GO ELSEWHERE~ Bad integrity with warranty! I purchased a VERY expensive wool\spring mattress from Urban Mattress with a 20 year NON-prorated warranty. $3,095 + tax. The mattress is failing and there are sunken areas in which my body now sinks in around 25% (I mostly sleep on my back)! I weigh slightly over 100lbs. I'm not a heavy person putting undo stress on the mattress. Based on some comments from Urban Mattress, I've discovered this mattress is failing for many people, not just me. The customer service lady first offered to replace with a USED display mattress! That's not what the promise of the warranty is! They are refusing to replace it with the same despite the NON-PRORATED warranty, unless I pay an additional $900. They want me to participate in their replacement cost! I even offered to let them substitute with a different but similar brand of wool mattress that costs less. They said no. They said they'd replace (for free) with a latex mattress. I did not purchase a latex mattress! I purchased a very expensive wool one because I'm allergic to latex and also chemical sensitive. Wool mattresses have no toxins, no latex, do not off gas, and have no toxic fire retardants. The customer service person (not sure, but I think she's the daughter of the owner) said her mother and sister have latex allergies and were OK with their latex and asked me to try one of their organic latex pillows. I agreed in hopes of compromise and getting this resolved, even though it's not a wool mattress. I tried the organic latex pillow and broke out in hives. Of all the crazy off the wall things, after breaking out in hives from the latex pillow test, they offered to give me a free box spring instead of a new mattress to replace my failed mattress. I have a platform type bed that I bought from them when I purchased the mattress. It is 100% complaint with the mattress warranty and in very good condition! My 20 year non-prorated warranty is for the mattress! It's not for a box spring, not a latex mattress... it's for a wool\spring mattress. Shop elsewhere! They don't stand behind the warranty's for their mattresses. read more

If you are looking for a mattress that is something out of the ordinary or have very special requirements, this is the place. It's family owned and run and the family member I worked with was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. No high pressure but was happy to spend time with me and write up a proposal even though I was not ready to buy immediately. These are high cost mattresses but worth it, given that they include a lot of natural components, not just the mass produced trend of the year. They even called me in advance of a special sale recently to let me know the savings on my choice. It's wonderful that they don't upsell by package pricing like a lot of the chains. You can actually get "just" a mattress if that's what you want and need. We had recently already changed our base and want to assess that before changing another aspect. I will be back when I am ready to make the purchase of this model or the more expensive one I am still considering as there are pro and cons of each and a higher end product I have had in the past. read more

URBAN MATTRESS is the best! We went to every mattress store in a 40 mile radius. Tried them all. We bought a Beauty Rest 4.5 years ago.. it was terrible sinking pillow top within 2 years. We almost bought a high end mattress for $7,500. 9 months ago we walked in to URBAN MATTRESS and Billy Williams showed us the top of a typical mattress pillow top rolled up and then he showed us his pillow top rolled up. It was 4-5 times heavier. We have slept on it for 9 months and it is a wonderful even sleep. If there were more than 5 stars plus...... Highly pleased and would recommend!!! read more

This store offers a variety of mattresses from basic all the way to super deluxe. I was most pleased to see that they offered an eco smart Urban Organics line, offset their carbon footprint, and donate a portion of their sales to charity. The staff are knowledgeable, personable, and sincerely want to help you make an informed decision on your investment. Being new in town, and having arrived without a bed I was somewhat in a pickle. The staff were very helpful (lending my dad and I a tape measure so as to make sure I ordered a bed that was appropriately sized to my new bedroom). Their kindness and generosity did not stop there. As my mattress would take about a week to come in the salesmen kindly sent me away with a loaner mattress (previously a floor model). I do want to note that although Urban Mattress does not deliver on Sunday their delivery driver (who happened to stop in the store on his day off) loaded up my loaner mattress in the Urban Mattress truck and delivered it to my apartment. Bottom line is if you or anyone you know is in the market for a bed/mattress they should definitely go to Urban Mattress. read more

