I can't pass up visiting a new coffee shop, so we tried this one. We all ordered tiramisu lattes. They were so cute and good, it's not a very sweet drink, but it was still very good. It's a cute shop, I love the ambiance. It's small but there is seating. Service was great.
So glad I read up on this place before coming, the ube latte is a must. They use an ube purée as the base, then add steamed milk and one or two shots of espresso (same price, your choice) to create a delicious drink. It will definitely have me coming back. I didn't explore the downstairs seating area, but even the small storefront where you order drinks was charming and serene. Not much space at the ground level, but they do a good job making it feel like a quaint village storefront. Looking forward to staying a while next visit!
Such a cute interior. I came super late and couldn't stay longer before the basement closed + seats were full upstairs but I enjoyed the ambiance and decor nonetheless. The mini cupcakes drew me in initially. Definitely pricey for being so little but it's a vibe.
The vibe of this place is really cool! I wasn't super impressed with the chai here, it was a bit watered down. But there's seating in the entrance and then there's a downstairs area with much more room. Good place for a meetup!
While roaming around New York City, I stumbled upon this cute little coffee shop and I'm so glad I did! The ambience cozy, welcoming, and the perfect spot to take a break from exploring the city. I didn't take as many photos as I should have, but you can catch a glimpse of the charming entryway while I'm holding my coffee. The staff were friendly, and the coffee did not disappoint!
Returned because I saw on social media that they had a limited edition menu of ube treats. The ube halaya muffin with coconut crumble did not disappoint - I loved it so much! Tip: bathroom and additional seating downstairs.
Everything I got was made to perfection. Ube latte was unbelievably good. The right balance of sweetness and the espresso still comes through. Peach cardamom tea loaf was fragrant and cakey in texture. Not very sweet at all which is honestly what I was looking for. Icing they use is a very nice subtle compliment to the spiced and tart flavors. Maple bacon bun was heavenly lmao. Bun was the right texture, doughy and soft and inside they weaved in these crispy maple bacon pieces along with egg and cheese. It's definitely on the heavier side and enough to be your breakfast. Inside is so beautiful. Excellent execution on everything tbh. An unsuspecting place on the outside but spectacular deliciousness awaits you inside.
The cutest little hidden gem! I happened to stumble upon this coffee shop and it is now on my nyc must do list. The inside is beautiful and serene, a needed reprieve for the streets of nyc. I ordered their seasonal tiramisu latte and it was absolutely one of the best lattes I have ever had. 10/10 recommend!
Such a good lavender latte! I love how subtlety the lavender flavor was infused with the espresso -- it was more floral and natural than sweet and artificial like most lavender lattes tend to me. They have such delicious sounding signature/seasonal lattes too. Definitely have to come back for the tiramisu latte.
Got the tiramisu latte and it was very good!! Creamy and not water down .Will come back try the earl grey lavender cloud next!!
Solid coffee, particularly their specialty lattes. Interesting setup of a space overall - order your coffee on one side, and then exit and re-enter on the other side for the additional seating! Staff was really friendly. The real star of the show are the pastries. We had a coffee cinnamon roll that was almost like monkey bread. So freaking good!
After our sumptuous feast at Russ and Daughters Cafe, I researched where to go for a great Cappucino and Urban Backyard popped up with glowing reviews. I was excited and with good reason. As soon as we entered, the vibe was unmistakably unpretentious down to earth and just super comfortable. The baristas were also extraordinarily kind, humorous and helpful. What sets them apart from others is that they engage with people on a meaningful level, which is rare and so very much appreciated. I ordered my oat milk cappuccino with one pump of caramel and it was utterly delightful. My only regret is not ordering the decadent looking espresso chocolate loaf staring me in the face practically begging me to get it. Ha ha.. There is always next time.
The staff here is really nice and makes you feel welcomed. It's a tight space, so not ideal to come and sit here. The drinks were good, though not my favorite in the city

