It's old enough to have a family, a career, a mortgage... Uhh. Time for a replacement. After speaking to 7 companies and getting 3 quotes, I landed on Nick's company. Almost immediately after reaching out, he was asking questions, requesting pictures, and really trying to get an idea of my space. He was kind, thoughtful, and extremely communicative. Unlike one company I dealt with, he was also open to giving me multiple options. There were no pushy sales tactics. He definitely isn't a salesman, he's an installer. Replacing your entire HVAC system is not cheap, and honestly, it is intimidating if you don't know a darn thing about SEER ratings and tonnage. I can research just about anything, so I really appreciated being given the information and having the opportunity to take it back and analyze it for myself and compare. The entire install went great, the team was courteous, respectful and seem to work well with Nick! They were joking around like old friends while working their tails off getting the install done. FYI he is not located on long Island any more, but that doesn't stop him from providing excellent service. He is on the island all the time. We're extremely happy with everything so far and we couldn't have picked a nicer person to do it with. Ps: if you need further proof that he's an all around great guy, he loves animals, too!!

With each visit by my local HVAC outfit things were continuing to spiral out of control. Each guy they sent to solve whatever the problem was appeared as if it was their very first service call. Yes that's right, on the job training experimenting with my $12,000 almost brand new 3 year old state of the art computerized Mitsubishi! Finally, I had enough!! I began searching for a new HVAC company. I remembered that my family had been using Comfort Control in East Northport N.Y., but was told that normally they would not travel to Nassau County. I called and spoke with Samantha. I explained what I had been dealing with for well over a week and that I really needed help. She said since my family were longtime customers they would come over and have a look. The next day a gentlemen named Anthony showed up. I explained what had previously been done which included bypassing Mitsubishi's internal water pump and jury-rigging the computer board to force the fan to blow warm air even though the unit had shut itself down. Anthony got on the phone with Mitsubishi and began to attempt to first undo the damage which had been done. He was calm, professional and courteous and explained to me he'd get to the bottom of this. After about 2 hours he did just that!! He then began to troubleshoot what the real problem was. This didn't take much time as he discovered a clogged drain pipe and explained one of the first things any company should look for is just that!! He then blew the drain pipe clean using pressurized air. So for well over a week I was sweating my ass off because the local idiots couldn't think to try that first along with charging me hundreds upon hundreds of dollars, which I did get back thanks to a comprehensive report that Anthony wrote up for me to show them. I will always remember and be grateful that Comfort Control bailed me out of a very frustrating situation. Fast forward to Tuesday Aug 25, 2020 and my Mitsubishi shut down for the first time since back in 2018. Called the local outfit and insisted they send one of their two senior technicians. On Friday Aug 28, 2020 they responded and were not quite sure what exactly was going on however they were able to get the unit working again. I got right on the phone with Samantha and explained that I really do not have much confidence in the locals and could she send someone over to give me a second opinion. She said if the unit shuts down again she would do her best to accommodate me. I want to emphasize that over approximately a 40-year period I have used more than a half-dozen HVAC businesses in my area and discovered the hard way that each one is worse than the next and that finding a really good one is nearly impossible. Comfort Control is just that. I cannot say enough good things about Samantha, her father Bill, and Anthony. Besides all that they are just very nice folks who have helped myself and my family with all sorts of referrals having nothing to do with heating and cooling. On July 27, 2026 a technician from Flynn-Aire arrived at our home to conduct a yearly maintenance…read moreon our central air conditioning system. We were concerned as we watched the technician and asked him how long he'd been with Flynn-Aire. He answered 8 months. ( for this level of expertise we paid $350) After a cursory check on our system the technician said everything was fine, and he left. Two hours later we went upstairs where to our horror water was dripping from the unit in our attic along the ceiling, onto our carpeting and into our chandelier. After two phone calls Flynn-Aire dispatched a second technician who glued the pipe that had been damaged by technician #1 and told us we would be contacted by Flynn since they had "a Sheetrock Guy" who could repair the damage. And then - crickets. No call from Flynn-Aire. Today is August 7, we have repeatedly called to speak to the owner, Bob Von Hagen, but he obviously has "Colleen" running interference and we have not heard from him. We have pictures to support our statement. We leave the decision on whether or not to use Flynn-Aire for your air conditioning needs to you. Count us as a former client.

We setup an appt for checking the AC in our house due to weak airflow, and speaking on the phone was very communicative in trying to solve the situation as best we could, without on site work, but it turns out they needed to come by. They show up early, someone thankfully was home, and they check the whole house, each of the vents, temperature from AC, and the units outside. It turns out, there was a leak, and we have an old unit that still uses Freon, which is A. Expensive and B. Hard to come by. Different options were available, so we chose to refill the unit, and hope that it lasts awhile longer before more treatment. A new unit would be like 12-20K, which is a lot more than just maintenance. Anyhow, the AC is tremendously noticeably different and cooler, and after post payment research, these guys were on point with pricing, straight up, no funny stuff, overcharging, or grifting. He recommended we replace our handler and condenser with a larger unit to compensate for the extra room, plus our equipment was nearing the end of it's life cycle age wise. It just constantly felt like it was running to make the house cold. He also added a supply and return in the small addition. We had the system put in during October 2022. Joe and his team are always extremely knowledgeable and a really nice group of people. Joe has an after hours messaging center which is 24 hours, and his team is always well equipped. Joe himself even came out a couple of times to help us with things. We are very pleased with the work and promptness that Joe and his team provide. A very stand up guy who stands behind his work, and has excellent employees! Highly recommended!
