Here's the thing, this place gives off snooty cafe in the best way possible. Inside is stone and glass. The baristas talk to you in monotone, there's a few fancy specials on the wall and that's it. And I love it. I ended up ordering the Crème Brulatte and although pricey, it definitely is as described. It's a not too sweet latte with a thick, custard cold foam and complete with torched sugar. I had the BEST hot strawberry matcha latte here. I made the mistake of not drinking water for several hours after I had it so I couldn't fall asleep for an hour but lesson learned. I would 100% go back to get this again. I always get an iced version because the idea of strawberries in a hot drink doesn't sound appealing, but the flavor of this was incredible!!! Tried the famous creme brûlée latte and it was good! The custard on top is what makes it delicious. It needs to be mixed well to enjoy it without being too bitter. It's a small space so very minimal seating. Definitely not a space to work in. Ordering was easy and our drinks came shortly after. I'd definitely come back and get this drink again! read more

Came across this coffee shop in thanks to tik tok. It is also a photo studio in the back I believe. It's a very small coffee shop with one table and like 2-3 bar stools. There are also two wooden chairs outside to enjoy your coffee in. Very clean and nice presentations of what they offered. I wanted to try one of their special drinks which was the Crème brûlée latte. In the pictures I have seen online and social media it looked awesome. I knew going into it that this drink was crazy pricy! $13.00 + tip! The most I have ever spent on an iced latte. I was hoping it would be like the BEST iced latte I have ever tasted. Well I was wrong! I was disappointed too. Not sure if the one person that was there when I was there is always there but I wish he could have put more fire on the Mascarpone to make it more like hard and crispy burnt tasting. The person was nice don't get me wrong. But not sure if there are other people who work here who would have made it differently. I also think there was a bit too much Mascarpone. I wanted to try the Crème brûlée latte of course since all the videos and pictures on social media looked amazing. It was good, but not $13 good. This review is a bit overdue and I finally got my hands to write it. My friend and I popped in to try a crème brûlée latte(?) that was all over both of our for you page on well know social media app. So since people were raving about it at the time, we had to try. The drink itself was more or less "expectation/reality" meme. It was made in a rush and barista did not seem thrilled to having to make it. It tasted just.....okay? The top was barely toasted so it was essentially just a latte with extra thicc (with two "c"s) cream on top. My friend got a Vietnamese cortado (?? May remember the name of this drink wrong, it's been a while). She was disappointed with it for both the taste and presentation. She was hoping to have it served the same was as in picture inside the cafe. The seating situation is not great. There's one small table in the corner, and a couple of counter seats, but that's about it. So definitely not the kind of place you'd want to sit down at and share a drink with someone and catch up. read more

I've never tried the food, but the cloud latte is one of my favorite coffees in the city! The maple foam on top is incredible, and I think about it often! I walked into this shop kinda randomly as I was walking by searching for a place to eat. Coffee sounded good so I stepped inside to see if I can get something to keep my search going. Workers were nice. I ordered, minutes later it was ready. It's a small shop with like one table and a couple of stools which isn't so bad. My gripe was that I ordered the hanoi aroma as it was the advertised specialty drink by their menu. It's double the cost of their other drink because it was one of their signature items. I figured that should be good especially for the price. I wanted something to really get a taste of how this shop is. To my discovery it was just a regular iced coffee, idk why I expected different as they do show what it is in the small poster. But I was just disappointed. To top it off it made my throat feel a little scratchy. I am not sure why as I don't have any allergies. They do have these biodegradable straws available that I gave a try so maybe that's something I shouldn't have taken. The kind of lids they have for the plastic cups are the kind meant to pour out but also a straw hole. That's actually kind of cool to offer both in one but maybe I shouldnt have taken their straw. Foreigner is definitely a hidden gem of coffeeshops in NYC. Located in the Flatiron district and Chelsea, Foreigner is both a coffeeshop and a photography/film studio (available for rent on their site). The interior is chic and minimalist black. Coffee is great and the price tag is comparable to others as they are a specialty coffeeshop that also has various seasonal lattes such as the Hanoi, a condensed espresso concoction similar to a càphê sửa nóng (not sure if they make a cold version). I've come here several times whenever I'm in the area for some good black espresso and the occasional latte which is convenient. The seating is not ideal for groups if you plan to stay inside as there is one two seater table and two bar seats by the window. They did expand their outdoor seating into a unique setup that I've never seen any other coffeeshop do. Overall, if you're looking for good strong coffee made with quality beans, this place is my recommended stop. They also sell their own nice smelling candles and have pastries from La Carbra. They've been open post-pandemic. No bathrooms. Small shop. Not ideal for working. Indoor/outdoor seating available and take out. Drink up! read more

