This company has been nothing short of amazing to work for. They actually offer competitive pay,…read morealongside decent benefits and a ton of unspoken perks here and there. 40 hours a week and work is ALWAYS guaranteed. Unfortunately there's always a few people who feel they're above the rules and company as a whole and need to be weeded out. This company, from my standpoint, just wants to see the job done in the safest/most efficient way possible. They have no problem sending extra men to get the job done, and if the job is unsafe we usually don't deliver until the job site is made safe for us. They pay you based off experience, and even if you have none, as long as you pit your best foot forward they'll appreciate it and you will be rewarded. With quite a few jobs under my belt, this has easily been the most fair/rewarding of them all. The company also gives you a TON of chances to fix yourself up before they let you go, so if you can't stop smoking or complaining that's on you. Everyone is also expected to pull their own weight to a certain degree. This being a labor intensive job means that there will be a fair amount of lifting, pulling, and pushing. You're not expected to be Superman, but you also can't put every single window, big or small, on the blue cart because of your inability to lift. Standing around your phone and then latching on to someone else's work does not suffice. The management is ALWAYS around to talk and can usually give you advice to solve your problems. The supervisor is also very fair across the board. There's also no secret benefits to being a POC because they are vastly outnumbered. If you'd like to come work here, please come see for yourself. It's easy to make a disgruntled review when you've never had accountability. Threatening to badmouth us to your "local" community isn't the way to go either. I've been with MDW long enough to see that it'll be worth it to be here in the long run. The customers are happy, Us(the employees) are happy and everything's working out.

The company that had installed the garage door was a bit clueless, so I used Amarr's website to find another installer. This location was competitive in pricing and understood how Amarr handled warranty repairs. They sent a guy out the same afternoon. Unfortunately, they sent him with the wrong part. He tried to make a temporary repair, but that didn't hold. It was late in the day, so he said he'd get the right part in the morning and be back. He took care of it quickly the next day. At this point, they were better than the company that didn't understand how Amarr handled warranty repairs, better than the company that didn't get around to returning my call until 7 am (ugh!) the next day, better than the company that wanted $125 for the repair. Not perfect, but at least I can get my vehicle out of the garage again.

But he does not have the necessary parts (hinges) on the truck. He quotes a firm price, collects a 50% deposit and schedules another visit. The day before the second appt I call to (re)confirm the 8:30 appt. Yup, on the schedule. The day of the appt I call ... and am told the 8:30 appt is now 11-1. Um, okay. I am told that the tech will call when he is 30 minutes away. 1:25 and no call ... so I call ... and am told that he is here and working. Nobody is here. Nobody has called. Telephone lady seems baffled and promises that I will be called 30 minutes before they arrive. Two techs arrive, the promised 30 mins away call was never made ... and they want another $100 above and beyond the Balance Due listed on the work order. What ??? Office is flummoxed. I am placed on Ignore for 15 mins, then the telephone lady said the mgr would call me back. They did not call. Ultimately they agree to do the work for the original Balance Due amount. Techs try to take my copy of the work (receipt) order when they leave. Techs did not clean-up after themselves, leaving me to pick a handful of metal shavings from the carpet. The fact that they ultimately solved the problem for the quoted price is the only thing separating them from a 1-star review.