Wonderful buying experience! While we were in Boulder, we searched for mattress stores, and located this gem. Their service was phenomenal, and they really took the time to make sure we were choosing the right mattress for us, not them. I especially appreciate their low-pressure approach to sales (I've had bad experiences with pushy mattress salespeople). Mattress delivery was fast (a couple hours after our purchase), and everything was very easy. This was certainly a better experience than any other mattress-buying experience we've had. So easy. We were really rushed as I had flown in from out of town and we'd been running around trying to get my wife's apartment together - she just came out here to CU for her grad program. We came by the store an hour before closing, and we were literally out and done in ten minutes, with no pressure, no problems, and no games. The next day the two super-friendly delivery guys showed up within the time window, got everything in and set up in ten minutes, and we were done. Shopped here a few times, for different things. Great advice; other shops also referred me here because they didn't have what I needed. Excited to find some local products - apparently people in CO like to sleep because so much matress and related stuff is made here in Colorado! I've talked to two employees here (father & son?), both were knowledgeable about their products and the concept of sleep. They seemed much more interested in making sure that you get something you're happy with than I found at other similar shops (not that any of the other places I visited were really bad). On top of having good products and service, they have a good location and hours. No experience with delivery, as I picked up all my stuff. Bottom line - I felt their shop was top notch and am much more happy to give them my $$$ than to the Mattress Czar super-chain. BTW, I just searched and there seem to be four shops in CO and one in Texas. Check it out, you can always leave if you are sticker shocked. read more

I initially got a mattress that was too firm and Eric was terrific about exchanging it for a different model. No extra cost to deliver to Nederland (twice!) and the guys were on time, quick and professional. I ran the mattress store gantlet doing research before buying, visiting 9-10 places. I found UMB was the most customer friendly of the group. After having back pain for a year, I finally bit the bullet and invested in my sleep quality with new mattress. Their product is more expensive but of much better quality and ultimately the 15 year no sag warranty sold me. After a month sleeping on it, I am extremely happy with this purchase and my buying experience. I will be buying from them again for our guest room. Damn this place knows their stuff. They brought out the actual materials, springs and foam that is used for each mattress that we tried out so we could learn about how it is made and what type of sleep it is best for. What we were most impressed with was the employee Alexa who, educated us on alignment and respectfully corrected us when we were starting towards a mattress that would eventually hurt my husband lower back. My wife and I tried several mattresses from both local and on-line stores, all to no avail. We visited Urban Mattress in Boulder and were immediately impressed with the light and airy space, wide selection of mattresses (and pillows!) and outstanding service. The staff is friendly and informative yet does not "hover", awaiting an immediate decision from a potential customer. They provide good information, useful suggestions and allow customers to take their time in choosing a mattress that is just right for them. We worked with Alexa in November to find a mattress for our master bedroom and have enjoyed great nights' sleep since the day it was delivered. We subsequently visited the Boulder store in February to look for a smaller mattress for our guest bedroom, while our son came along to look for a mattress of his own. Billy did a great job in guiding both us and our son to mattresses we love, despite different mattress preferences. We would also highly recommend the pillows, particularly the side-sleeper model. FANTASTIC! Don't buy a mattress anywhere else. Service is great and the mattress is amazingly comfortable. The salesperson was extremely patient as we tried out a TON of mattresses and then referred us to the owner for a recommendation when we were couldn't make up our minds. Once we explained our dilemma (differences in softness requirements) he actually recommended a much less expensive option than we were originally considering - and we're both very happy with it. Slight delay in delivery (hour or so) due to confusion with the address but they called immediately upon realizing the number had been written down incorrectly and followed up with me twice. I highly recommend this mattress store. Very knowledgeable staff - the owner has been working with mattresses for almost 40 years. They have incredible quality mattresses at a very reasonable price, and are not a chain store. 10 year warranty. I found the owner extremely trustworthy, I think the whole transaction took 15 minutes because I told him exactly what I wanted and the price range, and he took me to the exact bed that I needed. That kind of service requires a certain kind of knowledge, intuition, and artistry that can't be found in sales people that have been in the industry for five months and work on commission. What started out as a quick price check ended up being where we bought a great mattress. Actually, we purchased a split king each side with different firmness. There is simply no better place in Boulder, or maybe anywhere, to buy a bed! I have bought many beds over the years and in general the experiences have not been great. Usually it is like going and trying to buy a used car! Urban Mattress was a completely different and uniquely excellent experience. First of all its is a family run business and they take a personal interest in every customer. In my case they went way over and above the call of duty helping us. I went there in September 2013 and bought a bed, not an expensive one, but a good one. It was not a great fit and so I called in and they said no problem we can exchange it. Then the Boulder Floods hit and I was injured badly. I was evacuated from my home twice and broke both of my elbows. Needless to say there was a wide gap of time in communications. When we did speak, again no hesitation, no problem, they were willing to help! The problem I had at that moment was that two broken elbows and forced relocation is challenging, both logistically and financially. Huge medical bills. I went in and we discussed what I would need and they were incredibly helpful. I got a platform that moves up and down to help me get in an out of bed, and a great upgraded bed. They exchanged and delivered to the new house and were very prompt and helpful. Here is the amazing part; After 2 months the bed apparently had a manufacture's defect and when I called they responded immediately and without hesitation and got me a replacement! I can say no other Bed store would go this far to help a customer! I cannot say they will be able to do this kind of exchange process with everyone. They made exceptions for me as the Floods were really hard for us. What I can say is that I know for a fact these guys are committed to selling the best beds possible and also making sure their customers are happy. I am grateful and happy and recommend this store wholeheartedly! read more

