We have a complete solar system including battery backup sold and installed by Westhaven Power. My wife and I had been looking for Solar for over two years. We had various companies come to our home for presentations and quotes. We finally settled on Westhaven Power. We liked the fact that they had been in business for a long time and they oversaw the project from start to finish. Our system is working great. We have experienced four blackouts by PG&E, which didn't affect us since we have the battery backup. A company is only as good as it's staff. We had excellent people from Westhaven working on our project. I want to give kudos to all the people we interacted with: We had John who was our salesperson he was always there day and night to answer our questions and take care of problems. The team leader for installation was Jerry. He and his team did a great job. The final inspector was Jason. All are great representatives for Westhaven. I also want to give special Kudos to Grace who works in administration. She notified us at different points in the installation to let us know when things were going to be done. Just had a cold call from a guy that speaks very litle english wanting to set up a service call that I tried over a year ago and wanted $450.00 to show up and then another $450.00 to do anything. Talk about a total ripe off. NEVER BUY FROM THESE GUYS. Oh Forgot to mention this is the same company that did not do what they were told to do then started a fire on the site because they installed it wrong the first time. Threatened to take to me to collections before the bill was due. I never told them I wasn't going to pay for it, I asked for an itemized bill. They will claim they attempted to contact me, but they never did after I was forced to pay their bill that wasn't properly itemized. No follow up after paying 7k for no installation but a cancellation fee. I sent an email and left a voicemail with Karen and to this day no one has follow up with my bill itemization. Side note they wanted to send me to collections when I was on a military TDY, they also charge late fees if you're off by one day. So on top of late fees that are over 100s, they will send you to collections. Oh and they did get their 7k for a no install solar, so whatever the business replies they got their money long before the threat to collections should have been used. read more

Westhaven installed a new roof and solar system on my home in 2019. During the sales process, I was given a timeline indicating installation would begin within a few weeks. In reality, the project was delayed several months, and updates were limited unless I followed up directly. During installation, rolled roofing was installed on part of the home where asphalt shingles had been specified in the signed contract. I was not consulted before that material substitution occurred. The issue was eventually corrected, but only after persistent communication on my part. In 2025, during escrow for the sale of the property, a roof inspection identified flashing and vent-related concerns that appeared to fall under the workmanship warranty. I contacted Westhaven to request evaluation and repair. Over the course of several weeks, I was repeatedly told I would receive responses "by end of day" or "the next morning," but follow-up often did not occur without extensive additional prompting. Because this was during an active home sale, the lack of consistent written communication made an already time-sensitive process more stressful than it needed to be. Westhaven ultimately sent a representative to evaluate the roof, and I did not incur repair costs or seek reimbursement. My concern is not financial.....it is the repeated pattern of delayed communication during both the original installation and later warranty handling. Took forever to install, then I couldn't connect to the Trsla battery for months until I finally realized they had my email address spelled incorrectly. However, during that time that I was supposedly "connected" and saw the same rates as before. The configuration is not correct for my home, even though the sales guy supposedly figured out what I would need from my electric bills. I had mentioned that eventually I would like to add a washer & dryer and maybe a mini split. He said that there would be more than enough energy for that. There is not. I am now paying $200/mo for their solar and nearly the same amount as I was previously for pg&e. Westhaven tells me to call Tesla. Tesla tells me to call Westhaven. I have a disabled partner and was hoping this solar plan would help us as he needs an air mattress that is electronically regulated. Our power went out and we lost all connection even with the Tesla battery. If you want solar, go with Sun Run. My friend has that and they are very responsive and helpful. read more

