I knew that I was asking for a lot when I was searching for a same-day delivery service, the day after Christmas but I was willing to try anyways. I was told it would be $270 for 2 men for 3 hours. My stuff didn't need 3 hours since it was going a few blocks away but it didn't matter since it was going to happen today. The guys were able to come earlier than anticipated and obviously the excitement started to kick in. Now, not at any point was I told to take the drawers out of the dresser but the movers did and I figured this is their job they know what they're doing. Once we got to the other property I had a very important call and I watched as they brought the stuff up. When putting the drawers back into the dresser, the man literally broke it in my face- though I didn't realize it at the time. I thought he was just in a hurry and I thought that's fine I'll go back and readjust it. There was no readjusting he literally shoved the drawers in and broke my dresser and now the drawers barely open or close. Then I see a big chunk missing from my chest of drawers as well. I went down stairs to handle a call and my dad began signing papers and I thought he was signing the rest of the funds. I've never used a moving company before and was unaware he was signing an agreement that everything was fine. As soon as the paper was signed, the men left and I was still on the phone. I took my dad upstairs to show him the damages and he was furious that I hadn't said something earlier. I immediately called the company, still within their working hours and got no response. I wasn't even able to leave a vm. And I texted the number that texted me earlier explaining the situation and still have yet to hear back from them. Take away: - take pictures of all your things before and after they move u - take out/put back all drawers yourself - make sure you inspect it all BEFORE signing anything - just because they're quick doesn't mean they're good :(

Best Move I made the whole time I was in Florida! I dodged…read morebullets when I interviewed two other fly-by-night companies and happily chose AIA. First, we were very impressed by Alex Trento. He was professional, on time, smart and accurate. Honest and old-school. We interviewed two other companies and confidently booked with Mayflower. Penni, was the move manager, did a great job communicating with us. The driver called the night before to confirm. Driver was efficient and sorely lacking in social graces; he was on time, had a good crew in CA, however, two wardrobes were squished totally - he blamed the boxes - not where he stacked them, And an important box marked 'fragile' six times arrived like an accordion - the driver blamed the box,- nothing was broken. Alex, the president will warn you about the FL competition and, go figure, he is 100% right. Listen to the man. Would use them again 100% - and refer friends and clients to Mayflower/A-I-A.

A1A did all the packing and loading at the origin location. At the destination I discovered that…read morethe wardrobe boxes containing my clothing on hangers were also tightly jammed with other items, such as a full size plastic clothes hamper (into which a comforter was tightly jammed), unprotected shoes and an iron, full-size file boxes, a wastepaper basket, a tripod, etc. The force and displacement resulting from of all that jamming caused my clothes to not just be all creased, but also damaged, including a leather jacket whose collar was permanently dented in two places. Mats and a rug which should have been rolled up were instead tightly folded and bent. An upholstered chair had its upholstery ripped. A microwave oven for which I had the original box and styrofoam had the platter thrown into the interior loose and unprotected. Possibly the most clear-cut indicator that the damage was intentional was my favorite mouse pad (which has been discontinued), which was made of a firm material and yet was packed at the very top of a box's interior having been completely and precisely folded in half, making it forever unusable. The boxes that had been packed in my presence in the living room had tons of packing paper in them, but the boxes that were packed out-of-sight in the bedrooms often had no packing paper at all and looked like drawers had been turned upside down and the contents dropped into the boxes. Then there's the usual damage such as glass artwork being shattered, cardboard boxes being crushed., etc. This is all documented in photos, as well as videos of me opening up the wardrobe boxes. I had completed as instructed the high-value inventory online, but when I was presented paperwork to sign after the boxes had been loaded, it said I had "none" and that it was too late to fix. For both the A1A packers and movers, I tipped each of them $50 before they started and told them they would each get another $50 afterwards, for which I kept my word, and yet they did this.

I paid this amount but worst part is, they took $80 dollars extra for TV transportation, when I unpacked my TV, the screen was completely broken and I have no option other than throwing my 55 inch TV into garbage, when I claimed and asked for reimbursement, they are giving $19 for TV loss compensation, how it is ridiculous.
