I especially decided to shop here because it happened to be less than a mile away where I was for a function. And...I had checked out their menu online! This was the only place in the area where I could get brands I have been looking for. I was completely pleased with whole experience at Upstate Canna. Plenty of parking in front of the store. Pleasant check-in. Layout utilizes space efficiently so you can view products. Tremendous selection of flower and prices to fit every budget. many other products to choose from as well. I was very pleased with the prices on what I bought. Jeremy, my budtender was pleasant (as was Joe, lol) and knowledgeable about what I purchased. Overall, this was a great first-time experience. As a veteran of visiting six state's worth of dispensaries, I have had many good, some mediocre, and flat-out poor experiences (just a few). I arrived at around 10am on a Friday to check out the first legally licensed by NYS upstate cannabis dispensary. Very exciting! Not counting drive time, the entire process from line to purchase took 30 minutes. I overheard that the wait time is much longer after lunchtime. While the obvious reason for this is supply versus demand (one legal dispensary in the area), there are some other best practices I have seen used at other dispensaries that I think Upstate Canna should adopt: 1: A preorder process. I've ordered online at other dispensaries and they text me the information to present with my ID at the door upon arrival and that gets me into the express in and out lane. 2: Merch. There is a smoke shop and a candy shop down the street from Upstate Canna. Yet they have a entire space where folks just check in and wait on a u shaped booth. That is prime real estate to add snacks and pipes and such. 3: The check in person didn't know what was on the menu. There was a big screen sort of power point but if people are just going to sit around for 30 minutes waiting to buy, consider having a menu for them to look at while they wait or even just a QR code they can scan that pulls up the current online menu where they can... order ahead and pay to save time. Additionally, while they smartly had two atm machines on site, neither worked. Which is a obvious issue that I recognize they have only so much control over but, they're taking up space and not working which would suck for anyone needing to get cash to make a purchase. The above stuff being updated would bump stars up to 4-5 later for me. At the moment, they are the only legal shop in town so it isn't a big deal and easy to overlook but competing dispensaries will inevitably arrive.l and compete for my business. That was the needs work stuff that dropped them from a 5 to a 3 star. Now to talk about the good stuff! Customer service was friendly. From the check in to the sale. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable (except check in guy who was just friendly). I learned that Upstate Canna is going to be implementing a delivery service which is absolutely fantastic! Assuming they end up having a location close enough to me in Colonie for it to be used eventually I will. Product seemed pretty good but I need to do some more research over the weekend :) They have a good selection of local flower and vape blends. Even pre rolls and tinctures. Though the tincture selection was a bit limited it was still better than some places I've been. At the end of the day, if they can get their transaction time down to less time than it takes me to drive to MA and pick up my order (currently that is 48 minutes) and they make good choices about capitalizing on their first mover advantage in the region to adopt best practices, I am very optimistic that this local business will thrive and that I will be visiting again! read more

this may be a small shop, but it has a big selection and tons of options. The staff is super helpful and always make you feel comfortable. I'm a big preroll fan, I like being able to try new things without a huge price commitment, and this place has the huge selection of single pre-rolls. right now on the menu, there is a selection of at least 12-15 one gram pre rolls under 10$ they also have a few one gram pre rolls for 7$ and sometimes they even have 5$ 1 gram prerolls. They are hands down the best priced dispensary in the entire capital District. I would say that their prices are 10 to 20% cheaper than every other dispensary. One product they sell is a P3, 2 gram blunt for 24$ ... every other dispensary in the capital District that sells this exact same product is charging anywhere between 40 and $50 The thing I love with this place is the don't sell a ridiculous amount of .5 gram prerolls for 10-15$ A lot of places do that...when this place does full grams for cheaper. My only gripe is with electraleaf. It's crappy weed that's over priced EVERYWHERE you go. 16$ for 15-17% thc...for junk weed with an unnecessary glass tip That just ups the price. I wish growers would package their stuff simple so the prices go down. i think dispensaries should pressure growers into more quality cheaper. If they don't, who will? Been 3x. Purchase is supposed to be 22.60 but when I looked at my bank before the 3rd time, it appears they charged me over $30 each time. On my 3rd visit it was explained that they have to round up on their system so it will charge over but they give cash back. I didn't receive any cash back on my first 2 visits and advised them that when I hit the transfer button, the amount was 22.60. But it didn't matter because those previous 2 visits were weeks before. But even at that 3rd visit, the amount in cash I received was short 3.75. At this point I'm not sure if they are actively running a scam or if it's just that they are overworked, maybe they're putting cash in the wrong slots and are then giving out incorrect change in error. But I think it's safer just to take the trip to mass to avoid any any type of escalation. read more

The service in this place was horrendous, the cashier that helped me and my wife must of waken up in the wrong side of the bed because we felt rushed, didn't even tell us to have a look around the store, just showed me the tablet with what "she thought was good to smoke" overall the weed and pens aren't bad. read more

My first time buying and having it delivered. I was impressed at first, the buying on line was kinda easy, the product was on point, the delivery was fast. I even gave them a great review on line. Upon weighing it at home ( I have two scales) both eighths weighed in at 2.75, but if you include the "BOOST" humidity pack inside the jar it weighed perfect. UNBELIEVABLE, that is New York for you. So I basically paid approx $118 for a quarter and was shorted 1.5 grams. Which on the street isn't so bad, but when you're paying premium amounts, definitely not good. It works out to be a little over $25, i was ripped off. I will try one more time with them. Maybe its a mistake.....IMO, I worked at CANNAPROVISIONS in Lee, MA, this would never occur there. I have been now a few times. What some people don't seem to understand, is that it's the first legitimate place in upstate NY. Everyone wants to go and or order online. It's also only been open maybe 2 months. I work 12 hr days, so I'm grateful for the long hours they are open. Everyone who works there has been nothing but nice, knowledgeable, and givin me nothing but great service. My main issue that I have with them is their delivery tracking. Their website goes right to delivered status when ordering. No way to tell whether it was delivered to someone else or not until they call you a few hours later... after it was said to it was delivered. Other than that, I have no complaints. The operation has been streamlined since opening. I like that i can walk to a dispensary, consult with knowledgeable and FRIENDLY staff and walk out with a safe & quality product. To start I have been smoking for the past 4 years now and have been to many dispensaries in different states (Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, Nevada, Arizona) and within New York. I have never experienced a more disorganized system and team, not for nothing this place has almost been open for a year and the other dispensaries that are popping up around the state after them, have a better system down, when it comes to organization and customer service. Went at 2pm on a Saturday, had to wait outside (????) in line, which I have never experienced unless going upon open/grand opening. The staff members, especially their door man, are the most disrespectful people to deal with. When in contrast EVERY OTHER dispensary I've been to in my life time has been nothing but an absolute joy with profound customer service. The door man even kicked out a very nice young man who was wondering the same as I, the length and wait of their lines. Don't even dare asking them to customer service you bc apparently you'll get kicked out. (This is coming from a manager in customer service). This place is truly a joke. If you want a real dispensary experience, take your business across the river to "Stage One Dispensary" 810 Broadway, Rensselaer, 12144. I was never into CBD cuz I didn't find it to be very effective for me, but a friend introduced me to BHANG's MOTA GDP Straights cigarettes which are pure CBD flower, no nicotine or tobacco, and 0.3% THC. They are incredible. You get the mildest relaxed high smoking them and I fell in love. As far as I can tell, Upstate CBD is the only local place that sells them!