Do not do business with this company!! At any cost save yourself! They are liars and will say anything to get a sale. There is NO warranty no matter what they say. They charge $200 an hour to even look at your system after it breaks weeks after install. I own 3 houses all with solar installed by west haven. Every system has issues and they will not warranty anything. They tell you to reach out to the manufacturer who then tells you to reach out to your installer for warranty. Let me tell you about a VERY unprofessional confrontation I just had with westhaven solar on my property. I'd told the sales person that I wanted to be off grid and have nothing to do with Tesla. When their people came to the property they thoughtfully brought two meals, one for me and one for my son. However, when they got their closer, Trever, on the phone and he said we could not be off grid with their system, I told them thank you for coming out but we won't be interested in doing business with them. The husband in the partnership flew off the handle and demanded the food back. My son had already eaten one of the meals. Then claimed that *I* was being emotional and not acting like a veteran of the USA! I found that funny seeing as he was the one acting butt hurt that I wasn't interested and demanding his food back. He told me that I wasted THEIR time and gas. I had been very clear from the start what I wanted. They wasted MY time by trying to sell me a solar system for 88k that won't get me off the grid. I told him to take the food and get the fuck off my property. My security cameras caught all the audio. I'm a woman disabled army veteran living in the country with NO NEIGHBORS for miles! This man was VERY confrontational, rude, and frightening. Had solar installed and then a new pool pump months later. As soon as the pump was installed I lost power to a room and pump wouldn't start. Pool guy left and I contacted WH. I would have had an emergency call that day so I waited and in meantime found another electrician to come. Biggest mistake ever! He told me I need an entire new electrical system to replace my circuit panels and left with still no power. Fast forward to today - William with WH sent Jason out to me to take a look! In less than an hour he identified the issues (there were a few but it was all pump wire related AND got my pump working! Thank you JASON- you were kind and thorough and got the job done right! And WH has stayed in contact with me keeping me up to date on my solar installed steps! Great job by all and local to boot! read more

A word of warning about Westhaven Power. Their contract is front end loaded, so you pay a sizeable sum of money when the equipment for your project is in their warehouse and not on your site (who knows). Secondly you pay a sizeable sum of money when the equipment is installed, but is not working, as in my case. Thirdly, the remainder of the money, which is a pittance, is due after inspection by the building dept, which is of little priory of Westhaven to complete as new installations takes priority. If entering into a contract, change wording to, equipment on site before first installment, installed equipment working and operating before second installment. On a good note, the installers were professional and did and excellent job (except leaving before system was operable). read more

I have my system for 3 years and my circuit board has failed, and I didn't know for 2 months. I thought they were monitoring my system for me. This promotion that was told to me when installed stopped without my knowledge. So, my panels are not working!! They sent me a new circuit board and want to charge $200 an hour for the instillation. I played no role in this stopping they have no explanation to why it stopped after only 3 years or cause of why it stopped. If they think I'm going to just pay $200 every few years to fix something they are crazy! My mom and dad were in the works of going thought them and I'm so glad they are not now. $47,000 for solar to have a horrible sales team take advantage of its costumers. read more

