What a hidden gem off Ventura Blvd! I'll start with really the only negative things here - the parking. Yes it seems the space is targeting the bank building it's located it, but don't let the location discourage you from stopping by. They validate to park in the garage and there is plenty of metered parking outside. I ordered a variety of items and while waiting noticed the spacious area which would be great to sit and relax to eat or quick to find for grab and go orders. Starting off with the pastrami breakfast burrito - this thing is MASSIVE. A soft warmed tortilla packed full of lean pastrami, nicely fried eggs, so much cheese, and some of the crispiest hash browns I've ever had in a breakfast burrito. It's not a mushed scramble of who knows what and the potatoes aren't those lazy hashbrowns that haven't even been fried or crisped up. This is a real contender. Next up, the chicken pesto panini. Crispy bread stacked full of chicken breast with fresh light pesto, sundried tomatoes, and again plenty of cheese! It's such a great and light sandwich I would order this again and again. The spicy Italian sub is layered beautifully with all the meats, veggies, and the great mayo-sauce concoction you typically find in old school delis. The bread is firm but soft and holds everything so well, nothing was slipping out after each bite! One of my favorite things here is the in-house baked goods. I did not try the croissants but they looked amazing, I did try the cookies though! They have chocolate chip, red velvet, and a red velvet-chocolate chip mix. All of them are amazing but I think I like the red velvet slightly more because nobody does red velvet cookies as good as they are here. Soft, gooey, not overly sweet, and you don't get that overly-sugar or butter flavor as you eat it. (Crumble better watch out) Happy to support a small business and will be happy to return!

Chinese Chicken Salad

The Chinese chicken salad was okay, unfortunately the chicken breast was quite chewy and overcooked but the salad was well prepared and the service as good seeing that the gentleman provided a delicious freshly baked cookie complimentary. I'll come back hoping that the chicken is better next time.

Listen. If you like breakfast burritos, sandwiches this place is the place for you. Located on the second floor of a building. I was impressed by the variety of the menu. The owner is a chef and broke down ingredients of multiples menu items. I got to taste them too. It was better than good it was amazing. Order to go or stay enjoy the ambiance of the beautiful busy street of encino.

We were extremely excited to try the breakfast burritos because of the incredible reviews that others posted about how life changing it was. However, be warned that breakfast burritos are no longer offered after 11am!!! We got the chicken pesto panini and the Chinese chicken salad instead. The chicken pesto panini was pretty good -- the bread was crunchy and toasted perfectly, the chicken was sorta dry but it wasn't the end of the world, the sun dried tomatoes were a really nice addition to the pesto flavor, and the size was great!! The Chinese chicken salad dressing was pretty sweet but worked well with everything in the salad. I loved the crunch of the wonton skins and the juicy bursts of the mandarin oranges. The chicken was also kind of dry which is why the dressing was crucial for the salad! The man making my order asked if I would have liked my salad tossed, but you can also ask for the dressing to be on the side. TIP 1: PARK BEHIND WALGREENS. Parking is pretty confusing and tough in this area. There is limited metered street parking right outside so we parked in the Walgreens parking lot. There is validated parking if you buy something at Walgreens which makes the parking free for up to 60 mins! TIP 2: This restaurant is a little hard to find! It is located inside the City National Bank building and is on the second floor. Follow signs to suite 210 and look for a door that says The Eatery TIP 3: GO BEFORE 11AM FOR BREAKFAST ITEMS!

While in the area for a workout, I found myself famished and decided to stop here for a quick bite to take home with me. I ordered a bowl to go and it was made promptly although the order didn't end up being completely correct. I ordered a create your own bowl with some wild rice and kale, cucumbers, apples, chickpeas and sweet potatoes. I had also ordered the spicy cashew dressing and pesto vinaigrette but in place of the pesto vinaigrette I was given hot sauce. I double checked the order slip that was placed on the package and it was marked with both dressings, so I know the mistake wasn't on my end. Regardless, all of the veggies were very fresh and the dressing and hot sauce were very flavorful. Everything was portioned well and the meal was very hearty. It was also packaged in a way that made it easy to take with me to go. They have a lovely spacious outdoor patio that I would have loved to sit on, especially since it was a gorgeous day out. The inside and exterior of the restaurant was also very clean and tidy and bright. The service was friendly but it was busy when I came, so it felt like they were very rushed. Parking was very easy in their giant lot that they share with Amazon Fresh and a few other businesses.

We didn't go inside, but the outdoor patio seating area is so charming. There are big wooden tables and benches outside, surrounded by flowers and plants, and there's even a small water fountain. There is plenty of parking because it is in the same mini mall as the CVS. We ordered the lamb chops, a filet mignon kebab, the seared ahi tuna salad with a side of basmati rice, and the salmon dinner plate. We got the flatbread and hummus appetizers, and the pomegranate juice is made fresh there. It was so naturally sweet, I added ice cubes to dilute it. I was told the food ingredients are organic and healthy, and it sure tasted that way. I had plenty of food left over for lunch the next day. Our server was friendly and attentive. I will definitely be coming here again when I am craving fresh and organic Mediterranean food!

