Came in today for a manicure and brought two kids with me. DO NOT GO HERE because they will find a way to up-charge you. I was charged a $5 take off fee for having gel polish on my toes even though the service i received was a gel polish change. This fee was not told to me prior to the service and when I asked the receptionist about it she acted confused and said it was because i already had polish on and I explained that yes I did and that the sole definition of a polish change is a service that removes old polish and applies a new color. The service is already $10 more than a regular polish change so why doesn't the difference in price cover them taking off the old polish. If that's the case just charge $30 for a gel polish change and $25 should be if you come in without color and just want gel polish. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very horrible customer service on their end.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] To make matters worse the color they showed me wasn't what was in the bottle and i absolutely hate it. read more

Do not go to this place. Terrible service from the front to the tech. Unfortunately. The only person that had any great service was my pedicure tech. She was sweet knew what she was doing and wasn't rushing. As for my nail tech. Terrible!!!!!! Doing things way too fast and my acrylic set was trash. I asked for a refund and they could take my nails off and they refused. $130 loss on my end but I will never return to this place and I wouldn't recommend anyone go here either. Nails started lifting within hours, they were not shaped by the acrylic area just glob of acrylic it was a horrible experience actually. read more

Mimi gave me the best service I've experienced in a nail salon...ANYWHERE. She was so attentive and made sure she had the correct powder colors, and understood the design I was going for. Her technique was gentle and so clean. She painted my entire nail and I felt absolutely no pain. She made sure to check in with me to ensure I was comfortable through the process. Edit - the manager called me this morning to rectify the situation, they refunded me for the services that were subpar and were very apologetic. Adding two stars for the swift response. Absolute worst experience at any nail salon I've been to. First of all, it's dirty and the staff weren't nice at all. I needed gel removed and just a basic manicure - tech didn't remove the gel completely. Didn't push back/trim my cuticles at all. Just painted over all of it. On top of that I'm pretty sure I have an infection - I've been getting my nails done consistently for 10 years and never once had an infection! Do not recommend. read more

I've been trying new nail salons because let's be honest ladies, it's personal! I've been going to a few other places near my neighborhood but wasn't really happy with the results. I usually get a manicure (cleaning up the cuticles) and the NexGen Dip. Hands down this place is really good with this service. I was so happy with it. I'm super picky with the cuticles being trimmed properly and even application of the dip and she got it. You can get a free drink while you get your service which is a nice bonus. I think they rub specials regularly so I'll be sure to take that up next time. Highly highly recommend this place. read more

I'm a travel nurse and it's always hard to find someone you like to do your nails when you move around and Tiffany was great! They do have valet parking for customers but I lived nearby and walked over from my apartment. They also offer wine and other beverages. I'm giving 3 stars for cleanliness and atmosphere but Tiffany deserves 5/5! I told her my nails were constantly chipping at work (prior to meeting her) so she worked with me to try and figure out how to make them last. The last dip set we did lasted an entire month! I received a haircut as a Mother's Day gift, and it was the worst salon experience I have ever had. During the haircut with Annette, over three inches of my hair was cut off, despite my explicit request to maintain the length. I asked for fluffy, face-framing with lots of layers, but the result was nothing like the inspiration photos I provided. As this was my first haircut in eight years at an actual salon, I was very upset. I cried on the way home and spent my Mother's Day extremely upset about all the length that was cut off after I had spent over a year regrowing it since cutting it postpartum and had finally got it back to a length where i felt like myself again. When I contacted the salon to request a refund, I was met with resistance. I contacted their salon through their Business Instagram and got ZERO response. Their website lacks a clear refund policy, only stating a 50% cancellation fee (which i asked if they could honor so i could get some money back but they refused) there was NOTHING discussing any return policy through services provided. Initially, they didn't offer any refund at all and just for me to come in and "fix" it, when the damage was already done. Then offered barely a refund of the tip and blowout cost, totaling $34, which they confirmed multiple times over the phone after me asking . However, I only received $23 back. Upon calling to inquire about the discrepancy, the staff was incredibly rude. Throughout all our interactions, including when I initially messaged their Instagram page (which received no response), the customer service was consistently poor. There was no apology offered at any point. On the phone they told me it was my fault because I did the math wrong on the amount to be refunded even though I clarified the amount on the original call and they agreed. After this I told them I would be leaving a review and to which the manager Jamie replied "okay see you on google" and hung up the phone. Overall, this was an awful experience marked by a drastic, unwanted haircut and appalling customer service. I cannot recommend this salon to anyone and I will NEVER be coming here again. I wish I could leave a zero star review because I don't even feel as though they deserve one. The photo evidence below consists of my hair before the appointment, the inspiration photos I shared with Annette, and lastly the hair cut that was nothing like I asked for.

