Just had Daniel and James from RB Spencer complete install at my place of work and they were true professionals. Good job guys

They installed a faulty HVAC unit and it hasn't worked. Every summer it breaks. They refuse to service it anymore under the warranty because they don't know how to fix it. Their technician messed w settings trying to fix it last summer and burned up our furnace, leaving us w no heat or air. I contacted the state licensing board and was informed that THEY DO NOT HAVE A CONTRACTOR LICENSE. read more

From the first phone call, the customer service was A+! Cyrus was the technician who wants installed our new Thermostat and he was great! Very knowledgeable about his job and you can tell he really enjoys his job! Highly recommend! read more

Today the scheduled winter maintenance was performed on my AC/Heater unit. The service was performed by Cyrus. He did an excellent job performing the maintenance and corrected a few things he noticed that weren't necessarily part of the normal maintenance. Cyrus was quick, professional and took the time to explain what work he performed. He also went over the pictures he took so that I was completely informed and had more knowledge of how my system operates. I will definitely be requesting Cyrus as my technician any time I contact them. Thanks Cyrus and RB Spencer!! Debbie read more

wouldn't go anywhere else, they installed a new system 11 years ago, and have service the unit for the past 11 years, the techs are great, local, honest....rates for service is reasonable, repairs reasonable read more

Brent came to check our air conditioner. He was very thorough checking out why it wasn't getting colder. He was very professional, friendly and knew what he was doing. Five stars for Brent. read more

Had my furnace serviced today. technician Cyrus Sayles showed up on time . He was a complete professional, he was honest and forth coming. He did not try to sell me anything i did not need. He gave me a full report and made needed adjustments. i wish he would teach a class on customer service to all the service companies we depend on. Because that is how its done. read more

Excellent company! Excellent workers! Cyrus showed up even though it was a weekend and fixed my A/C and fast! I will definitely be referring them to everyone i know/ work with. I wish i could give them 10 stars! read more

Customers beware! I called one of their HVAC technician on April 12th. Clerical told me it will be $90 just to come out. Good price no lie, technician came out supposedly did a check up on my system when our system was blowing cool air not cold, technician said it was due to wiring problem gave us a expensive quote, he also supposedly checked the gages to see if a recharge was needed but said it was still fine NOT a refrigerant issue. Ok? No thanks, I'm pretty sure thats incorrect. I called for new HVAC services in Marysville. He came out took a look at the system, cleaned the coils, checked out the pressure to find that a recharge was needed. Charged $80 a pound for 3 pounds, paid $240 total. AC blows cold now, air comes out at 55 degrees verses the 73 degree. Glad I took my service somewhere else. read more

Rich was the absolute most condescending sales person I have ever had dealings with. I called to set up a quote for a whole house fan and he proceeded to tell me over the phone (without ever looking at the property) what I needed and how I obviously didn't understand what the requirements were. I called back and spoke to the owner Bob Spencer, who is a professional, but informed him that Rich was such an utter disappointment and that due to that horrible experience that my business was lost for good. I do not have the time nor the patience for a business that I'm willing to spend several thousands of dollars with give me any attitude, especially when making first contact. UPDATE TO RESPONSE: Complete misrepresentation of the phone call. Rich is actually a known issue and after posting the review above on FB I received numerous messages in complete agreement in others dealing with Rich. Condescending, rude and unprofessional. read more

Great service. Cyrus did excellent work repairing an older A/C system . Cyrus was knowledgeable, friendly, professional, clean and a fast worker. I appreciate Cyrus provided pictures and explained the different issues and he also provided pictures of the finished work. We're happy and cool. read more

They are fast but also overcharge for things that could be simple fixes. We used them for our commercial properties. Quoted us with a $800 fix. I sent another HVAC company out and they reported back that the tenant still needed to call PG&E to get the gas turned on... This company banks on your ignorance. read more

Had an issue with our commercial fridge not cooling. Thomas came out and diagnosed the fridge and did an excellent job fixing our issues. Thomas was extremely knowledgeable and persistent to correct any issues with the fridge. Greatly appreciated service. read more

Paid $1024.00 for replacement elements on water heater. Two men showed up and spent two hours replacing. Couldn't drain water heater all the way. Left it like that. Asked for breakdown of bill (parts and labor) but company refused stating that they operate on a tier system. Will never use again. Complete rip off. Technician was polite and that's the only good thing to say about them. read more

On August 27 2023 Cyrus had came out to our home to repair our A/C unit. He went beyond the call of duty. He was real knowledgeable and continued to let us know what he was doing and teaching us of what happened. We were extremely grateful for his wonderful service. It was a very very hot day and he has such a great attitude and pressed forward to make sure we would have our A/C running smoothly before he left. We definitely will let others know how RB Spencer is no.1 with us. Thank you again Cyrus and Alex for working there at RB Spencer you are very valuable and amazing! Thank you.......B & J Popovich read more

I could not be more excited!!! Rich who gave us our estimate, and Alicia who worked with us, and answered all our questions couldn't have been more amazing! ! Karl and Kenny, our installers. have been so helpful, respectful, punctual, and hard working! We have needed a new system for quite some time. We had a lot of quotes and a lot of men come out to give estimates. From the beginning we knew RB SPENCER was the most knowledgeable and had the best prices. (Thanks Rich!) We got the American Standard, and man oh man, it feels like a blizzard in here! I love it!!! Thank you Karl and Kenny again, you two are amazing!!!! We will do all our heating and air work here from now on! read more

To the R&B I cannot express the level of disappointment from our dealings. Since May to June, water raining into our home, 3 service calls, had to wait days, finally tap out, left us hanging, back to square one read more