We had solar panels installed in September and were initially happy with the installation service. Since then, we have not seen the savings on our PG&E bill as promised. We have called numerous times, for someone to come check our system, to no avail. They have promised to call or check it out too many times to count, but we still have the problems. WATCH OUT! Awful! Installed solar panels on my roof without the correct inspections or permits! When I complained to them, they gave me a quote of $16,500 to remove and reinstall the panels after I get the roof replaced, which is twice the amount quoted from other solar companies. I now may have significant roof damage, and cannot get a roof replacement until I get it resolved. They are not working with me to rectify the situation! So disappointed regarding this business. The system goes down bimonthly. While still under warranty, they want to charge $400 to $600 to repair. We lost money from the system being down. Most of the time thebsystem resets itself. I would rate them 0 if I could. First, this company has a VIOLATION LOGGED WITH THE STATE. Look them up at the Department of Consumer Affairs Contractors State License Board. Their license number is 965111, complaint number: N A 2023 13793, Dated: 1/29/2025. I was working with sales guy Adam. He comes across as knowledgeable and helpful at first, but don't be fooled. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing. He is super pushy and dishonest. When I asked him about the violation he sent me a screen shot of 5 star consumer ratings and tried to deflect from the violation. He also tried to upsell me so we would buy way more than needed. He uses a lot of scare tactics to try to push you into buying, claiming that he is doing it for you. He also says they are the only solar company that takes care of everything for the solar install. I found out that there are a lot of other solar companies that take care of everything for the install. In order to get an inspection he told me I would need to sign paperwork and led me to believe it was just for the free inspection. He downplayed it and made it seem like a technicality. I thought that was reasonable. He sent it to my email and it was 15 pages altogether but the contract was 5 pages long! When I got to the page that required me to sign saying that if I sued I could only go through arbitration, I realized this wasn't just for an inspection, this was the actual contract for purchasing through them. I was angry that Adam led me to believe otherwise. When he called me to know why I wouldn't sign I told him it was because it was an actual contract. He tried to justify his lie saying it would protect them and me (blah blah blah) and when I brought up the page about the forced arbitration, he did finally admit it was a contract (probably because he couldn't BS his way around that like he did a few other things). I was annoyed with the tone he took with me. Like threatening and that I was going to be sorry because they are the best. BUYER BEWARE!! There are other really good solar companies out there. I would rather not have solar than to have a shady solar company. If you do decide to go with them, READ THE CONTRACT disguised as not a contract, and research everything they say. read more

Our experience with Westhaven Power *** Seven page letter sent to owner with details that will not fit in this review. CONSUMER BEWARE!!! Contract signed 7/17/2023 Why we wanted solar was to be free from PG&E as much as possible with solar power. Why we chose Westhaven Power - We were gullible to their promises and sales pitch. What we can say to anyone considering this company for their solar need or desire... Question everything and research everything they promise before signing anything! Given six to eight week completion... August 3, 2023, Powerwall installed. Permission to export did not happen until December 14, 2024, due to Westhaven Power lack of completion and follow through. The installers we had were phenomenal. I wish I could name all of them. Our interaction with them was minimal. They were respectful of our property, making sure all items were picked up, disposed of and removed. They were awesome! Scheduling: Consideration of the homeowner schedule is ignored. Being given start times and then installers showing up 8 hours earlier than scheduled. Westhaven Power likes to communicate via text instead of having a professional understanding of real conversations and how important they are. Project coordinators are outsourced to another country and although they are available to speak with texting seems to be their preference. Multiple requests must be made for assistance or help understanding of processes or problems that were initiated by the "team" of this company. Not one resolution has been made. In those five months Westhaven Power has proven to lack the ability to provide adequate customer service and communication. They are not able to give support in areas they claim, and they have shown follow-through and fluidity is not a strong aspect of their business model. Westhaven Power has been a nightmare for us. I signed a contract in February and it's now June and our solar panels still aren't up and running. I've had issue after issue with them since I signed the contract. One of their workers damaged our ceiling and they promised to fix it and look at the repairs they did. They told us to hire a contractor and they'd reimburse us. Now they won't send us the check. I definitely wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. My family is still struggling with Westhaven Power, and I'd like to spare other people the headache. Their communication is awful, It's been a nightmare. I've had to take time off work multiple times and they still don't show up. It's also concerning that they don't even call to tell me they're not coming. I have a picture of a text message from them canceling my appointment without contacting me first. I definitely wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. I've been working with the account manager, but after a few weeks of helpfulness, he stopped being as helpful. I have a Westhaven system installed on my home. Everyone that has seen it compliments how clean the installation is. It looks like the home was built with it. Best part is that it just plain works. I've had zero issues. It provides all the electricity I use through the year. I have zero true up bill and pay $10/month for power. The sales team makes everything very clear. As a result of refusing signing Kamps' dinosaur fuel contract after closing escrow 7/17/2017, slowly, my home has been completely converted using Westhaven's solar energy as of beginning installation of a new SOLAR HVAC SYSTEM as of October 22, 2018 to November 7, 2018, i.e., 24-solar Panasonic 330-Watt panels, solar HVAC, solar heat pump, and solar hot H2O heater; true, converting my home using solar was costly upfront but since the energy conversion, I have ZERO energy usage bills, i.e., totally off-grid, heating/cooling energy system for my home! I hope all humans will be a brave digging deeper into their wallets as I have made the courageous, bold decision being a green, zero-footprint home so, ALL will cease being an indentured benefactor to Kamps Propane and especially, Pigs, Goats, And Elephants, i.e., P, G, & E! BTW: I estimate I'll have the solar conversion paid in at least, two years due to avoiding paying monthly heating and cooling expenditures. Be brave, courageous: Projected, I guesstimate dinosaur fuel usage will be eventually eliminated by 2022! Had my roof replaced and solar added. The roof went off mostly without a hitch, but the solar drug out for nearly 9 months. Multiple times they would make appointments and then cancel them at the last minute - once because they must not own calendars and scheduled work on Memorial Day. Every time they cancelled appointments, the new one was WEEKS out. The workers seemed generally knowledgeable, but the project managers couldnt have been worse. Don't believe the time frames the sales guys and managers will give you. Once they have a contract signed, you aren't important - they'll prioritize starting new jobs over the ones they have in process. The system is up and working - I sure hope it stays that way because I dread having to deal with them again. read more

