It was my first visiting as I was craving a cinnamon roll. It does get busy so I recommend going early. Their staff was great and attentive. I got the cinnamon roll and iced caramel latte and it was absolutely delicious! I definitely would come back to try their other delicious pastries!

Located in a strip mall with plenty of parking and a handful of outside tables for those opting to enjoy their pastries on site. Seems to attract a progressive clientele with many coming specifically for the cinnamon rolls. We went a little later in the morning so some items were sold out, but still a good selection. We did not opt for the cinnamon rolls - may have to give them a try next time. There's a limit to the number of people allowed in the shop at a time so there's a velvet rope where you may need to wait your turn. The gal who helped us was very friendly and knowledgeable. They offer 2 gluten-free items each day in addition to macarons. We tried the gf chocolate chocolate chip cookie w/sea salt, a peanut butter cookie, an apricot croissant and some macarons. The pb cookie was excellent!! Would definitely get that again. Although the apricot croissant was light, flaky and tasty, there was very little apricot inside. Was probably halfway through before getting a bite of apricot and it was just 1 small lump of fruit so was mostly croissant with a bite of apricot. Would not buy the gf double chocolate chip cookie again. Have to laugh b/c at our house, it's a joke that when you think you've added the chocolate chips to the batter, do it again b/c we need more. Well, I've officially been cured of this desire. This cookie literally felt like I was eating a bag of chocolate chips, with almost no cookie to it. It took death by chocolate to a whole new level. Can't comment on the macarons as we gave them to someone else. Would we return - sure! It's a cute place. Would be interested in trying some of their other options. Their cinnamon rolls obviously deserve a try and their breads looked fresh and tasty so perhaps next time.

Uppercrust is an absolute gem in Gainesville, and every visit feels like a special occasion. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the warm aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries that instantly makes your mouth water. Their attention to quality is evident in every bite. From the crisp baguettes to the buttery croissants, each item is crafted to perfection. What sets Uppercrust apart is not just the delicious offerings but the inviting ambiance and exceptional service. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, ready to recommend their favorites or help you discover something new. The shop itself is charming, with a cozy, artisanal vibe that makes you want to linger and enjoy your treats right there. I personally love their iced caramel latte & Tartlets. They ate both my go to but I've enjoyed also their croissants and quiches. I would love to come back and try one of their soups. Whether you're grabbing a quick coffee and pastry or stocking up on fresh loaves for the week, Uppercrust never disappoints. It's the kind of place that turns simple moments into memorable ones. If you're in Gainesville and love top-notch baked goods, this is an absolute must-visit!

Uppercrust Bakery - cards, small gifts available in the front window, cold drinks in the cold case.

Uppercrust is a local bakery opened in 1981. The original owner has since sold to the new owner, who was recently featured on the Food Networks' Diners Drive-Ins and Dives program. During a recent day trip to Gainesville, my dining companion and I had to make it a point to stop at this bakery. The bakery is located in a strip shopping center so there is ample parking available. There are a few bistro tables and chairs located outside the store front. The shop interior has no tables and chairs. I think most people shop and take away. On the left side of the shop interior are a selection of coffees, jam, tea and other boxed and jarred products. If you look to the right, you can actually see the kitchen in full force. The shop has several large bakery cases. By the time we arrived on a late Saturday morning, the baked goods were already condensed down in the visually appealing cases. They offer cookies, mini cakes, mini pies, mini tartlets, several different types of croissants, breads, soup, quiche and coffee. Service was swift and there were several staff helping multiple customers at the same time, both with items from the bakery cases as well as serving coffee and ringing up purchases. Yes, it was difficult to make finite selections. My dining companion and I settled on a butter croissant, an almond croissant, two sugar cookies, a macron, a walnut croissant rose, a chocolate chip cookie and a snickerdoodle cookie. It took a few days to enjoy them all. We have been to many a bakery and I will admit Uppercrust may have the best sugar cookies we have ever enjoyed. The pretty marbled glaze clung to every bite and the cookie was sweet and moist. It is well worth a stop to Uppercrust!

The pastries here are always delicious and there are so many unique options to choose from! I had a coffee for the first time as well and it was very tasty. The ambiance inside is cute as they have a little store inside, but you can't stay in there long as it tends to get crowded and they have a limit to how many people can be inside at once. There is a good amount of seating outside though, and the service is pretty quick!

A Gainesville staple. Are you truly a Gainesville resident if you haven't stopped by Uppercrust? If you haven't, it's time for you to go. Uppercrust continues to craft delicious baked goods day after day and does it flawlessly. The pastries are delicious (even more so when it's fresh in the morning), and the employees are all sweet and helpful. The shop is super cute and there's a ton of trinkets inside that add to the vibes of the place. Definitely recommending coming as early as possible because they run out super fast!!

