample a few in one sitting. And don't miss the specials--especially inventive soups. There's plenty of seating options, too--a nice patio, bar stools, and a couple rooms full of tables and booths. Cheers!

There is ample space inside and out, and it's all very open and clean, though the inside dining areas are separated into large rooms, which I think would help with noise control when it's busy. We visited around 7:45 on a Friday evening in August and found it remarkably not crowded, but they have another location in Cedar Falls that probably draws a larger crowd. We were at the Waterloo location, which probably caters to a lot of business people and business travelers during the week. We ordered a lot of food for two people, and it was all excellent, but I rate this cool place four stars because all the food came out of the kitchen at once and we were totally overwhelmed. If it had been paced, I think we could have pulled it off, and as travelers, we couldn't really take leftovers with us to have another day. Our server was extremely helpful and patient helping me understand their beverage selections. I enjoy a good cocktail or a glass of good wine, but my beer tastes are even more limited, but SingleSpeed offered up the perfect solution: the SingleSpeed-a-rita.
