Great safe space, knowledge staff, friendly, and they have some amazing modalities that I just can't find under one roof.

This place is run terribly. Disorganized and terrible service. I would be embarrassed to pay over $400 a month for this joke of a place

This location has some of the red colored weight equipment as the top level burnet location, which was nice as the Burnet location is often pretty busy. I was able to secure a $30 per month membership since I signed a contract for 12 months, and that grants me access to any location that is the same or lower tier. I have been to cycling classes with Megan Smith and yoga classes with Kayur Patel. Both instructors are so friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging. All the staff members that work out at the front desk are so friendly, the always greet me and say goodbye. I was surprised to see so many lifting platforms and different machines I have never seen before. The only complaints that I have is that since this is an older gym, many of equipment is dinged up, but still operable. Also, instead of a posing room, I wished they used the space for a more functional amenity, like a hydromassage bed or a red-light therapy bed. If you are looking for an affordable gym where you can get a great cardio and/or strength training work out, this establishment is a great option since they have a vast variety of machines and equipment.

For those who may not be familiar with Matt Pilates, it is a low-impact, floor-based exercise using the equivalent of a Yoga matt. It focuses on core strength, posture, flexibility, and controlled breathing. Matt Pilates differs from Reformer Pilates, which uses spring-loaded machines aka as reformers. Matt Pilates relies on your body weight and gravity for resistance. Most big box gyms offers Matt pilates, whereas Reformer Pilates usually occur at Pilates studios or higher end gym locations. A Pilates Reformer can easily cost $200-$250+ per month. Many movie stars like Gwenth Paltrow and Dakota Johnson swear by Reformer Pilates. I have only done a trial membership with Reformer Pilates. Matt Pilates is very affordable and usually included in your gym membership, making it cost-effective. After my Matt Pilates class I was so Zen, I felt like taking a nap. However, after hitting the ignition key, I left my Zen state.

Not sure why it's so hard to fix things. The cable machine has been broken well over 50 days. And counting. Also, the people who open the club on the weekends are consistently late. In fact, I'm writing this on the parking lot waiting for the gym to open - should have opened 10 minutes ago. A few weeks ago someone strolled in around 8:17 when it should have opened at 8. This started out so promising. What happened?

What a great experience so far. Requested information via the Yelp projects and John from Austin…read moreSimply Fit reached out promptly. Scheduled a call to review my needs and was able to get into Eric's schedule for a Friday assessment. The gym is quaint and quiet, I've driven by a million times. The parking is a bit odd, a few spots up front where you have to reverse onto S Lamar when exiting...sooo that can be a challenge. They have parking in the rear of the building which is great however there is a single entry way and well, not sure how multiple cars could park and get out. Just know your reverse skills need to be on point. The gym inside has everything you'd need and since it's not open to the public it's just the clients and trainers. That means no waiting for machines and no one looking at you while you're there. Eric is great, he's very easy to talk to and made the whole experience easy. Upon arrival we walked through the questionnaire filled out online to find out the why behind the personal training inquiry. He then did a body scan for weight and fat %, took blood pressure three times as well. Gave a quick tour of the gym and how things work then it was onto the physical movement assessment. Nothing too crazy, range of motion and flexibility tasks. Took an hour for the initial visit and came back the next day to finish a few small exercises then learn the warm up needed prior to sessions. No membership needed as you buy the session in backs, 5, 10, 20 and can be used how you want. Like that there's no long term contract to sign. Session will start in the next week or so with focus on building/repairing the base/functional imbalances before getting into the fun part. Time will tell how this goes, wish me luck!

More importantly, I drink so much less without really noticing, I eat better and I've built muscle and carved out a lean version of me that's much stronger and less achy than the me I've known for so long. I feel stronger and more stable in my body than I have in my adulthood, and it really does make me feel like I have more energy. I think because I do. Nick's approach goes far beyond just "working out." He has helped me improve my stability, mobility, posture, and overall strength in a way that feels sustainable and deeply functional. It's also just so pleasant to work out with him, I never dread the gym because we go hard, but not so hard that you just want to get out of there, and yet the results are still great! One of the biggest changes I've noticed is in my shoulders and neck. I've had long-time sloped shoulders and neck tension that used to bother me by the end of every workday, and now I'm moving through my days essentially pain-free. Nick is thoughtful, knowledgeable, humble, encouraging, and incredibly good at building a program around your actual body, your goals, and your life. I feel stronger, healthier, more confident, and more connected to my body because of his training. I cannot recommend Nick enough!! See my before and after - not that the outside is really what matters most, but how you feel inside.

As of last time I went they currently do NOT offer cycling any more (unsure if they will bring it back). The studio itself is gorgeous - glass windows everywhere overlooking downtown Austin. The interval class is a low lights kind of club vibe with music while the 3 x 3 classes are held in glass rooms so very light and airy. For the classes requiring mats they do provide mats and towels and the room has labeled numbers where to put your mat down but know that the spacing is very tight and in a full class you're on top of each other. I have found the instructors to be incredibly friendly and personable and even in a big class they do try to get your name if they can. My favorite so far is Al Cairns and Carla Jian as they focus on form but also go around and check on everyone. Parking wise they offer 90 minute validated parking at 400 San Jacinto Ave but the parking can get full so there is another lot $5 at Littlefield. I never had trouble getting parking for the morning and noon classes, but evening is definitely more difficult. Cost wise I take the classes through Classpass but the cost usually range from $25-35 a class based on package you get. There Black Friday sale is very good and can get it down to $20-$22 a class. Amenity wise they provide showers with nice shampoo/conditioner/body wash and Dyson hair dryers and towels!

When we got there, they informed us that the person doing the class was not there yet. A few minutes later they told us they were not showing up and they rescheduled us with barely an apology. We were annoyed but accepted it and rescheduled. Today, I had to get a babysitter sitter again to make the class. I live in Leander and was getting all the red lights. I tried to call them at 9.40. No answer or call back. My sister got there before and told them I was running late. I pulled in at 10.06 am. They had told my sister they would open the door for me. But after standing outside for over 5, I realized they were not going to let me in. I also felt disrespected of my time and unwelcome. I don't leave bad reviews and I work in customer service. I would never treat someone the way I was treated. I also have not gotten a refund. My response- I understand policies. But I was cancelled last week upon arrival because the instuctor did not show up. That's not be acknowledged. I tried to call and communicate. It was insinuated to my sister that the door would be opened so I stood outside for over 5 after arrival. I have grace last week, and expect the same in return. And that was not shown. It goes both ways. Have a great day.
