two burgers and french fries
Jen K.

A welcome suprise! While doing Door Dash, I needed to stop for gas. At the pump, they were advertising the Urban Counter, which is part of the Mobile station. Rather than going to McDonald's, I took a chance, and it was amazing! Everything is made to order, I think. I had mini cheese burgers with catsup and lettuce, which are a great size! I ordered the regular handcut fries and a chocolate / strawberry shake, which is made with real ice cream. If you are in the Wheaton area, I would recommend stopping in! The prices are reasonable and the customer service is amazing!

This quick serve restaurant is attached to a gas station. It's honestly the best gas station restaurant I've been to. The 1/2 lb burgers are gigantic and cooked how you want them prepared. I couldn't finish mine! They also offer mini sandwiches which I thought would be really small but someone else got that and 1 or 2 mini sandwiches would have been perfect for me. I would probably get that next time since a 1/2 lb is too much. My fiancé likes his burger but mentioned some of the bacon didn't taste fresh on it. For our side we split the tator tots, they were cooked perfectly and a perfect size to share or eat alone. The speed was appropriate and the staff were friendly. We also enjoyed a vanilla milkshake. Again a great portion size. The consistency was dead on, it wasn't too thick where you can't drink it through a straw but it wasn't cold milk either! Overall they are about the same price as portillos and give you a lot of food for it. Everything was good quality. Great restaurant for being attached to a gas station. My only complaint is that all the tables needed to be wiped down in their seating area when we visited.

Bacon cheeseburger

Stop eating at every other hamburger joint in the suburbs and start eating at this joint. Five Guys, Portillos, they have decent burgers, Urban Counter has some of the best hamburgers I've ever indulged in. I like my burgers like I like my women, thick and juicy and they delivered. A nice half pound burger I ordered was the Bacon burger, I don't usually order my burgers the way this one was topped but this was f-ing phenomenonal. Bacon, onion rings and a sweet tangy BBQ sauce and jalapenos, I'm usually a strict burger traditionalist but this was fantastic. The fries are real much like you'd get at Gene and Judes. This place deserves your business, they deserve to succeed because their burgers are delicious. Places that have delicious food deserve to have loyal repeat customers who keep them in business and keep us happy.

Breakfast Burrito no bacon

I forgot about this place for awhile. Got some breakfast burritos to-go. They were fantastic and the perfect size. I got mine with no bacon bc I can just be weird about bacon in things sometimes if not crispy. Dave took a bite of mine and actually liked it better than the bacon one. I recommend calling it in if you are in a rush. Food here is made to order which is great but obviously means it takes a little more time. Still just shocked we can get such fresh and tasty food from a gas station ha.

Ordered a Chicago style hot dog and a salad, but the hot dog was delivered to me plain. Plus the hot dog was a grey dull color and cold , like it had been sitting on a shelf somewhere for hours

Ice cold fries

I visited on Saturday January 28th around noon! The food was inedible and not cooked. They added mayo to the hot dog and also the fries are supposed to be fresh cut but where from a freezer bag.

Who knew a Mobil station could hide such a great burger shop. Their hand formed burgers are huge! They even ask how you would like them prepped (medium of course). The blue cheese burger was fantastic with just the right amount of bacon spread. The guys at the counter were super friendly and very attentive. I'd say this place rivals any of the best out there at a fraction of the price. Will definitely return on the next trip to Wheaton.

Had a great lunch here , made fresh and great service. Location is odd but go for it. Gonna try the breakfast burrito next time.

Hard to believe how good that meal was! I had the Southwest salad with grilled chicken. Literally saw them out the chicken on the grill. Fresh and delicious! The homemade dressing was spicy and wonderful! My husband had the Polish sausage. It snapped when he bit into it...and the caramelized onions, spicy brown mustard, and poppy seed bun were outstanding. And the fries...oh my! Because everything is made fresh and to order, don't expect fast food speed. But it is truly worth the wait!

Asthetically pleasing in presentation. Great addition to the Geneva area. I was surprised at the s'mores mousse I thought it would be more of a chocolate-flavor but I picked up a fruity taste to it.

Nothing I can really say that hasn't been said already. I had the blue cheese burger, and it seriously was one of the best burgers I have ever had. Husband had the classic - same perfection! Can't wait to go back. And so glad my "best burger in DuPage" Google search brought me to Yelp! and Urban Counter. I can't tell you how many times I driven through this intersection, and never saw this little gem. This will definitely be a regular.

Very good burgers and dogs for a very good price. Been here twice now, and was quite impressed both times. The veggie burger is my favorite.

