UPS - Shipping Centers Near Me - Oakland, California

The package left on the 12th of June from a vendor on the East Coast and got to Oakland UPS on the 17th. I then had to ask about the package everyday. On Monday I will go wait like everyone else to get my package. UPS should stop accepting packages as they can't deliver. I understand COVID-19 response but this is crazy and need more publicity. FedEx and USPS are better options! Also it impossible to get ahold of a live person at UPS. read more

UPS - Evidence of UPS failure - Shipping Centers Near Me - Oakland, California

Add me to the list of people who have been frustrated to amazing heights by this blackhole! My package arrived at this horrible place in Oakland on June 22 and then was set to be delivered 4 straight days just to have the date pushed into the next day. Much like everyone else here, I then called UPS Customer Care (what a joke) who told me my package was lost. I then attempted to file a claim, but was unable to do so because the package was not actually lost (stated to me by a supervisor on Customer Care - an even bigger joke who UPS designates as a "supervisor"). I then asked another rep to have the package returned to me to which a "Hold for pickup" was then put on my package instead. Only issue is that this CRITICAL package was out for repair in Oakland and I live in New Jersey. I was then told by UPS on two separate occasions that I would receive a phone call with regard to this problem; however, this still has yet to occur. Most recently, I filed a formal complaint against this Oakland branch and multiple supervisors on Customer Care. The image is the email response I received. For some reason, I have no faith that this will be rectified. I just want my package back at this point and will never use UPS again if I have a choice in the matter. read more

UPS - Barely intelligible response from UPS Customer Care. - Shipping Centers Near Me - Oakland, California

They delivered three of my other packages to my door, except one I've been waiting on for two weeks. I scheduled to have that picked up. They told me over the phone it would be processed and ready for pickup Monday 7/6. It's now Wednesday and it still isn't processed. Called again today and they told me the package is missing. Not sure how it's missing when it was last at the hub. I asked could it still be there somewhere? They said maybe.... Ugh. Honestly, you're best bet is to contact whatever merchant/seller you're buying from and ask them to not deliver through UPS. I ended up reordering my item at no additional cost and requesting a different shipping carrier, which they obliged. UPS is bullshit. Fucking incompetent. read more

I have never had any big issues with UPS even during the Pandemic up until now. The poor delivery service I am experiencing with UPS is unacceptable. My package continues to be delayed for delivery, more than two days. I still have not received my package. Its obvious customer satisfaction is not a priority for UPS. Unacceptable! read more

If I had to choose the lowest of the low places and the last place I would want to go it is this place. You know the scene from zooptopia when they go in the dmv? yeah.... I pride myself in printing my labels, pre-paying online, thinking oh this should be an easy drop off...It took 30 minutes with only 1 person in front of me in line to ship A PRE PAID package. Avoid this place if you can, schedule a pickup at your house, if your here picking up a package the line was pissed! Wait for a 2nd attempt delivery if you can. read more

Still stupid after all these years. I offered to bring my grandchildren to explain to the morons how to read a label and then deliver the package to the name and address on the label. The only 5 star review for these fools is probably by a family member or a UPS driver himself. read more

These 5 stars are for MONIQUE! She killed it! Somebody give her a promotion. I was in desperate need of help after 4 of my packages had gone missing for several days and she was able to track them down for me. Let me tell you, she went ABOVE and BEYOND! As far as UPS, I am quite displeased. I learned that they placed a "curfew" of 5:30 pm for my neighborhood which is preposterous and insane. I've never had any packages stolen and never had any issues- neither have my neighbors, who are all ordinary working class friendly people. Also, it couldn't possibly be a driver safety issue because no one is dumb enough to assault a driver or steal packages from ups. I find it very frustrating and discriminatory that this policy is in place for my neighborhood in East Oakland. I think this needs to be changed. Or at least have drivers prioritize our deliveries for the morning instead of neglecting them day after day and claiming that an "emergency situation" is taking place that is making the package undeliverable. Anyways, it's the summer, and maybe my usual driver is on vacation and it will all be all good again sometime soon -- I miss you regular driver! Anyways...Thanks again Monique & sorry for any stress I may have caused. I owe you a drink. :) read more

UPS in my area is the bane of my existence. Any time I have a package being delivered by UPS, they don't even get out of the truck. I watch them stop outside the my house then I get an update that my package was undeliverable, then they drive away. Then I have to spend a week dealing with customer service because after that no-one seems to know where that package is. Is it at the customer center? Is it on a truck? Who knows! I get deliveries all the time. Amazon, USPS, FEDEX, even doordash. I don't understand how you can be a business with such terrible customer service. read more