Uppercrust has the best pastries! Their dough is so buttery and flavorful. Our favorite today was their apricot croissant!

Crunchy, Savory, sweet.... This bakery has it all. I have been coming to Uppercrust since I was a kid with my family. Now as an adult I am so thrilled to be able to really tell everyone how they must try this adorable little bakery. My top items are the croissants. But on the VERY TOP is the Rosemary bread. This bread is like home to me. I have so many memories of eating this bread with my family. It's just a beautiful bake with a delicious rosemary flavor. The ladies at the counter are so nice and friendly every time we go. The bakery is just so cute inside. Makes you feel like you're stepping in to a French bakery while being in Gainesville. 100% Recommend

We have lived near the Gainesville area for a long time and for whatever reason we never tried this place for breakfast. Only their cookies. The pastries are amazing, some of the best in the area. The guava one is awesome. They were very busy on a Saturday morning. The coffee was the only letdown. The consistency and boldness was good but it had almost no flavor despite getting vanilla. I'd like to come track and try more coffee and pastries in the future.

Finally tried this awesome spot located in the 4th Ave Food Park! I had heard so much about this…read moreplace and it was even featured on Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives". Their menu consists of some staple sandwiches, wraps, sausage dogs, and salads, along with daily specials. They also have a meat counter where you can buy a variety of very unique flavored/seasoned meats that are all made in house. The shop isn't super big and there is limited indoor seating. Although the food park offers plenty of coveted outdoor seating options. Service was great and pretty quick. The guy who took my order was helpful in answering my questions too. Everything is made fresh to order with higher quality ingredients. This is very evident in the taste of the sandwiches, they are truly next level! I ended up ordering a Muffuletta sandwich and a walking taco. Both of these were on the daily special menu. The muffuletta was loaded with ham, salami, mortadella, Swiss cheese, provolone, olives, Dijon aioli, lettuce, tomato, and onion on ciabatta. This sandwich was huge! The meat was super flavorful and you could really taste each one of them in each bite. I loved the ciabatta, especially because it wasn't too thick and didn't take away from the sandwich. The cheeses were mild melted perfectly on the sandwich. The fresh tomato's, lettuce, and onion complimented the other components nicely as well. I will say I wish the olives and aioli had been more prominent, as this is what truly makes a muffuletta of muffuletta. So I wouldn't really classify this as a traditional muffuletta sandwich and it reminded me more of an Italian sandwich. The walking taco included Fritos, chilli, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, and house-made ranch. I thought these were decent. This wasn't the most impressive thing, but it was still tasty. I wish there had been more meat in the chilli and the cheese was melted on top of the Fritos. The onions were simply chopped red onions and seemed too strong for the dish. While this was good, it isn't something I'd go out of the way to order. I would probably stick to the sandwiches and such as that is what truly shines here! Overall, I was more than impressed with this place. I love that it is located in the food park too! Ordering is easy and the service is welcoming. They offer a nice variety of deli options and there is something for everyone. You can taste the difference in the food here compared to other places. They use high quality ingredients and put a lot of passion into their work. I also love that they have fun switching up parts of the menu daily with unique options. While my muffuletta reminded me more of an Italian sando, it was still one of the best sandwiches I've had in the area by far. The sandwich was absolutely packed with meat and made the price completely justifiable. The bread was really fresh and not too thick, which I really appreciated. The walking taco was decent, but nothing to ride home about. If you are in the area and want a good sandwich, I HIGHLY recommend stopping by.

Perhaps, it's to keep everything fresh... Otherwise, this is a very nice Indian grocery store that offers beautiful fresh produce, authentic Indian food brands and a good variety of products. I could just go down every aisle and fill up a basket...easily! If I were a student, this would be one of my favorite spots to pick up pre-packaged Indian entrees and prepared meals. It's a tad bit on the pricier side, but there's a great variety and most of the staples are imported from the East. They even carry Satya Sai Baba Nag Champa incense and body products here among other wonderful home & personal care items. I love that they offer spices in smaller packages for around $1 each just in case you don't need pounds of cardamom. However, they do offer bulkier amounts of all essential spices for Indian cuisine. A few of the items you will find here are cardamom (fresh and green!), cumin, clove, cassia bark and cinnamon, coriander, nutmeg, mustard seeds, fenugreek, turmeric, garam masala, and a plethora of curries! Omg! And the RICE! They have a great selection of big bags of basmatis! My favorite part of the store is they have ready-to-eat spicy samosas and kachori. They were huge and only $1.25 each.