Service was fairly quick and friendly. Parking is plentiful nearby, though it's a bit of a challenge to park next to the building both because of limited spots and narrow alleys. The menu is quite expansive, with options that are a bit different than what you typically expect, and the prices are fair. For someone who goes to a minimum of one or more brunches per week, the drink and food menus here drew me to the restaurant. After a while, a lot of menus look very similar with the same generic offerings of the standard pancake, waffle, omelet, and waffle options. This spot has a lot of fun options such as avocado steak toast, barbacoa skillet, churro hawaiian bread french toast, biscuit bombs and more. Even on more common options, they generally carry a wide range of flavor profiles from fruits to chocolate to nuts and more. Similarly, drinks include mimosas, champagne, cocktails, wine, spritzers, beer, juices, milks, coffees, teas, and more -- with tons of customization options. I'm a huge fan of this since it allows me to come back here with friends and not get bored of trying different things. The prices are also very fair for the higher quality products they serve. The food overall was impressive as well. I found the hash skillet to be flavorful with corn beef that wasn't too salty and quite tender. The best part was probably the potatoes that were seasoned to perfection and absorbed the flavors of the onion and pepper well, with a slightly crispy edge. The normal pancakes were super fluffy and quite thick. The pumpkin pancakes were a great combination with a delicious cream cheese frosting and a mix of dried cranberries, walnuts, and pumpkin pie sauce that was flavorful and addictive. This didn't need any additional syrup. The pumpkin roll french toast was equally as impressive where the toast was just a little crispy and the cream cheese frosting was a bit gooey. This was quite a fun mix of textures also with delicious sugared pecans and pumpkin pie drizzle. Overall, delicious food and great options make this a spot I'm sure to return to anytime I'm in the area.

The atmosphere hits that perfect sweet spot, warm, welcoming, and buzzing with just enough energy to make you feel like you found the place. Cozy without trying too hard, friendly without being fake, and full of that comforting breakfast chaos that somehow makes coffee taste better. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and somewhere between the first bite and the shamefully aggressive scraping of the plate, I experienced personal growth. These weren't sad, cafeteria biscuits fighting for survival under mystery gravy. No. These biscuits showed up with confidence. Fluffy, buttery little clouds carrying gravy so rich and comforting it could probably talk me through my taxes and unresolved childhood issues. By bite three, I was mentally canceling my responsibilities and considering forwarding my mail to Glenn Oak. The dangerous part? I looked around and realized everyone else seemed equally possessed by whatever culinary wizardry is happening in that kitchen. Suddenly ordering one thing felt irresponsible. If the biscuits and gravy hit this hard, what else are they hiding back there? Glenn Oak is the kind of place that makes you want to tell everyone you know... and absolutely nobody at the same time because waiting longer for a table sounds emotionally devastating. 10/10. Came here a few weeks ago. The food is delicious, and everyone is super friendly…read more I had the Waldorf Chicken Salad Melt. Their website is under construction so I called beforehand to ask what exactly comes in the chicken salad, and to make sure the mayo wasn't some weird tangy Miracle Whip type (it isn't). I based my decision on the photo I saw here on Yelp which showed it as a sandwich. Imagine my surprise when it came out served on an open-faced English muffin! That said, once I got over my shock I was really digging all the flavors of the creamy chicken salad, melted cheese, and muffin. I just hadn't anticipated needing a knife and fork to eat it! I used to get the Door County Melt from Egg Harbor all the time but I have to say, Egglectic Cafe's version is better. My husband got the Monte Cristo which he really liked. I took a bite and thought it was pretty good. They served it with a side of Dijon-mayonnaise and raspberry preserves, both of which were good. My only complaint is regarding the conflicting information I was given regarding the choice of sides, and not being told which included an upcharge. The gentleman on the phone listed more options than what our server did when I asked (because I couldn't remember them all from my call). When I picked the onion petals I wasn't aware of the upcharge and didn't find out until the bill came. They were quite delicious, so I would get them again anyway. Plus I assume the physical menus listed the upcharge, but since I already knew what I wanted, I hadn't looked. That being said, I wish servers would call attention to upcharges, particularly when someone asks for a list of side options, the assumption being they are completely unfamiliar with them and any extra charges. Just an idea if management happens to read this. They gave my husband a to-go cup of the iced tea he had ordered which I thought was a nice touch. I think Egg Harbor used to do something similar. I'm not sure if that's standard practice, or they wanted us to leave, because it was pretty empty inside and it was about 2:10 pm when we were finishing up (they close at 2:30). All that said, I'd absolutely come back for that chicken salad melt alone. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