I have a sweet tooth so I've tried probably all the popular cookies at least in Manhattan and this one was a total surprise and blew me away. It is baked perfectly - firmer on the edges and softer towards the center, incredible flavor with hints of caramel / toffee, and the perfect amount of sea salt. The baklava latte was also great and they have Nekohama matcha chocolate bars. The chocolate bar was also great but not cheap ($18) - good matcha flavor, smooth, and small croissant bits. I will definitely go back!! Very small location with 1 two-person table, 2 counter seats, and 2 seats outside. Super fast and nice service. read more

I would recommend this over the nearby Starbucks, especially for you're trying to avoid straight up sugar drinks that are more dessert than coffee I asked for a cortado and got it almost immediately. I recently tried the Foreigner popup location in SoHo and had a nice oat cappuccino. Their service was fast and my barista was very friendly and nice. The inside of this popup space was huge! There was also plenty of seating. Foreigner is currently doing a popup in the Shopify event space and giving out free coffees till the end of January. Given that the coffee was free, I was surprised it wasn't really that busy. I work nearby so I stoped in around 9:30am before getting into the office and there was no wait and only a handful of people inside. Still, I'm happy to come back and try more coffee and maybe even a pastry next time before the popup ends. Coffee is just okay and the cashier/barista is really rude. She acted like she didn't hear me the first time I ordered. It's a tiny cafe, so it's definitely not a sit-down and work type of space. The coffee itself was a really generic tasting vanilla iced latte. I've had this coffee shop in my bookmarks for a while and specifically took the trek to come, but I regret it. Based on the other reviews, it seems like an unwelcoming vibe is shared among lots of visitors. Happened to stumble upon this hidden gym on my walk to the train. Small, minimalistic cafe, with a very cool, warm, and chill vibe (the best on a rainy day). Definitely more of a stop and go shop, although there is a small 2 seater table and a couple bar stools if you wish to stay. Limited pastries (I personally love the cardamom bun), and full coffee menu - tasty and priced the same as all other coffee shops in the city. Service is quick, quiet and friendly. There was no outdoor seating when I went, most likely because of the weather, so no notes. Will definitely stop in again. read more

I went for the crème brûlée latte. I read a lot of reviews that it was so sweet so I was really surprised to find the latte underneath was quite bitter. I don't think it had any flavor except a strong coffee flavor, I feel like even a vanilla would help balance things out with the custard on top. As for the custard, it might have been if it mixed into the coffee kind of like a cold foam it would balance nicely, but because it's much thicker it didn't and neither could you get a sip of coffee with it together or through a straw, so it was quite hard to enjoy on the go. I tried mixing it in but like I said it didn't help much. Maybe they should try putting it on the bottom so it's easier to sip kind of like boba toppings. The taste of the custard was very eggy, again missing some flavoring like through a good vanilla. It was fun but I was drooling over pics and vids and it wasn't all that at all tbh. read more

The service is horrible - I've been here a handful of times and despite the shop being completely empty every time I've gone, the baristas are almost rolling their eyes and act like you're annoying them when you order a drink.