This was a really sweet café, with two levels! You order on the ground floor, and then you can sit on the ground floor, or you can take the steps to go downstairs. I ordered a chai latte, which was very yummy, but I was actually the most impressed by their espresso chocolate loaf -- it was sooooooooo good!!!!!! I also tried the yuzu jasmine loaf but didn't like it as much. Their salt bread was also tasty. read more

All stars for the ambiance - stepping into the café, you would not believe it is in the middle of NYC. It feels like time has stopped when you step into this peaceful oasis between all the craziness of the city. Also, this is a café with bathroom!!! Unheard of in NYC - I have been to several cafes in NYC and 99% of cafes don't have a bathroom. Especially those hyped on social media ones like Radio Bakery, La Cabra, Supermoon Bakehouse (sorry not to shame you because I love you but still...), Diljān etc. and the list goes on and on. Not sure why so many overpriced cafes in this city do not have a bathroom. Like you are not ashamed of charging $13 for a croissant but cannot have a functional bathroom that a paying customer can use? Now to the drinks: we got the Tiramisu and Ube latte - I had heard such great things about their Tiramisu Latte, and it looks as good as it did in all the photos. However, I just thought the cream on top was quite heavy and dense. Both the lattes tasted good until we mixed them, after which they became quite bitter probably because their espresso shot is very strong. read more

(Dirty Ube Latte: A) - The dirty ube latte provides a great balance between creamy sweetness coming from that beautiful purple sheen of the ube cream and the intensity from the espresso. This drink was a delicate balance done well that was impressive, and I am hopeful that it translates to the rest of their intriguing menu. I also liked that the cafe had a bit of seating space with comfy cafe vibes, and that the staff are proactively considerate w.r.t. adjusting sugar levels and the delicate balance of flavors that may come to be because of that. Highly recommend this cafe! Food: +2 Presentation: E Price: E Atmosphere: E Service: +1 Menu: +1 Overall: 5 stars Insta/Yelp/Beli/TikTok: @amei_eats read more
Cute coffee shop in SoHo, with a garden theme and a couple cozy indoor seats. Ube latte as well as lavender latte were both lovely, maybe greater preference for the lavender latte. They didn't had the lavender earl grey flavor that morning. Pastries also look fresh and delicious, would love to return again to try them out. read more

First time at urban backyard and it was the perfect time to go during fall. There are only a couple of tables and a bench for indoor seating on the first floor, but there is a bottom floor with a lot more tables and chairs. There's also a little bit of seating outside. I ordered the pumpkin pie latte to drink there and it was absolutely delicious. I will preface by saying that it seems like it was a fall special. We were able to get a seat indoors and also tried their banana loaf bread, which was so good. I wanna go back and try some other drinks. read more
I loved my black sesame latte. Not too sweet and not too strong coffee. Very smooth and it almost makes you feel like you are drinking milk tea. The place is cute but the space is super small, so if you are thinking aboit sitting in, think twice. There are about 5 seats in the store. Oh, there were some scrumptious bakeries i didn't get to try read more

Was in the mood for ube latte so was searching online and found this place! It's a small cafe so it's more meant to be grab and go place but I definitely enjoyed trying their drink! I also really like their botanical mini cupcakes read more

Stopped by Urban Backyard while strolling through Manhattan -- the coffee craving hit, and this was the first spot we saw. I grabbed a cold cappuccino and asked for it sweet. It was perfect -- the right balance of caffeine, sweetness, and chill. Totally hit the spot. The café itself is super cozy and cute. They also sell tea and other little goodies, which adds to the charm. Staff was friendly and quick, and the menu prices were reasonable. Can't wait to go back and try their specialty -- the ube latte! read more

