A very affordable vibe. My first time here was Wednesday night. Parking is TWENTY dollars be aware and there isn't street parking anywhere. A trick I learned was to park at Sam's Boat, go inside order a shot and use the bathroom. Then go on over to Uptown. That way you can't be towed and don't have to pay $20 just $8. This worked for me. When I arrived it was lively but not packed. They offer $1 hookahs on Wednesday before 10! That alone has me sold. There are drink specials and happy hours every day. The food was okay. I ordered wings. The service was a bit slow. Im sure it's because of how busy it was. All in all I am adding this as a place to frequent for a reliable happy hour atmosphere. read more

I have visited on a few occasions and have enjoyed them all. This place really gets going. They play upbeat types of music. They have drink specials on Saturday which was the nite I went. I think it was $6 Tito's which I was drinking among a few other specials. The bartenders do a great job in taking orders and fixing the drinks strong They are known to their hookahs as they were on almost every table. They also serve food which their wings are enjoyed the most. They also have a large outdoor patio with lots of seating. Now the parking seems to be tight although I have usually parked next door while visiting Sam's boat. You will also be patted down before you can enter. This is a good thing. You should stop in you will be guaranteed a great time. read more

Day 2 in H-Town! We pulled up to Uptown. Service was great and everyone was helpful with explaining the happy hour specials (on chalkboard in video). We chose our own seating, ordered drinks and hookah and had a TIME. THE VIBE WAS EVERYTHING! We turned up, we sang our hearts out. The food and drinks were DELICIOUS. THANK YOUUUUUU read more

I love Uptown!! My boyfriend and I frequently go there when we feel like stepping out for some drinks and hookah. Compared to other bars, uptown is inexpensive, plenty of seating without having to buy a section, pretty good bar food and great priced drinks. The servers are always kind and attentive too! Definitely recommend for a night out. read more

In all of the years that I've visited Uptown Hookah Lounge, I've never had the experience these past couple of visits have brought about. It is never an issue to be searched, but to be groped, grabbed and touched inappropriately is beyond me! The lady security gaurd that is currently there is very misguided on what her job entails. There is never a reason to raise a person underclothes up to have their body parts displace from them. Or to reach under a persons skirt or dress, between their legs, touching private areas. My breast should not have been grabbed in any form or fashion. It was totally disgusting and disrespectful, and I was sitting in the establishment feeling violated. It wasn't only myself, several others received the same treatment two days in a row. I don't think that I will be visiting anytime soon, especially with her present. No other female security gaurd has ever been this way at Uptown. They should consider getting wands, because the hands are far too perverted on her! read more

This place is what you make it. Ambiance If you are from the PNW and want a chill vibe, this spot isn't for you. If you're looking for a mini turn up, with drinks and good music to dance to, this spot is most definitely for you. Food/Drinks I'm not used to having served alcohol at the hookah lounges, so it was great for me. My friends order food , but I didn't partake. They serve mainly dive bar food, so don't expect a course meal here. Service Our server was extremely friendly and attentive, making sure we always had water and drinks. It was a tad pricey after happy hour but it was worth it All in all, this place is a 8/10 recommend! read more

The place is great to meet new people and just have a good time but what I don't like is stubborn, entitled people... if you are a paying customer that customer should expect nothing but the best service, especially if they're paying the highest amount,,, I won't allow anyone to disrespect me or try to say I did things I never done.. I was accused of taking a bottle out the building .. that is insane because I would've been stopped by security. I paid three bottles I didn't finish one. I did ask for a refund, but they told me that they didn't know how to do it so I said just give me the bottle and I'll finish it off. I poured all of it inside of the ice bucket... and then I immediately walked out the section the waitress that I had ASSUMED I walked out with the bottle because she's too slow to not actually look in the ice bucket to see that there's an actual bottle in it.. she tried to tell the security to not let me out because I walked out with a bottle,, how can I walk out with a bottle when I'm still clearly inside the place?... I walked out anyway, because I had nothing in my possession .. legally, I cannot be kept in a business because that's a hostage situation,, even then I never lost my cool because what was the point of that? So of course the waitress lost her tip because what you're not gonna do is accuse me of something I've never done because you're too slow to not Pay attention. .. if I do go back up there, she will not be my waitress. I will need someone else.... In the video, she's to the far right with the braids, Lightskin... she was not a good waitress, and I was looking for her more than half of the night... you had already lost your tip then.. you never checked on us either Other than that, it's a good place to really have fun ... read more