I was referred to Urban Mattress by a friend and so happy about it! I shopped around at other big name mattress stores who all either were pushy hard sell types or just canned. At Urban Mattress I never felt pushed out of my financial comfort zone nor made to feel like a less important customer because I was buying a lower end mattress. I purchased the mattress on Tuesday and scheduled delivery for Saturday. I ended up being home from work sick on Thursday and called to see if they could deliver that day. Sure enough, they could and showed up 2.5 hours after my call. The delivery guys were nice, efficient and made sure to take their shoes off since it was wet outside. Top it off with what I feel is an amazing mattress for the price and I'm a very happy customer and will refer anyone and everyone I can. THE BEST SERVICE FOR ANY COMPANY EVER!!! Urban mattress defines good customer service. From the moment I entered the store to a few days after everything was already installed, this company showed the best of interpersonal relations, caring about customers, and quality products. When I first showed up, I was kind of nervous to buy a mattress, but the staff listened to my needs and showed me the various options that fit my needs. They helped me select the perfect bed... Unfortunately, they didn't have the frame (I ordered a King-size mattress) in stock, so they let me borrow a different frame for a week, which they delivered the next day. The delivery is free and fast. The staff called throughout the day to make sure their timing would work out. When the frame did come in and they came to set it up, they realized it was broken (not their fault, but the fault of the delivery from the factory) and put the original frame up again... A few days later, the new frame came in and they worked around my crazy work schedule to bring it at a convenient time for me. They called a few times in the afternoon and evening to keep me posted and make sure it still worked for me. The delivery guys were nice, competent, and hard working. This is by far one of the best and most convenient companies to work with. Prices are great and the products are quality. I love my bed and frame. Not to mention, during the crazy rain storms, the staff called again to make sure that I was happy with my bed. No other companies in Boulder were even open those days!!! Kudos! read more

Urband Mattress has earned a life long customer with me. My husband and I needed a new mattress and we walked into Urban Mattress after many months of shopping and online research. The guys at Urban Mattress were really knowledgable and not pushing. We didn't purchase after first visit but after shopping around for a couple of more weeks we went back to Urban to retry the mattress we thought we liked best. Again, the guys were all very helpful and after careful consideration we purchased our mattress. The story doesn't end there and this is what puts Urban Mattress above the rest, I loved the mattress we purchased at the showroom but I had a really hard time adjusting to it. We went back to Urban mattress and they helped me to trouble shoot the issues while assuring me that they would help me find the perfect mattress. They did not make me feel like a crazy customer, instead they seemed very concerned about me not being happy and they went above and beyond to help me find a solution which turned out to be my mattress pad. They even sent me home with a loaner to try before having me purchase it. After trying the new mattress pad I was in heaven, our new mattress is the best bed I have ever slept in. So much so it will make it difficult to travel as I will miss sleeping in my own amazing bad. We visited Urban mattress at least 4 times over the process of our purchase, every time we were greeted by great customer service and enthusiasm for their product.
