I must say that this was most unfortunate because the food was very ordinary. The General Patton Chicken's chicken was okay, but far too dry to hold up with in the fried rice that surrounded it. Not a lot to say about the egg rolls either, and my wife persevered through a rather pedestrian lo mein dish. Obviously, Patton Diner was not at the height of its powers on this evening due to the very limited menu. This does leave hope that a more traditional menu would live up to its strong reputation.

The BEC Sandy had plenty of egg on it and was tasty. Portions were decent but not huge. The restaurant is long and narrow so it doesn't have a lot of out of the way places. It was also brightly lit. Coffee was good and they had a good selection of premium coffee drinks as well. Service was friendly and our server checked in on us appropriately and filled coffee as needed. All in all a really nice breakfast option different from the usual.

The French toast is amazing and I love french toast, I had some with my omelet. The omelet is a thinner version. Cooked on a flat top, folded and filled beautifully with all the goodies I requested. It was delicious! I ate far more of both the omelet AND the french toast! Yummmm. My partner had the sampler (top left on the menu). The server said you had to try it. It had eggs, meat, a side of French toast, AND a 1/4 biscuit with gravy! We took a bite of the sausage with a bite of the biscuit and gravy which was perfect! It's a great atmosphere, pretty decent beer menu (found on a chalkboard up on the east wall), and some good eats. Our absolute favorite part is that they play old rock music videos from the '60-90s. We LOVE that. It's the perfect place to bring parents. I had the bacon cheeseburger, which is good, but I'd love to see more bacon on my bacon cheeseburger. It just had two sad, little slices of bacon on it. And I do dislike when restaurants offer chips and make you pay more for fries. But their beer-battered fries are quite delicious. My only complaint is that the craft beers come out in frosted mugs, which makes the beer too cold to properly taste. I'd love to see some different unfrosted glasses coming out and keeping those frosted glasses for the Budweisers and Coors of the world. When I'm craving a pub burger and fries, this is our spot. And yes, one of these times my parents come to town, we are taking them out for dinner. Who knows, maybe my stepdad will break out his air guitar if AC/DC comes on. :)

Back in the day, Greenhouse definitely did something different with their chicken. If my memory serves me correctly, they used to have seasoned, cubed chicken pieces, but it seems they have moved to a watery, shredded chicken instead. The other ingredients seemed to be the same, fresh items, but the new chicken was a big disappointment for me. The food here used to consistently hit 9+ out of 10 for me, but during my last visit it was more in the 6-7 range. Giving this spot a 4/5 rating since I'm hoping my last stop in was a fluke.