I enjoy coming to this spot! You sit in any section you want, you place your own orders, and its a good vibe. I love their wings! The boneless henny bbq wings are top tier! I'd also like to highlight the integrity of the waitstaff, as I was about to leave the counter from paying and the waitress came from behind the register to flag me down and give me my card, as I must have forgot it at the counter after paying. I was amazed, as she or anyone could have had grimy thieving tactics that you often would expect in a nightclub. I made sure to find this lady and personally tip her for her honesty. Definitely will post more pics next time I go. read more

Bartender was a very sweet girl and super helpful. The drink specials 10/10 but the food definitely 0/10. My friend and I order two appetizers they seemed uncooked, cold and not appealing. Food was remade but still subpar basically looked the same way it was the first time. In the end we just got a refund. Bathroom is fulllllll of gnats and mosquitoes, definitely have to be ready for war in that restroom. Outside of all of that my friend and I had a good time. I would definitely eat before I go and try not to use the restroom lol read more

I came here on a Friday after work...it was easy to find a table, I'm sure that is because I got there kind of early. It definitely got packed toward the end of the night though. Parking, as always, is annoying. I paid $10 to park behind the lot, but it was full of water and mud, so beware of that. My server was Shay - and not only is she super pretty, but friendly as ever too! She suggested the chicken Alfredo empanadas, and man listennnn. They were cooked to perfection!! Super crispy and golden on the outside, soft and delish on the inside. Way better than I was expecting. Not sure what the sauce was but it went well. I selected purple haze for the hookah and there was nothing notable about the taste or way it smoked, but the coals were changed pretty frequently and I didn't have to hunt anyone down for help so that's a plus. I would definitely come back here, the vibe is pretty cool. read more

I give this lounge 3 stars, not because it doesn't pass the vibe check (it does), but because there are a few hits that prevent this good spot from being great. Parking is not free. You can pay between $5-$15 for parking which can situate you as far from the bar ($5) or as close to the bar ($15) as you would like. However, paying for parking does not guarantee the security of your vehicle. After reading a recent review where a person's vehicle was broken into, paying for a spot did not instill any confidence. I was a bit concerned about the safety of our vehicle throughout the night. We got in and went straight to the patio (because we are still mid-pandemic) and were low-key confused about whether or not they were going to service the tables. There was no real direction - no signs on the tables or chairs - indicating that we had to place our orders inside. We were further confused because it seemed like one table outside was getting service. However, we wizened up quickly enough and placed out orders inside. One of the hookar tenders behind the bar (barhookahtenders?) was gracious enough to acquiesce to my request to change the channel to the NFL draft - I truly appreciated that bit of hospitality. The menus were sticky (helllllooooooo hand sanitizer!) and the drinks were tasty but not very strong - which might just be my own personal preference. Outside of these minor concerns, I had a great time. The weather was perfect, the music reminded me of a happier, more simpler, pre-pandemic time, and the hookah was well balanced. All in all, this is not a bad spot. Absent the issues I addressed, it is a cool spot to kick back, chill, and smoke a bit. read more

OK...... uptown hookah is a bop for sure.. but more so for the young-mid urban crowd. I've been coming here for about 8 years & I LOVE IT! (Obviously or I wouldn't have been going there this long). The building is not the most attractive but the Hookah is simply AMAZING! They drinks are strong & reasonably priced. And the DJs they have are great! It gives me "lounge vibes with club tendencies" as after a few drinks the songs start kicking in & there's dancing everywhere!! Over the years I've gotten to know everyone from the owners to the parking lot people . I haven't been in about the last 6 months (COVID & having a baby), and I've heard things have changed DRASTICALLY! Upon returning I'll definitely give an updated review! read more

This place is horrible. The hookah is TERRIBLE, they have no waitresses, and no service at all. You have to go to the bar to order everything. The hookah was very low quality, at a standard $18. definitely one of the worst I've tasted, no one even came over to turn our coals for us. My friend ordered a pizza ($10) and I kid you not, this pizza is Digorno's!!!!! No plates, no napkins, just brought it out on the pan it was probably cooked in. We tried to make the best of it because we were a large group and the DJ wasn't that bad but yea. I'd never come back again. Don't waste your time! read more

Cool little spot. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a lounge without the crowds of a club. Maybe somewhere to chill when you don't want to turn allll the way up, or as a pregame before the club. A MUST GO‼ I love the atmosphere & the DJs be on the 1s & 2s!! lol- I only go on Tuesday or Wednesdays & it still be full of people.

