I went in to get my hair cut by Bianca, she trimmed it once before before COVID. I went in last Friday to have her cut it I really wanted this cute cut. I brought the picture of what I wanted. Needless to say I didn't get anything that remotely looks close to it except the neckline. It is so short on one side and the other is longer way longer. My whole head is like this. My 3rd visit here and it keeps getting easier, sandra and i almost don't have to talk about what i want anymore, she just asks which bad idea of mine she's entertaining that day. Today it was a bayalage touch up, she tried to loosely convince me to just blend my roots but of because of my blonde obsession, i asked her to prepare the bleach instead lol. I initially shopped around for my first bayalage and the few that i looked into all started at 350-400 and up. I'm not sure if this is the typical rate but ehh that's just seems really excessive to spend on hair. I appreciate Sandra's humane prices because i can feel like i tipped really generously. $225 for a bayalage touch up on 5 months of root growth, a minor hair cut, and opalex treatment Hopefully she still makes a lot of money because she takes multiple clients at a time which didn't interfere with my session at all, she had everything under control the whole time. This salon is the absolute best! I finally found someone who can cut my hair EXACTLY how I want it. Paola cuts my hair here at the Upgrade Salon and she is always very attentive and leaves my hair exactly how I ask. Ever since I started getting my regular trims with her my hair grows fast and looks so healthy. I always receive compliments on my hair & I've been able to maintain my long and healthy length thanks to her. I don't mind the 20 min drive from Ontario. So worth it! read more

I can't speak to the work they provide as I didn't get my hair done. What I can speak to is the lack of professional and interest in there customers. My sister made an appmnt for me. I arrived 10 minutes prior to my appmnt. I was asked if I had the 8am appmnt, I said yes. I went over the hair color I wanted, and reviewed my options. The manager began parting my hair and began the process. 10 minutes later, another person comes in and states that she's actually my stylist 8am appmnt and I had another stylist who was not in yet. The manger stops the process, Hair parted and everything and asked that I sit in another chair to wait. I was told the stylist would be 15 minutes late and would be with me quickly. 30 minutes later, i inquire about my stylist lateness and trying to figure out how much longer I'll need to wait. I'm told, she's 5 minutes away. Another 15 minutes pass by and I'm still waiting. The manager takes blame for my stylist not being there and continues to tell me that it will be any minute. It's 45 minutes into the appmnt time, and i feel completely disrespected and disregarded as a new patron. I don't know if this was a one time thing but I will never come here again. read more

So I went to the Upgrade on June 23th with a picture of what I wanted ; to strip the black from my graying roots in order to start phasing my natural graying hair (see picture posted). After 7 hours of bleaching in order to obtain my "silver fox" hair, my hair was more black with hues of blue than closer to my desired gray/white hair. It was explained that I shouldn't wash for the first three days and eventually the blue toner would wash off. What happened was this; after the first wash with the recommended shampoo, I was left with dry, damaged hair with blotches of various hues of black, brown, red, blue plus my original roots . I contacted my colorist with this situation and asked to come in so she could remediate it and she booked me to come over to fix it. In the middle of this, I fell ill and my hair had to wait. Finally today I went in and had it colored it black in order to cover all the embarrassing mess. I left with the understanding that I was there to fix the fiasco until I was contacted. Apparently the owner SANDRA does not guarantee their services; I was told, that she wouldn't allow my colorist to honor her work and demanded I pay an additional $45.00 because I waited too long to go even though I was ill and couldn't go. Personally I think I should've gotten the service I paid for or a full refund but I was glad to just have one solid color. Needless to say I will need to find a different place. Too bad because I like my colorist but will no longer patronize SANDRA'S locale read more

The only reason I did the drive to The Upgrade Salon is Sandra. This time all I had done was a a hair cut, but Sandra does such a great job she was worth the drive. She's truly a perfectionist, you can tell she loves what she does, and she does what she does with such art. She does amazing coloring, cuts, and is very friendly--easy to talk to. If you make an appointment with her she will do her very best to accomdate you and squeeze you in. She's a busy lady so call in advance! The Upgrade Salon is next door to a Barber Shop, which are both owned by same owner. I don't know for sure, but it looks like the owner is a male. The salon needs a little more of a "woman's touch." Lacks the "fluff," like paintings, or pictures. Otherwise the salon is new, very modern looking, the girls there seem to do a good job of quickly cleaning up after themselves (sweeping, wiping down things). Parking: Was completely full, but I parked across the street in a shopping center. So, theres plenty of near by parking. read more

My hair was so ugly and damaged & I had to fix it right away. I removed pink from my hair and it had a weird reaction turning it baby blue from the tips and yellow on the top. It was embarrassing, but Mille did a wonderful job removing the yellow and blue by giving me a beautiful balayage. I am so happy with her service and how it all came out. I went in looking for my regular hairstylist who wasn't there, so I got my hair done by Sandra. I spend 6 hrs in the chair! I already had a balayage, I just wanted it lighter n roots done. She did such a bad job! My hair had line of demarcation everywhere and random chunky streaks and my roots were extremely brassy. First off I wanted to give this salon a 5 but there was one thing that I did not like. I went in because I had gone to a salon and the lady totally messed up my hair so bad. I called in an made an appointment here because a friend recommended it. I had Paola, and she was very nice and understanding. She explained my hair situation and she really knew what she was doing. I went from an ugly copper orange color to a very beautiful color. She was extremely knowledgeable of what she was doing and she did an amazing job with the color, I was truly impressed. The only con I have was that she cut my bangs but once I got home I noticed they were crooked, I fixed them myself and everything but other than that she did an extremely nice job and I will be using her from now on!
