Easy online portal which allows you to make easy changes to the schedule and also provides a report card of how they handled their business and any pertinent information. 5. They always give the dogs water before and after their walk and a treat if you request they provide one of your treats. 6. Very responsive at all hours including weekends, especially when you have a last minute situation that comes up and need a dog walker. 7. Easy and accurate weekly billing. NEGATIVES: None. Untangled Leashes has been absolutely amazing. I rescued my dog, Tillie, on a Saturday but needed to get a dog walker beginning Monday morning when I returned to work. Kat worked with me and scheduled our Meet N' Greet for a Saturday afternoon, so that we could be sure our pup's walk was ready to go on Monday. She took notes and asked all the right questions about Tillie's personality, habits, etc. On Monday, Kat joined the walker, Daved, to introduce him to our dog. Kat took photos of Tillie meeting Daved, happily, and sent them to me. My favorite thing about Untangled Leashes is the App, which allows me to track where the dog walked, whether or not she went #1 or #2, if she drank or ate any treats, etc. It also includes photos of her on the walk and lets the walker provide an update on how the walk went. For those who get human separation anxiety (like me - who gets so sad every time I leave my sweet doggo), the photos help make the process so much easier. Untangled Leashes helps remind you that your dog is having a great time on their walk, giving you peace of mind. We've been clients of Untangled Leashes for (edit:) over two years, with services including daily walks/play time for our two dogs, as well as sleepovers with the dogs when we go out of town. Walkers are punctual, communicative, and loving towards our dogs. Reports from the daily walks include details about what the dogs, ahem, did, and photos of their playtime or their walk. Walks are sometimes switched to playtime if it is too hot or too cold outside. We feel that the whole team cares for our dogs as they would their own. When we first met with Kat, she explained that Untangled Leashes' policies regarding where they provide services and how many services per walker / sitter they will schedule are all set in order to ensure efficient and safe travel for walkers, and sufficient time for each scheduled service. This was something I appreciated, as our previous walker cut short walks and visits, did not stick to scheduled times, which was likely the result of being overbooked and rushed. From the business side, Kat and the other teams members promptly reply to questions and requests for services, and inform us if a new walker will be joining/meeting the dogs, as well as new policies (e.g., walks are not scheduled for holidays unless you request them, invoicing procedures, etc.) being implemented. We've been using Untangled Leashes for a few months after switching from another local provider that wasn't meeting our expectations. Before we started regular service, we showed them and they documented how we take care of our dog. Whenever we get a new walker, they bring them with someone who has taken care of our dog before and they go through our dog's walk routine. The walkers are very caring and send great daily updates (with pictures)! During one walk, there was an unavoidable emergency in which our dog's nail was bleeding and he needed to be taken to a vet. We immediately received a call and they calmly explained what happened and offered to take him to our vet. We asked them to stay with our dog for a short time until we could get home, which they were happy to. Melissa, the owner, insisted that they cover the vet bill. This accident could have happened with us or anyone else and I don't blame the walker at all. I would highly recommend Untangled Leashes! read more

This place is amazing. We started Untangled Leashes when we got the unfortunate news that our adorable pooch had cancer. We were heartbroken, but determined to find the best care for her while she remained on her meds. It was very important that her dog walkers were gentle, loving, and patient with our dog (who is a senior dog) because she was in lots of pain and very uncomfortable. Let it be known that I am a very particular person. You could even say I am quirky so when I set out for my search I had specific things in mind. I didn't want my dog to be 1 out of 24858579dogs. I wanted it to be a smaller amount. I did an immediate search in the Falls Church area and found Untangled Leashes. I noticed it is a small woman owned business (+1) that had great reviews (+1) and had a variety of options that they could do for our dog (+2) AND a particular walking schedule for puppies and elderly dogs(+1). Well, I called up Melissa and she was so patient with me as I was flustered. Keep in mind, all of this happened in such a short period of time. She mentioned that everything would be okay and she would be able to meet our doggie with our walker Kat. We scheduled our appointment and my husband was able to get home before I was because OF COURSE DC's Metro and it's freaking SAFE TRACK wanted to NOT get me home. Needless to say I was running late. I hate running late. Anyways, it wasn't a problem with them, I ended up being about 15 minutes late (I think) but Bailey was excited with all of the people inside the home. I knew it was going to be a great fit. We talked process, they got the scoop of how Bailey is and can be, and we signed up then and there. It all went seamlessly, and we started the walk the following day. At this point, our pup was in the most painful time of her treatment so short 15 minute walks were enough for her to get some exercise, move her legs, and just...be a dog accompanied by a friend. So, her first walk happened. I was anxiously awaiting that text with the GPS to show exactly where she'd been and pictures of how she was doing. Well, turns out the meds had made her super thirsty so she really needed the water refill and they were so kind to drop some kibble into her bowl so we could keep her blood sugar level up. Kat was great with getting our pup to eat. I loved looking at my texts (about twice) to see that they got so much information into those texts regarding our dogs energy level, eating habits, and overall mood. This was also very important to our vet who logged this in as we went through her treatment. We also got photos, and this is is what is truly amazing. When you have a dog with an illness, and you're able to see over a course of 3 months how the vet is working on the internal aspect of making sure our dog lives out the most of her years, and a dog walking company (Untangled Leashes in our case) that is taking care of her outer dog nature of walks, checking out squirrels, giving Milk Bones, and a bark or two while trotting up the street - I kid you not, we can actually see the transformation from our pictures back in September to today. Fast forward 3 months. First off, our pooch is doing so much better with her care that we were able to space out her walks by an hour (that's huge btw). Our vet is telling us to continue the dog walking AND, she's been cleared for daycare (6 full day under her belt) as opposed to taking her out every 4 hours. Kat and Melissa have TRULY helped us out. I'd also like to mention that I really do appreciate them being so understanding. Recently, I've been having some work from home days that are both planned and unplanned and for them to work with the VERY last minute texts has truly been amazing. Now, if you've gotten to the end of this review I think your assumption is spot on by thinking I would recommend Untangled Leashes. You are right. But in the event it needs to be said, I would recommend Untangled Leashes to anyone and their dog regardless of the illness. I have found them to be very professional and loving towards my two puppies. I switched from another local pet service after that was not up to par.
