UPS has successfully delivered 100s of items to my home, and for that I say thank you! But the other day, UPS delivered my package to the wrong house. The proof of delivery photo wasn't my home. I called UPS, and the agent made it worst by saying the pkg was only 60 feet away. So I went out looking for it. One block in all directions, there's no house like that . The UPS agent said a driver would go get it and deliver it to me. 24-hours later, nothing. I once again filed a complaint for non- delivery, and talked to an agent. She said for me to just order another one. Huh? Two days later, a kind person comes to my door and says " this pkg came to my house, are you ______?" Well, thank you! My package was delivered to a house two blocks away. read more

I really really wanted to leave UPS a good review, but unfortunately as usual you have delivery drivers that could care less about their job and the company that they work for. I contacted UPS a few days ago to send a message to the driver that our elevator is out of service and to please call when they arrive and deliver to my front door of mt apartment. The driver did follow instructions with regard to the call box, but just tossed the package on the floor of the mailroom, instead of walking up a few stairs to deliver it to me at my door. And then he set the delivery as delivered to my door, when in fact it was not. Additionally, the box was partially opened. The tape barely sealed on the box. Someone did look at it. I know the original shipper did not ship it in such a disarray. UPS definitely doesn't fail to disappoint. I am hoping for a day when I can leave a more positive review, however, in the more than 15yrs I have had to deal with this company, its sad to say I dont have more positive feedback for people reading these reviews. A picture is worth a thousand words... read more

The UPS drivers should be taught how to park when making a delivery. Too frequently UPS trucks park in the middle of narrow streets blocking traffic in both directions. This evening after being delayed for a lengthy period of time the driver returned and said, "Sorry about that sir". Somehow his perfunctory apology did not make up for the 15-minute delay. If he had pulled forward 16 feet, he would not have blocked the street. UPS sucks I paid for 2day air for the package to arrive 4/4/25 tell me why it's still sitting at the Atlanta Hub. First they told me it wasn't delivered because they thought the school was closed for spring break now that they know it's not talking about due to the weather it won't be delivered until 4/15/25. That's way too late and not a person there care. Very bad customer service at the hub and the 800#. I could've just used the regular post office for that date. And to top it off they said no refunds with 2nd day air what type of mess is that. Bet I won't use them for personal or business use again. Dont use them they not good at all. read more

I wouldn't think a business could be so consistently poor in the only service the supposedly specialize in. I would say most of the failures with ups I have experienced have been directly related to ups Oakland. I never willingly choose ups as my shipper. I often times have no choice when ordering products from another company. If that company has options I choose the option every time over ups. I know that the service from a shipper to Oakland ups is great but once it hits the Oakland hub it's a horrid tangle of misinformation, false shipping attempts, cover ups and everything else that needs to be done to keep up the appearance that this company is one with integrity. You consistently loose, damage, delay my shipments. This time you have lost a 401k check! You are a mess as a company when it comes to the final leg of getting the item into the hands of the consignee. I know you will never read this but if I can convince one person to not trust you then you don't ever need to read this. read more

UPDATE: After waiting 24 hours to file a claim on the two "delivered" packages, they found them both still with UPS and one has since been delivered. The tracking summary is an interesting read with two "delivered" dates and a fake "signature received". Summary: Took UPS Oakland two weeks to fake deliver my packages to a stranger's address two blocks over. After over two weeks of the package leaving for delivery each morning and returning to the hub, they finally updated the status as "delivered", but "proof of delivery" link shows it was delivered to the wrong address at 10:49 at night. This was 5 minutes after they entered a status update that it would be delayed for delivery until the exit day. The street they dropped it off at is two streets over and doesn't even share the address numbers as my place. I spoke to the guy there and he said there were no packages delivered to him. I believe him, especially since it would have been at almost 11 at night and they had just scanned that it'd be delayed until tomorrow. I originally thought they just knowingly dumped the boxes there to get them out of their vehicle. But after talking to the family who lived there I fully believe UPS just switched the status and kept the packages or tossed them. I feel very bad for the overwhelming situation they're in, but after two weeks of being understanding and patient (which isn't ENTIRELY in my nature), a fake status saying it was delivered to the wrong address in the middle of the night was just ridiculous. 1ZR195V40340050974 (two weeks in and out of Oakland hub, then "delivered" at 10:49pm to wrong address) 1Z15V04E0368872544 read more

