They got me in right away! I was requesting a simple line work tattoo, and it turned out great! They were efficient, hygienic, and free. Great vibes and I'm super happy with the quality. They had a shop minimum of $100 for tattoos which I thought was fair for a reputable studio. Highly recommend. read more

I've gone to Metamorphosis a few times now, first for getting my ears pierced and recently to get my eyebrow pierced. Each time I've been here, the whole process felt very seamless and I've been very satisfied with the end result of my piercings. Great vibes as well; everyone is so nice here! If I'm not mistaken, I've been helped by Delanie, Heather, and Paul. All of them are awesome. I will definitely be coming back for more piercings or even tattoos in the future. read more

I regularly frequent Metamorphosis for piercings and tattoos. I started with a double-tragus piercing pre-Covid, and since then, I've returned for an additional 15 ear piercings! Heather is amazing--she's done several of my piercings and is always pleasant, calming and upbeat! The other artists are equally talented, but Heather is definitely my favorite! I've also had three tattoos done by Paul, and I've been completely satisfied each time. This great studio has definitely earned my repeat business! read more

Had a great experience getting tattood by Steve! he was so nice and did an amazing job on my tattoo! Will go back again for sure!

I've been coming to Metamorphosis for my tattoos for years now! I got one in 2019 by whoever was first available but eventually found "my" artist Lyndsy and have been seeing her for a couple years. The shop is by appointment only and based on the other reviews I see, I'm not sure what the issue is. It clearly says it on the door and many other tattoo shops in Indy are appointment only??? Just call ahead of time and make an appointment?? Anyway, Lyndsy is always able to fit me into her schedule in a short amount of time and she puts so much care into her work. Whether it's a simple tattoo or a custom one that's more complicated, she does it all with kindness and knowledge of her craft. Everyone else I've met at the shop are also great and super nice. The shop is clean and welcoming - that's all I want in a tattoo shop! read more

Sanitization! This is the first thing I look for when visiting and they have a clean place..Glen and his wife are Awesome! ..

Overpriced and piercing was really poorly done. Went back to fix it and they wanted to charge again for a piercing. They made the mistake and I have to pay again for the fix? I definitely would go somewhere else. read more

Excellent service and friendly people. I'll definitely be back. I've been getting piercings and jewelry changes for a while

I had went here to get a nose ring and to have them change it out. They are only taking appointments so I had called them Monday afternoon and they could get me in the next day but due to my schedule I had made my appointment for Wednesday after work. When I arrived to the shop they were very professional and helpful. They have some beautiful jewelry and the prices range from inexpensive to expensive depending on what you get. The piercer did well at getting me the right size even though I didn't get my piercing done here. It is a clean store and not only just professional. I was satisfied with my experience and would always go back to this shop. read more

I had a great piercer, except the fact that she pierced my bellybutton when I didn't have the anatomy. It ended up rejecting out of my stomach and tearing . Then I came back to ask about it, and she said that it was probably just wet. Once again, she was a very nice piercer. read more

I have never left a review in my life-- I work in service and have contemplated writing one, but I found it necessary. I went for a nostril piercing on each side a few months ago, the jewelry was like $50 a piece and the size of a baby's pinky; but everyone recommended this place so I thought it must be reasonable. In total after pricing, tip, piercing prices, it was like $150. I've had my nose pierced at 17 at a shitty tattoo shop, it fell out a few months ago (I'm 26) and decided I wanted both sides; I've never had any issues with tattoos or piercings. One nostril fell out after two weeks (it was a twisted ball so I have no idea how that happens in one's sleep), and closed immediately. The other nostril became extremely infected, I used the saline solution I purchased from them 3x a day, and the piercing again fell out in my sleep. My nostrils are now still fu**ed up to this day. I've never even had an issue with Claire's jewelry. So awful and overpriced despite the hospitality. read more

My husband and I got our first tattoos today and Paul was absolutely amazing!! Our kitty, Zelda, passed away almost a week ago. We wanted to commemorate her and get something small and simple so in a way she's always with us. Paul asked us what we were thinking of a few days prior to our appointment and completely killed it with the final result! Metamorphosis is clean and they follow all COVID-19 protocols. Paul made sure we were both happy with our designs, the size and placement before starting on it which we both truly appreciated! I highly recommend coming here and asking for Paul if you can!! We went as a party of six for a variety of piercings. Heather and the other staff were friendly, helpful, patient and professional. They helped us decide placement as well the best jewelry size for the six month healing process time (pick something you can live with easily). Heather was efficient and super pleasant. They were through with aftercare instructions. It was a great experience and return visit for several people in our party. While I don't have another piercing planned (you never know...) I would hesitate to return to Metamorphosis. read more