This is a wonderful coffee shop to relax and or study an work at! I got the earl grey lavender latte and it was delicious and rich. The lavender flavor was not overwhelming and was well-balanced with the fresh earl grey tea. The interior of the shop is designed like a backyard and there's even a basement level below the main level where there's a bathroom and several tables you can sit at. There's also some small tables set out front. The overall vibe is cozy and inviting and there's also free wifi. The service from the staff was friendly and attentive and they had my drink made in less than a few minutes after I ordered. I also enjoyed the cute latte art on top. This is a great coffee shop to check out if you are in the Soho area and they make wonderful drinks here and it's a good place to wind down at throughout the day! read more
Cute coffee shop in Nolita! It gets busy fast. Luckily on a Friday mid-morning it wasn't too bad and I could find a seat upstairs. They also have an electric downstairs seating area with sustainability in mind. Vintage tv, wooden seats, dim lights.... It's cozy. There's also a single restroom there. They have free WiFi. I ordered the ube latte as it sounded unique and is a pretty purple color. The latte was good (not overly sweet) and comes in a large cup. The color was more of a faint lavender vs the dark purple you see in other photos online. You can get it with one or two shots of espresso as the machine automatically makes two. I got just one shot and took the second on the side. The latte is just under $9 and I nice treat. They also have a menu of baked goods and breakfast items. Staff were friendly. read more

The beauty of cities. There is something nice in every nook and cranny. This location had a really nice cup of coffee. Lucky we were able to get a seat and just relax for a bit I'm the corner. Remember that there are seats downstairs! read more
5 stars for their lavender latte and americano. We have yet to try their famous cupcakes because they ran out when we got there in the afternoon, but still a great coffee spot in Nolita. Lavender latte with oatmilk was rich, topped with creamy foam instead of a slinky top that oatmilk usually gives out. The lavender was subtle and not overpowering and was well balanced out with the espresso. I asked for half decaf but they do not offer that- they instead suggested 1 shot instead of a double shot of espresso and the drink still came out great. Americano was straight forward, bold and strong. Interior is comfortable and cozy, narrow and limited seating in the main area, and they also have a downstairs area with seating and books with the door right next to the main door. Cute spot to spend a short time just to get out of the bustle outside. read more
I have been wanting to check out urban backyard for a long time so I decided to stop here after my doctor appointment. I ordered two mini succulent cupcakes and they were delicious. The frosting was soft. Such a cute cafe. I sat down to read my book for an hour as I had time and wanted to enjoy the coffee shop and fully enjoy the additional seating space that they have. 10/10 recommend coming here for their cupcakes especially if you are a plant enthusiast/lover. read more
Super delicious and crisp coffee/drinks. Shop was small with little to no seating when you first walk in, with a cute neighborhood, cozy, hipster vibe. It's super cute inside. My fav was the ube latte. We went during a weekday morning, and it wasn't busy at all so the service was super quick! I really want to try their garden cupcakes and regret not getting one, so next time I'm in the city I'll be quick to come back. read more

The CUTEST cafe with a garden feel. They have delicious sweet and savory pastries. There is a downstairs with extra seating too. Vibes on point! read more
It has been awhile since my last visit. Nestled near SoHo, its botanical atmosphere adorned with festive halloween decors like pumpkins and terrifying fake spiders. ＊ Pumpkin Pie Latte Its velvety foam was generously sprinkled with a delicate dusting of pumpkin spice, and the first sip was nothing short of a cinnamon-y and gingery aroma. I had some really sweet pumpkin spice lattes before but this one was lightly sweetened. A shot of espresso provided a robust and slightly bitter undertone to balance out the pumpkin purée. ＊ Rose Cardamom Latte I usually steer away from rose lattes as I'm afraid of the artificial aroma of rose syrup, but this rose cardamom latte slapped. It combined espresso and milk with the natural fragrance of rose and cardamom. Some dried rose petals were added as a garnish to make it aesthetically pleasing. ＊ Masala Chai Mini Cupcake ＊ Pumpkin Spice Mini Cupcake Aww their mini succulent cupcakes are almost too cute to eat! These eye candies are obviously designed to be appreciated visually. The flavor of pumpkin spice was weak, but both the flavors and cupcake texture were better than the masala chai one. FYI these spooky cuties are available from noon! ＊ Pumpkin Loaf w/ Spiced Cream Cheese Well...probably the most awful loaf I've ever eaten. The second when we cut the loaf with our forks, we could literally feel the terribly dry and crumbly texture. It was so bad that we told the barista and he refunded us. I really appreciated their immediate remedy, so I will still go back for their high quality coffee but definitely not their pastries. read more