I have 6 packages missing in action with UPS OAKLAND, one of the packages is 4 weeks overdue!!! TO ALL: COMPLAIN to the SELLER, it is their responsibility to get you your package within the time frame paid for or agreed to, UPS was contracted by the seller. Do not bother with the drones at UPS they don't care. Pick up the phone and express your displeasure with the SELLER so they do not use UPS ever again!!!! (MOST IMPORTANTLY...demand a refund from the seller for the items you have not received, when UPS has to pay for these "lost"/DELAYED packages they will feel our pain.) read more

Similar experience to the all the other 1 star reviews. Took forever for them to even SCAN that it was in Oakland (it arrived in Oakland on the 10th, and wasn't destination scanned until the 15th?), and now it's just stuck somewhere in the hub. Cannot get an actual human on the phone, and nothing is being updated online. I understand delays, with everything going on, but the utter lack of communication/customer service is insane. I just want my package!!! EDIT: Just received an email instructing me to file a lost package claim. So, I went to file a claim on my phone, and the website crashed on the last step. UPS did not help me today. Such a frustrating situation I have to deal with, on top of a stressful day. I was busy at work, and cannot sign for my package which was delivered at my place already. So the delivery guy said that I will have to meet at 8400 Purdee Drive to pick up my package. I'm like whatever find, I can try to be flexible. I said I can pick up the package after work. The phone call was around 2pm, and I finish work at 2:30pm. So then, I drove to the pick up location. I went and told the lady that works there I'm here to pick up my package and showed her the tracking number. She went back to look for it. Then she tells me the package is not there yet because the delivery guy is still out till 8pm, and then said I would be to come back tomorrow after 1:40pm to pick up the package. I had NO NOTIFICATION about this, not even from my email. Very irresponsible if I do say so myself. The delivery guy can at least delivery tomorrow instead or come back at a different time since he works till 8pm anyways. And since he couldn't, at least send me a quick notice that I should pick up my package tomorrow instead. So on top of being in a frustrating situation, my time was also wasted. Then I pretty much broke down there at the UPS location, and the lady that worked there walked away. She has no sense of empathy nor compassion on how I was feeling. Didn't even say welcome or ask if I was ok. Gotta work on that customer service. UPS do better! read more

UPS is too big to care, and as such has no respect for its customers and their time. It is literally impossible to get a human being on the phone. I tried calling in with an issue which fit none of their phone tree options, and no matter what I tried, I could not get through to a person. Instead, they have a condescending automated message stating "we know you'd like to speak with someone, but we need more information". Then they direct you back to the phone tree, and if you try pressing 0 they hang up on you. An unacceptable way of doing business, but as I said, they're too big to care. read more

Facility is Open from 12pm - 7pm Mon-Fri I recommend speaking to a "customer service" agent on the phone if the online system does not work for you. Please try the 1-800-742-5877 phone number because the hours are surprisingly much more flexible and I've spoken to 3 different agents at various times throughout the last year...and they were very polite... (only 1 time that I had a really bad experience... ) but sometimes you just don't have a say on who will be your shipper. Yes, the ups "text" and messages have had many issues. Anxiety and stressful describes the situation well...And sometimes the customer service agent can be a newbie. BUT at least they can see in the system when there has clearly been an error at ups and I really do appreciate the apology and the acceptance of accountability. Even though ups is not perfect... there is still worse out there. So the fact that ups can do a better job than good ol' USPS... Trust me, it's definitely a strange feeling when you can't even trust the government to deliver your packages... and I don't even mean on time... I'm just alluding to the fact that they say it was delivered but it was NOT received. And unlike ups, there's no accountability whatsoever smh. So maybe my rating is too high but I have to be honest - and overall, the average is pretty good compared to packages delivered by the government. Sad... but true. IMHO read more

