Second time's the charm! My daughter (5) has been wanting to get her ears pierced since last year. The first time, she was scared and I didn't want to push her, so we didn't get them done. The piercer the first time was so nice and let my daughter know what was going to happen every step of the way. My daughter asked again a few days ago and she said she was ready again. She already knew what to expect: marker on her ear, hold very still, and there will be an "ouchie." We booked online the same day with Brooke who was very friendly and put my daughter at ease. The ear marking was the longest part as Brooke wanted to make sure I was happy with the placement. Once it was time, my daughter had to lay down and she was a bit scared. They have a stuffed unicorn that she got to hold. Did my daughter cry? Yes. BUT once she saw her piercing, she could not stop talking about it! She loves them! I want to advise that if you have a little one who wants their ear pierced, set them with the expectation of what will happen during the process AND also that they are mature enough to know their piercing will need to be cleaned every day, twice a day. read more

He did decide to use orange instead of yellow based off of my skin tone. Good choice! Unfortunately I was only in town for a short while so I can't go back to this place, but I do recommend it. Do NOT get pierced here. I got my flat pierced 2 months ago and it wasn't healing properly at all. I went to a different piercing shop to get my helix done and when she looked at it she said it was pierced at an angle and would never heal so I had to take it out in order to prevent bumps and scaring that would never heal. It was more expensive to get a flat done at Carmel tattoo than the 3 I just received from a much better shop. I am very upset and will never be returning. I'm happy I caught it when I did so I didn't permanently harm my cartilage. For basic piercings, I understand, but for more complicated piercings the lack of registration from the PPA, integrity, and overall understanding of anatomy shows a lack of experience and quality this shop has. More expensive does not mean better quality, do better. read more

I have numerous other piercings so I was familiar with the process, but Brooke did a great job walking my mom through the experience and what to do for aftercare. I've had two experiences at this tattoo shop. One was so long ago I thought maybe I shouldn't even include it, but I figured if you wanna act a certain way in your business, expect people to find out. To be clear, my most recent experience with tattooist Mara in September 2023 was great. She was professional and did a great job helping me figure out what sizes worked best, orientation, etc., and it turned out perfect (hand). My first experience here with tattooist Adam in March of 2021, however, did not go as smoothly. I moved past it at the time, not the type to complain, figuring maybe he had had a long day and I used to be very forgiving, but I'm petty now and I figured I'd include it in the review I had planned to do for my more recent visit. I made an appointment a month in advance, emailing back and forth with a receptionist, and he/she said I didn't need a consultation and I'm all set for my app. I show up 10 minutes early and Adam says he doesn't have an appointment scheduled for this time. I quadruple check my email to make sure it was the right day and time (which it was), and he asks if I want to get it done another day instead, and I say no because it was my 18th birthday and I had scheduled it a MONTH in advance. All I get are whiny huffs and puffs from a grown man that he has to do a teenie weenie tattoo (that took a total of 20 minutes, set up included). I didn't like the initial size, so the poor guy had to print out another stencil (god forbid). Went through with the tattoo and it turned out great. Not questioning his skills at all. Just annoyed that I was the perfect customer: Made appointment in advance, came early, brought print outs of what I was getting done (forearm), was polite, understanding, and apologizing at every little thing like a total people pleaser, and yet was still shown unprofessionalism and arguably, disrespect. I won't tell you what to do but if I'm paying that much for something then I expect a baseline of professionalism lol. Booked an appointment with Kelly for a tattoo, submitted all documents and Designs when the appointment was booked drove 3 hours to get there when Kelly came out for the appointment late he informed us that he was switching us from a tattoo appointment to a consultation because he didn't have the time to do it. Claimed it would take him 2 and 1/2 hours to draw up a two-word nine-letter tattoo, designs were already submitted for the tattoo why would it not be ready when you have a scheduled appointment for a tattoo? My sister and I brought my 5 year old niece in because she had been asking to get her ears pierced. Because we are from about 2 hours away, we did not have an appointment. We just happened to be in the area and decided to give it a shot. They were able to accommodate us as a walk in appointment. Meghan did an amazing job and was so patient and kind with my niece. My wife finally said yes! She finally let me get my wedding ring tattooed on my ring finger. I have a confession, I hate jewelry, watches, necklaces, and bracelets, but I LOVE my wife, so I've worn a ring, a silicon ring, since we got married 3 years ago. My knuckle was broken in a fight years ago so regular rings don't fit right, so my solution was a tattoo, but my wife didn't want me get one. She's not a big fan. But today after my silicone ring broke, she finally said yes. I called Carmel Tattoo Ink, and Michael Hockman took time to talk through options with me. He then let me know they had a cancellation so I came in and they gave me my first tattoo. The business facility is So Clean, almost spotless, and the attention to safety and cleanliness is some of the best I've ever seen, and I work int he medial field, so I know what clean is supposed to look like and be. If I could give give this place a negative star, I would. Set up an appointment for a consultation WEEKS ago, and got multiple reminders from them to keep my appointment and be sure to show up. Since I live an hour from this establishment I literally planned my day around this appointment. When I walked in (oh, there's no place to park by the way that's not a mile away) and gave them my name, the kid at the front desk just said, "Oh. Uh. He's sick today. He called everyone to let them know." Ummmmm nope. He didn't call me. I told him so. I said in FACT I received a text day at 8:00am reminding me to show up on time. He said again that was calling all his clients. That he must have called me. I held up my phone. "Do you see his number here?" Why would I lie about getting a call??? He said no. No apology. No let me grab a manager. No let me see what I can do. Just a kid shrugging his shoulders. EXTREMELY unprofessional. I will go elsewhere for my tattoo and let everyone I know to avoid this place. While I am glad someone stayed home if he was ill, he dropped the ball and no one made any effort to let me know nor to even act remotely apologetic. Horrible customer service. read more

I have seen some pretty negative reviews on here about piercings. I got my nose pierced from here in the beginning of March. The guy was so nice and helpful with me being nervous about it. He pierced my nose quickly, went over instructions with me thoroughly about cleaning it, not touching it, wait to change it out, etc. I cleaned it everyday with exactly what he told me to go buy and it never got infected, red, anything. I received a helix and a tragus piercing. The jewelry they used was poor. The ring they used in my helix bent and smashed, and the opal stud in my tragus fell out of the post. I was told they were suitable for long-term wear, however, they were damaged within the first two months of owning them. The service was not bad, but the jewelry issues caused problems with healing. read more

I came here to get my navel pierced...After a couple months I noticed something was off about my piercing. I went to another piercing studio and was informed my navel piercing was pierced incorrectly. The piercer had pierced ABOVE where my navel was, so my piercing was never able to heal correctly. So disappointed, I came here about 7 month ago to get a Daith and helix piercing (spent $150 on the two piercings) and would now recommend nobody gets a piercing here. I took great care of my piercings but was still having issues with my daith so I got them checked out this weekend. Turns out BOTH my daith and helix were pierced with NOSTRIL jewelry that were both the incorrect sizes, which is why my ears were having trouble healing properly. Had to get my Daith removed because my ear was fusing with the earring due to it being the incorrect size and jewelry. Do your research and do NOT get pierced here. read more

I don't recommend for piercing!! They use low-grade jewelry which caused a negative reaction and made the healing process extremely painful. Ended up having to go to a different tattoo/piercing parlor to get the jewelry changed less than a month later. The piercer at the other place was shocked that they used a butterfly back for a helix piercing. read more
