Solar System Installed in 2015 at Skyway Tool Center in Chico.
    Sherry G.

We hired Urban Design Solar to put a large solar system on our building in Chico, California, Skyway Tool Center. We have good sun exposure and had been paying enormous electric bills for years - from $800 to $1600 per month - until we had the solar system installed in 2015. We took bids from quite a few solar installation companies in the Chico area, but after studying it we decided to go with Urban Design Solar. They came out immediately and put up the system quickly and efficiently. They made no mistakes in the entire install and put up a system that we LOVE. Our PG&E bill went from $1600 a month in the summer to about $200 a month, and even less in the winter. We figure we earned back the money we spent on this solar system in the four years since we had it put in. The owner and employees at Urban Design Solar are friendly, professional, and hard working. I highly recommend.

Our summertime energy Bill's mill be much lower now. Thanks Urban Design for the great system!

I had a belly laugh when I read the " sugar coated reviews re Pride electric…read more They were perpetually late, unprofessional insulting arrogant prima Donna's and impolite/rude! Back in July I had them route power up to my shop which was 1/2 conducted already and install a Generac generator to my home (which was off the grid ) with wiring and the rest of the conduit!. Owner claimed to be Generac certified but Generac / Sol arc stated he wasn't registered as certified to their company' as a technician I'm wondering what kind of business delivers a " supposedly new 22 kw Generac generator with dents in all four points of it's lid without even an apology or an attempt to " make restitution. Owner had an oral fixation ( smoked around home leaving his cigarette butts which he failed to pick up Technician he hired had 2 personalities and badmouthed his owner to me 1-1 but when the owner showed up he kissed the owners butt and pulled a 180 and said negative insulting innuendos about me causing me of not listening ( I specifically stated that I experienced hearing loss due to a bad inner ear infection as a child and tried to understand their hi falutent electrical jargon ) as I attempted to physically feed wire and help out where I could to expedite the Instalation process. I even supplied a 26 S series battery which the tobacco chewing technician hastily put in before checking the battery tray to see if there was sand debris which was present . The owner was suppose to help me obtain a surety bond from the prior electrician service who did not install the sol arc system 100 % correctly but he went " cold turkey" claiming I got a great deal on the install and because of that he felt ripped off and therefore wanted no more contact. If the iowner underbid the project this was his fault and he is responsible and should not place the blame on his customers! The owner kept finding lil problems with my sol arc system ( 1 due to his own misdiagnosis). He stated my panels were only putting out 30 % which he stated had to do with the panels or the inverters but he failed to take into acct that I was off grid and 100% panel output was therefore not indicated nor required with the 6 batteries I was using and what I required to power so the inverters may have been retuned for this purpose . I am grateful for what was performed however no customer should have to undergo the abuse which was liken to " Rawhide meets Mr Rogers"!!!' Still trying to get rid of the funny taste in my mouth.

We have a complete solar system including battery backup sold and installed by Westhaven Power…read more My wife and I had been looking for Solar for over two years. We had various companies come to our home for presentations and quotes. We finally settled on Westhaven Power. We liked the fact that they had been in business for a long time and they oversaw the project from start to finish. Our system is working great. We have experienced four blackouts by PG&E, which didn't affect us since we have the battery backup. A company is only as good as it's staff. We had excellent people from Westhaven working on our project. I want to give kudos to all the people we interacted with: We had John who was our salesperson he was always there day and night to answer our questions and take care of problems. The team leader for installation was Jerry. He and his team did a great job. The final inspector was Jason. All are great representatives for Westhaven. I also want to give special Kudos to Grace who works in administration. She notified us at different points in the installation to let us know when things were going to be done. She was also our contact for warranty work.

Just had a cold call from a guy that speaks very litle english wanting to set up a service call…read morethat I tried over a year ago and wanted $450.00 to show up and then another $450.00 to do anything. Talk about a total ripe off. NEVER BUY FROM THESE GUYS. Oh Forgot to mention this is the same company that did not do what they were told to do then started a fire on the site because they installed it wrong the first time. Only had 2 guys that seemed to have a clue of what they were doing but thier hands are tied. I hope they find a good company to work for because this one is not them.
