This it one of the funnest stores in West Edmonton Mall. Even if a person isn't looking for clothes, there are a number of gadgets, books, and music that would be entertaining. It seems when you go into the store, there's always something new. On my recent visit, my husband headed straight for the records and they don't update their stock often. Most fans of records likely go to specialty stores. I like looking at the gadgets and browse the sale section. I found a few cute key covers that included cupcakes, sushi, and hamburger designs. How could you not use and love them for $2? Even if you don't buy anything, I'm sure you will find something funny or entertaining in this store. This, by far, is my favorite store in West Edmonton Mall. They have great clothing here. The t-shirts are so vintage, stylish and a pretty good price too ($20-$30). They also have a bunch of other things like trendy pictures and items to decorate your house, books, vinyl CD's, games, lego camera's, etc. It's like a cool hip novelty shop. I love to check out this store just to see what kind of cool stuff they have and even if you aren't looking to buy anything you will enjoy yourself just browsing around. I always find something I like here and have to stop myself from buying things I don't necessarily need. The staff is cool, they leave you alone and are available if you need any help. The store is unlike any other in the mall and worth taking a look at no matter what your style is. read more

Urban Outfitters is a fun place to shop. It's a bit pricey in my opinion but they do have nice stuff. The general theme of the store is pretty mod. They have really nice, unique, mod clothing for men and women. But they also have home decor items and gifts. The gifts are my favorite part of the store. They have some really funny books and some pretty unique gift ideas. One of the books the carry is Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. It's a great book! If you're looking for a gift for someone - something unique - I would check out Urban Outfitters. I'd be willing to bet that you will find something awesome! read more

I lose it over the prices here, especially when they mark t-shirts, dresses and sweaters down to silly prices like $5 or $10 or $15. If that's how far they can mark their (gorgeous) clothes down, then I just can't justify buying something full price here! The store is a very cool space filled with trendy, hipster clothes with even trendier, hipster-ier employees. Unless you're wearing ankle boots, tights, leggings, ripped denim shorts, an unmatching TV and vest, and a fedora, you just won't fit in. While I don't think I fall into that clothing category, I have found cute t-shirts and cardigans here. They also have a solid collection of accessories like sunglasses and shoes. It's worth coming by when they open early on Boxing Day, too! read more

I don't have a whole lot to say about Urban Outfitters' stock that the other Yelpers haven't covered here already. UO are a pop-culture explosion that will keep geeks and fashion slaves entertained for days. What hasn't been covered here in-depth yet is UO's music section. Their vinyl selection is scant. They'll have multiple copies of a single title. The prices of their records are pretty ridiculous too. The prices for a single album range from $25 to $40 but can be even higher. They were charging $68 dollars for the new reissue of Pink Floyd's "The Wall." Also, their method of storing the vinyl is really clumsy and makes the records more susceptible to damage. If you're under 6 feet tall you'll need a foot stool to stand on when you're looking through the albums. If you go to UO for the purpose of record shopping you will be disappointed. They sell record players too but they're all poor quality machines that are also overpriced. They're basically just novelty players that are designed to be cool conversation pieces in your hip downtown apartment. They have really cool "aged" vintage T-shirts of old TV shows, rock bands, and comic book characters. Also pricey. There is a small selection of books too. Most of them are novelty joke books that you will tire of as soon as you've flipped through them once. If you go to UO for the purpose of book shopping you will be disappointed. read more

Urban Outfitters is a chain of hipster stores selling ultra-hip, ultra-cool housewares, and men's and women's attire and footwear. You can throw in some neat books and toys as well. The concept originated in large cities around selling affordable but chic clothes, accessories, furniture and other household items to apartment dwellers. They do a good job of staying with and ahead of the trends without going too "fashion forward" that you'd never see yourself owning or wearing their stuff. For the stuff you're buying, it's reasonably priced. The trouble with the store in Edmonton is that it's in West Edmonton Mall which dilutes it's cool. In SoHo, it's on lower Broadway. In LA, it's on Melrose Avenue. In Montreal, it's on Saint Catherine's. In Vancouver, it's on South Granville. In London, there's one on Kensington High Street and one on Oxford Street. So, here's a legitimate SoHo, Knightsbridge, Melrose Avenue shop that's in a mall so that most Edmontonians don't know what they have available. read more

