This review isn't based solely on this location, although I have been there before, and had to wait around awhile, but mostly it was very inconvenient for me to drive all the way out there by the airport, when that means about an hour round trip for me in heavy traffic on the freeway!
I am writing today because I got a package notice last week and thought maybe I somehow missed the driver calling me, so I signed the back to leave it for me inside our lobby. I actually wasn't sure if the drivers had access to our lobby, but I thought it was worth a shot. Two or three days later, there wasn't another notice of delivery attempted, so I called and was told, I kid you not, that the tracking number I had was delivered that day, to some man, whose name and address was stated. They offered no apology of explanation for this, just told me I can pick it up at the center on Pardee Drive in Oakland. I tried to protest that they didn't come back, and how do I know if that guy got my package? It seemed very odd to me, and left me guessing if my dress was then taken to be a freebie from UPS, for their mistake...or if I go to the center and drive all the way out there, will I be given a box with someone else's clothing?
This is just ridiculous! I called the company that I ordered from, and they called UPS while I was on the line, and then was told in turn, that I should go to the service center to pick it up and that they had made 3 attempts at delivery. This was clearly a lie, since the tracking from my order showed only one date, and several duplicated messages they just put to the affect that I said I will pick it up. They are morons on the phone, that's for sure! At this point, I don't have the energy to do the drive to the center, so I will let them return my clothing and start over, but insist on using Fedex or USPS only.
On another note, last summer I shipped a bunch of boxes cross country and then back again (long story) with UPS, and one went missing on the rebound trip. They found it about a week or so later, but when they delivered it, the guy called from the front door of our building, and I said I would be right there in a minute, but he just left it there (a 30 pound box) at the door and I saw him in his truck. I should have ran and yelled at him, for not waiting for me. To add insult to injury, they had switched my clothing to a different box, (they told me they had to open it to identify the package that was missing), and everything was carelessly mashed together in a big jumble along with somethng that I can only describe as sawdust all over my clothes!
The box was also mashed in on the top and sides. I tried to put in a claim that they ruined my clothes worth around 800, but they ignored it, and just sent a letter stating they found the box. Yeah, I know, but you guys ruined my clothes and covered them with sawdust! read more