I love their drip coffee and that there are free refills. Yay! They have some outlets available if you bring your laptop. I usually come on weekdays because the weekends get super busy! They have indoor and outdoor seating, but I like to be inside and watch the folks in the kitchen do their thing. We started with a blueberry scone and it had great flavor. It did taste a little on the dry side, so depending on how you like your scones can be a good or bad thing. Goes perfectly with the coffee! For my main I got the avocado chicken BLT wrap and it was delicious! I chose to get hash browns on the side, which were tasty but I wish they had a little more crisp on them. My mom ordered a scramble and what came out was an omelette that has been cut up into pieces. My mom brought it to an employee's attention and she offered to have them remake it, which was appreciated! Love that they validate parking if you park in the underground lot. Overall, my experience here is consistently good. Love their food and the casual vibe!

Misleading Signs, Poor Management, and Unhelpful Service I…read morehave visited Claudine's in Encino on Ventura Boulevard many times. However, my girlfriend and I were very disappointed during our most recent visit. The tables have clear signs that read: "ORDER FROM YOUR TABLE!" with a QR code encouraging customers to "SCAN HERE TO START AN ORDER." We followed the instructions exactly. After a table became available, we sat down and tried to order from our seats using the QR code. A manager immediately came over and confrontationally told me I was not allowed to do that. When I pointed out the sign on the table, he became combative and unfriendly, insisting that we had to stand in the long line like everyone else. He came across as being on a power trip. This makes no sense. Allowing customers to order from their tables (as the signs clearly promote) would help relieve the long lines at the cash register and actually benefit the business by improving flow and customer experience. Instead, the policy creates unnecessary frustration and confusion. Even worse, the interaction felt somewhat discriminatory. This kind of treatment is unacceptable and left us feeling unwelcome in what should be a pastry and coffee shop experience. Owners and management: Please either remove the misleading table signs or honor what they say. Train your staff -- especially managers -- on basic politeness and consistency, and ensure all customers are treated fairly. The servers who bring the food are very polite and courteous, the manager not so much. Great food will keep you in business only for so long, however if the management is so hostile and dominant, people will eventually go elsewhere. This experience will keep us from returning.

This is…read morecoming from someone who has an Israeli boyfriend, someone that keeps hummus as a staple in her home, and someone who could probably never get sick of Mediterranean food. My boyfriend introduced me to this place, he and his family love it, and now I do too. He and I used to be long distance for three years and every time he would visit in LA, we would go to Tel Aviv Grill. There are lots of things to get here... pita, laffa, baguette, but I've pretty much always ordered the plate. You choose a meat and you get a wholeeee bunch of sides. You order and pay, and take your receipt to the counter and they prepare the meat and your order for you. I usually order the chicken thigh plate and I split that with my boyfriend. The plate is honestly enough for two people but it's not quite enough protein. So we also order a side of rib eye or chicken shawarma. I get everything with the plate, so that looks like: purple cabbage, green cabbage, cucumber tomato salad, pickles, peppers, roasted eggplant, fries, and one pita. Hummus and tahini too. They have other sauces too but you have to specifically ask for those if you want them, like zchug and amba. Some workers are nicer than others and if you ask for a little extra, they give it to you. We always appreciate when that happens :) Everything here is good, you won't be disappointed and you definitely won't leave hungry!

The last time…read morewe went, we were party of 6 we specifically asked the cashier that we want our kabobs to be well done and we want the food to be hot. Not only my wife's chicken kabob was not cooked well, it was cold too!! Her meal was not the only meal on the table that was cold. The next morning, we both had severe stomachaches which we could not possibly believe. Please do not be fooled by the portions that they give you, they fill up your plates with lots of salads, to cover up the stingy portion of one skewer chicken or beef kabob which they serve you on their plates!! They claim to be glatt kosher but their food, meat & chickens are not healthy at all. We will never step foot in there again. After a while, there was a response from the owner: " I am sorry to hear about your experience with us. This is not something that we take lightly. I would like to offer my apologies. Please give our main office a call and ask for my secretary. She will be happy to hear from you and will do her best to rectify the situation." I did call and talked to her. She said that she is going to talk to the owner and will get back to me. She texted me the following: I appreciate the time you spent talking to me regarding your experience at Tel Aviv Grill. I spoke to the owner and he agreed to send you a gift card in the amount of $150 which you can use at any of our locations including "Popular" our newest store and Tel Aviv Tapas. Although I understand that your review was based on a true experience, considering the fact we are rectifying the situation, will you please either remove the negative review or rewrite it with a better light? I called her & told her that if the owner wants me to rewrite my review with a better light, please ask him to make the gift card $200 since I have been to his Tel Aviv Tapas restaurant a few times & have spent a lot of money there, the main courses are over $90 a dish, salads are over $26 & alcoholic beverages are over $28 each. She said let me talk to him & I will let you know. She got back to me, saying that after speaking with the owner about our conversation, he is taking the deal off the table now. She added that, I am busy with other things & do not have time to negotiate endlessly about this. This is not the right way and the right attitude to rectify situations & make clients satisfied!!