Highly recommend both the shop and Paul. read more

I haven't gotten a tattoo in a few years, but finally decided I was ready to get another. I was not sure where to go in Indianapolis, so determining which studio and artist to book with was a bit daunting. However, I found Paige's work on Metamorphosis and decided she was a great fit for what I wanted. I booked the tattoo appointment via email and arrived on the day I had scheduled. Because of COVID, there is a limit on how many people can be in the shop, and it was nice to see a place actually following COVID procedures. Paige did a great job with my tattoo and she was really easy to work with. She kept checking in to make sure I was ok, which I had never had a tattoo artist do before. I'm really happy with the tattoo, and the price was very fair. I'll definitely be back and would recommend anyone wanting a tattoo to check out Metamorphosis, specifically Paige. read more

This place did fabulous with the Covid protocols two years into the pandemic! I went in and got my nose pierced again in the same place and everyone from the front Dess to the piercer was great and gave me full instruction and what to do next. I did have to ask her what to do next that wasn't something that she automatically said but I believe this because I've had a piercing before. My original piercer wasn't there but her husband was and was very friendly and nice. I'll be back for my next piercing! read more

Okay, let's talk about Metamorphosis! First of it, it's spotless. No matter how long you're there, the employees are cleaning, sterilizing, sanitizing, spraying down their work spaces, etc. With few exceptions, the staff are all so nice and helpful, and don't let you move ahead until they feel like you really understand what you're getting into, whether it's a piercing or ink. They're COMPLETELY on it when it comes to the required paperwork, so you know they're on the up and up when it comes to that. I had a tattoo done there in April, and even though there wasn't a whole lot of connection between myself and my artist, but did a fantastic job, giving me exactly what I wanted, and I'm proud to show it. Now, let's talk about Paige. I went in a couple weeks ago with a drawing of a peacock that I wanted translated into a tattoo. I didn't like that the drawing was somewhat cartoonish, but when I showed up for my appointment, she had turned it into an almost stained glass representation, which I loved. I simply asked her to make it slightly bigger, and she did. Somehow, even though she's stabbing you a bazillion times a minute with a needle, Paige has a very soft touch, is the perfect amount of conversational, and doesn't seem annoyed or put out when you need to take a second, or go off to the bathroom. I did hair for 30 years, and when I retired, I had a bunch of ladies baying at the moon, threatening me with bodily harm, and generally mourning my exit from the business. For me, this will be Paige. Thank God she's a lot younger than me, because I can't imagine any circumstance I would go to anyone else for expert, custom inkwork! I'd trust anyone at Meta for ink or piercings, don't get me wrong, but Paige? Paige is my girl!! read more

There were no less than three people behind the counter, and all three made efforts to insult me when I walked in for a nose ring. One woman made an openly rude comment when I didn't know a gage size off the top of my head ("bombastic side eye" - funny until I registered that it was disrespectfully directed at me). Another woman insulted my outfit and was commenting on it ("floaties optional") with her coworkers while I was trying to browse. The vibe felt needlessly exclusionary and condescending ("we are open by appointment only - you clearly don't have one"). Really? You're in a war zone of construction in a sloppy, biker gang over-ridden part of Indiana. Get over yourselves and work on your customer service. The only metamorphosis I felt was from new-customer curiosity into shame, hurt, and profound distaste. read more

Stopped by Metamorphosis on a Wednesday evening around 4:30 pm for a nose ring. Walked right in and was greeted promptly. Keep in mind, if you are getting a tattoo you have to make an appointment. She was gentle and walked me through the process. I would highly recommend. read more

Heather at Metamorphosis was phenomenal. She was very informative and a straight shooter when it came to taking care of my nose piercing. The entire staff at Metamorphosis was so helpful in deciding what jewelry to pick and what spot would look best for my piercing. The shop was clean and well ran. I felt that they were extremely efficient in what they were doing while still providing a personal touch. Hands down the best experience I've ever had! COVID precautions are fully enforced, which honestly I appreciate. Paige was my piercer and she was sooooo professional and also perfect at her craft. I initially came in for one piercing. My first piercing was the conch. I was superrrrrrrrrrr nervous. I love piercings but fret at the pain. And I haven't had one in years. Paige walked me through and honestly the pain was a 2/10. I was amazed at how easy it was. I literally was like WOW PAIGE! So I was curious about getting another piercing and asked about the pain level. She said it was the pain was about the same. So I signed up for another piercing, the outer auricle. Same process, even less pain 1/10. I honestly could've let her pierce everything I've been wanting to get ... but you know you gotta pay for it! The piercing was steep. It's a 40 dollar piercing fee and the jewelry adds up. The titanium champagne stud was 50 (conch) piercing and the gold hoop was 100. So all together ... pretty stiff. But every time I'm in Indianapolis I'll definitely get my worked one her. Quality is superb. read more

