I've shopped here many times and really like their items, which makes this even more disappointing to write. On multiple visits, I've noticed that I'm not acknowledged when I walk in or while shopping, while other customers--who appear to be of a different race--are greeted and helped right away. This has happened more than once, and it leaves a bad impression every time. No customer should feel overlooked or treated differently. I hope management takes this seriously and works on providing equal, respectful service to everyone. read more

Store personnel were polite and efficient in registering a first-time customer for cash appraisal: 17 pairs of women's and kids' shoes, all in good to like-new condition. Evaluation was quickly completed and reported by text message within an hour of drop off. Zero interest in purchasing any of the shoes. So, reviewer is unable to comment on whether appraised values are generous, or stingy, since none were offered. At time of writing (between Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026) the Strongsville location's floor display space is already jam-packed with clothing, footwear, and accessories; so unless an item is "designer label" or extraordinary, the business seems to have little motivation to purchase additional incoming items for the store inventory. It is important to be aware that if a customer is unable to return to the store for retrieval of items after assessment on the same day as drop off, Uptown Chespskate has the "legal" right to "confiscate" everything, with zero compensation to the owner -- all items immediately become their property. (Reviewer has no idea what happens if you phone store personnel and "beg" for an extension on retrieval tine beyond same-day.) The UC fine-print legal agreement displayed on the registration screen (no hard copy provided) has a requirement that the customer remain in the store while appraisal is being conducted, but apparently this is not enforced all the time. If it's not a major inconvenience to get to the UC Strongsville store, it may be worth having items appraised. However, odds of the experience being a waste of time seem high, unless you are attuned to what the store personnel consider to be "hot" (in high demand) items. read more

It's a nice concept and there is a lot of clothes. Since they buy and sell clothes I'm sure there will be times when you can find something that you like. They seem to cater to younger crowd which is absolutely great. I could not find anything that I liked at that moment. read more

This review is for the Strongsville location. If you seek customer service, skip this one! Rude staff at register on two separate occasions. One time, I purchased a top and showed it to my friend when we got to the car. She noticed a large hole on backside of the top that I didn't see when trying it on. I stepped back into store less than a minute after paying for it and their reply was, "Once you pay for it, you own it. You should tell us before you pay for it". OK, lesson learned. Next time I shopped, I found a top that was so cute that I was willing to do some mending if the price was right. It actually had safety pins up and down the sides because it was ripped along the seams of both sides. (Yes, I really liked the top to consider purchasing it in this condition). I pointed it out and asked for a discount to cover the damage and my time to mend it. They immediately removed ten safety pins and told me that the top was distressed and intentionally left torn. I showed them that the tears were uneven and fraying while no other seams on this top were distressed. Remember, I was told to present an issue before purchasing. They made the ridiculous claim that it wasn't damaged! They were likely the source of all the safety pins! I really can't tolerate their deception. I don't shop at the Strongsville location any longer due to the damaged goods that are not caught by the "quality control" methods they use. The Mayfield Hts location rates a 4 out of 5 star for having a better staff and far less damaged items. read more

I've seen tons of ads online for Uptown Cheapskate and how you can sell your clothes to get money, but that they're also a secondhand store! I went in looking forward to some great secondhand finds and I was quite impressed! All of their clothes are trendy and in great condition, most of them look brand new even! A few of their price tags are a bit crazy, but most of them are within a reasonable range. I managed to find a dress from Shein, and top from a random retailer, and a necklace for a total of $30! It was a great find! The staff were also very nice. Considering that I went on a weekend and a lot of people were selling their clothes so the staff were pretty busy, but they managed to keep up and at a steady pace too! I am truly upset to write this review because when this place first opened, i really did enjoy the business. I have sold , or attempted to, at this location a handful of times. Typically i opt for this place first because they USUALLY offer more money per piece than other resell stores. I am a teenage girl, I wear nike, gym shark, hollister, lululemon, altars state and more popular young adult brands. It has now been time and time again that they sort through my clothes, pick only one or two items, which isn't even a big problem because i can sell my items for more money than they would anyways so they're the only ones missing out. my issue is, they sold me 3 items for $10. So you claim to give more money than other resell stores and just bought $3.33 per piece.. alright.. My next issue, that i'm finding is quite a COMMON issue after reading reviews on Yelp and Google is the lack of customer care. Specifically, from the dark haired asian woman who works there. Every SINGLE time i have walked into that store, for buying, selling, or shopping, she gives the absolute nastiest look to me. I don't know if it's personal, but she refuses to acknowledge me or even say hi. she stares with a blank expression, sometimes even a rude one. To this girl, i truly hope the reason behind this is not because of customers or her job because she needs to find a new job if that's the case. Lastly, my personal issue that's specific to me is that they broke my basket i brought the clothes in, which i expect some sort of compensation for.As i unpacked the clothes leftover they conveniently gave me after i selected "Yes" to the donate option , don't know why you'd ask if you're going to ignore your customers. i noticed the handle was missing and was broken off of the laundry basket. While unpacking my clothes, i noticed it at the bottom of the container, which means they placed the broken handle back in the basket after breaking it and chose to say nothing to me once handing me the basket. I really did like this place once it opened but i am grossly disappointed with the state of it. read more

Don't get me wrong this place has good clothes but for selling clothes there it's a huge scam. almost all my clothes had tags and or where lightly worn and i bought this top for 80 dollars and i gave it to them with the tag i have never worn it and they gave me 5 dollars from it. I understand they take 75% off of initial price and then give you 3 % of it but when you do the math correctly i should not be left over with 5 dollars. very disappointing. read more

If you're selling high-end items, I'd suggest taking it elsewhere. I'm not certain if they're fully versed and trained to spot high-end items, but their low pay-out offer was an insult. In addition, it was a very tiring and long wait for them to check over just 7 items. I wouldn't recommend anyone coming here. read more

Don't sell your clothes here they totally rip you off. I got $60 for 18 items. Including a dress that is currently being sold for $58, it's brand new with tags and I got $4 for it. Even if you take in trendy name brands (nike, champion, lululemon, brandy melville, urban outfitters, etc) you really won't make much money. The staff is also not friendly or welcoming. read more