Yes Westhaven didnt repair the inverters the first time - because Westhaven had already stopped supporting the Sunpower equipment they sold. And when it continued to fail the OEM forced me to go back to them as the installer, which dragged on for months again leading to further wasted investment. And this was hardly the only failure to support the customer, but I do appreciate taking the time to reply here (more communication than given as a customer). read more

We had the installation done this week of two Tesla batteries. We used Westhaven because they seemed to have good reviews and their pricing was reasonable. We understood going into this that cheaper doesn't mean better and for an investment of this magnitude we wanted it done right. The team has done a terrific job of working with us and being super responsive. From our first inquiry to the installation they've been connecting with us and communicating at every step. Olivia our coordinator is so helpful and patient with us. (I have questions all of the time.) the installation team led by Bud was so professional - they worked efficiently, cleaned up beautifully and everything thus far seems to be working perfectly. The front line staff answering calls (Sean and Lou are two names I know) are like all others East to work with and they always have a helpful positive attitude. Karen in billing (I hope that's the right name) was also super friendly and made payment easy. All documents and info was promptly emailed and communicated. Overall a 100% excellent experience and now we are all set if the power is out for any length of time. We had solar already but now we're able to be self sufficient and it added a lot of value to the house should we ever decide to sell. Thanks Westhaven. read more

Not always completely informative and does not get the work done in a timely manner. I have been waiting weeks to get it done now they didn't pass the solar inspection so I have to wait again. They do not communicate well. They were suppose to be here at 1:00pm it is now 2:00 no one is here, I called at 1:15 spoke to Cameron said he would call them to see when they will be here, 45 min later no call back so I called again and Olivia said she would try to find and call me back!! So ridiculous. If I could I would have them take it all back. My neighbor got solar 3wks after me and is up and running. I just found out that the old Wi-Fi 3G will no longer work and now they want to charge $800 to put in 4G. This is ridiculous. This was never discussed when signing a contract dissipate should be their responsibility always and not be a charge to someone , they already cheated me out of my rebates not telling me as a senior I'm not getting those rebates because I don't make enough so I'm having to pay $30,000 and now they want to charge me 800 for a new Wi-Fi. If I had my way, they could come take it. That's off my roof !! this is the worst company I have ever dealt with cheaters and liars. read more

