I've wanted a tattoo for a long time and finally decided to take the plunge this year. After searching through MANY Instagram portfolios of talented Indy artists, I decided Cass Wilson from Untitled Ink would be the best fit for what I wanted, and I'm so lucky to have been so very right. I had a pretty detailed and complicated vision, and she was able to produce a custom piece that was beyond my expectations. The studio is cozy and clean and close to all the best parts of Broad Ripple (so I could treat myself to a new plant at Snakeroot and a beer or three at the Alley Cat after my appointments). When the day of my appointment came, I'm not gonna lie--I was nervous. I'd chosen to go all-in with a large first piece, and I was unsure how I'd react to the new environment (though I was also really excited because of how awesome the artwork was). Cass was great at explaining the process and made me immediately feel comfortable and welcomed. She continued to be communicative and gentle throughout the process, and we took breaks as needed. (It didn't hurt nearly as much as I'd always imagined it would; though I also chose a less painful area to start with, fwiw.) All this so far would have gotten a 5-star review from me. Had that been my entire experience, I still would have been completely satisfied. However, I was also lucky enough to be there on a day when two other artists--Johnny and Micah--were in, and both of them were awesome enough to chat with me about all kinds of random things we all had in common, and it totally made the experience above and beyond. Like, these people sort of feel a wee little bit like family now, and I can't wait until I get to go back and see them and have a needle jabbed into me for many, many more hours. me and my friend came here on a saturday evening , spur of the moment . the spot was easy to find . it was every clean and organized on the inside . Had a great experience here, really enjoyed the out come of my tattoos. It was really easy to get a consultation and to get scheduled for the work. I wanted to worked with Grace, so walking in is not something I was interested in doing. Grace really helped me with making my tattoos come to life (she helped with the concept). Our family highly recommends Grace at Untitled Ink. She's tattoed me and my husband before. Most recently, I took our 17-year-old in for her first tattoo as a birthday gift. She had her design picked out ahead of the appointment. Grace guided her on size and placement and deciding on classic black and white vs color. We really appreciate her expertise. Grace is a super down-to-earth person and took great care of our daughter through the whole process. She made sure she understood all of the after-care tips before we left the shop, and reminded her to reach out if she had any questions afterward. It's two weeks later now, and our daughter's tattoo has healed without fanfare and looks absolutely incredible. She's so proud of it! The lines and shading are so crisp and fine. Our daughter loves everyone's reactions when she shows them, which is complete admiration and awe. We're still in Covidtimes, so OF COURSE, when you walk into Untitled Ink, you'll be expected to wear a mask over your nose AND mouth the entire time you're there. Employees do the same. They also wear gloves and take great care in cleaning and sanitizing the enquipment and the customer chairs. We were the only customers in there on this particular January day, so social distancing was easy to do. If you're wanting to get a tattoo, but admittidly have reservations because of the pandemic, I get it. We did too. I got in touch with Chad @fearnowtattoos on IG and said I wanted a sewing needle on my hand. He said, great, but he wanted to meet with me before we did the tattoo. I woke up the next morning and asked him if he could make the sewing needle turn into music. I wanted his artistic take on whatever that meant. His design far exceeded my initial ramblings. I'm so happy I found him. I had driven by Untitled I don't know how many times. Now I'm trying to figure out what I get tattooed next and I want to go back to Chad. I went in with some research done on what i wanted to get done. I had a consultation and my artist was Johnny. He seemed to really care about getting something that i wanted and seemed like a pretty genuine person. He gave me a whole book on japanese tattoos to look over and some other ideas to research and was extremely thorough with me. I ended up with something even better than my original idea. I went here because my usual shop was a little steep for what I wanted. I was given an estimate by one artist and told to call another one to see his availability. The artist told me he normally charges a deposit so text if I wasn't coming. I show up and I'm told he knows what I was quoted but he charges x amount per hour. The price was a significant amount more than expected. I felt obligated to still get it. It was a cover up yet I can still see part of the old tattoo. He offered to go over it more but said he didn't want to keep going over it but that I can come back for a free touch up. The symmetry is off and the attention to detail is lacking. They also charge 5 to use your card and I wasn't told this before I paid. I will not be going back nor recommending this shop. I suggest being very cautious and reading reviews before going here. "Sorry you had a bad experience with us. Yes all of our artists have different pricing. Some artists have more experience than others and specialize in different types of tattooing. I'm sure you had the chance to review the placement of your tattoo before you started and that was the time to speak up about the symmetry you were looking for. As for the card charge you can always pay cash for you tattoo if you would like. Also I'm sure the artist let you know that the cover up is best done in stages (layers) to fully conceal the old tattoo. Sometimes one pass can cover it initially but most of the time it will return with out multiple layers over it." And the response was rude. You really aren't sorry. If you were your tone and word choice would be different. 1. On the phone the day before I told him what i was quoted, sent a pic of my wrist, and a pic of what I wanted. I wasn't told his pricing then. But infelt obligated to go once I made the appointment and after I got there. 2. The placement was fine when he printed it. After he tattooed his work was off and sloppy. It was a tad bit too late to do anything then. 3. I wasn't told until after the tattoo was done that it would cost FIVE dollars to use my card. There was really no point in going anywhere to withdraw money. 4. Neither artist told me that it would take multiple sessions to cover it up. Regardless, had he made better choices while doing it my issue with the cover up wouldn't be problematic. I was already done and he didn't seem to want to fix it then so I left it alone. But good job assuming. But trust. I won't be coming back and nobody I know will be either. read more

Went in with my daughter and girlfriends to get our first tattoos, they were rude and obnoxious and smelled of alcohol. We left when we saw them laughing at us and being jerks in the next room. They seem to not have any artistic ability and obviously no manners. They said they can't draw a perfect circle " we are human not machines" I thought that was a pretty common skill in tattooing, guess I was wrong! What a bunch of jerks! read more

I was very nervous getting my tattoo... the only other one I had done was 18 years ago. The guys were super nice and totally put me at ease. It was very clean and a really nice place. I came with a very specific idea, talked to Anthony about it, he offered ideas, freehand drew it and did an AMAZING job!! This is a very sentimental tattoo for me and I had tears when I saw what he pulled together. I couldn't be any happier with how it turned out. The in shop experience was fine, the artist (Bryan, I think) was really nice BUT my tattoo is tiny and basic and somehow managed to look really bad after healing. It is two different colors, some parts are thicker and others are thinner, there are lines that overlap where they shouldn't. It just wasn't what I was expecting for my first tattoo, I expected it to go much smoother. When I called to discuss fixing it the artist was pretty rude and I am overall not satisfied with my experience. I would recommend going else where. I had it fixed at Queen City in Terre Haute and the experience there was perfect! The staff was wonderful and my tattoo looks great! read more