Calling RB Spencer is always a pleasure. The office staff is very courteous and helpful. The gentleman showed up today he was wearing a mask, and that was impressive especially during the pandemic. There response time was great. Their worker was prompt in getting to the Sacramento Valley Museum in getting the Sacramento Valley Museum in Williams up and ready for the summer months. I also made a appointment for my home HVAC to be serviced. Done it no time at all. I would so highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you RB Spencer for keeping us warm in the winter months and cool in the summer months. Julie Stone, Sacramento Valley Museum, Director, Williams, CA Don and Julie Stone Williams, CA read more

Rb spencer replaced my HVAC unit in my home. From the inspector, to the installation to the front office, all employees were professional and KIND. We had them out last year with heater problems, they said we had a clogged filter, charged us $25. Today we had a similar problem, fixed a switch that was bad, charged $110....what a incredibly ethical company. I will give all future HVAC business to them! God Bless you! read more

Brent sold my elderly mother a thermostat that must be programmed, then was unbelievably rude (threatened to leave on a service call) when I pointed out that for years she had been using it thinking pressing the up and down arrows (without pressing the hold button) made a difference. So go ahead a use them if you want them to oversell and over charge seniors. He also arrived over an hour after the appointment time window. Reviews need to be honest. This is honest. read more

The technician, Thomas, that showed up to do the maintenance on my unit was very polite and professional. He explained what he found and made suggestions for me to keep my unit running great and efficiently. Thomas was very knowledgeable and helpful. He noticed my gutter was full of debris, and my unit uses it to drain condensation from the a/c. He helped to clean it out. I think he went above and beyond to help me prevent roof damage or future problems. I read very impressed with Thomas and R.B.Spencer as a result of the great service I received today! Thank you!! read more

What can I say about the guys at RB that hasn't already been said? Karl & James were the team that actually came out & got started a day EARLY! Even the people testing air flow had nothing but praise. Professional, kind, fast, caring...they hit all the high marks. AND they beat the big guys by HALF PRICE! Thank so much guys! read more

They were unable to fix our heater, and billed us $275 when they estimated us at $125. They told us they would come back when parts were ordered (turned out to be 2 months) and left us without heat. They told us they wanted to come back when the parts were ordered and it would cost us an additional $125 plus any labor costs. Never called back when left messages, and put on hold for 15-20 minutes each time. Awful service, awful experience read more

I called RB Spencer and was connected with Thomas. He connected with a possible problem and encouraged us to get it checked. Even though it was the end of the day, he was so kind to say he would come over soon. I was so grateful because our air needed his expertise. It was 91 outside and our unit was STRUGGLING. BUT now our house is comfy cozy. And, our hearts are warm and grateful for the service we received today. Thank you. read more

Was looking to get new HVAC system installed in my home. Was hesitant in buying from bigger companies out of sacramento and wanted to stay local. Rb Spencer was highly recommended. They sent a salesman out to look at system and he informed me I was to receive a quote in an email. My intention is to pay cash and not finance. Never received a quote. I left a message with the web site and was given a return call apologizing for not receiving a quote. Yet once again my email is 100% quote free from RB Spencer. My home is nice and in a good neighborhood. Nor was I difficult to deal with. Apoarently RB Spencer is an extremely affluent company that does philanthropy work instead of run a business. So weird read more

Thanks for keeping me waiting around all day then to call me at 6pm to tell me you were not able to make it to my house to fix my ac. This by far was one of the worst customer service I had to deal with in a long time. I had to call valley services and they showed up within an hour so thanks for nothing rb spencer. read more

Called RB Spenser to check out why my A/C was freezing up. I told them the fan was not coming on and the lines were freezing up. The guy came out to check it out and told me we needed a new capacitor for the fan and a recharge, I don't think we needed the recharge just think he was trying up sale us being the the A/C work the same before and after but that's beside the point. So long story short the problem was not fixed called them out to check the same problem and they charged me a second time to check out the problem they miss diagnosed and they still couldn't give me a straight answer what's wrong with the unit. I tried two times to talked to them about the second diag charge to see if they would to see if they would let it go. They never returned my calls. If I ever need heater A/C work I won't be calling them. RB Spenser returned my call the next day and waved the second diagnostic fee which was nice of them. I'm not a 100% happy with the out come but they made it right to this point. read more

Three weeks and still waiting, over 100 every day!!!! worst customer service ever!!!! In December 2014 I purchased a brand-new Lennox heating and cooling unit from R.B Spencer in Yuba city, with a 5 year warranty...... apparently without even coming out they know the coil inside has a leak! I guess Lennox units are known for that. But Spencer's isn't bringing anew coil they have to order that. They just want 1200 dollars to come look at it"Wth" one person on the phone told us sometimes you get a good one and sometimes you get a bad one "Really I spent 7,000 dollars " another person at Spencer's told us it was normal for the house to be 95 when it's 105 outside!!!! WHAT the heck are you talking about Lady... In my opinion if Lennox knows their coils are bad they should fix them! And R.B. Spencer's should bill Lennox for the repairs..... read more

Absolutely horrible service. Had scheduled maintenance when I called on the day of to confirm with the mechanic they had rescheduled with NO notice. Also asked the service manager DARREN if they work on a particular unit and he said they did, when the service tech arrived he knew very little and was unable to repair. Money wasted and no progress made. read more

Anna is amazing!!! Outstanding customer service, set my appointment up with zero issues. Super friendly and nice. Give her a promotion

Very pleased with the service call that was made to my home today. The Technician arrived on time, as scheduled, was very courteous and professional, and did a seemingly very good job , despite being faced with some challenges in reaching the unit. I'll certainly use their services again in the future. read more
