Upper Crust reusable Lemon Loaf Box!

When I don't have the time or energy to make farm to table meals, The Upper Crust has been my go to for Bread, Lemon Loaf, cookies, soup and sandwiches, since High School & then as an Ambassador/Tour Guide for SUNY at Fredonia. Powering PoliSci/Blue Devil Diplomat Barbie, since 2007! Thank you for my blueberry lemon loaf, peanutbutter hotchocolate and PEACE! love the team at Upper Crust! Make sure you pop by, whether you're here for a tour, hockey otrclass!

The "backdoor entrance" at what I would consider to be the "front entrance" along Main Street. Wonder if there is any significance to this?

Cute little coffee shop right in he middle of things on Main Street. We stopped in after having lunch down the street and were pleased with everything. The decor is minimal, but inviting. The whole front wall is a window with a seating nook on each end. I absolutley love places with these books as they are such great places to people watch! We sat outside at one of the few tables they had because it was just too nice of a day to sit inside. There were a good selection of pastries and a delicious looking food menu, but as we had just finished lunch we stuck to coffee. My husband had a cappuccino and I ordered the iced lavender latte off of the seasonal menu. Just a note, I love all things lavender flavored, but it is a flavor a lot of people don't care for in coffee. So bear this in mind if you decide to try it. It's probably the flavor you don't like, not the drink that was made for you. We were both happy with our drinks and would recommend stopping in here if you are in town!

Glad to see they are offering gluten-free bread, but why would you put scrambled eggs on avocado toast? I've always had avocado toast served with a fried egg. It's definitely not as good with a scrambled egg.

Crust special- Tomato mushrooms soup and side salad w apple cider vinaigrette dressing
Jillian R.

Upper Crust used to be a five-star joint, but ownership recently changed hands a few things need to change to get back to that rating. Generally, I order the crust special (side salad, bowl of soup and a piece of bread). The tomato mushroom soup is absolutely out of this world. If you are going to start with something, that should be it!! The apple-cider vinaigrette salad dressing was also absolutely delicious- so fresh and flavorful. Here's the issue...my bread was hard. It tasted like they had previously cut the bread and let it sit out in the air, thus making it hard. The bread for meals should be cut immediately before serving so that this doesn't happen. There is usually a wide-selection of baked goods-I personally like the double-chocolate "drop" cookies, but I haven't really had a bad treat here. There is water available, along with a wide-variety of coffee beverages. There is a back and a front entrance (back has more parking!).

Vegetable soup and creamy potato

Always have loved Upper Crust, especially for their soups and bakery items. The restaurant recently was sold to new owners and most of the food seems to be the same but they have "updated" a bit with fancy wood serving boards and better salad options coming soon. My favorite is the creamy potato soup and the chunks of fresh bread it comes with! We used to also love the cherry turnovers and oatmeal raisin cookies but I didn't see those being available anymore! I hope they bring them back!

"Small" salad

You'd think this was a side salad off the kid's menu, but it was $3.99 for a "small" salad... On top of that, there was hair in the salad. Outrageous.

Food is delicious! I love the Mediterranean sandwich and tomato soup. During the holiday season, I really enjoy their cut out cookies.

Great local spot. Limited menu, but everything is homemade. The raspberry scones are to die for! Can't pass by the place without stopping.

A bakery without French bread! Limited selections these days, more and more a yuppie place for desserts and average coffee.

Excellent lunch sandwiches, morning scones. Never quite sure what time the scones will be ready though.

I don't like lemon. Or lemon loaf. The smell of lemon or anything lemony. But upper crusts lemon loaf would be be part of my last supper.

Getting there just after 1PM on a Monday there was a line inside, to the door to place orders... the wait afterwards was about 10 minutes. I love bologna sandwiches and I also really enjoy a nice beef on Weck, so I was happy they offered a mini beef sandwich, still on kummelweck, which I got along with their bologna sandwich with provolone, onions, and peppers on it. The bologna sandwich was flame grilled and tasted excellent! I added jalapeños to it for a little kick, as well as some mayo and that made the sandwich really tasty! I started with their split pea soup - It was really good! It had big chunks of smokey, flavorful ham in it and the texture was thick and the flavor was great! I also tried a side of their mustard potato salad and it was decent, but I think it had pimentos or pickles in it, which I don't prefer. Last up - That mini beef sandwich - AWESOME! The bun really added the excellent flavor you'd expect from having the meat on that type of roll. The beef was tender and so flavorful! They also have horseradish on the tables, so I added a bunch of it and that really made the flavor pop! Service was excellent and very friendly here. I'd highly recommend stopping in!

From the moment you walk in, you get that clean, nostalgic 60s vibe--simple, welcoming, and focused on what matters: great food. The counter service is quick and friendly, and you can actually watch them slice the beef fresh right in front of you. I ordered the famous beef on weck, and it did NOT disappoint. The hand carved beef was tender, juicy, and piled high on a perfectly salted kummelweck roll. Add a little horseradish and au jus, and it's easily one of the best sandwiches in the area. The crispy waffle fries were the perfect side--golden, crunchy, and seasoned just right. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. Between the quality of the food, the spotless dining area, and the old-school charm, this place absolutely earns five stars. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town.