The customer service and hospitality here is terrible. You can expect the employees to try and bum off of your hookah while security plays favorites and doesn't enforce their "dress code" equally. Overall, do not recommend. There's far better hookah lounges in Houston read more

This place is nice. Parking is $10 at least on Friday night. We came for a party, so drinks were on the party. The menu seems to be priced reasonably. We only ordered fried pickles which were flavored really good. It took a while for them to come out, but for $5 it was worth the wait. The staff checked in on our section often which was nice. Overall, good Friday hangout spot. The DJ came by and did a shout out to our birthday girl which was nice. May I add, the DJ was jamming. The hookah was cool, lits.of flavors to choose from. Parking is limited Atmosphere is chill Music is what you make it. I didn't like the old school vibes per se but others did. I went on a Monday night, so I think it's more of a chill vibe than hype. I love that they have televisions everywhere. It's also nice that the sections allow privacy and a form of seclusion. The chairs for the sections are torn up. My guess; dropped hookah coals and general wear and tear. On a more popular night, I'm assuming this place would be a GREAT vibe. Mondays, they are chill. I took away stars because of parking and service. Once they check on you once, they barely come around again. Like I said earlier, it was a Monday evening. That could be the reason. read more

I went to this spot with a couple of friends, looking for a late Happy Hour place to relax after work.. I've been to this location a few times in my nearly decade time in Houston and it's was different every time. The last time was a Sunday funday... Live band and good drinks on the patio. This time was karaoke night. The happy hour didn't really do it for me, so I got a drink with añejo Don Julio and other stuff.. the chicken sliders were pretty tasty, onion rings overcooked (but I ate a few of them). The music was good. The karaoke was funny. They passed up 2 of my friends (one did get her turn tho).. I kinda think it was on purpose, but ‍. All in all, I'd come back.. wish they still had the live band on Sundays read more

This establishment needs new management. I hate to even bring this up but this is how it stated. The manager tried to holla at me (the guy with the dreads) & I turned him down. He says I'm disrespectful but now every-time he see's me it's "this B" "that B".. I been back, try to joke around & he just continues to be rude. Management is not up to par & has no class or even cares about his guest. Ive seen people even complain to him & he just brushes things off as if the complains aren't relevant. Also, we bingo there ever wed. But have stopped because of the lack of respect. Managers are not only problem solvers but atleast can fake empathy for there guest. Apologize for inconvenience.. ect. This ego game he plays will be this place downfall... read more

I am extremely disappointed on a few things with this hookah bar. 1. You have to pay for parking 2. Once inside you seat yourself, however the wait staff is standing around when they should be taking your order, which leads you to the bar to place your hookah, drink and food orders. It's safe to say you are your own wait staff. Now the good thing is they usually have a drink special, it's best to get those as some as the plain drinks are priced ridiculous. Last night we ordered shots of casimigos and they were 21.50 each. That's a shame. And it wasnt an extra pour, the used the shot measuring tool You didn't get a drop extra likely less. So when did tequila shots start costing 21.50? They big tripping casimigos is nit expensive I hate to feel ripped off something about 21.50 for a tequila shot just didn't sit well with me. I can say I had no issues with the flavor of my hookah the few times I've been there, however lastnight I got a hookah that wasn't working properly and I had to wait a long time to get someone to check it out. After finally getting him he tells me it's working fine. I'm like it's not, you can't barely suck anything or blow smoke out. He wants to argue and then says he is coming back he doesn't return. I get the mgr or owners attention and ask for a refund or replacement and he did replace it. The energy was off on there and they no longer have to worry about getting my $ 21.50 for a shot of tequila , being my own waiter and staff wanting to tell me a clearly broken hookah wasn't was a bit much. We left there and went to 5015 got shots of casimigos they were 15.00 but it wasn't a measured exact pour we got way more bang for our bucks. Oh and the seats on uptown hookah aren't cool. Busted and disgusted!!!!! Barstools aren't comfortable either. I thought I liked this place as I'd been 4 times but no more. Many other places to go. read more