My experience with my nipple piercings was impeccable from start to finish. Some of the reviews concerned me - not getting to pick your artist, no opportunity to consult, etc. not that the reviews are bad, but hidden in the reviews are what I thought were red flags. They are not. I phone about a week in advance to ask questions. I got Hannah, who was sweet, helpful, knowledgable, and tolerant of my barrage of questions. I learned that Kristen, who I had chosen to do my piercings, accepted walk-ins. Hannah also answered other questions I had about the process, jewelry, etc. Mr Jen F has been wanting a specific tattoo for some time now, so I asked Hannah about that process. She encouraged me to choose Matt because of his experience with Japanese style tattoos. (We had actually already decided Matt was best for the job based on the website/online reviews.) She set up a consultation with Matt to discuss the work and this occurred just after my piercing. Kristen was fun, gentle, honest, professional, and comforting. She didn't require me to fully undress (top/bra), but I did because I wanted her to have clear access and I'm not modest. She's also very good and the process was not nearly as painful as I anticipated. Nearly 24 hours later, I have no bruising or swelling. Mr Jen F met with Matt and were proceeding with the work. He's very busy and this is a large piece, so we'll update this review in about a month. read more

Super nice place and even nicer people. Just went there for my first time 2 weeks ago and got a industrial and naval piercing on big belly. Definitely was a great laid back experience customer experience wise. I had to get a longer naval jewelry after a few days to compensate for swelling but thanks to the in shop saline spray ($10) I was able to save my piercing and both are healing perfectly. read more

Made an appointment for the only day you can get into this place. It's like why do you have to make an appointment for a shop that's just open to the public. Especially for just a quick 15-20 min piercing. I got an appointment at 1:30 pm and called the lady at the front desk to tell her I'll be 5 min late to the appointment due to traffic from a wreck on the highway. She said I had a 15 minute grace period but after that the couldn't serve us which is reasonable. I got there at 1:40 at the door with only 5 min to spare and they said were late and couldn't serve us when I still had 5 min. She was very rude and arrogant like she was better than everyone there. I don't know why the staff that works here just makes you seem so less of yourself and lies about when it's okay to come. Professionalism should also retain kindness and they truly lack that. Not how it used to be years ago. read more

Really disappointed this place is appointment only now. I've been here for several piercings and have walked in for all of them. It's mostly been a great experience each time. They can be a little condescending when picking out jewelry and with their insistence that cartilage piercings can't be done with a hoop, but the place is clean, and they're fairly quick about it. It's the speed of their work that makes it super frustrating that they're now appointment only. Taking my business elsewhere to somewhere more convenient. read more

Great staff with good artists and piercing professionals. I got a piercing here back in September, and have had issues with getting the piercing snagged or caught on things, which has caused an irritation bump to form right around the piercing. I've been able to reach out to the staff at Metamorphosis, and they've been incredibly helpful with helping me care for my piercing aftercare. Appointment only shop and they do require yoh wear masks inside, even while being serviced. Which I love! Very clean space and never have to wait too long to be taken care of once you're inside. Highly recommend them for your tattoo and piercings needs. read more

My friend and I came all the way from Muncie to get our first non-earlobe piercings done here. We both wanted a helix piercing (one double, one single) and wanted to have it done right, and Heather delivered! They are very obviously a tattoo AND piercing shop, not just a tattoo parlor that can also do piercings. The whole shop feels clean and airy. We went on a Saturday afternoon and only waited for about ten minutes. Heather was totally cool even though we were kind of giggly and nervous and probably totally uncool. She talked to us about everything she was doing and was really chill and really seemed to like her job. The girls at the counter knew their stuff too. They were able to recommend jewelry for us based on price point and goals. I wanted a double helix so I could have a spiral, and they recommended getting a couple of 18-gauge hoops to make the transition easier. Heather also made recommendations for how to take care of our new piercings and for when we could change our jewelry. Healing for both of us has been slow and uneventful, which is just want you'd hope for. read more
