This is the best thrift store around. We always find great stuff, and it's great for both my teenage daughter and me!

Shopping at uptown is always fun! You never know what you'll find but there's always something good such as lululemon, athletica, free people, urban outfitters, zara, etc. the bathrooms are always clean and the dressing rooms have a place to sit and also plenty of hooks to hang clothes. i like their locations downtown and in murray but haven't yet visited their sugarhouse one. check them out! read more

My husband and I decided to check out this thrift store from several friends suggestions and we loved it!!! Staffs are pretty nice. They were busy but they still spent time to help and answer my questions. We will definitely go back, maybe earlier during the day so we can look more. The staff is friendly and will take all of those clothes out of your arms and start a fitting room for you. When I tried to sell there, they didn't take very much.... But, I understand. Of all the UCs I've been to in the Salt Lake area this one is by far the BEST! Their selections are huge and they always have great promotions or sales. Came for the summer sale today and me and my friend are walking out with a ton of goodies. They also have the best resale I've experienced so far. Employees here are so rude. Literally told me I could take my stuff to Pluto's closet if I want. If you don't want my business you clearly showed it. Also the process here is brutal. If you want to sell your clothes here be prepared to wait in the store for hours. And if you drop your stuff off and leave they push you to the end of the day. Then if you don't pick up your clothes by 7pm they automatically donate it. The employees would not even let you walk out the doors. So you're stuck in the store waiting. If you ask if your order is almost done they act as if you are a bother to them. If you are willing to wait for your clothes to be looked through tagged and organized or you are able to pick them up before 7pm then you will have no issue. read more

I moved to Utah just over a year ago and I haven't really found a place that I love to shop at. This uptown cheapstake in Murray is the freaking best. Not only do they actually look at your clothes when selling (they bought almost all my clothes!) the clothes and selection there was very impressive. Visiting utah and on my last day i was like maybe i should go thrifting... i'm glad i did. so much selection and i thought the prices were fair. i got an urban outfitters dress, brandy sweatpants, brandy curodory pants and a lulu bra each item under 15$ decently organized and staff were nice. definitely a nicer thrift store read more

There only ever have one person to check out while 3 people are putting clothes away and one buying and sorting clothes that come in This place only lets u take 7 items To try on and makes u leave the rest at the front seat so u have to get dressed and come out to get them. while sugar house let's u hang them outside ur door I think south Jordon is the best of all. They have fast check out and allow u to take more than 7 in at a time. read more

I don't frequent second handstores, but I've been to several and have generally not been particularly impressed. But Uptown Cheapskate surprised me. It is clean, very clean in fact, and well organized. The men's area could be a little better organized, if I'm being honest, but it is a secondhand store after all and not a department store, so I'll have to give them some leniency. I've sold items twice now and they always buy a few things from me. It usually takes them 20 minutes or so to go through my things so I do some shopping while I wait. When you sell items if you opt for store credit you'll get more bang for your buck, so I do that and then try and find something in the store that I like. Their men's section is pretty small. It seems to be only about 1/3 of the store. So there is a lot more clothing available in the women's section. Prices are reasonable (sometimes downright cheap) and the selection and condition of the clothing is good. Most clothes appear to be new or in like new condition. Staff is friendly and helpful. read more

I have always loved this place until I went in yesterday for one of their $1 sale events. Long story short they were buying back clothes while they only had two registers open for paying customers and I ended up waiting in line for 45 MINUTES! The staff is friendly. The store is clean and well organized. The reason for the three stars is that the quality of items has gone down. I feel like it has a more Pluto's closet vibe w the type of stuff they sell. If I wanted teen trends I'd go to Pluto's. They used to have great pieces by loft, jcrew, banana. Maybe there isn't enough demand for classic old lady pieces. Maybe everyone wants to be forever 21. I miss the old days of this store. I don't like a lot of the stuff they buy now. read more

I come here pretty often and they have cute clothing however You do have to look for it. So don't rush if you're coming in. I do recommend coming during the morning or day. There aren't a lot of people and you can check out faster. During the evenings they only have one person at the check out so it can take a while to check out so keep that in mind. read more

Have shopped here for years. Dropped a decorative garbage can full of trendy/in style clothes of all kinds, some of which still had the tags on that I had gotten this summer. Several hours later I got the email saying my clothes were done being sorted. For about 20+ items of clothing they offered me $10. Bothered by my effort at this point, I went in the next day to find that they had thrown my container (which is worth more than double of what they offered me for my clothes ) out with the donation pile of my clothes without notifying me. No one apologized or seemed to be bothered, just made me out to be the idiot. Ilthey didn't even give me the 10$. Super bugged, seeing as I have spent hundreds of dollars with them. I love this uptown cheapskate location! Some of the best shoes I own came from here and were brand new and should have been 200$. Being In college it's hard to dress well for cheap and this is my secret! I would recommend to all my friends since it's environmentally friendly. I have found a decent amount of stuff here, however for selling I've never had any luck here! The first time I sold stuff they forgot about me while I was having my stuff looked through as shopping. I had to have been shopping over an hour when I went up to the front to ask them if they'd looked through it and they said it'd be done for a long time! Not only that but they didn't buy anything. The store was packed with stuff though so I figure they must be set with their inventory. They'll do different deals here sometimes but 3 get 1 free on the cheapest item. Don't forget to ask about a stamp card because unless you have one or ask for one they won't remember to ask you! read more

They have a huge selection of second-hand women's shirts and jeans, with a good mix of skirts, dresses, shoes, etc. They have a pretty big men's selection too.