I've been saving my first 1-star review for an especially horrible business- the day has finally arrived. I missed the ups delivery and thought 'no big deal, the website says I can pick it up directly from their Oakland location.' Little did I know that the location is next to Oakland airport, a 15 minute drive away. Then I get here, and there is a crazy line that wraps around literally 3 times (check picture i uploaded). And this is at 9pm! It's about 57 degrees and the automatic door keeps sliding open and closed letting in ball-shrinking gusts of wind every 5 seconds. I will never miss another ups package again. read more

UPS - Line wraps around 3 times it's freezing cold this place sucks !! - Shipping Centers Near Me - Oakland, California

01/06/17, The driver claims he came to deliver my item, i checked the cameras he nvr came, and online said pick up next day at access point, next day went by still no package came, I called UPS they checked with station, they said item is still at station the driver forgot the item. I had chat with UPS for this station to me call since 12pm now its 7pm no one called me. This place needs new management and new stafff. This is the worst ups center ever. They lost my item, I requested 5 times for them To call me no one did. They clam they came to the address to deliver, but when I check my camera, no ups truck came during the time they claim. The people who work here are so lazy and mad really take their time, and don't care about Their customers at all. They don't even deserve 1 star. If only yelp had -1. I went in today 12/17/16 to get my item, this lady asked me to write my tracking number down on a pic of paper, I said I can't cuz. I have a sprain in my hand. She tell me me no that's not her job, and she can't help me since I can't write the tracking number down and went on her way to help the next person in line. Someone else came and helped me. Maybe that's why your guys reviews are also bad. Everyone works just like DMV. They really don't care about you or your items. All I am saying is if ups management is reading reviews on yelp talk to your staff and put some sense in them. I posted her two pictures read more

It's clear I'm beating a dead horse, but in the slim chance someone with any power can read this, I hope they make some changes. How many things can go wrong with one shipment? If it's through UPS, a lot. A month ago I attempt to ship two boxes of items with dry ice by next day air. Both are returned to my address the next morning because I did not write on the box the contents of what I was shipping. The attendant who helped me also did not know this was required. Annoying, but I can accept it since I assume that the protocol regarding shipping with hazardous material is not well known because it's rare. By the way, they don't have a phone number at their Customer Centers, so I return to ask for a refund of the $250 I spent for a shipment they never made. The guys working there tell me to call the 1800 number. Which 1800 number they don't know - all they know is that they can't issue refunds and that there exists somewhere in the ether a number I can call. I leave, crestfallen. I stumble on a phone number that starts with those four magical numbers and navigate the labyrinth of automated selections on a number I'm guessing is the right line, only to reach a woefully inept lady who takes fifteen minutes to admit to me that UPS is "currently not offering refunds" because they are backed up. Still needing to ship out my items, I return, like a desperate gambler hoping to hit it big with his last ten bucks. This time, they're out of the labels I need to indicate that I'm shipping a hazardous material. This experience had so many pain points, it's absurd. Short this company to oblivion. read more

I don't blame them for the covid situation but take a look at this photo. This is crazy, there has to be a way to shorten this line down and to get things moving quicker. Good thing I went with time in my hands because it took me exactly 1 hour and 30 minutes to get my package that I didn't not receive for 8 days straight due to them not being able to get it on a truck. read more

I can give so many negative stars if I could. I stood at the pick-up by myself, for at least 5 minutes while the staff (an older African American man and woman) clearly saw me and would rather eat Oreos than assist me. Then, finally an older African American lady came in and immediately, the man went to assist her. He turns to me and asked if I've been helped when he clearly saw me walk in. Another young lady came around the corner and proceeded to help me. The man went back into the room while the older African American lady started laughing and pointing at me because he went to assist the other customer and not me. Completely unprofessional and racist. read more

I've never had any problems with UPS until I moved to the Oakland area. My neighbors had been complaining that their packages had been stolen at Christmas and UPS is not entirely off the hook for these happenings. The UPS driver on my neighborhood route knows about packages being stolen off our front doors. He is the one who told me this in person. For some odd reason instead of leaving a note for pick up at the UPS office, he still leaves packages at the front door. This makes no sense and I don't understand why this has not been taken care of. I finally ended up calling the manager at this location and told her directly to sign me up as a signature required customer. This types of situations make me wonder if people don't know how to do their job or just don't care to do it correctly. I love UPS, but not this particular location, because of their lack of communication and customer service. I know for a fact that they could do much better and I only hope that things change in the near future. read more

