I decided on giving up gluten for Lent this year…read more Gluten is the new bad boy in the health food world. The naughty neighbor in the starch village. It's very fashionable to hate gluten right now and hater be hatin'. I sometimes give up beer, so taking the next step to gluten should be an interesting prospect. Having Somebody Upstairs keeping an eye on me, it makes it easy not to deviate. As a newly minted glutard, I had to find substitutes and how. Luckily for me Uncle Sams's is just up the road. The have a full line of gluten free products and it's actually not that hard to make when you have them on your side. I really don't like the term gluten free. I don't want to avoid something by having to say it all the time. It's like begging for the things you hate. You don't see real estate agents calling communities "crack whore free". They say "lovely neighborhood" Anyway, a pleasant byproduct of being dietary choice empowered is that I just cant get processed shit from fast food places. I used to stop at DD to get a egg sandwich sometimes, or a wrap from Buckaroos, but I just cant do that any more. I also cant have sandwiches, so I'm eating a lot more salads. It's been a week and I really don't feel any different, but I don't really care, I'm having fun.

The guys behind the counter answered all my questions, offered suggestions, and even made sure that I had an account with them. The shop is very modern looking with plants and menu TVs and they even have dog treats for your animal! I can't wait to go by again and try their bubble tea options. Only suggestion I have is playing some music and listing out the flavors in the menu- otherwise a 10/10 experience.

She laughed in my face telling me i was "too poor" to afford her vitamins. Maybe she was having a bad day i told myself .So months later i stopped in again. I asked the receptionist how much the large bottle cost compared to the small (34 vs 84). I am disabled and have post-concussion syndrome so I don't always remember the order of events or…read moreevents have even happen. I also because of a few (not at fault) auto accidents I have severe pain in my entire part of my body and every limb. I've had 5 surgeries not including the manual flipping back over of my liver where it was stuck for 8 months and I couldn't even stand up straight. I can't hold my arms at my side and press and release with out falling over nearly passing out from debilitating pain. I haven't done my hair in 9 years I have a disabled sticker hanger over my mirror the farthest one away incase someone comes who is more disabled than I am.. my hips will only last another 10 years. So when people call for help in customer service, there is a reason why. I am appalled at the horrible customer service this chain on Wolf Rd in Albany NY. I have been a customer for years and they are always quick to get people in and out so they can get back to chatting and they always do the security check when u get there ''can I help u find anything I was in customer service worked for an international corporation a municipality prior to that. I even started out in retail at the mall.. but these ladies kind of gave me an attitude when I asked if someone could help me. I asked (in lieu of respect to a law suit they would have had if I got it myself because I have poor equilibrium and a tendency to fall.) The woman said to me oh there is a step over here (it was heavy and I wouldn't be able to move it). She's like well I'm not sure if I can get on it either. Shouldn't that be a part of the job description?so long story short I let the rude behavior slide down my back. But IMAGINE THIS. You come home your home and realize your engagement ring gone!I called after I was just there AN HOUR before they can't remember me after an hour and I was wearing a very distinct outfit with a posh hat and a sephora black and white bubble mask (I am a regular customer) and was wondering if maybe their brains could concentrate on anything than talking to one an other, as that is all they do when you are there.. feeling like the third wheel in their convo. Well maybe it's just the age difference but I was curious to see if they could help or remember me wearing a piece of jewlery, and believe me this you would notice! I WAS MAKING AN INQUIRY on how to find out if they remember me wearing or somewhere my ring came off in my glove and fell.. I was just looking for help in tracing some steps to find my engagement ring and the lady treated me like I was a piece of dirt and after she treated me like that.. Another more authoritive woman got on the phone and told me there is no cameras on the registers so they wouldn't be able to tell If I was wearing my ring or not and might as well as said to me ''your a piece of dirt''. I WAS LOOKING FOR MY ENGAGEMENT RING! Have some compassion.. They were like no nobody has been in we didn't see anything. THIS IS THE PART OF CUSTOMER SERVICE WHERE YOU ASK THE REGULAR CUSTOMER THEIR NAME AND NUMBER INCASE IT COMES UP. SHE JUST SAID ''WE HAVE NO CAMERAS UP FRONT''. The selections of vitamins and supplements, dried herbs, and dried fruits/nuts/etc., covered all the basics and a bit beyond. But there were also several completely empty areas in the store, and I'm not sure what was supposed to be in those spots. I also got a discount on my supplements. I had a hard time finding certain things that I like to have on hand such as vegan marshmallows. I do not want to eat regular marshmallows since they contain gelatin which is made from animal hides, boiled crushed bones, and the connective tissues of cows and pigs. I find this process absolutely repulsive and stopped eating gelatin long before I chose a vegan lifestyle. When I began my search for better options, I stumbled upon this unique spot in Clifton Park. Green grocer always has Dandies marshmallows and also Enjoy Life vegan rice milk chocolate bars. I get these to make s'mores. I can always count on this great store to have many wonderful specialty options for people with special dietary needs and for people choosing to eat different diets or are concerned with the ethics of the factory farming industry. They do have meat and dairy options from carefully selected farms. I don't know a lot about it since I don't eat it but I would imagine these are better options than conventional grocery store meat. I'd encourage anyone to check out this great store. It's not far from exit 8A in Clifton park, south of Walmart in the same plaza as Nonna Maria's. It is wonderful to support local small business while also discovering things that you won't find at conventional grocery stores.
