I had what I thought to be an "untraceable" leak coming from my home's hot water heating system. It was coming from an unknown origin and pooling up in one particular location. I contacted several well known plumbing companies that used various high tech water tracing instruments, but all were unsuccessful. They stated they would have to start breaking my walls to "seek and find". Some even told me that it was coming from a main water line, but I was not convinced. When I contacted Joe from Mr. Plumber that all changed. First off, Joe was very prompt and professional when arriving to my house. He thoroughly explained what he was going to do and what I should expect. By process of elimination and use of high tech devices, he troubleshooted my heating system. In this case, no device was able to help. It took more than that. With some "old school" knowledge and techniques he was able to detect the leak location. Not even a hole was made in the wall. I was truly impressed! He went over the work needed and my options. We then scheduled a convenient day for the job to get done. Upon completion the leak was remedied. Joe (Mr. Plumber; Joseph Prestia) is wonderful - and more importantly does great work. He arrived exactly on time at our Bronx Home (Morris Park area) and set to work clearing drains on the three floors of our three family house. He took his time, explained the process thoroughly to my wife, me and my tenant. We had a great time speaking with him - and as a landlord I learned a bit more about the structural layout of my 1915 built house (purchased by my grandmother in 1935 or so). Anyway, 2.5 hrs later he was done - everything drains as it should. Joe arrived clean and left the house clean...He is kind, attentive - listens well...and goes the extra mile to check if other aspects of the plumbing are working well. He will not try and oversell products/services you may not need...He has a home/family here in the Bronx...takes checks, and even credit card (no extra fee). And from a landlord's viewpoint (mine) - he gets the work done right the first time...does it efficiently - and clean! Joe is not only an excellent plumber, but, he is an overall great guy. Warm, friendly and professional, he took the time to answer each and every question I had about the repairs. He arrived on time, wearing a mask and removed his shoes before entering the apartment. He understood the mechanics of our very old-style plumbing and brought the correct parts with him to fix the leak in our toilet pipe. The day Joe arrived I noticed that the bathroom sink was leaking as well. Since I didn't let him know in advance, he didn't have all the necessary parts to make that repair. I woke up to my garage floor covered in water due to a leak from my main sewer line. I was referred to Mr. Plumber and am very happy for the referral. Joe arrived as quick as I could have imagined. He was friendly, professional, wore a mask, and answered all of my questions. A clump of roots was pulled out of the sewer line which indicated a more serious problem, so he needed to return with his camera to see the extent of the problem. Today, he again arrived quickly, and while he prepared me for what could happen in the future, he showed me what the camera was depicting and explained how it could be maintained for now. Joe came by wearing a mask. He gave me a time and was there. He was polite , friendly and professional. It was cold in my house and before he left my heat was working again. You could not get a better deal on the price! He was awesome. You think when it's someone young they may not know what to do or that you will be overcharged for a simple job. So my hot water heater went out and I looked up plumbers in my area on yelp. Mr. Plumber was close and seemed good so I took a chance. I couldn't be happier that I did. I called at 6:30 Monday morning and got a call back 2 minutes later. Joe was at our house that afternoon. There were a few issues with the heater but Joe got it done for the quoted price, which is really impressive because of all the issues since it's an old unit. Needed emergency service for a leak coming from my upstairs bathroom. I called very early on a Saturday morning and to my surprise someone answered the phone. They were able to take my information and get my on schedule for same day emergency service. The tech came within the next couple of hours (I was advised I would have about a 3 hour arrival window which was understandable given I did call around 6:30am and it was a Saturday). I explained I had 3 stoppages in my condominium and informed he was fully booked for the next 2 weeks ( I'm sure from Hurricane Ida) I explained I'm a single mom and became unemployed due to pandemic (not his problem). Yes, they did it again! Our old toilet tank was corroded and leaked- not funny. I called them on Saturday. Mr. Joe and Mr. Santiano showed up- as promised- right after the weekend, analyzed the issue and went to work.. Now, only about seven hours later, we have a new toilet, tank, water supply valve installed, all with smiles and good cheer under the N95 masks . Also with social distancing rules followed.