Honey was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to educate me about my nails and explain the different services they offer, which I genuinely appreciated. My technician, Tia, started my appointment right on time. She was quiet but checked in with me to make sure she understood what I wanted. While the service itself wasn't bad, there wasn't anything that stood out. At other salons I've visited, the experience typically ends with small finishing touches--like applying lotion or a brief hand massage--but this service felt very basic. I still tipped Tia 20% because Honey worked me into the schedule during what would have been Tia's break, and I appreciated that accommodation. Unfortunately, once I got home and removed my contacts so I could see my nails more clearly, I noticed several details that became more apparent over the next few days. It appeared the polish wasn't properly sealed, and one nail had missing polish along the side before I ever left the salon. Since my nails were completely dry when I departed, I believe those issues should have been caught before the service was finished. For me, the overall experience wasn't worth the drive or the price I paid. The video of my nails tells the story better than this caption ever could. That said, based on my interaction with Honey, I genuinely believe booking with her could result in a different experience. She made a great first impression, and if I were to return, I would specifically request an appointment with her.

This is so they are able to charge if you are late or a no show. I was told by them that they expect clients to be accountable as they are, so I went along with it because I understood. They will charge me if I am late but give 15% off if they are late as well. First appt was ok but they were late. I had to wait about 15 or 20 min. The appt for hard gel I had took 3 hours! Yet I was ok. I was trusting them and the process. I made my next 2 appts at that time. The second visit took just as long if not longer. I had plans but was not able to keep them as they were because the appt took so long. I never got the chance to go to the third appt which I made two months prior and had planned right before a vacation. They sent a text the day before asking if it was ok to move my appt to a new tine. I declined because again I had plans for that day. They then sent multiple confusing texts asking me to change my appt time which I didn't understand when they originally asked and I declined. They finally called and confirmed my original appt. They then sent a text on the day of my appt two hours before to say the tech had the flu and they would have to reschedule me and gave me 5 or so random appt choices during the morning hours as if I don't work. So very unprofessional. If you value your time do not waste it on this establishment. I overlooked the contract, the high prices and the long timeframe for the service but I will not compromise on how I am treated. I will never go back and I encourage you to not waste your time or money with this establishment either. Value yourself, your time and your money!

Great spa centrally located with a very sweet and attentive staff. They usually have a masseuse who walks around doing neck and shoulder massages for 15-30 min (you choose). Uptown Nails has a great selection of polish, gel and powder and they bought new tubs ~spring 2017. They always offer water/wine/drinks during your service and are located right by Starbucks if you need some energy! 20% of Tuesdays and Thursdays and some days before 3pm, but note this does not apply to holidays! read more

Tiffany is my favorite nail tech ever!!! the quality of her work is by far greater than anyone i've ever seen. Here is a picture of my nails over SIX WEEKS after seeing her! no chips, no cracks, all still in tact and the color never faded! granted they're super grown out but the quality never wavered! My pedicure was terrific--the leg massage almost put me to sleep in the chair--I was so relaxed and it was just what I needed. My niece also got a manicure and said her experience was good, not mind-blowing, but still enjoyable. The little ones got their nails polished and were happy as can be. The Ulux staff even let them hang out in a massage chair together like "big girls" while they waited for our services to wrap up--adorable. Ulux offers complimentary drinks too: wine, soda, and water. My elder niece and I sipped wine, the girls got a bag of chips from the staff, and it all made for a festive girls' day out. Also, I received a discount as a first time visitor, which was a nice touch. Kevin mentioned they also have a second location in Oak Lawn, which I plan to check out next time. Parking in this area can be a little difficult, so I chose to Uber--definitely a smart move on a busy holiday week.