Can I put 0 stars? 6 times in 6 months I've had packages showing they were on the truck for delivery and then at 9pm have UPS say there was a problem or an emergency to delay the package. It's pretty obvious that the driver decides he's done for the day and doesn't deliver the packages. I just had this happen twice to the same package when the weather is sunny and 70 degrees. Did two delivery drivers die while delivering? I doubt it. It doesn't matter whether it's ground or express. They don't discriminate. Please don't ship UPS to Oakland. I will no longer use UPS. THIS IS COMPLETE BS!! As the rest of the reviews show. This is not an isolated incident. read more

UPS - Shipping Centers Near Me - Oakland, California

I could get my package in time because of the supervisor named 'Ron' and the security guard in the Oakland ups hub who was courteous enough to understand the situation and go get the package from the truck. Cannot thank them enough. If not for them this place is zero stars. The customer care staff doesn't understand the urgency or how important the package is! Even though late delivery fault was on UPS. Their customer service never helped! read more

Has UPS improved at all since my last negative experience? Of course not. I ordered materials from a vendor that were promptly sent. After arriving at the Oakland hub the shipment was listed as "Out for Delivery" three consecutive days before then sitting back "In Transit" for a week. After back and forth with sender and UPS, UPS finally admitted that they lost the shipment...all 41 pounds of it! Then came the replacement shipment. "Out for Delivery" two days in a row followed by a prompt return to sender with no actual attempted deliveries. Magically, original package is found, went "Out for Delivery" one day and now it sits back "In Transit " again. Over a month later, two shipments, no actual attempted deliveries. Will UPS ever improve delivery efficiency or customer relations? Highly doubt it. All I can do is document their continuing incompetence. If you ever need to receive shipment that is time critical please ask your vendors if the can offer alternate shipping options. read more

What is happening? They just stopped delivering packages with no explanation? They update the shipping info daily to show that it is "in transit" but it never makes it to you. Their website says delays are due to the "demonstrations" yet all other delivery companies are managing just fine. Also, they have no live customer service right now which they are also blaming on Covid, which doesn't add up as most companies are able to offer customer service remotely. Basically, there is nothing you can do about the fact that they're not delivering packages. read more

I have dealt with incompetent companies and none beats this. For 16 days in a row, they set their status as out for delivery and at night they changed it to delayed to next day because of severe weather (looks like sunny 70 degrees is too much to handle for UPS workers) . Good luck calling them, because after 5 minutes of pressing numbers and dealing with a horrible voice recognition system, they say phone customer service is not available because of covid-19 (I didn't know viruses transmits through cellphones). You can call other departments and find your way to tracking system and thats where they say "we don't know where your package is but I talked to (put a name here) and she/he said it will be delivered tomorrow". Then same story the next day.... After more then two weeks of calling, one of them said your only solution is to file a loss claim. I filed a loss claim and 5 days later they acknowledged on their website that its lost. Their solution: We don't deal with you in lost situations, go figure it out with your shipper. So I had to spend another couple of hours on the phone with home depot to get my money back. read more

This is the worst shipping company around. We have been waiting for our package for almost 3 weeks now. I called and was told since my package was not considered "essential" that it could not be delivered. So we did the next best thing- pick up a package we paid shipping and delivery for!! Granted they delivered the tiny swing from our non delivered small play set for our 2 year old twins. I get non essential packages from Target, Fed Ex, Amazon all the time. I will be telling the company selling these gym sets not to use UPS if they want a good review from other customers. Or is it just the Oakland/San Leandro locations that are horrible?? They don't seem to want to deliver bigger packages - horrible horrible!!! Called today again and was told my part 2 package is in San Leandro! They can't deliver it again!!! UPS sucks!!! read more

I am in UPS purgatory. I have had a package scheduled for delivery since Wednesday of last week. Every day I am told it will arrive. It never does. There is no possible way to talk to a person. The lockers never save time or work better than a human who can actually get you your package without 20-30 minutes of wasted time and bullshit. So, last week I make an order from Amazon and they send it UPS. Great. Friday comes along (I'm at home) and I get an email indicating package delivered. Check my front porch, no package. Search around my complex, no package. Call UPS and have a multitude of problems as the automated section doesn't seem to understand the numbers I say, nor will understand them when I used the phone pad to enter them. Then sent into a loop where it says I'll talk to a representative but instead hangs up on me. Wait 48 hours and contact Amazon and get a refund. Reorder. Again Amazon send it to me via UPS and literally the above happens again where I'm sitting my couch next to my front door and get an email saying "Delivered", check front porch area, no package go out to check area and see truck at street driving away. Yell for them to stop, they keep driving, I'm now sprinting after them for 2 block and they won't stop. Can't keep up. Go home get in car and try to find em (Cant), come home and go threw the same mess again as above.
