Love Urban Earth! They have amazing selection and great prices. I can't wait to continue buying plants for all my projects here.

I hired them to do some landscaping work (I assume that Urban Earth Nursery is the same as this one which appears to be a garden store?). The scope was plant removal and garden clean-up. They gave me three dates to complete the work about 3-4 weeks after we did the walk through. The first day they were to remove some small shrubs and grind the stumps. They ended up removing one shrub which was not to be moved and then not removing two others which I had indicated on the walk through. They did not grind the stump despite charging me $190 for stump grinding - it is still sticking out of the ground 3-4 inches. Then the next scheduled day they cancelled, then the next scheduled day they turned up but without the equipment needed to do the hedge trimming properly. i asked them to "be aggressive" with the hedge and when I got home it was like it had not been touched. My husband likened their approach to "using nail clippers to cut the hedge leaf by leaf". They tried to reschedule to come another day with a ladder (like why not bring the ladder first time). I asked them not to return. They seem knowledgable about plants and might be ok for light work like precision pruning and weeding but dont appear able to do the heavy garden work I was looking for. Very disappointing. I have reached out to get a refund for the $190 stump grinding. read more

Wish I could give 10 stars!! We had a fiasco of a repotting at home and came in for help. Kristen and Serena (hope I got the names and spellings right) were so helpful and spent 45 min helping us / achieving something we could have never done on our own lol. now we are all set with a new pot and saucer and a good laugh read more

Complete enchantment as soon as you walk in. Plants are aligned up and down along the walkway. Even has outdoor decor and lighting (bulbs) that make the nursery a calming and relaxed environment. Staff was pleasant and informative. Cozy indoor space that label plants in order of care responsibility. read more

Urban Earth is my heaven on Earth. Well, more accurately my heaven in Fremont. I love love love this little nursery so much!! I know plants and being a "plant mom" are super trendy these days, but urban earth completely separates themselves from all that noise and truly is a lowkey, underrated neighborhood nursery. Whenever I come here I feel like I'm transported into an English garden!! Even though I come here strictly for indoor plants, I take the time to walk through the outdoor garden each time I visit because it's so beautiful and lush. I've gotten five plants here so far, and all but one (my fault) are thriving!! The prices are pretty good here, much lower than another trendy nursery in Fremont that I checked out, and the workers at this nursery are SO sweet and helpful. I've even seen through other reviews here that they offer a few community classes! Will definitely keep my eye out for a propagation class in the future. As a bonus, they have a shop cat named Phoebe and she is the sweetest thing! You can often find her in her bed by the register or sunbathing in the garden :-) read more

My fiancé planned a little Fremont plant shop tour for me this past weekend to satiate my house plant addiction and Urban Earth was our first stop. As we pulled up I was so excited to see that it looked like a garden fairyland! I was there for the indoor plants, so I headed right inside. I had my heart set on a alocasia polly plant, and a polka dot begonia. And I found a baby polly plant here with new growth that I ended up taking home. The gal at the shop gave me a discount because one of the polly's leaves had some brown marks from lack of sun. My guy and I also found two colorful plants I hadn't seen at other plant shops that we also snagged. We also found a new, badass watering can, gardening rocks, neem oil, and more. I was in paradise. Pricing-wise I found most smaller plants to be quite reasonable. The larger, trendier plants were a little pricier--but no more than other plant shops in the area. I also brought in my struggling dieffenbachia and the gal at the shop was able to diagnose it right away with spider mites. She helped set me up with some neem oil and instructions for helping it get better. Speaking of service, the staff here were very knowledgeable and once asked, very happy to share any helpful info. I really appreciated how patient they were with me. They were also able to put me on a list for a plant I really wanted, so that's cool too. I'll definitely be back! read more

This place is amazing. It's small but they have so many plants. My favorite part is they sort sections by how much coverage the plants needs. Big shoutout to Raelynn (sorry if I spelled wrong) who was a BIG help. I basically showed what I had to plant and let them pick everything and it looks gorgeous. I really enjoyed visiting this place! There's an adorable inside and outside area, but the place itself just looks like a little home/cottage. The inside shop had indoor plants and succulents. Small selection but all very well priced and such a quaint little adorable shop! The lady working the store was really nice and friendly. She was knowledgeable with my random plant questions. Also they sell cactus soil in the back, at $0.50 a scoop, it's perfect for my uses- needed to repot a few plants. This same amount of dirt would cost 2-3$ at other plant shops so I really appreciated their affordability. Will be back!:) read more

