This one is tough for me because supporting local businesses is so important. But what a miserable experience that all came down to service. Everyone working there looked and acted like they hated their lives. I paid $16 for a medium latte and a Turkey sandwich and I have no idea why, there weren't food prices posted, I didn't get a receipt and I wasn't asked if I wanted one. I should've asked but engaging with the staff didn't seem like an option. The person who tossed the sandwich down onto the table said "mmhmm" after I thanked them. The latte was hot but didn't have much espresso flavor. The sandwich was mmhmm. Disappointing and not sure I'll be back to try again- even though I'm torn on wanting a better experience hoping this was a one off experience. read more

This is my new go to when in Louisville! The coffee is so good, I don't know that I can get it from anywhere else now. I am in town visiting with my partners family and we are the only coffee drinkers. I passed Uptown Joe decided to stop in and get some coffee over the usual Speedway or McDonalds. Cute little Main Street coffee shop. You walk in from the street and there is a quaint little inviting lobby. Staff is super friendly. I ordered two black coffees ($3 each) to go but the have everything from hot and cold beverages to sandwiches. I didn't realize at first there is a back seating section too. I stopped at Uptown Joe's this morning and had a great experience. This is hole in the wall and does mostly take out business. I ordered a cup of regular coffee and a sausage egg and cheese bagel. The coffee was great quality and is much better than you get at any typical breakfast restaurant. The bagel was perfect and again they used quality ingredients for the sausage egg and cheese. The price was very reasonable and I plan to come back. read more

Seriously fantastic spot. I stopped in to grab a sandwich (egg salad on a pretzel roll) and a side of potato salad. I really wanted to try a pour-over (which, in my opinion, is the best way to drink coffee, especially if you drink it black like I do), but it was warm outside, so I tried the lavendar lemonade instead. Sandwich was great. Drink was refreshing. Service was very quick and super friendly. Looking for my afternoon remote work pick-me-up, I saw Uptown Joe on Maps. It was so small, that I almost missed it. Once inside, the most delightful barista helped me with my request of a decaf specialty drink. The staff were very kind, helpful, & accommodating. The atmosphere was very calming & welcoming, but I was about to hit another stop on my day and they were about close shortly anyway. Coffee is a 10/10 for me, what lacks is the food. My boyfriend and I love a good breakfast sandwich and these were just subpar. They were unnecessarily greecy and just really sticky. If you're only going for coffee this is one of the best out there though. read more

It's so nice to be able to have good coffee and sandwiches in uptown Louisville! The coffee is flavorful and smooth. I had iced coffee and it didn't taste watered down like you might get at other places. The sandwiches are deli type and delicious. I had the turkey and bacon with guacamole with all the fixings and it was reasonably priced. They have a couple of outdoor tables and we had a nice time people watching. read more