I love this store! So much fun stuff, so much vintage, and great customer service :) i found a gorgeous white lace dress, only 1 left in the store in my size. The only issue was the zipper was broken ( only went half-way, even when i wasn't wearing it lol) they offered me 30% off which is more then enough to get the zipper fixed. I must have to admit that they do have an interesting product mix. I especially like their books and home items. I would probably never buy clothing there because there seems to be too many of each item and I personally don't like cookie cutter fashion. Most of my closet is full of Urban Outfitters clothes. They have amazing sales and the housewares and book selection is super awesome if you are into cheesy- retro items. I have to be careful when going to West Edmonton mall as I find I always spend money in this store. Granted I do have to agree that the clothes at full price are a little low quality for the price but if its on sale, go for it. Staff is a little vapid and not really that friendly and knowledgeable so just be fore warned. read more

I love love love this store. You can get some pretty wacky things here. They sell a lot of clothing and accessories but they also sell awesome home furnishings and decor, books, and random knick knacks. Some of their books are sexy and racy, others are just funny. The home decor is somewhat 60's modern style. I found a beautiful rose shaped candle holder here and some awesome goblets (black with skulls). The prices are not bad, but most of it is too pricey for me to make regular visits. I would love to furnish my place with everything from here if I had the money. The clothes are not really my style and I have never bought any clothes from here, but it is a great place to take a look around and possibly even purchase a little something. read more

Urban Outfitters seems like the kind of store that should be located on Whyte Avenue instead of West Edmonton Mall. Filled with hip, trendy clothing, alternative music CDs, all kinds of gag and novelty gifts, and books on topics from sex to fashion, Urban Outfitters is cool in a hipster magazine sort of way. The staff pretty well leaves you alone to browse, but appear to be pretty responsive to questions if you can get their attention. Some of the fashions may look like they come from bargain bins, but don't expect bargain prices - trendiness comes with a price tag. I've picked up a few fun novelties here like a long chain with clips dangling all the way down it, to display photos in a unique way. There is also a cool selection of disposable and inexpensive analog cameras for those who are into taking pictures the old-fashioned way. read more

A lot of people seem to have something against Urban Outfitters. Me, I don't think it's so bad. Although the West Edmonton Mall location has nothing on Toronto's Yonge St. shop, you can still find great bargains on items the trendy kids are over at the back of the store, and pick up the latest items of cool as dictated by Vice Magazine. I was pretty excited to find pairs of tight cords, but less than enthused about the apathetic store employees who kind of gave me attitude when I wondered about shoe sizes. But what can you expect from a store staffed entirely by high-school hipsters? One thing I do love about Urban Outfitters is their dedication to cool analog photography; they stock products from Lomography, a European company reissuing popular cult camera makes like the Holga and the Diana. Pick up a fish-eye lens camera, ones that take four small coloured shots in one frame, or even Hello Kitty disposable cameras that put you in the picture with Kitty. read more

Great place for casual-wear and definitely more affordable than other places in town offering similar styles. Not only are regular priced items fairly priced, there's always a sale going on with tons of sizes still available. Not a big fan. I used to shop tons at Urban Outfitters years ago, and I think it's changed a lot. The quality of their clothes seems to have decreased, and the store seems very overcrowded and cluttered, like I don't know where to begin looking. They occasionally will have a few things that I don't mind, even though I generally find myself looking in the sale section because most things are overpriced for me. I have a few miscellaneous items from here that I wear fairly regularly, but I have had to throw so many things out because of rips, tears, and things breaking. It depends a lot on when you go, but most of the time I'm not willing to spend $60 on a low quality t-shirt. The biggest disappointment for me is their vinyl section. Of course, going to UO, you should not expect a ton from their record section. The first two records I purchased from there skipped and were very low quality. I went in to return them and I asked what was up, and the employee told me that when they ship things in, they get damaged fairly often and it's a big complaint. This put me off, and I haven't bought any records from there since. I also bought a record player from here a few years ago, one that was portable and easy for me to carry around. It did not work at all, and it was cheap quality. I do like their selection of posters, and they have an alright selection of books and knick knacks. However, in general, I try to avoid shopping here as much as possible. read more