These folks literally sit around in different neighborhoods and solicit for solar. Maybe I'm crazy but it's 2022, no one wants people knocking on their doors at 7pm. Also, they do not take no for an answer until you're rude. I feel bad but they simply don't take the hint! I'm giving them (3) stars because I know door to door sales is a hard job and I know some folks who were happy with their solar but their whole approach is predatory and weird. Here's my issue. Up until we found out the sales guy Adam absolutely lied to our face, I thought things went great and recommended them to friends and coworkers. We just got solar last year - Adam Dockery was our solar guy for both us and our neighbor. He promised us that the perk for 2021 was that we would get a check back for $9,000 after our taxes are filed in 2022. We can decide to keep that check and our bill would increase from 95.00/month to $120.00. Or if we signed the check over to west haven it would stay at the $95. They also told this to our two neighbors who did solar at the same time. He also promised us a referral fee for each person we referred. I recently found out that the $9k check is absolutely bogus and the "perk" is a 26% write off of the amount you spent on solar. That isn't even close to 9k!!! Adam acted like a good guy when in reality he turned out to be a typical salesman who will say whatever gets the sale. We have since spoken with several other companies and found out he totally conned us. I've left messages for management and haven't received a response on this issue. Update: My charge was removed and issue was taken care of after business team reached out to me thank you, so I changed it from one star to 4 Invoice for charge less than a year old solar panels. We've had Solar (27 panels purchased not leased) less than a year and inverter went out and Solar completely stopped working. We were paying PG&E bill for couple of months in hot summer days luckily my husband checks his Solar app regularly so we found out quickly but westhaven said part will take 45 days and they will charge labor cost $200 per hour only the inverter is cover under warranty not the labor and told us it was in the contract. We didn't read the whole contract but now we're stuck with the bill. The technician said it's common for that type or brand of inverter to go out and it's been happening lately. It makes me wonder how long this inverter would last if the first one went out within months of install. They shouldn't have charged since they it's a known issue for those inverters and being under a year. I do not recommend Westhaven, I should've gone with Sunrun like my neighbors they're happy with theirs same panels. Westhaven was little cheaper that's why we went with them but it would've been worth spending little more. read more

These guys are high price hacks. Their only saving grace is the way they talk to customers. They are very polite , however they have no idea what they are doing. The process took 12 weeks, which was supposed to be 6-8, mostly because of mistakes made by various staff members. Wrong parts ordered, specifics not communicated, etc. They were supposed to upgrade our main panel and put the wrong one in which caused a 2 week delay and a jimmy rigged system. They also don't know how to properly waterproof the panel which my husband had to fix himself. Secondly, we were having insulation replacement and offered them time to run conduit under the house while there was room for their techs. Despite giving them several weeks of notice, they couldn't get a tech out and so when they went under the house finally to run it, they damaged our HVAC ducting and have still not honored their promise to pay for it. Their equipment damaged our landscaping and while they did do some work in attempt to repair it, it still is a mess. They pulled up pavers to dig a trench and left a huge mess by not replacing them and leaving a muddy mess. Granted, it was raining while they brought in the tractor, but they left ruts all over the lawn and property. The concrete they poured for our ground mount footings is sloppy. 8 weeks after the project has been complete and we still don't have the Amazon gift card that was promised as a part of the deal. Not a huge deal, but just goes to show that they don't live up to their promises. Very Disappointing. read more