Something happened. It's like my birthday came and went and all of a sudden my desire for houseplant babies came to life. I discovered urban earth a few weekends ago when I decided to dedicate a whole Saturday driving around various nurseries. I went to three. Kristin the owner, was the only one who greeted me and made me feel welcome. I love giving my business to awesome small business owners so you can bet I bought my first four plants there. She was so welcoming and accommodating, teaching us what to do and not to do. I have a history of being a plant killer. Haha. She invited us to attend her free workshop "houseplants 101" the following weekend. So yeahhhhh we went! I feel like a grown up equipped with knowledge now. And guess what, I bought 4 more plants because we got a coupon for attending! Their prices are actually cheaper than the indoor sun shoppe and that clothes boutique place. Oh and major major plus. I know it's weird but I love plants but hate bugs. At the workshop I learned if the dirt had bugs in it, that is usually a sign of overwatering. Of all my 8 adopted plant babies, none of them have a single bug in the potting mix. I'm so soooooo happy. I learned how to transplant plants and Kristin told me to email her if I had any questions. I love this place so much I'm setting an extra budget for it. Parking can be tough depending on when you go, but street parking is free. read more

This is a beautiful little plant store and nursery with really kind employees (and a shop cat named phoebe who is adorable and friendly!). We stopped by and I found a number of indoor and outdoor plants that I would love to own, I just don't currently have the space and am looking for a much larger plant. Cute neighborhood nursery with a great selection of both indoor and outdoor plants. Susan is wonderful to work with. She obviously knows her stuff, but what I really appreciate is her ability to help you find that perfect something even if you're not exactly sure what you want. The quality is also fantastic. There's definitely a difference compared to the big box stores! Last year, I bought two outdoor plants at Home Depot and shortly after, a third one from Urban Earth. The Home Depot plants have long since died and my UE plant still has amazing color and is growing beautifully. Oh, and check out during the holidays. Really nice seasonal options. read more

Susan is super duper helpful! I just moved here, and live about 2.5 miles from the store. I decided to get some exercise and walk over there. I got there with a list of house plants and herbs that I was looking for, and she had all of them. (Basil, parsley, chives, lavender, a croton, and jasmine) She showed me some cute and really inexpensive pots made of corn husks (thus biodegradable). They were very light, so wouldn't be a hindrance on the walk home. She told me how often to water them and how much light they needed, and told me to come back when I didn't have so much stuff to carry to get some soil! I highly recommend Urban Earth read more

She listened then helped explain what plants would fit our criteria and even helped pick them out and develop a plan for the planting. Tucked into Fremont practically in the shadow of the Aurora Bridge, Seasons Nursery and Gifts is definitely a local business. They have some wonderful plants out on display in their long, skinny outdoor garden, as well as many seeds and tools (and some typical 'garden shop curios') in the main shop. They specialize in locally-produced garden pottery decorations, as well as unusual (dwarf, drought-tolerant and so on) plants. My mother and my aunt are both avid gardeners, and very much love not only browsing the store but chatting with the owner; she's a source of cheerful information and advice as well as plants. They're also dog-friendly; I don't really garden right now, not having the space for it, but my corgi Claire is a frequent visitor to Seasons. She loves to sit outside the shop door and smell all the plants. (Admittedly, her fondness for the shop may also be in part that she knows that the owner keeps doggy treats behind the counter!) The only real downside to this wonderful little nursery is that they're, well, very little. Their selection is very good for the size, but you may nonetheless find yourself having to seek other places if you're looking for something they don't have. But if you're out for a walk in the Fremont area, it's worth stopping in... especially in the spring and summer, when the little yard can turn quite amazing. read more

If you love plants and need a little help making up your mind - you should meet Susan in her Urban Earth; you won't be disappointed!! I showed Susan pictures of my garden and shared with her what I like and what I am interested in...etc. Susan was able to suggest a few great options and explained to me in detail why she suggested each of them. The best part was that Susan can visualize how the plants going to look like in years... She will explain to you if the colors, shapes of the leaves, sizes, and textures can all work together in the future. I learned a lot from Susan just from one visit. She was incredibly knowledgeable and patient; I don't feel bad asking all kinds of questions. The price of the plants are very reasonable. It is WAY CHEAPER than other famous nurseries. The lip gloss by the cashier is AMAZING! I will get several more for coming winter! read more

This is my go-to place for anything gardening related. The prices are excellent, there is a unique selection that is hard to find elsewhere, and most importantly, the staff is incredible. I pass by two other plant shops on my way here because it is worth the extra drive time. Today, I came in with a difficult return situation and the ladies exceeded my expectation with the resolution they provided. I will continue coming here for years to come. I really loved this place. My wife and I were there for indoor plants. It is a small area, but I like how they organize it by where it generally should be in your home. Light demanding plants by the windows etc. I feel like it is packed full with a beautiful selection. I wish there were more pots, but it's understandable. Definitely check your plants thoroughly before you buy anything. I bought two plants from here and one of them (a marble pothos) popped up with a couple mealybugs a week after I brought them home. None of my current houseplants are unhealthy/have pests so I'm pretty sure it was the new pothos... That aside, prices are okay, selection is pretty good- mostly for outdoor plants but they have a decent indoor selection as well. Service is friendly! read more