So Curtis and I were walking through West Edmonton Mall, we like to walk and it's really cold outside these days so we walk around the mall, and we came across this really interesting store. They had some really fun looking vases and bowls on display and it totally drew me in to see that else the store had to offer. I'm sure Curtis rolled his eyes when I hold him I wanted to go in. Well we wondered around the store and saw some fun things like records and even some record players. Curtis is an artist and he found this book with old, real records as the cover and blank sheets on the inside. He was already thinking of the drawings he would put in there. They had fun rugs that I would totally get if I had the money to spend. They had paintings, books (I found an interesting book that I really wanted to get, it's called The Lie), clothes (men and women), shoes, hair stuff, necklaces, and other things that had an antique look to them. The style of the hates were old school looking that seems to be coming back, I would say the style is a 60's style. Best of all, I found a type of journal that I have always wanted. It is a soft brown leather cover and it looks old and worn out, just what I have been looking for. I'm sure it was fate! All-in-all even Curtis liked the store and we go back there once in a while and imagine what we would by if we had our own house and if we actually had money. Prices were a little expensive (everything seems that way when you don't have any money) but compared to what I have seen I would think its average. For example, a winter jacket I looked at was about $140 and that seems to be the price range these days for a good winter coat. The cute shoes they had were pretty cheap, like $20. Also the hair bands, which were really cool, were between $10 and $20. I really love just looking around that store. read more

The home section of Urban Outfitters is what draws me to this store over and over again. There are so many unique items for sale! I just love retro looking electronics such as radios, vinyl players, phones and especially cameras. Anybody who is interested in lomography knows how hard it is to find reasonably priced lomo cameras, and how hard they are to find period. Urban Outfitters has quite nice selection of cameras including Holga and Diana F+, as well as 110 mm film. If it wasn't for Urban Outfitters, I would have never known the joy of lomography. The selection of furniture at Edmonton's Urban Outfitters quite limited, but there is ample selection of decorative objects and home accessories. There are always funky looking rugs, throws and bedding for sale. Some items are more minimalistic and toned down, while others are way out there and a little too over the top (in a good way). In addition to accessories for the home, Urban Outfitters sells fun books, games and toys. Here you can find books of photography and hello kitty figures, board games and, if you are in luck, a telescope. I like that while everything at Urban Outfitters looks retro, it exudes modern twist. I also like the store's prices: nothing is overly expensive, and there is no sense of guilt if I buy something fun but utterly useless. read more

Any time I make a stop at WEM this shop is one of my definite stops. the odd/small toy collection material they have there is stimulating. You can find great gifts here between $20-$30, perfect for Secret Santa. It reminds me of a novelty Whyte Ave store but in the mall. If your a hipster you have definitely been here. The clothing itself caters to a particular crowd I find. I can find the odd tshirt but anything other than that the price seems a little steep. The staff I don't care too much about as they think they are too cool and kind of snub you if you don't fit their vibe. The store itself is really large and located right next to the ice palace so depending which way you walk around the rink you may miss it. read more

They have the greatest staff in the world! So helpful, stylish and nice. Went in there to buy a shirt and came out with an outfit ( Shirt, sweater, pants and shoes) ! I was a former employee and honestly the environment was great until a new manager stepped in. The store manager constantly dictates whatever you do on the floor to an extent where "micro-managing" gets out of hand. Given a scenario where I was embarrassingly called out for not tucking in a tag inside a pair of denim in a tone of voice where a mother who was shopping later set me aside and apologized for having to deal with a manager like that is absurdly embarrassing. Service leading is a time for managing not be on your phone and giggle then after cat call employees on something that we aren't doing "right" yet another reason for you to find towards doing your "job" yikes. Flexibility towards schedules and shifts being covered were quite an issue, the store manager would ideally ask you to book it off a month in advance but whenever my colleagues and I did it was never fully approved whatsoever but rather we were threatened to get write ups if we were scheduled on that day and no one was to cover it if the two shift covers were up for us which is truly unfair on our ends. All in all the other managers are great and nice including employees as everyone gets along pretty well. read more