They didn't have any issues with installing solar panels on my tile roof. I do not want a new tile roof. Yes I want a new roof. Just not tile. Very disappointed with Westhaven. TLDR- RUN AWAY! We contracted with Westhaven in fall of 2019 for a 6.6kw solar arrayat our home in Bayside. Our sales rep, Tim, was great. The system works as it should now that it is installed. We've lived with it for about a year, and have had no issues. Those are the ONLY good things I can say about this firm. Communication was HORRIBLE from the start. Long gaps in communication, followed by updates with delays. Granted, demand was high given the PSPS outages, but a simple "heads up" is not hard. Installation could not have been more of a Keystone cops affair. They sent their "best" crew to do the work, from the main office. The three gentleman who arrived were very interested in where they could get marijuana clones here in humboldt, but far less interested in getting the details of the install correct. When they were "done" I went on the roof and could clearly see that the panels WERE NOT EVEN ATTACHED to the roof, let alone flat/level etc. That is just the start. Conduit runs stretched to their absolute limit with no flex, sitting right on top of obvious crawl space access and paneling. So, after these issues are corrected, the inspector comes out. Amongst other failure reasons, the solar hardware is too close to the gas riser, so it HAS to go on the front of my home, where I do not want it. That means I now have a hole in one side of my house where the conduit exited, and a bunch of hardware on the front of my house where it looks ugly as hell. His reply "Oh, sorry, bye." While it has been a year, I believe my details above to be accurate and correct. Yes, Covid made things harder (install was right at the front end of things), but that does not excuse the horrible experiences we had across the project, be it from the main office, the local office, or the install crew. Again, Tim, our sales rep, was good. The system is working well. So, they get 1 star for not being a total failure. First off they lie about the tax rebate. No you don't get the 30% of the cost on solar when you do your taxes. Their sales reps are misinformed or flat-out lie to you. We just did our taxes. Westhaven canvassers came through our neighborhood in Vacaville and were very friendly. I scheduled a consultation appointment and met with Kelly Hayes in January of 2021. He was very understanding when I told him that we had just started our solar power process and wanted to do a little more research and obtain other quotes before choosing a company. Throughout the next few months when I spoke with other companies and had questions, Kelly was always available to offer his expertise and experience without adding any extra sales pressure. This was greatly appreciated and when it came down to making a decision Westhaven had one of the most competitive prices and financing rates which, along with Kelly's professionalism, led us to choosing them. The turnaround time for installation was unbelievably quick, only a few days after signing the paperwork in April 2021. The installation crew was very nice but throughout this part of the process we kept getting misinformation about when we'd actually be able to start having solar power due to the retroactive city permit and PG&E inspection. We were told 3-4 weeks by Kelly and 1 week by the installation crew. We ended up waiting about 6 weeks before we were up and running and were sent weekly marketing emails from Westhaven while waiting even though we already had solar panels installed. Aside from that our overall experience was very positive and our system has been running smoothly. We are very happy with the "bumper to bumper" warranty and would certainly recommend Westhaven to anyone looking to covert to solar power. We went with Westhaven for Solar and we had nothing but issues. First off the people they hired to do tear down our roof didn't show up the day they were supposed to and left a huge trailer in front of my house for a week. They the roof didn't pass inspection. After we got a lien on our property because Westhaven didn't pay the roofing and supply company. They have been hard to reach. We have gotten several letters about the lean and Westhaven keeps saying a check went out but never did. It's been a mess. Before going with solar do your research. This company is awful. read more

I had a guy come to my door on 9-16-2020 in Arboga, CA and After we talked I made an 2:00 PM appointment for 9-17-2020 later that afternoon a guy called me asked questions and got my PG&E account information and reconfirmed the time for appointment on Wednesday at 2:00 PM. On 9-17-2020 at 2:00 PM no body showed up or bothered to call me all afternoon wasting my time truly an unprofessional Organization as demonstrated by this action. I later talked to others who had system installed and found out they ere not too happy and wished they had used other providers than westhavens overseas junk. I had a battery backup installed for our solar in early 2021. The system in June 2022. I called for repair service at that time. They wasted a week having me try some Youtube video restart sequences and some remote access by the parts manufacturer. The system was dead, there was no internet signal. My Tesla app was dead. SoSo, I scheduled service. The soonest appointment was the end of August, August 29th. I'll spare the emotion of a two month wait. I'm on a ventilator at night, my wife called to tell them this and to hurry with the appt. They told "Her if the power goes down to go to a Hotel." The techs are arriving this morning to repair their equipment. I must to pay $600 for the privilege of having the 2 month wait and to pay for their broken equipment. Very, very , very bad experience going down the solar road. The reason it took so long. Installations took priority and money in the only issue.