UPS has a bunch of lazy employees . If your expecting a package from your sender and the selected UPS Surepost; that means UPS is suppose to deliver your package to The Postal Service. Well that's what happened to me, as a Lazy UPS driver wanted to deliver my package on their Damned route instead of doing his/her job and taking the package to the Post Office. Now I don't have my package, and trying to get a live person on the phone is like pulling teeth from a Snaggletooth Gator. When I did finally get someone on the phone , their customer skills was as dull as dishwater. Fake empathy was what I was given, then I was placed on hold for than 20 minutes. This is the 3rd time this has happened and I'm greatly perturbed that I yet again don't have my package . The damned delivery driver didn't even leave a notice. I asked if there was anyone who can help me move this package to my vehicle. She said No. I asked if there was any males to help me? She point blanked said No. And that it was against company policy. UPDATE: It is now the following day and I got hit with "An emergency situation or severe weather condition has delayed delivery. Date tentative" Needless to say, I'm fucking livid ---- I used to love UPS when I lived in SF but the moment I moved to Oakland, UPS has been a complete nightmare. Nearly every single time I order something online and it's shipped with UPS, a part of me dies a little inside. 99% of the time it NEVER delivers on the day it says it will. One time, UPS kept switching between "out for delivery" and "security issue" for an ENTIRE WEEK that I had to contact the shipper to re-route the package altogether to my work address in SF. FREAKING UNBELIEVABLE. Does this location just hire anyone with two legs? I had a package that was supposed to be delivered today from 12-4pm. Then I got a follow up email that it will be delivered from 4pm-8pm. Then 10pm rolls around, I get ANOTHER email basically saying they've rescheduled for tomorrow - are you kidding me? If I'm paying for 2-day shipping, I expect it to be here in 2 days. For the remaining 1% of the time when my package actually gets delivered on the day it's supposed to, it usually doesn't get here until at least 9pm. I get that oftentimes residential deliveries are delivered near the end of a driver's route, but if you're going to say "out for delivery" I fucking expect my package to be delivered. Wasting everyone's time. Yeah yeah, I'm sure they're understaffed but I'm convinced that the drivers take their sweet ass time, maybe delivering one package every hour and taking 5-hour long breaks. Tip: If you live in East Oakland and you need your package on a certain day, avoid UPS at all costs. If you can help it at all, ship your packages to your workplace. read more

To save everyone the pain of waiting 1.5 hours in the hot Oakland sun, here are some tips below based on my recent experience to retrieve an "in transit" package. 1. If you want to be the first in line, you need to show up 1-1.5 hours before they opened. I went at 11:30am for the 12pm opening, and there were 50 people ahead of me. Bring a lounge chair and wear sunscreen. 2. If your package still says "in transit", you most likely will not be able to retrieve your package at this customer center (like me). Some of the staff (who basically aren't customer service people and work in the corporate office-shows how short staffed they are) will pre check your package status before you get to the front. They send you home if your package says "in transit" or too much time has elapsed since the last scan. In my instance, my last package scan was was 5 days before and the UPS woman basically said "Oh this means we don't know where your package is and it's probably onsite somewhere but we can't get it". Yep. Great. 3. Last advice, and the best piece of advice. Bc UPS staff admittedly knows this is all a shit show, one of them showed pity on me and gave me the direct line to the UPS sales solution team. This number is basically meant for sales/business account people and mere pedestrians with woeful missing packages like myself shouldn't be calling it. But this UPS guy at the Oakland center felt so bad, that he passed me the number and said to try to see if they can help. It worked and I reached someone in seconds who was able to put in an immediate request for me. If you call, tell them someone at the Oakland service center gave you this number in hopes that help could be expedited. -- 866-390-0605. My package still is lost but luckily the company just sent a replacement so moral of the story is to first try calling the shipper to see if they can just replace. read more

UPS has lost a $10,000 package from a biomedical prototyping company that was critical to my business. The number of failures is mind-boggling: 1. The UPS hub told my official local UPS Store location that they weren't even going to try to deliver packages there anymore. The store was obviously horrified and asked what's going on, and the Pardee hub refused to tell them. 2. The line at the Pardee hub is now frequently around the block, and people are risking their lives to pick up packages and frequently aren't even receiving them after waiting for hours. 3. This is fraud. With shipping, of course mistakes and delays happen. But in this case, in Oakland, UPS is offering a service (shipping) and taking money for it, when they already know their network is overburdened to the point where they will not be able to deliver the packages they receive. This isn't really all that complicated. If you offer a service and take money for it when you know you can't fulfill the service, that is fraud. UPS is now engaged in widespread criminal activity at this location. read more

Yelpers, I pray for you if you have anything ship from UPS to your home that is of any value. I recently ordered a package requiring delivery confirmation and signature. The first package was shown to have been delivered and signed for. But surprisingly no one ever came to my door let alone I signed for anything. The 2nd time I insist the shipper use a different mail courier and once again UPS was use and dispatched. With the 2nd shipping, I also requested " Delivery confirmation " and signature . Surprisingly I got the 2nd package at my front door on the day UPS indicate it would arrive between 3-9PM. The package showed up at 2(!) So much for signature confirmation. The good news I will not need to go to the Hell Hub center like every other poor soul and wait for 2:30 minutes . If you ever get a package lost or UpS is asking to be redelivered, roll the dice and hope the 2nd time you will get the package on a redelivery !
